Location, good front desk service The bar is very basic, not friendly
Loaction of the hotel The breakfast buffet was the wost organised I have ever experienced. The last day I had to go outside to get breakfast. The table were not cleaned after people left resulting in insufficient places. The food was not replenished in time and the staff clearly misses supervision. Horrible !
Central location close to the main touristic attractions. Friendly and hlepfull staff. Rooms not really big, but sufficient for a short stay.
I was given an upgrade to a suite. The heating system was much to strong and they claimed it was impossible to lower the general temperature.
Very good value for money and very nice breakfast. Good central location. I had a room at the front overlooking the obelisk - fantastic view, but would have been noisy if I had wanted to open the window (I didn't need to). Bbc World on tv - a nice change from cnn! My colleague had a room at the back looking at a dark wall - rather dingy and cramped. Swimming pool only operates in 'summer season' (I.E. European winter time).
The Staff, very helpful Our recent booking, we booked a double room with a double bed and recieved a room with single beds. Not happy about this.
The position In general the hotel needs re-decoration but is adequate for business purposes if a central location is required.
ubication ,in the center of city,is near of the all point interest tourist oh,nothing
Their, breakfast was very good for the money. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was well situated from where you were able to walk all the turist sites as well as shopping. The airport pick up worked extremely well, we liked it. The rooms are small. If you have luggage more than carry ons you have difficult time in moving in the room.
There are two things that come to mind. First, the staff was very courteous and helpful. Could not have asked for better customer service from them. Also, the view from our room on the 5th floor to the avenue below was beautiful, especially at night. There was nothing I did not like.
Adequate for a short stay
Restaurante, Roon service
The hotel is elegant and charming. Our bathroom was roomy and had a window! The concierge was wonderful about helping with any request or problem. The breakfast and food in the bar and restaurant were delicious, with a good selection.
Location and free internet
Readiness to help, fantastic atmosphere, cultural program, free business center No news channel in English (CNN, BBC, Euronews etc.)
The breakfast was delicious, good service, special food for our celiac needs and a very nice atmosphere
Convenient location. Comfortable and clean. Attentative staff. Pleasant experience. Using room service I ordered a toasted sandwich and a glass of orange juice - I was advised delivery would be 25 minutes. In the end it took 50 minutes.
locaton, staff room sizze, clearness size
Brefast and service, good, staff attentive and friendly
Better room second time Internet does not work in rooms.
Location. Less than a block off Florida Street. Restaurant was excellent and had a wonderful ambiance. The rooms needed to be updated. Mattress droopy, carpet worn.
Let meatier luggage Paint peeling on ceilind--literally falling on our luggage. Bed was soft and lumpy.
The hotel is located in a special place of the city - Puerto Madero - close to good restaurants and parks.
the room was huge and well equipated
Localization. Based on Puerto Madero with easy access to the hole city.
Nice room in seemingly very safe area.Nice breakfast.
Trendy architecture in nice neighbourhood
lovely property, some of your staff (like bell boy) were friendly and nice. The timber etc was good. lovely property, but it needs desparate repair and upgrade. And your breakfast bar manager was unable to provide Soy Milk (for example). The bar closed 2 hours ahead of time. The room given earlier was too noisy. etc etc.
the view from the room was great and the concierge very helpful
Convenience to shopping sighseeing restaurants, easily accessible to airport by taxi, helpful, courteous staff. Regency rooms were shabby, we were lucky to receive an upgrade which was excellent & above comments did not apply
The mattress in our room could be replaced. It was like sleeping on a rolling slope of hills, basically it was lumpy. The breakfast was great the first day, however by the 5th day I was craving something else! Good selection of food, the scrambled eggs were runny. It's free so these are minor complaints. The hotel is right near the "obelisk." It's centrally located which makes it ideal. Quick cab rides to all the barrios.
Great location and excellent service The pillows were really bad
The pool & buffet breakfast were amazing! It was a chilly day in Buenos Aires so the indoor heated pool was very nice and I definitely put that to use. It is modern and clean and I enjoyed the cabanas and complimentary fresh juice. The view from the pool deck is outstanding! I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast. They offered a wide assortment. Best breakfast I have had during my stay in Argentina. The rooms are large and the beds are large and comfortable. I slept very well. I enjoyed the spa tubs and the bathrooms are very chic! Only issue was the faucet...a little quirky at times but nothing major to complain about. I enjoyed the hardwood flooring and felt very safe in my hotel room. For a nice hotel like this one, they did not have hair dryers or converters. I would have been happy to pay for a converter if they offered one so it was a little annoying and a bit of a hassle to go out searching for one. I wasted about 45min of my time but eventually found one at a local market shop for very cheap.
The central location and the helpful staff at the reception desk.
The hotel has a great glassed in rooftop pool/spa/gym with fantastic views of the city and the rooms are very nice as well. Most breakfasts were in the ballroom rather than thier more attractive restaurant to accomidate the large number of clients being shuttled to cruise lines.
Best points: Fantastic Location, excellent fitness center and pool, very excellent service and friendly staff, great value overall Negatives: The bed was ready to be replaced, runny eggs at the buffet, room safe not working well
Although overloaded by 3 ongoing conferences and crowds moving in and out of the hotel, the staff at reception was extremely kind and attentive. spa annd pool with outstanding views is worth a try. Service overall was very good. I stayed two nights, the first night I was assigned an old room with an old carpet, full of stains, extremely poor lighting, a bathtub with cracks and holes, a partly rotten cabinet. I thought of leaving the hotel. I spoke to the reception manager and for the second night I was moved to a room that was, simply, perfect. Make sure you request a renovated room! Anyway, why do they keep such old and unclean rooms?
The hotel was central in the city and this made sightseeing very easy The security was a constant worry. One of our friends had her camera bag snatched away and stolen in the reception area!
1. Professional welcome and check-in 2. Large rooms 3. Charm and history of hotel 4. Location 5. Frontdesk staff 6. Proactive spa staff looking to accommodate schedules 1. Low energy lamps are ok, but they should choose to have a lightning that underlines the beauty of the hotel. Currently it's lightning is like in a hospital... 2. Breakfast area should be kept more tidier, when there are a lot of people. It was a bit messy.
Nice room, good food, excellent staff service. Internet connection poor.
High ceilings and elegant atmosphere from a time long ago.
The building was well kept and the staff was professional. The location of the hotel was ideal. We had visited the hotel 8 years ago and haddinner there and we decided to stay there this time. It lived up to our expectations.
The Plaza is a wonderful piece of Argentina's history. Excellent location in the heart of the shopping district. Wonderful, friendly, attentive personnel. Their recommendation for the restaurant 'Las Nazarenas' was one of our highlights, fabulous!!! It is a historic building, so there are some quirks, but in my opinion, well worth it. My only issue is that Wi-Fi should be included. However, it is for free in the lobby.
excellent staff- very helpful with our trip travelling on from Beunos Aires
It is very clean, comfortable, and the location is great. The only staff that speaks English is the front desk, so if you want room service, laundry, or anything fixed by maintenance, you have to call the front desk and hope they aren't busy.
Good location, comfortable and clean.
Original art throughout the hotel, beautiful rooms, great showers, and a full breakfast buffet made our stay pleasant. Professional staff helped us with reservations for dinner and a tango show, and were great to deal with. A small pool on the top of the building was too crowded to use.
Excellent staff, Good Internet Faciliites and an excellent quality breakfast Nothing at all. Will choose everytime i am back in Buenos Aires
near all action in the city
The new tower is quiet and modern. The lobby of he old tower is bigger and more luxurious but my understanding is the rooms are older although I never saw them. They seemed to have certain websites blocked since Internet was working fine but some sites would not work in the hotel. Very strange.
My fiance really enjoyed the continental breakfast. The room was a bit small but the location is just half a block from countless historical landmarks and the subte.
The cost of the rate and the benefits are good. The breakfast is very good. The localization is very good too, next to the government house and 03 blocks from Florida. The amenities are poor, for example, no shower cap, even after my request.
no smoking room should not have ashtray
Great staff, great location right on the obelisc, clean room with big bathroom and strong shower, great breakfast. Could be a little cheaper and it should have a better selection of wines.
The location is excelent, the room was very big, the bed large and comfortable I didn't like at all the glass see-through walls in the bathroom, prefer privacy there. I also didn't like not having carpets on the floors, I use to do gymnastics in the mornings, and it's not comfortable to do it on a naked floor.
Good Location to city
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the city. Perhaps the staff could have had better English language skills
The room was comfortable and it was a suite style. It was big and the bathroom was of a good size for Argentina standards. My room was facing an important and busy city avenue.I need ear plugs for sleep. If you want a quiet room it is consider and upgrade and you need to pay more.
Having kitchen facilities in the suite, the two separate rooms, proximity to downtown. They also promptly accomodated a change to twin beds from a double. The elevators were claustrophobis, corridors sometimes smelled a bit of cigarette smoke and I was not able to get onto the hotel internet via my iPod although the staff at the front desk did try to help.
Location, large room, well equipped, cleaning services
Central location, staff had pretty good english, spacious rooms, ok breakfast, pretty ok value for the money swimming pool water was bit dirty, some (not all) of the young staff in the breakfast room were more concentrating on gossiping than serving the customers
very nice location and class of hotel, large room, well equipped The staff speaks mainly Spanish, some of them poor English if you are lucky. However, they try being helpful.
The location was great, walking distance to the pedestrian walking street Calle Florida. Service was also excellent. I am very allergic to dust and it wasn't until I put the comforter/throws from the bed into the living room that I was able to sleep and wake without feeling like I could not breathe.
The staff was very helpful. The locations was great! The room was large and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again. No
The best thing about the hotel is its location, close to shopping and restaurants. Inattentive reception staff, poor elevator service
Good location on the shopping street, plenty of malls and places to eat cheaply. Good price for the location. Taxis, can't get to the hotel as it is pedestrian only area. Problems with elevators meant that the stairs were needed. Ground floor looked like a deserted/disused shopping mall in the evening. Not a nice place to enter after 11pm. Restaurant/breakfast area shabby, no internet access except two shared machines. Under-staffed.
The only thing I can say is, it's centeraly located nothing else was intresting. well, this is not a 4 star, if I wanna rate it, I would say 2.5, it is a old building which you can hear people in aisle and from other rooms, staff can't speak english or they dont want to (which is not acceptable) and I dont know why they employed them! I asked to clean my room but it didnt happen(they forgot), and the rate they charged was different from what I booked.
The beds are old
The size of the room. The location of the hotel. The value of the hotel in what you got for your money.
The convenience of its location. The front office staff where very attentive and we really appreciated their good command of the English Language! Nothing we did not like about the hotel, it was great, but please do not restrict "William Walker" as the only person able to reply to this survey. Please give other options such as me (his wife!!) - after all you sent this email to ME not him!!!
the plaies and the staff in the hotel
Hotel was well located. Staff was competent. Room was large enough for three people comfortably. Bathroom was large and facilities all worked well. Room was kept clean and neat by staff. Relatively quiet.
Location No views at all. Breakfast included and was supposed to open at 6:30 but still no hot entrees by 6:50.
Great location opposite the Recoleta Cemetary, surrounded by a dozen neat restaurants serving all kinds of foods. Also adjacent to some great but expensive shops. Great breakfast, great roof-top pool. We were upgraded to a suite which was huge with a balcony overlooking the cemetery, but the rooms themselves desperately need work, carpets are stained, some windows have no window coverings, the huge Jacuzzi tub looked too dirty to use, so we just used it to shower. I'm sure the rooms are adequately cleaned but its just shabby; if we were in the standard room I had reserved I would consider the hotel too expensive given its shabbiness.
lots of restaurant choices very close to hotel. Needs some updates no desks in room to work on
Located in a great area of Buenos Aires. Lot's of restaurants, nightlife and parks. Hotel needs some remodelling.
Proximity to shopping & restaurants in Recoleta. Staff was great Rooms were worn out, in need of renovation
The hotel is in a good lcoation close to the cemetary and Recolata Village. The hotel provided free wifi which worked well. The hotel is in need of an overall renovation; it is clear from the general state that the owners are not investing money in it. The rooms and bathrooms are shabby although clean. The gym and pool area are in a very bad state. Probably around half of the machines in the gym are broken and rusting due to being located in the pool area. The pool however was heated which was a plus.
Saff were excellent, friendly and tried very hard Decor is old and shabby, the whole hotel needs big investment. The lobby and bar area were deserted and unwelcoming. We went to the Alvear Palace hotel most evenings for a coffee or a drink, just for the athmosphere. However the staff were most helpful
health club facilities--nice pool and workout room with weight machines and free weights. Convenient to Recoleta. Good prices usually. Many rooms are run down. Breakfast does not have healthy selections. Street turns very tacky in one direction.
Hotel staff very helpfull. The exellent location for my purpose and felt safe in the area. Taxi rank very near made it convenient and quick to get around. The bathroom in my room was in need of a bit of paint and repair. Sealent around jacuzzi needs replacement.
Clean, excellent staff very helpful, Early check in would be nice, I arrived from Canada @ 10am and I could get a room until 300pm, I have meetings booked and would like to rest and shower so to get into a room for early check in would be very good.
Great location, good accomodation! Internet was paid in the rooms and dropped all the time.
Good location. Carpet in the rooms.
IT was just a wonderful place to stay and everything was perfect. The staff was fantastic!!!!! Would highly recommend it to everyone.
Having internet in lobby only was inconvenient. Staff not helpful in obtaining power strip for charging phones, etc. Rooms comfortable, and cleaning staff were excellent and very helpful.
An excellent hotel with excellent services; good location, close to the centre and several restaurants; excellent value for money
Breakfast and room comfort There was some noise coming from the air conditioning equipment outside.
the staff and the acomodations
the location is very good They gave us a very small and noisy room compared with the rest of the rooms that had the same prize. The staff were not very helpful, I asked them for a hairdresser and they couldnt direct me to one, I also had an emergency and need batteries and they couldnt help me either. They told us when we arrived that breakfast was included and then when we were leaving they charged us for it. In the reservation the breakfast wasnt included but since the receptionist mentioned it, we just believed her and then paid an enormus amount of money for it. There is no iron on the rooms, so you have to pay to get your clothes ironed.
Great room for the price
great location and breakfast... nice, confortable rooms. Very friendly hotel staff.
Very well run, comfortable, centrally located hotel with courteous staff who helped with every request. Highly recommended.
It was extremely clean and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions for things to do and getting around Buenos Aires. It was our favorite hotel during our trip to Argentina. The complimentary breakfast was generous and excellent as well.
The location can't be beat. Across the street from bars and a Subway and close to the best restaurants in town. Tours pick you up at the hotel. Plus, as you're aware, the exchange rate is a challenge. Although the official exchange rate is 8 to 1USD, the hotel offered 11. This was a huge help as it's not as good at shady black market outlets will give you at 13, but it prevents you from having to go to these places. The host at breakfast was a total jerk. Staff in general could use an attitude adjustment, but this guy takes the cake. The doormen were the only people that showed any interest at all.
Hotel staff were helpful and lent me cash as I was having withdrawing cash problem Wifi terrible pool and spa available
Location is ok, breakfast is great. The Staff was sort of angry the entire visit; from front desk to room service (note - housekeeping was good although there was no interaction with myself) ,I felt unpleasantly greeted. Miscellaneous notes- the fitness room is mediocre not because of the equipment but because there is no ventilation in the basement where the pool and gym are- which made it very difficult to breathe while running/ working out.
The room was so comfortable, beautiful bed linen, pillows and towels. Very luxurious.
It's well located to my local office and a quaintly unique boutique setting. It's small enough that the staff remembers you when you come and go and you are not lost in the crowd, which can tend to be the case at larger hotels. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I would have liked to swim with the roof open since it was warm out and the roof was not retracted. It was summer time so I figured they would have opened it up. Not a big issue and it more than made up for it in every other way.
This was my second stay at Alvear Art. I returned because I enjoyed my first time. I like the location: the area ranging from the Plaza de Mayo all the way up to Recoleta contains a lot that interests me. I enjoy sitting on a bench in Plaza San Martin and listening to the birds and the city while reading something thoughtful and contemplating life. It's nice too to have within walking range a number of nice restaurants. The hotel staff was glad to advise me and make suggestions. The servers in the hotel restaurant treated me like a friend. I believe I have found my place to stay in Buenos Aires.
location aircondition badly functioning - can not open window wide enough to ventilate. - matress was awful, felt like waterbed, when ever the other person moved, you moved too.
The room's confort that it was not possible to have a soup of the menu during room service time.
We enjoyed the helpful staff, cleanliness of hotel and the overall quality was very good A more reasonably priced breakfast would have been a big plus. Expensive buffet breakfast of little interest and not always convenient to leave each morning to have breakfast
Everything is a wonderfull elegant hotel , and you can get it for a very economic rate.
the location and the side of the room together with the garden vieux. the internet acces is pour in the room
The hotel is increadible! It´s very confortable and clean. The bathroom is suberb! There is no room service through the night long. The breakfast is very poor comparing to the hotel level. At least, I wonder if the´s a hairdresser at the hotel.
the location was very good. Hotel facilities were also of a very good standard. Room quite large for price. toulet had not been cleaned. Staff were not very friendly or helpful.
good location and big room.
Location Breakfast not included in the deal. liberating the room by 10:00 AM
In the center of BA. Nothing else... :/ Incredibly noisy, even at the 11th floor. Breakfast area too small. Waiting too long for the lifts (2lifts). No hair dryer in this kind of hotel.
Nothing Don't stay at republica hotel!!! The photos in the site are fake, the real pictures are from a different rooms all together. the room was small(there was no space to open our two suitcases) and old. Blankets was torn sheets was dispicable. We wanted to upgrade our room but the lady from the reception told us there aren't any rooms available even though we saw one on line. For conclusion the hotel is old smelly and it was our worst expirance off our month travel.
The free use of the sauna and jacuzzi, the internet was really fast and the location is great! We were given a room on the first floor which they say was newly renovated so the room looks new. I don't know about the other rooms on the other floors. The things that I didn't like were the beddings and the shower stall which was very, very small. The coverlet was kinda shabby and worn-out. The white linens underneath were very thin but other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
PRICE TIME OF CHCK OUT, THE BATH ROOM WAS NOT CLEAR.
Location and spa The standard room is terrible, small, very noisy, hot, small tv. The Deluxe room seems way better, we tried to change but couldn't because the hotel was full, but certainly would worth
location excellent, health facilities superior Room neither particularly attractive nor comfortable (acceptable but less than you would expect in a hotel of this rating). Breakfast buffet uninspired
The location and the room are very good, although the room was very dirt(because the reform in the floor) . The dirt of the reform. The 11th floor was dirty all the time and the dirty was the same inside the room. Also, during two days we (me and my father) had to share only one bath towel!
Central location, met all my needs, helpful staff, clean, extended services such as spa services in the lobby. Perfect for me who does not like to spend money on a room when only going to be there long enough to sleep. Nice room, own bathroom, air conditioning, easy access to rest of city via subway, buses, taxis, walking, etc. Shampoo, soap, etc. provided everyday. Amenities refrigerator, room services, restaurant & bar . . . For those of you who want posh then you might choose something different. I liked it very much. The only reason I indicated comfort as "good" instead of "excellent" because it is not a posh hotel, but it is very comfortable.
The desk clerk was very friendly and most helpful. We had a great room high up overlooking the Obelisk. Very busy hotel with two small lifts. Breakfast was very crowded and difficult to get around the tables.
I had to pay for WiFi -- every day I had to go down to the front desk to get a little slip of paper with a new username and password, which expired within 24 hours. I couldn't even buy multiple slips at the same time. The WiFi sucked anyway. I couldn't watch videos or make phone calls. Also, some of the staff at the front desk were a little rude.
My room was too small for 5 star Hotel (but excellent in cleanliness and well seviced). Carpets were tired in Hallways on floor 5. Overall a pleasant experience.
Great breakfast and bistro. The rooms are confortable and clean. Excelent location. The staff at the reception desk could be more friendly.
Very disappointing for a 5 star hotel. In many other countries I believe it would be 3 star.Otherwise ok.Weekend staff appeared to be very inexperienced.
Modern design hotel, with all facilities, fantastic staff and not very big but neat rooms. There are a lot of elevators, which all ring a very loud bell when arriving at reguested floors. When you are in a room close to the elevators you gone have problems with sleeping. Some rooms have an extra door that keeps the sound away. The rooms are not really big, not even the suites or more upmarket rooms.
Central Location It is classified as a 5 star but is definately not . By upgrading our room 2 levels it became a 4 star. I would recommend hotel by location and staff only.
professional staff, nice room, good breakfast,
Location was very good, central, reason for the selection. Services also are very good. Breakfast great. Recommended! No, everything was as expected. No problems at all.
Very good breakfast and a nice gym center. The room was clean and big. Good lacation, near center. Breakfast on the weekend was better that the one I took on monday, much better!
Nice hotel, room clean, nice people and very good breakfast.
The facade of the hotel is nothing special- a 19 or 20 story brick building; however, the lobby is very pretty with spiral staircases and marbe pillars. The rooms are a good size and very clean. They charge for the internet, for the water in the room, for the coffee machine in the room, and they charged me $20 US dollars for a collect call to my credit card company. Given that this is one of the more expensive hotels in Buenos Aires, this type of nickel and diming of guests is offensive. When you enter the hotel there are always 5 or 6 people waiting to open the door, yet when I could not set up the wireless connection and was connected to the business center,no one answered the phone-prefer having good service rather than the appearance of good service. The gym, which is advertised as state of the art, consists of a few treadmills and bikes and a universal machine and a few dumbells.Shower took 15 mins to get warm.
Possibility of early checking in and late checking out without any difficulty No real lunch or dinner facilities in the hotel
The location in a lovely part of Buenos Aires, design of the hotel public rooms and guest rooms, and staff were all excellent.
