What are the pros of staying at Dom Sonata?
Good price and good location. Nice place. Spacious rooms, clean, excellent location. Normally it's a student residence converted into the hotel. Nice and simple. Free parking, good value for money. The room was spacious and clean and there were no issues with how warm it was. The location is excellent - a very short walk from the old town, close to public transportation and a supermarket.
What are the cons of staying at Dom Sonata?
It would have been nice to have a kitchen area to store some food or make a coffee. It was a bit loud due to ongoing renovation of the building. One evening there was no warm water in the shower. The place was rather dirty (I found a hair on the toilet seat), no toiletries, old towels, dirty spots on the curtains. During check-in, I encountered a very rude elderly lady who almost yelled at me when I asked her to repeat and clarify things in English. It's understandable that she may not be fluent in English, but she did possess basic English skills; however, she chose not to be friendly about it. Adding to my frustration, there were no curtains or blinds in the room, and there were scaffolders working right outside my window. In my room, there were windows facing the roof of the building. During my stay at the hotel, there were repairing works on that roof. Firstly, it was very noisy!! Someone was constantly walking on the roof, talking, drilling. This was happening all the time, right after I had checked in, and in the morning of the next day. Despite it being a Saturday and only 8:30 AM! It was terrible. Secondly, dust and wood shavings were falling right into my room, so it was dirty. And thirdly, the workers were constantly by my window, no comfort or personal space. I am very disappointed. After booking the room I had an email to warn me that the room was in the loft space and would have no air conditioning, so I was offered a fan (but no recompense.) There were NO CURTAINS! Since I was there in August it meant that the sun was streaming in from 5am and there was no chance of getting to sleep after that. There was no kettle in the room although I realised later that the kettles are kept in the corridor and must remain there, so you would have to make your hot drink and then walk to your room. I couldn't get the TV to work and I wasn't sure what would happen with getting the room serviced - as it happens it wasn't serviced while I was there but there again I was only there for four nights. I feel the hotel would benefit from having a directory in each room, or at least available in the lobby. The only thing that confused me was a towel as it has stains. There also weren’t toiletries just a bar of soap, but considering the price it’s ok just keep in mind that you need to buy it at the grocery store or bring it with you. Single room really felt like a "single room". No windows, and a bit run down, could do with a fresh painting. Room really really hot, at last floor and in summer was easy to breath pillow as always in poland under aspectative. It would be nice to have shower gel and shampoo in a bathroom, hotel provide only soap. Felt too basic. Access to a fridge would be helpful for a long stay. Access to a fridge. Some of the stuff did not speak English. The location on booking should be changed. You need to go to the front entrance, not where the point is on booking!

What are the guests' opinions on the hotel's unique offerings and customer service?
The receptionists were very nice and it was a pleasure to stay there. The hotel is placed in a very quiet street, no noise at all, the bed is comfortable and I had a really good sleep there. The location, style of the property, great breakfast, parking. The staff at the reception of Dom Sonata was really nice. Everything else was just fine the location, the spacious room and it was quiet and very clean. The room has a good size, the place is very close to the old town and there is a 24/7 supermarket just 3 min away from the accommodation. also plenty of options of restaurants and cafes. It is not a ‘real’ hotel. But very much value for money. Rooms and facilities fair, rooms good enough. Excellent location and free, safe, parking. Considering the place is a dormitory, it is excellent. Especially at this very attractive price! Looking for hotel service e.g. don’t book this. The location was good. Not many staff spoke English but were friendly. Access to a fridge would be helpful for a long stay. Staff. Cleanliness. Great location, nice room. Beds were comfortable, location was good. Friendly staff, despite the language barrier. Clean room and good location. Perfect place for rest in a beautiful building close to all attractions of Gdansk. Super friendly people, who work 24 hours, which is rather a rare find. Excellent deal for the price. I kind of like places that keep their spirit without falling into the trap of comfort tourism. If you want such a place, a little run down, but authentic, then that´s the place to go. The breakfast at Dom Musica was good but the staff was rather unfriendly when you came over from Dom Sonata as a paying guest. The staff at the reception of Dom Sonata was really nice. Everything else was just fine the location, the spacious room and it was quiet and very clean. The location was good. There was no breakfast or other bonus. The only need was to sleep one night and take a shower, so the accommodation was ok. The room was basic, but comfortable enough for a short stay. Very close to the city center, nice staff, very clean. Good value for money, room clean and adequate. Staff very friendly.
