Breakfast was good and varied, well catered for. Dining and sitting areas very spacious indeed
Out of the control of this hotel was the adjacent, very very loud town church clock which chimes every quarter hour through 24 hours! Guests need rest above all and this was actually very intrusive, especially as the modern church itself is a very new addition to this very old and otherwise quiet and quaint village.
Owners/personnel VERY welcoming and assisting. Felt made welcome without going over the top. Hotel is as advertised although the shared spaces exceeded my expectations. Nice to be able to "do my own thing" on-site. Location of the hotel not so special; but quaint nature of the hotel compensates for this. Honesty system for registering drinks in the bar/lounge area fits the place. Nice.
Rooms a bit warm (in a glass house... so not so strange I guess).
Very cosy and interesting place to stay. Feels like home and it is definitely something different than other hotels (or B&B's). The owners very very helpful and it was really nice to stay in the garden working.
Only negative point was (and it was not hotels mistake) the church bells those were ringing every 15 minutes. Horrible! So if you are light sleeper, I can't recommend the place.
Quirky and unusual. Honesty bar!
