The staff helped me a lot with picking me up from the airport and with all transportation
Very nice and clean apartment. Maxim checked us in and he is a fantastic host. The bakery outside the building is absolutely fabulous!
The communication was a little broken and confusing. Sometimes the traveler doesn't know exactly at what time they will arrive. So it was hard getting a hold of the host. Maybe better instructions should be given. However, once I got a hold of him, he promptly arrived to give us the keys and was very nice.
Great interior design, cosy rooms, fully equipped, best shower cabins ever, pleasant and friendly owner, great location near metro and shops/cafes, safe area.
They couldn't arrange tourist registration.
This is a typical "Mini-Hotel" - Russian for a large ex-communal apartment completely renovated and transformed into a few rooms with shared restroom and bathroom (although some rooms at a higher price may come with facilities in some of these mini-hotels). The best thing about this type of accommodation is that you can't beat the return on investment on these ones (if having your own bathroom is not a deal breaker). Specifically, the Zanevsky hotel turned out to be a very pleasant surprise, from the extremely nice and helpful owner to the newly renovated room and kitchen area which has everything you might need and spot clean shower and bathroom. The mattress did feel a bit on the hard side, but it seemed new so more a matter of personal taste, I suppose. Somehow, the place just felt cozy, unlike other similar places I stayed in in the past, so it earns extra points in my book. This being an ex-apartment, the hotel is located inside a regular residential building. The owner was even kind enough to drive me to the train station when I checked out at no extra charge - now that's great service! Bottom line: I would definitely recommend staying there!
The location is a bit off the main touristy areas (although the Lavra is just a (long) bridge away), but next to the Novocherkasskaya (good luck trying to pronounce that one) Metro station and other public transport that can easily get you there. Plus, Taxis in Russia are so cheap (Yandex Taxi is a popular app you can use), that it's really not that big of a deal.
