The neighborhood is marginal, and with a room on the 4th floor, you get a lot of noise well into the night. Only two elevators were working for almost 20 stories, with a wedding reception going on... made for really long waits.
evryyhing was good
Verry nice hotel, great location with a lot of accommodations. Don't let the price scare you, well worth it. Woke up with a back ache, bed was not as comfortable as I would have expected. Access to wifi should be included, but you have to pay extra.
Amazing stay at beautiful clean hotel with courteous staff! I would highly recommend this hotel!!! Next time we visit my daughter we will definitely be staying there. Place was extremely clean and staff couldn't do enough to make you happy! Haven't stayed in a place that was outstanding in cleanliness with amazing staff in years!!!
The attitude of the staff was wonderful. Above and beyond. It had a full service feel - staff only, not the facility, and certainly not the scary parking lot. It simply was not as high end as I expected. I have had two kids attend college closeby, and I always dreamed of being able to afford staying at the Omni. We decided to splurge on our last night there after checking our of a rental house in the area. I guess I built it up in my head that it would be like a Four Seasons or something really nice, but it was no better than the Marriott or the New Haven Hotel which are half the price or less. Disappointing! I was totally unimpressed with the bedding especially, it was like a flash back to the 90's!
Convenient location , comfy beds abundant towels , great conference areas. Lacking amenities like pool and expensive parking very cold unable to change room temp
The place is gorgeous! And the rooms were really nice! It's more a trend. When you get a budget room, so many amenities are included. When you splurge for some luxury, I feel like you are charged for everything. Breakfast was not included, wifi costs extra, parking was $20 per day. Elevators seemed a bit slow and there's only one of the 3 that go to the garage levels.
Staff was incredible
The bed is AMAZING. That has to be the best sleep that I have had in a very long time. The hotel is in the heart of the city and apparently does not have sound proof walls so it is very noisy all the time however they do leave ear plugs on the night stand to compensate.
The local restaurants & night life The elevators was fairly noisy & in constant use. The shaft was behind our room. An international convention of United Nations Ambassadors at the high school level was taking place hence, the elevators were at peak use......
The staff is always very friendly The bathrooms have not been updated.
There isn't really anything nice I have to say about my experience. The location was good. Facility in serious decline. Room should have been $79 a night not $129 for the lack of quality.
It was very easy access to and from the highway and downtown. Always wasn't far from the wedding we were going to. Also the free breakfast was good. The LA Quinta was not very comfortable sleeping. The parking was over crowded and the rooms could use a freshen up.
No deposit. Location is good. Free breakfast foods. Plywood sink front. Old water bottles under tv stand. sound of traffic in the room.
The wallpaper in room was peeling off, stained and moldy looking. The ceiling was stained and poorly patched.
Room was clean. Kind of a rough area. People drinking in the parking lot. A lot of screaming and yelling in hallways at night.
Good for a short stay. Great location. Perfect for what we needed and at the price it was.
The Staff was great friendly and helpful. When I got to my room the ceiling had hair stuck to it and the bathroom sink was broken. I tried to use the fitness facility and they had no towels, no wipes and the tv was turned up very loud and there was no remote in site.
There's a shuttle available to pick you up from Union Station, which is close by but not exactly walking distance. Their staff is SUPER friendly and really have that New England-region pride of their city and the area. Their rooms are well-maintained and clean. The view toward Long Wharf/Pier and the New Haven harbour - outstanding, I really love the view of a harbourfront! There wasn't much to dislike, but important things to point out was that, upon entering the room, there was one single moth flying around - it didn't make any appearance again after the first night, so I wasn't too bothered by it. The only other oddity that I had to double-take on was the choice of toilets in the room - it was one of those industrial toilets - not that I have a problem with it, but it just wasn't the best choice (plus, the noise that can be heard from your neighbours with the same toilet makes it feel like literally being in a bathroom stall.)
The whole hotel had a complete overhaul, as did our room. The smell of fresh paint and carpet... Love it. The rooms were spacious, absolutely spotless, (almost) everything brand new, great big beds with lots of pillows. I couldn't understand why they would choose to have such a big renovation, obviously everything was well designed and good quality, only to leave the old shower floors in! Especially as ours was actually quite worn and grubby. The combination of old browning plastic with shiny new marble is not my idea af a design feature...
friendly staff, quick checkin/out, clean rooms, great location AC was set to 60 deg but never got below 72-75.. and the bed wasn't overly comfortable.
The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable Having to pay extra for parking
Facilities are modern and up-to-date. Very clean. Parking fees are not included in booking prices
The room is clean, tidy with nice furniture, hdtv and comfortable mattresses. The hotel is currently under renovation. Therefore, the gym is not available, which is listed in the web site.
Location to Yale. Clean. Expensive parking.
Everything was very clean, and the rooms are quite nicely appointed. Most of the staff was very nice, too (there was just one check-in person who I found a bit rude). No breakfast included - even of the most basic kind. It's located on a somewhat dicey street. The workout facilities were minimal. The views from the room were ugly, and a bright light from the garage comes in unless you use the full blinds.
Location in downtown New Canaan Someone is apparently in it for the money only here, the New Haven Hotel offers no value and certainly no "caring" attitude. For that it charges too much at $ 159 per night. You get: - Good downtown location. - Clean room, good size. - Thin walls, to hear the neighbors, and everyone from the hallways. - Mattresses of dubious quality. - Breakfast, a stale buffet in a dark 2nd floor room, is an unfriendly reminder that nobody cares, and at $ 13.99 someone wants to make good money. - Self parking at the Temple Garage at $ 20 overnight, when the public rate is $ 16, no value add, just a surcharge by the hotel. Staff could have pointed out that there is a free parking on weekends around and across... - Very friendly and helpful receptionist, one person only. And Housekeeping knocking at the door at 9am on a Sunday morning makes this a bit of a bad dream in New Haven. Good luck!
Front desk staff was very hospitable and friendly. When I asked for a room modification instead of acting like it was nuisance they happily looked into it and ended up accomodating. The room was clean and very comfortable. I will definitely be returning!
A clean renovated hotel just a few blocks walk from Yale's old campus and art galleries. The breakfast buffet was inexpensive and ample and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
People and staff were very nice while they are going thru renovation. There were college athletic teams also in the hotel that weekend..They ran up and down the halls till 3:00 am and to my knowledge no one ever asked them to hold the noise down.A constant party till about 3 or 4 am then they would all go into their rooms and go to sleep.Very annoying.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Only paper cups provided for coffee in the room. When we asked at the restaurant and front desk we were told that there were no other cups available. The housekeeper, however got us some regular cups.
Clean rooms and lobby, courteous staff. This hotel was what you'd expect from a Courtyard. I went to see Yale with my daughter and the hotel was only convenient to the schools athletic facilities. nice area though! I didn't like paying for self- parking in an outdoor lot. There was a covered section but it was full. Once parked, I had a longish walk back to the lobby with my bags. The basic wifi is free. Hi-speed is $5.95. The basic was fine for slow-surfing the internet but to stream a movie, you might need to upgrade.
I traveled with my husband and teenage son - we stayed in the 2 room loft - it was awesome space for all of us! Had a small kitchen with fridge - but most important we each had out own bathrooms. Cont breakfast was very decent. We didn't use the amenities. Easy on and off freeway which we did need. We had no views - but didn't care - that wasn't why we were staying there. Would recommend!
Pool & Dinner was included, Perfectly wheelchair suitable,
Room, itself, was nice and it was quiet. Although check-in is known to be at 3pm we arrived early from Norwalk area at 11am and then went to the front desk again ar 2pm and they never tried to be accomodating to us but just told us it was not guaranteeed until a 3pm arrival. The housekeep[ng staff should try to accomodate someone who is already at the locatiuon versus their traditional room-to-room approach. We did not get into the room until 3:15-3:30pm.When tyou pay over $200/nihgt, I'd lik ethe staff to try to be more accomodating.
Room very confortable, nice breakfast, ideal for family A little bit outside the city, no restaurants close by
Nice room with plenty of space. Courteous and friendly staff. We didn't stay for long but it was a good stay. The room was clean and neat. I would definitely stay there again.
Clean, comfortable bed Noisy AC system, weird thermostat, it gets really cold then really hot, without me changing the temperature
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, completary breakfast, a home away from home. Not many night life attractions, but isn't hotels fault.
Room reeked of smoke, was dirty and outdated, and the unit next door held a party from 2-4 am with shouting and fighting that spilled over into the parking lot. On top of that, front desk was understaffed and slow, parking lot was crowded, and stairs to second floor unit was outside.
Spacious suite, room enough for 2 adults and 2 grown-up children; nice and relaxed atmosphere, everything we needed during this 2-nights stay!
We arrived just as the snow arrived. It was delightful to have a fireplace and space to relax with people during the storm. Loved the selection of teas available in the lobby in the afternoon and the waffles at breakfast in the morning. Would have enjoyed having an Earl Grey in the tea selection . ;>)
The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and pillows. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, especially the waffles. We also enjoyed the complimentary popcorn. The room was very clean and efficient, but the decor was a little "tired".
Good rate for a room with a full kitchen - Main lobby building and breakfast area was very nice with a nice outdoor patio. They accept pets. Rooms are pet friendly, but they stick you in the back corner with the other pet owners - There is also a $75 charge for pets. Some of the residents who live long term at the Village Suites were a little sketchy. New Haven town is also a little sketchy - The only nice area we found was near the old Yale campus.
Hair between the sheets on both beds. Bedspreads were stained and looked dirty.
Extremely nice and helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms for very low prices. Also right off 91 so easy to get where you want to go!
It was only 10 minutes away from my destination. They had a decent sized refrigerator in the room. The free wifi was a joke; I never successfully pulled up a website after 15 minutes. The bathtub had some worrisome cracks and the general state of the place was fairly rundown. The free breakfast? We went down at 830 am. They had runny oatmeal, 1 Apple and, yes, 1 piece of bread. There were 2 cereal options. They were out of bith sugar and cram for the coffee and when I asked if they were replishing the buffet, they looked surprised. My family had to leave and eat elsewhere. We tried to check in 2 hours early and were told it would be an extra $30 a room fee. So when we came later in the evening instead (around 9 pm), the guy at the desk was rude and said he was done for the night and wouldn't answer questions such as when is checkout? We booked about a month in advance and they didn't even put our two rooms next to each other, disappointing when you have children. All I can add, is we picked a cheaper hotel and had a place to lay out heads and that was about all.
I was afraid that I was going to walk into the room and it was going to be gross. It wasn't. They had clean sheets and a cute bed spread on each bed. I was only there for one night because I was attending a wedding in the area. It was perfect for a one night stay. I don't suggest going here if you are looking for great vacation sleep. It was a bit loud. You could hear noises from outside very clearly. Thats not something Days Inn can control, just though Id mention it for anyone whom is a light sleeper.
comfortable bed and continental breakfast is satisfying shower floor is slippery and the heating/cooling unit needs to be upgraded
Employee at desk very nice. The heat didnt work. Pillows very used uncomfortable.
Needs newer TVs
Very long walk to room. Included breakfast was sparse to non existent. definitely needs attention.
Pool Fitness room very small
I mentioned the breakfast was out of many items and the staff (a dark complected girl) said I was a racist!!. I was with my dark husband and I am white. It had NOTHING to do with racism. When I took out my phone to record her, she called the police saying I had no right to record her. The general manager (Rohit) came and we waited all morning to get our chance to speak with police who said we did nothing wrong. The General manager said he would comp our 2 day stay as his breakfast worker wrongly accused me of being a racist and ruined our day dealing with her. She further lied that she called police because my husband told her she should not have played the race card for no reason and it scared her. (not true, she called police because I was recording her) After telling me he would comp our family for wasting our day, the manager later put all charges back on our family's account that he said he would credit, AFTER we left and refused to speak with us until now! Even after we proved his worker lied to him about the events. By calling me a racist just because of the color of my skin IS racist on HER part. By the way, our children are all of mixed race. Front desk was outstanding here and went the extra mile. Shuttle driver and restaurants staff were also stellar.
Access to hotel was easy and good. Staff made quick changes to an unsatisfactory initial room. Initial room was supposed to be non-smoking - however the room smelled of smoke and the bed (foot/shoe cover) has burns in it. This room was a ground floor room and less than 10 feet from the air-conditioner were people outside smoking ... which made the smell worse.
The staff were all accommodating and helpful. I really appreciated their friendliness and willingness to help. The location was also a plus. My room had an overwhelming odor of ammonia. There were spots on the bed especially that smelled like cat urine. The comforter was not clean and many of the towels had a funky smell. The carpet had wet spots throughout the room, and overall the facilities felt unclean.
convenient to highway and colleges Staff checking in was not friendly and was not helpful. I had trouble using my AAA when booking room. Upon arrival I explained to clerk. He flat out told me it was too late. He did not try to help, he did not make any effort to see if he could apply the AAA discount or ask a manager. I have stayed in enough hotels where this gesture is the norm. I will not be returning to this hotel when I visit my son at college.
Pillow top bed Little noisy
Leaving Hookers, cigar smoke and loud parties. Paper thin walls, terrible bathroom. I wanted to take a shower after taking a shower in that shower. Who knows what was on the bed comforter. Turn on the TV and the first thing the TV system attempts to sell you is an adult movie. The real treat was when the guy in the room next to me had a hooker come to his room. The art of negotiation for a $20 favor was a bit elementary but hearing him finish was a sound I can't stop hearing.
Greeted by all friendly staff. Aaa card welcomed with a discount and a smile. Forgot everything and needed all complimentary toiletries and they were a huge help. Breakfast...well balanced and tasty. Something for everyone. Great coffee. Lovely staff. Clean rooms. Big bathroom. We loved the signs on the elevator (one man's junk...another treasure type quote, car pooling." A great surprise since we were looking up hotels by location and cost. We will definitely go back. Thanks to all. I Seemed to be trying to encourage a more "green" environment in regards to laundry and things in the breakfast area were recyclable. However, we couldn't tell if the disposable trays, plastic ware, etc. Really were going to be recycled. We appreciated the effort and still felt a little concern for the amount of waste. And we appreciate that there is an effort. It was a great stay. Thank you.
shower pool was dirty, didn't have towels, restroom sink/toilet? (didn't look, just reported) overflowing windows so dirty couldn't see out of them staff only miminimally concerned about pool
Comfortable rooms and beds with individual thermostats and a spacious bathroom. The hotel is conveniently located relatively close to everything. Courteous and attentive staff. The free breakfast was mediocre to low quality; though they did change out the options daily, the options were few. The eggs were bland and made with egg-beaters as opposed to fresh eggs, and without salsa/tobasco (my preference) I didn't have anything to put on them to make them taste any better besides pepper, which didn't help much - similar issue with the cheese omelets. Also, while fresh fruit was available the first day, it was not changed out daily and by the time we left the bananas had gone brown.
Location Falling apart Filthy Noisy
this hotel has been used as a shelter for the city !!!
It's really old and dingy, needs to be updated and cleaned. I didn't have hot water had to change my room and was locked out in the middle of the night when staff changed had to get a new key. They need more than bleach and fabuloso
Checking out Room door didn't close properly the rug was wet the room smelled of mothballs trying to cover up the smell of the four dogs that belonged to the last tenant just by walking on the carpet with my socks turned the bottoms black stillsomedogfoodon the floor
The peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and the breakfast buffet were the perfect touch to begin the day refreshed. No.

Everything was as per the expectation. Good for the price. Staff is good and helpful as I had left my jacket there and they called me about that and I got my jacket back.
Leaving Everything about it I disliked floor was dirty the door didn't lock properly it's stunk like mothballs there was dog food remnants in the room overall it's stunk and should've been condemned

Good size room. Bed and linens were clean and firm. Only one minus, was TV did not have a remote, otherwise everything was good. Staff was super, as I was coming in late and street signs are not so good, they talked me right in to the Inn. Nice people.
Very filthy front lobby stinks of old mildew and cigarette smoke lobby desk attendant unprofessional while inquiring about the facility he continued on his personal conversation on his cell phone
The staff was pretty nice, especially the cleaning staff. My room was bug-infested. The floor was sticky. A cop staked out the hotel for most of one day. All in all: shady and gross. Do not stay here, no matter how tempting the prices are! I left early and moved to a much nicer hotel!
Nothing A complete fraud. Made the reservation through Kayak and received a price. Show up, and the guy behind the bullet proof glass says "There is a error with the rate, I cannot honor it". I ask him what the new rate is, and he says $ 79.99, which was more than double what the rate I had confirmed from Kayak. I decided to go elsewhere, especially after the guy just rented a room for "a couple of hours" to a lady who was "working". Place is a dump, in a bad neighborhood. Do not stay there!
The price is too high for one night. I should had got a discount for same day booking or a cheaper price if you left way before the time you supposed to be out.
The only good thing about this place as the housekeeper. Very friendly, leaving the room always clean also with enough towels. The location is bad, the entrance is creepy it doesn't look thT there is a hotel in that area especially if you don't know the area. They offered " Continental breakfast" which was a joke : coffee, creamer, white bread ( the only choice), butter, jelly, and cereal, REALLY. The room needs a renovation big time. It was very old. Bathroom door doesn't close. The sink in the bathroom was liking day and night so the first night I couldn't realized where the noise was coming from. So the second night I had to pu it a towel to minimize the noise in order to sleep. Bad experience in this place.
Price was ok Kind of plain and rundown, entry roof looked like it was falling apart, breakfast not made by people but instead powdered eggs and not much there. I've stayed in better best westerns
Ok first off I commute to CT from NJ on the weekends for work, it's near a 2 hour drive and then working 12 hours to do it all over again takes a toll on your mind. Not having to drive back for one night was incredible, words can not describe how arete that felt. The hotel is within 5 minutes of my job. It's location is perfect, sitting next to many different places to eat and have a drink, close to many package store(Why do you guys call it that) and close to I-95. For the rate I had this was an amazing deal, had a great fridge and microwave, tv was better than my home one, breakfast in the morning was alright and I did love the variety of choices it did give. Staff was beyond friendly and helpful, always smiling. Free parking with security cameras was great seeing that I had many computers in my car it made me feel very secure. Water pressure in the room was great and the pillows were great as well. All around really great hotel, I'd recommend it to anyone in the area. Towels need to be thicker, used like 3 to dry myself. Add a light near the entrance because the beginning of the parking lot was sketchy.
Privacy, fast check in No complainta
The staff was friendly. The bathroom had hair and a used nose strip on the floor. one of those breath rite strips.
Warm and comfy All the outlets weren't accommodating for all plugs. Internet mixed with two other locations that were in close proximity. No change machine for the laundry. Vending machines were all empty.
Clean, Quiet. Nice room. Yes. Coffee pot didn't work. Asked to have it replaced the next morning-agreed. Didn't do it. Asked again 2nd-Never corrected Worn TV connections made for bad reception When asked didn't fix- Old wiring in room seemingly effected everything on that wall
every thing perfect
It was adequate for our needs. The free breakfast was decent and bountiful. Free Internet in the room was great. The decor was hideous.
Good location clean and comfortable enough I got a good deal but its generally overpriced and could use updating
The gentleman at the front desk was very informative and friendly. The room and bath were clean. The hotel is undergoing some updates in its public areas, which is good, as it's pretty threadbare and dated. The entryway and parking lot were poorly lighted. As a woman traveling alone, this was not optimal. The external entries (not meaning front door) had no security measures, like entry with card key only. There is no elevator to upper floor rooms.
Right off the highway. Close to restaurants.
The staff were great, every one of them was pleasant and helpful. Location is convenient to I-95. Rooms are a good size. Wide variety of breakfast options. Cookies and coffee in the evening. The pool was warm and attractive. Didn't try the whirlpool. Towels in the pool area could be a little larger.
good price and excellent breakfast nothing

The front desk employee is amazing. Great service. Will go back again.
Good breakfast, large room, friendly front desk person Room we had seemed to be missing carpet padding in a section of the room, and we received a complaint about 'kids running around' despite normal activity, so found ourselves on tiptoes entire stay. Didn't stop neighbors from being loud watching TV.
Clean, comfortable, convenient location, in-room refrigerator, decent free breakfast. Liked the fact a large wedding party was put on the first floor while other guests were put on the upper floors. I would stay here again. Having an in-room microwave would have been nice
It's a place to sleep and safe Smell of the room
Convenient location. Very uncomfortable mattress left me with back problems for 1-2 days. Very poor TV selection.
The room was clean recently remodeled The wood flooring and lack of padded chairs made the room seem cold. Had to pay for WiFi and it hardly worked. Plus could only log on 1 device at a time
The location was good. Outside of New Haven but easy to get to. It was very inconsistent if we would get to shower with hot water or not.
I liked friendly staff. You have the best breakfast from 6 motels in the area that I stayed over the past 3 months. Rooms are clean and cozy. There was no microwave in the room. Everybody were using 1 microwave from breakfast area. 2 would be better.
first room had some one in it, the clerk was clueless the second room heater stopped working after an hour the clerk said there was no maintenance and it was not that cold finally got a new room that was okay two hours after we checked on DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL I HAVE BEEN HERE THREE TIMES BEFORE-ALWAYS A NIGHTMARE
Absolutely nothing There were bed bugs and the smell of mold in a room. The gym was disgusting I don't think it ever had been cleaned. Nor do I think the bathrooms that were near the gym had ever been cleaned. I'll give him a plus that at least they brought in a new refrigerator as the old refrigerator was full of dirt on the backside
I paid around $60, and it was about worth that. The room was fine - comfy bed. Good water pressure in shower. Very convenient location just off 95. ,I paid around $60, and it was about worth that. The room was fine - comfy bed. Good water pressure in shower. Breakfast was minimal - no fresh fruit and hosted in a crowded hot room. Hallways were very dirty - this hotel would do well to get rid of the carpets and start clean.
Clean rooms good breakfast No refrigerator or microwave in rooms
Right off 95 very convient. Room was clean. Pool & gym. Continental breakfast. Great for a quick stay. Can't beat the price. This hotel draws a creepy group of other guests...... But for the price ($55) I was just looking for a clean place to stay overnight.
Hotel was fine, a little dingy is all
