The location was perfect, it's right on the oceanfront and extremely close to town as well. There is also a 24-hour pool there and laundry facilities.
The bed was very uncomfortable. The food at the restaurant was good, but definitely over priced. Our waiter Dave was terribly slow and the food was definitely a let down. The sound was also awful, we could hear the people in the room next to us talking and walking around. In addition, we attempted to call the hotel desk with no answer so we walk down to the lobby and there are four people standing behind the desk looking at their phones. We will not stay here again.
Ocean front. Resturant
room was run down and screen on window was bent. No fan or air conditioning. Stains in carpet
The location was nice.
I paid $158 for a double bed room with Kayak. When I got to the hotel they said they could only get me in a one bed queen room. There were 3 of us and do we needed two beds. So the Shilo manager said they couldn't get me in a room without me paying more money. So I had to pay the hotel $55 more dollars for what I thought I already paid for. Never will I do this again or stay at the Shilo!
Kayak sold me an excecutive suit with two rooms, a kitchenette and street view balcony which to me was fine since I wasn't planning to be in the room for long periods of time. Well when I arrived we got a room with the kitchen and nothing else!!! I was upset when I walked into the room because we where a group of 4, when I went down stairs and described the issues they just blamed Kayak for false advertising and gave me a twin bed when the room I paid for was suppose to have two king beds!! Never again staying there I spent 400 plus tax on a room worth no more then $190 with tax included. The hall ways are way updated, the room had garbage in them and the elevators would freeze. Not to the stay I was looking forward too!
I enjoy Shilo, the 24 hr pool and the free wine tickets are great for a young couple having fun at night.
I didn't care for the customer service. I'm personally work in the field and the service is not outstanding. Bed wasn't for me, but I'm picky and I know that so it doesn't count.
You can hear everything going on outside of your room and in the adjoining rooms. Very disappointed. It was very difficult to sleep once people started moving around outside and talking in the hallway.
The location was fantastic! We could walk to everywhere, the parking was easy and free. The view of the ocean was amazing. We felt free to let our grade-school age boys be kids. They spent hours in the pool and sauna and steam room when it rained and we loved being able to watch the ocean out the huge windows while they played.
The beds were HORRIBLE. The support was so bad that you could see the middle sagging down before you even tried to lay on it. The kids didn't mind but it almost ruined the trip for my husband because he was so tired and sore.
The room was comfortable with a mini kitchen. The beds were also comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked questions. We were able to check in 4 hours early which was a bonus. Had a room with a balcony which faced the ocean. Left the slider open and was lulled to sleep by the ocean's roar.
Could not use the fireplace as it made a terrible noise. Did not feel safe with it on. There was something wrong with the HD channels while we were there but was informed they were going to fix the problem the day after we were scheduled to leave.
I wanted a place right on the beach.
I went on the off season thinking it would be quiet and relaxing. Some little boy basketball thing was going on. It was not quiet. Someone was banging on the door across the hall at midnight. There was a used glass in my room. The room was really small. I had paid the same price for twice the space lower down the coast. I had never stayed in Seaside before and I don't plan on ever staying in Seaside again. This made the last day of my vacation un-relaxing. I left for home the next day with a headache.
Beachfront property right at the end of the promenade with private parking is nice. We had a kitchen with balcony overlooking the ocean.
Facility feels old and worn. Lobby smelled of fried food. Exercise room equipment is minimal and the one machine was nonfunctional. One of the two elevators was broken. Front desk staff could have used some customer service polishing. Beds were too soft for my taste.
The room was stuffy and overly warm with no way to cool it down. The staff wasn't the friendliest and failed to accommodate when requested.
The maintenance department needs authorization from management to do their jobs. The front desk area was extremely slippery due to all the sand on the tile floor. The railings on the second floor were absolutely filthy. Hadn't been wiped down recently (ever?). The bar did not have a bottle opener. The only one in the hotel had to stay at the front desk. The outside stairwells could use a good high pressure washing. The maintenance man actually thanked me for putting trash in the garbage can. He said most guests that stay there would have just thrown it on the ground.
The hotel is right on the beach. You can walk out of the restaurant and be right on the promenade. It is also at the heart of the downtown attractions. Parking was really convenient and there was plenty of space even on the weekend. The front desk staff was really nice and very accommodating. Because there is no air conditioning, we called and asked if there was a fan available. They brought us one within 10 minutes. The 24 hour pool was really nice too. The first day we swam it was freezing cold, but we later learned they had just refilled the pool. Later on our stay the pool was very cozy and comfortable. The steam room and sauna were nice as well. The bathroom was big, with a fan, and updated.
The pictures online were incredibly misleading. Most of the pictures are of the ocean front suites. We were in a regular room and it was tiny. The carpet was so old that I didn't feel like I could walk on it with bare feet. The TV was old and the channels weren't all in focus. The walls are super thing which meant we could hear everything outside our room. The hotel needs to be updated. This hotel doesn't have an air conditioner which adds to the quietness. We asked for a fan and they did bring us one, but it was covered in gunk and grime and something red/pink (koolaid?) had been dripped all over it. The maids left us new towels everyday even though we hung them up according to the recycling standard card and came at really weird times. Not that big of a deal, it just added to my frustration. The pool never had towels. I had to request them every time we went down. Not a big deal, just annoying.
The ocean front view was spectacular. Close to all the shops and eateries. We had a great time, enjoyed the balcony views and location with free parking. Would book there again!
We did have to ask for extra towels, even though we were booked for 3 adults, there were only 2 towels/washcloths and shampoos etc. Also our card keys were disabled before we checked out so we had to have cleaning staff let us back into our room. Small inconveniences all quickly remedied, so all in all a great stay.
Great view, location, and pool.
Air conditioning would have been nice. The room cooled off when the door was open, but we felt weird about leaving it open when we were sleeping and out of the room.
rooms are severely outdated. no air conditioning which I didn't think would be a big deal since it was only 70 or but the room was so stuffy and hot even opening the window didn't help. I will never stay there again
Convenient location, beachfront, view of beach, Large room, it had a kitchen which would be nice if I wanted to cook.
Room was dirty. The room didnt look anything like it was supposed to. We heard everything from the next room. The mmirror had writing on it and there was dust all over the cups. We went to breakfast got told it was free then all of a suddon we have $30 bill.
