The beautiful setting, the excellence of the facilities, the friendliness of the staff and the proximity to the town and beach.
nice and cosy environment, good taste in decoration, helpful staff
Very good location, extremely nice staff. I didn't have a laptop with me, so when I asked about checking my email, they even let me in one of their ofices tu use their director's computer.
The hotel is in close proximity to the town centre and the metro station if wanting to get to Porto, although there is a short steep climb to get to it, staff were on the whole polite, friendly. The waitresses in the hotel were wonderfully attentive. Breakfast was continental style and well stocked and always plenty of space. The room was clean and respectfully comfortable. The hotel does need some modernisation, especially in the health suite area and decoration in the room Food in the restaurant was usually good, but expect very large portions and a lot of butter. It isn't always easy to get served in the bar area as staff are also serving in the restaurant at the same time so you have to be patient.
free internet good breakfast and meals all staff speak good english affordable restaurant with good wines , goed onbijt en diners betaalbaar restaurant met good-food en prima wijn wearing of rubber cap in swimmingpool is absurd there are plenty filters and pumps to clean the water, some people have more pubic hair than whats under the cap , some more outside space woulkd be nice there is no real garden near the pool outside pool would be nice also, the vieuw could be better if they kept the plants a little smaller , further no comments nice hotel
The modern architecture in a very quiet environment A very basic breakfastbuffet. Although price-quality was good it could have eventually a bit more variety.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, excellent room with great views
Well located if hiring vehicle to visit unspoilt surrounding area. Walking distance to beach and town.
Pictures don't show how the hotel really is. Room was not cleaned properly.
excellent food 5* quality, lovely modern hotel, immaculate throughout
Beautiful hotel, good facilities, welcoming
The very friendly and accomodating reception and bar staff. The Prices of food and drink in the hotel were very fair considering that it is a 4 star Hotel with very attractive modern interiors. There was an outside relaxing, breezy seating area overlooking the town nearby . The spa area and pool for guests was particularly well appointed. A very healthy breakfast was included. The quiet rooms with double glazing. And, very important for our needs that first night,it was very easy to locate the Hotel by hire car straight from Oporto Airport, and a short walk into the old town for sight seeing.
Free internet access No internet access working in the rooms
The use of the spa and gym were included in the price. The breakfast buffet had loads of choice including sparkling wine. The room was comfortable and clean. The Jacuzzi was not working properly.
The hotel was clean and well appointed, including secure car parking. The restaurant was excellent. The ambience was a little muted so not a great holiday experience, i.e. Hotel C is more a business than a holiday hotel. Also, the Spa was overpriced and poor.
Nice and Modern. Very nice bathroom with a very good shower. Only one chair in the balcony. There were a lot of flys in the breakfast room
The rooms are nice. The spa fantastic. The breakfast very good. The staff bice. Also has a fairly well equippe gym.d Location isn't so great, but for us this was not really a problem. Beach is 15-20 min walk, city is 10 min walk.
Nice modern hotel. The hotel is near a busy road and there was excessive road noise.
Cozy and stylish rooms. Nice ambience. Free internet access. Bar could be extended with some additional healthy food and wellness drinks. Internet access allthough free, not working in the rooms.
Location in middle of town.10 mins walk to river. 15 mins walk to beach.parking outside hotel Noise from road at back of hotel, cobbled road. no double glazing.( only at front) church bells every hour- very nearby not nice if a light sleeper.
Arrived very late at night to a very calm and quiet check-in after a long and involved travel of 15 hours, picking up car from the airport etc. Somehow it set the scene for the stay. Very well located. Parking a huge bonus. A great place to go to as an alternative to bigger Porto.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and most importantly the rooms were very very clean and well maintained.
This was a nice old-fashioned hotel in the middle of Vila do Conde. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was generous and good.
Lovely hotel comfortable rooms very friendly man on reception who recommended a very good restauarnt nearby and served us drinks in the comfortable lounge when we returned.
the service provided by the staff the air conditioning did not work
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean. The hotel's breakfast was very good and varied, with cereal, milk, apple juice, orange juice, water, fresh rolls and pastries with butter and jelly, ham, cheese, and something like chorizo, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee, tea, and yes, a functional toaster oven. The town was very cute and laid back, and lots of restaurants, bars and clubs near the hotel were open late. There is a beautiful beach within a 5 to 10 minute walking distance of the hotel (the sand is very coarse though, so you might want to bring some water shoes). There are also two metro stations that are only about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. We will def stay there again! This didn't really affect our stay, but some people might find it more important/annoying than we did: the rooms are outdated and smell like some little old lady's house (open a window). There was a safe in our room, but the person at the front desk said it was out of order. The toilet made a loud, strange sound for 15 to 20 seconds each time we flushed it. We went in June, and there was music playing outside from around 10:00/10:30 am until midnight from speakers mounted around town. You learn to tune out the noise of the music, though, and with the windows closed in the hotel, it's really not that loud. Still, if you're a light sleeper, ask for a room that's not overlooking the main street because the cars are very loud.
Extra charges for use of facilities, Ie swimming pool.
Most of the staff were very attentive and helpful in their suggestions of how to get around the surrounding area, and especially when we lost a wallet - they made many attempts to get it back and despite being unsuccessful we really appreciated it.
Very comfortable athmosphere Pool closed (bad weather)
Good price - value ratio It is a good hotel, but definitely not 5 star by any standards
I stayed at the pool floor, on the top level, renewed and with a superb view over the city, with a nice swimming pool that should be terrific... during summer time:) I made a mess of my suit during dinner, and I asked if they could clean it up in the hotel laundry. I found out lather on that they didn't felt comfortable clean it, as that was not their specialty, so they took it out to a professional dry cleaning. thank you! Forget facilities, great service, wonderful people, is the true spirit of 5 stars hotels, and Ipanema Park staff has it.
The price was reasonable and the hotel was decently close to the center of town. The room was quite old looking and really needs a face-lift. The location was constantly filled with aggressive pan-handlers.
Service déplorable. Très loins d'un 5 étoiles.
I did not like to have a drug junkie parking cars in front of the main door at the hotel. Also I did not like to pay to use the pool.
Room and breakfast Price of car parking. They charge full day even if staying just overnight.
The staff are superb! we choose this hotel every time we travel up to Porto.Velean rooms, pleasent staff. There is smoking in the lounge which makes it uncomfortable, as Im alargic, so I cant use the lounge.
Execelent breakfast Carpets in the room and below average bedding. No Tea/Coffee making facility and ironing board not available
Fantastic staff. Good breakfast. Bar and restaurant facilities were good. Could hear everything from the next room. It felt like I was staying in a cheap motel on Interstate 75. Rooms were nice but this is no five star hotel. Very slow internet that was not password protected.
Clean quiet and comfortable with good service and central location within walking distance of the river/seafront with amazing views. Excellent breakfast menu. Restaurant in adjacent building.
The room was very big!!! good breakfast. The furniture is pretty old fashioned...and there isn't any wi fi at the rooms, only in the lobby.
Nice room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast...
the staff was nice and was prepared at any question (ie public transportation, museum hours, etc.). room is a bit old
The hotel was good, it reflected its 4 star status. Reception, restaurant and bar staff first class.
The breakfast was fantastic. The hotel was very nice and staff very friendly. They initially gave us a room with two twin beds and we went back to reception and they immediately changes us to a new room with a big double bed and an extra twin.
breakfast included all the lights didn't work in the bathroom
Free WiFi and a wonderful bartender tending the bar on Friday the 8th around Midnight. The beds were terrible. Hard. In general the room looked 'empty' with even an echo to get one far away from felling anything like in a comfortable room to sleep and relax in.
Hotel was excellent value for money and will be recommended.
Everything, next to all emenities and close to airport.
big room no airport shuttle early morning
The bathroom/bedroom was spacious
No outdoor signs great difficalty in actually finding the hotel, Especially arriving in the dark
lovely and comfort
nice big room and within walking distance of the arrivals hall at the porto airport.
The room was very generously sized and very modern. Because of the large amount of marble and wood used, the room was cold at times. Some rugs or artwork would have made it more pleasant.
The location next to Porto Airport makes it very practical for staying overnight in connection with a flight. The staff was not able to speak German or Spanish.
We took this hotel before an early morning flight departure. All I can say is we wish we turned up earlier. The hotel room was beuatiful and a great big spa directly beside the bed. Also came with an absolutely beautiful cot for our baby- one of the nicest I have ever seen.
The garage arrangement. Steps from elevator to garage were difficult. Hallways were too dark. Food- dinner and breakfast is very poor. It did not taste fresh and was probally not as only 3 other people ate there. I have stayed in 5 hotels in Portugal and Pedras eubas was the worst.
Room was clean and tidy and very close to the airport No, it was o.k.
comfort with luxury
Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Our towels were removed each day by housekeeping and not replaced! We had to keep calling housekeeping to bring us clean towels!
Lovely room. Helpful staff. Short walk to the metro. Breakfast was extra but worthwhile. The blind between the bathroom and bedroom was not working. Room service food was very good, except for the side salad.
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the excellent cuisine and the modern design of the hotel and the rooms.
staff attentive and helpful a little too far from centre for a lengthy stay
Very modern and clean with a good spa and pool and great staff
The actual building- it was fairly new and design was nice. The staff was on the hold quite friendly and helpful. The standard of Sheraton chain is really lacking --this hotel did not provide sufficient umbrellas for guests and did not do anything at all to help guests travel in the rain. The restaurant is quite overpriced and food was not as good. The rooms also did not have robes or slippers until you request for them!
The service is excellent, quick and polite.
Beautiful hotel; great staff; standard room was spacious and well designed; nice spa, gym etc The hotel was located far from the city centre (about 7 euro cab ride - too far to walk).
Very comfortable family two-rooms suite, well sound-isolated, good breakfast with a rich assortiment, the hotel is easy to find from the highway A29 to Porto.
The staff were nice and maybe even too zealous (our towels were changed every day even though we followed the instructions available to signal that we didn't need that). The location was excellent and even after missing the last metro/bus we got back ok after a nice stroll through an extremely chilled-out Porto. It would have been great if some of the lovely Portuguese pastries had made their way into the breakfast menu ... :) However, all the other extremely good things about the hotel (including the good bus connections into town, handy restaurants across the street and supermarket around the back) outweigh anything else.
It is clean, the staff is friendly. There is now gym. The food is terrible.
The helpful staff on reception.
The friendliness and profetional manner in wich we were attended. And the effort ALL staff made to speak to us in English.
Very clean, confortable, wonderful breakfast Nothing
Staff friendliness and relaxed attitude No
Everething was nice and fine No
Nice well located hotel with helpful and friendly staff
friendly helpful staff.
Was upgraded to a very nice room with two balconies for the same price without have to ask. The matresses were a little uncomfortable.
Clean accommodations, professional & courteous staff. Renovation noise directly above us in the morning.
The breakfast buffet was exellent; the front desk staff were very helpful & knowledgeable; the room views were amazing
Good facility and modern design Breakfast
easy acces to the hotel Big noise during afternoon -reconstruction of rooms or what...
The hotel is in a good location and all my group loved the view from the bar
It was just for one night but we had a lovely double room with suite. The breakfast was good. No comment
Room was a good size and had a comfortable bed. Hotel very well situated for sightseeing and close to Metro for easy access to and from the airport. Breakfast adequate but could be improved by better quality food.
The view from my room on 14th floor was great. I enjoyed having music in the bathroom. My room only came with a twin bed and I didn't get a kettle with some coffee/tea options.
Great to chill with a beer in the rooftop bar and terrace after a long trip and late arrival.
All was excellent! All was pleasant!
Great design and services
Staff was excellent, Grappa food was exellent no
The hotel's facilities are fantastic and the staff couldn't be anymore helpful. There was nothing I didn't like about the hotel
The staff was very friendly and happy to serve you. Big spacious room, clean. The breakfast venue was a bit old and the breakfast itself needs to be improved in quality.
all staff very friendly and helpful. we have stayed at this hotel many all staff very friendly and helpful. we have stayed at this hotel many times before n/a
Very nice lounge bar at the top of the building.
The Concierge attendance
Excellent friendly staff, superb comfortable and spacious modern rooms, very clean rooms and very well equipped, very good location, excellent restaurants, especially Grappa Italian Restaurant, very well priced with great value for money.
The room service (including the telephone assistant) was excellent. The hotel can improve with isolation, in order to keep a cooler temperature in bedrooms.
Breakfast The refrigerator in my room wormed drink!!!!
Excellent check in and front desk service Nothing
the comfort of the room and the spa. location and the comfusion with the directions to get to the hotel. Outside of the city center, not convenient location!
very friendlily and useful staff, very clean and comfortable poor service at the breakfast. only one waiter had to do all the work
The hotel was spotless in every way and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good Corridors and rooms were a little dark
a newish hotel a long way from city centre but close to metro but certainly NOT up to the four star rating. This is shown as a four star hotel however no service at breakfast, we had to set our own table, food and coffee were cold and waiter staff of no assistance. Manager finally tried to rescue position by providing next day breakfast in room.
View from balkony Still no free WiFi internet
Hotel was very clean and nice. Breakfast was excellent. Location was only bad issue.
Friendly and efficient staff, very clean room,
Well maintained & comfortable, also a great view Up on a hill
Personal service Poor breakfast
We liked the efficiency and courtesy of the staff and the central location to the fine city of porto and its tourist and business centres. we felt the lounge lacked upright seating and areas for a quiet personal conversation or reading area
The location is excellent right in the centre and in a walking distance to most of the sights. The room was a bit small but comfortable and the bathroom had a window with a nice view of the city. Breakfast was excellent and in my opinion is worth the 9€ they charge. We made a reservation to use the hotel parking and it worked out fine. Nothing that I disliked in the hotel.
Next to the train station
friendly staff; clean room; good location; great hotel overall room was tiny
Good central position
Friendly staff, breakfast (good food and nice view over the city) The double rooms are rather tiny, when choosing the standard room. Nevertheless this was not annoying. During the weekend when it was more crowded the quality of the breakfast was less good; f.i. the fruit bowl contained less different types and less nice fruits.
Excellent location, could walk to everywhere. Friendly staff. Rather sterile bar and restuarant - not a major issue
Restaurant food was bad.
exceptionally friendly hosts who made you very welcome and had a realm of extremely useful local information, excellent home cooking, the beautiful gardens
Very nice people who care to make your stay special. Nice and quiet environment and lots of places to see in the surround.
The hotel was like a breath of fresh air after staying in national branded hotels
We were happy with the beautiful surroundings and the perfect hospitality.
It is a lovely hotel .Clean room , gorgeous gardens. Breakfastwas great. The location, we think, is poor which is a shame as after reading the reviews we expected better. The flights overhead and road traffic were very noisy. We stayed in November, and although had a free standing heater , the room got cold overnight.
The gardens and the relaxed atmosphere. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
We relaxed, spent time with our children who flew in from London. One room was a little musty. But we were able to switch rooms with no problem
Overall atmosphere of the place, sizes of rooms, beautiful large garden, good breakfast Hot water takes 5 mins to come (probably only in some rooms, long pipes), owners dog is superb but you hate him in the morning when he barks:)
Quiet, relaxing, beautiful gardens. Lovely hosts Trying to find it in the dark. Although that was my problem being very tied from flight.
The very friendly owners and the very nice house and garden. Beautiful environment and rooms, full of history and nostalgia. Dinner reservation on location is possible and quality is very good. There is some noise due to planes coming from- or going to Porto airport, but during the night it is quite. Big problem was finding the place. The correct address reeds: Rua Benemerito Antonio Azevedo Santos and not Rua Antonio Azevedo dos Santos as given in the reservation document. Since there are several streets in the area containing words "Antonio", "Azevedo" and or "Santos" in several combinations, the car navigation equipment will get confused and guide you wrong. The car entrance to the parking in the garden is in Rua de Tras.
Like design of the place and the prices. some of the staff people were not very helpful, location is not very convenient.
The building itself is wonderful. The location could not be better. The staff were very helping with everything from recommending a good "non-touristy' restaurant to helping us figure out which port wine to buy.
location of hotel was excellent. it was also.historic and luxury and personels were very helpful....webliked too much. maybe the bathroom needs a little bit renovated.
excellent staff great location
Nice classic old hotel in good downtown location. The only problem is there is a substantial amount of construction on the streets in front of the hotel which is an access problem until they are finished.
Great service, beautifully appointed, very convenient. We appreciated the woman at the front desk who understood we had no interest in bus tours and gave wonderful recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. wifi was finicky.
A wonderful old and formal hotel in the city centre. The courtyard cafe and roof sun terrace were fabulous places to relax.
Cool interior, friendly staff, clean rooms and nice breakfast. Also the location is very good - it is in the city centre so you can just walk to see all sights I was a bit surprised about quality of internet connection - it was very slow and constantly disconnecting. There was too dark in the room, but i think it is by design
The entrance to the hotel was so beautiful and inviting. The hot breakfast wasn't inviting enough.
central location. Nice atmosphere. good breakfast room was a bit small
Noisy bathroom exaustion. Breakfast personel always very busy - simpathetic but not effective(for this level of hotel). Public parking more than 5 min walking distance, not sure if safe at night. No mentiont of this limitation on the hotel page - private parking nearby (100m) closed on wekends??
Hospitality. Comfortable bed. Good buffet breakfast Poor bedroom reading lights. Cost of mini bar
clean rooms; excellent breakfast too expensive internet connection
The entire staff from parking attendant to the cleaning staff everyone was helpful and on top of everything. The room service was absolutely fantastic! The meal was in such a great presentation and very tasty! My personal best experience was the clearning staff. They were so helpful to me, as I had a Maltese Dog, and they understsood how important it was for me to be sure she was happy.
Very helpful and friendly staff Bed and pillows not so comfortable
excellent price for quality location, a bit far from center & even metro is 10 to 15 min walk
The concierge!!!!!! He was Marvellous and his advices were extremely good! The barmaid was really nice also!
Bussiness center with internet conection charged by minut, no sence in this type of hotel.!!! Valet parking 50 euros 2 nights, !!! Bad style
excellent hotel, nice staff helpfull, rooms were perfect nothing
Very good rooms. Very comfortable beds Lack of swimming pool. Believe main air conditioning unit turned off. Fan only operating in room, to give appearance of air con
location everything ok
the location and the pool The staff at the front desk extremely rud
The hotel has signs of being recently re-furbished. I stayed there when previously owned by the Accor group. It is still a very "70''s" hotel - down to the organ player in the bar. But no complaints and ideal for arriving late at Oporto airport if you are travelling north
Room was really comfortable and very clean. My room was on the sea front and had a great view of the ocean as well as the surrounding area like the bull ring.
The closeness to the beach, the size of the room reception staff always helpful. Breakfasts where dis organized and on all the days the full compliment of choice was not available.
Location is excelent. Garden and pool great. Bathroom small, bath very small. Bathroom extract fan out of order.Bed mattress very hard.
