Our hotel reeked of smoke even though it was considered a non-smoking room. I wouldn't have minded except that I have two young children and the hotel was at 100% capacity. Also, $38/night for parking is a little ridiculous.
Probably the most excellent staff at any Hyatt, I have ever stayed. It was my daughter's 9th birthday and they made her feel like a million bucks. Send a card to the room signed my more staff members than I have family. The pools are great. The water slides are even better and the beach is clean and well-maintained. I will be coming back.
Service, food and property was good .Beach location was wonderful
Great location with everything you could ever want in a resort hotel.
The staff was absolutely amazing. So friendly and accommodating. Really made the hotel something special. The shower/bathroom wasn't great, and the walls were paper thin. Also, the bed wasn't very comfortable.
The hotel was clean and location was fantastic. No parking. I was charged a 25$ fee per day as a "resort fee". I have never seen this in my entire life, and this fee was not included when I made the booking. I feel cheated by kayak. Complained to reception at checkout and they said all I can do is email kayak.
Beach front location. Not worth it, deluxe king $536 was dated and noisy on the ground floor. Lots of extra charges - rest fee $25, valet $36, breakfast allowance $75, if two people take the buffet and have a coffee each that's already over the $75 allowance! Rude, defensive front desk. Very unimpressed.
Loved the pools and access to so many things around the hotel The smoke detectors went off at 3:15 am in both the hallway and 1 of our 2 room suite! A neighbor then began yelling at someone else about having a cigarette. We even had to change from our original room due to the lingering smell of smoke from previous guests.
The hotel was very accommodating and the staff was nice. They had all the amenities from beech crushers to surf boards. The kids had fun in the pools and roasting marshmallows. All around great time!!!! The long walk to the room from the lobby!
Close to beach, friendly staff. Was everything I was looking for in a beach side hotel. Wish I was able to stay for longer than one night. I was caught off guard with the $35 mandatory valet fee.
Clean hotel and friendly staff. Great location!
We booked the hotel on a whim during our road trip and were very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the quality and and vibe of the hotel. It was in a great location really close to the beach, food and shopping. Friendly staff. Would stay again! Having to sign up for a membership for the wifi was not ideal.
nice spacious balcony Was given a room on main floor almost directly off common area, but I suppose someone has to get that one... no ice machine on our floor. Balcony separated from neighbors' by a couple of floor planters--not very secure.
Hotel is 1 block from Main Street and view of the pier. Terrific stay.
The people who work here are wonderful. Everyone was friendly and professional. Location is great if you want to be in downtown Huntington Beach. I've stayed at other Kimpton Hotels and found them quirky and charming. This one is a boutique hotel without the charm of a boutique hotel. They also charge a daily resort fee of $25 (plus $3 tax). In no way is this a resort. There is no pool, no spa and if you get a courtyard view room, no view of anything but the courtyard. As someone else noted, the parking fee is hight but it's consistent with charges for all the parking garages in the area.
The hotel is so cute, refreshing and close to the beach! Walking distance to everything! Loved it!! Nothing!
This is a great location in Huntington Beach, across the street from the beach and the pier. We loved the cool factor of the hotel and the modern design. The casual beach atmosphere and friendly staff was a treat. We loved the free use of the bicycles.
Room did not have a couch/pullout bed like it was shown in the picture. Hotel did not want to work with me about switching rooms. Had to ask for blankets to build a bed on the floor.
The hotel's proximity to the beach is great. They have a wonderful restaurant with ocean views--very nice. The walls are paper thin--you can hear everything from people talking to dogs barking (it's a pet friendly hotel). Also, the fridge in the room would start buzzing every hour and wake us up. The staff was not very polite when we asked if we could switch rooms (we paid for a nice ocean view room and instead got an ugly view of a construction site). The driver of the shuttle who took us to Main Street was telling us how much nicer the Hyatt down the street is (next time I'll stay there!).
Reasonably priced. Across the street from the beach. Great staff all around. Only one restaurant on premises.
The manager was awesome!!! So understanding and helpful The pictures did not show what the hotel looks like whatsoever. The lobby and facilities were extremely outdated, although the room was nice. The poolside service was awful-- we asked for water and he brought us bottles water and was going to charge us something like $5 per bottle so I asked for a cup of water instead, which he said they don't serve because "it tastes bad." But he served it to the person next to us. I then went to the bar and got a cup of water. The bartender was also very nice and accomadating!
Staff was friendly The hot tub was closed the entire time. The gym was closed for one of the 3 days we were there. Valet parking is $35/day extra, bike rentals extra...no amenities and not cheap!!!
The room was very large and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and aesthetically pleasing, although I was unable to spend much time there due to a business conference I was attending. I read good things about the restaurant, however, was unable to check it out for the same reasons. I was given the opportunity to check-in before noon and to request additional towels, both of which I selected. However, upon arrival I was told that I was unable to check-in early AND that, even if possible, it would cost an additional $40. Furthermore, I did not receive additional towels. So, my question became, why even offer these things if you're not going to provide them upon request.
Everything about the hotel was really really good. It is such a good value for the money. The beds were very comfortable the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again anytime.
liked the restaurant in the courtyard There were large bugs in our bathroom -- unacceptable
I didn't like much. My experience was horrible here. We were lied to by the staff. Due to their lies, we ended up stranded at the event we were attending. We booked this hotel specifically for the free shuttle, and even made sure of times and venue location that it would all work out. Well, it didn't and the customer service desk did NOTHING to resolve. What an awful experience! I will never stay there again!
I'm a Pastor and I asked for a 1pm checkout due to a wedding ceremony I was performing in Huntington Beach at 4pm. Initially I was told no problem. I called on Saturday morning to confirm and my request was denied. Staff did not apologize, offer any solutions and I was very disappointed.
I was a beautiful place to stay, clean and the staff was great. I would surely go back and stay longer for pleasure this time!!!!!
Reliable excellent service and accommodations! We are always impressed with our experience at Ayres!
Mind blowing! In every way.

I called the day of my check in multiple times and was not able to reach the concierge. I was calling to find out what the parking situation was to determine if I should take a $15 uber from my house. I drove to the hotel and found out it was $35/day!! Parking wayyyy over price. Freaking rediculous. $35????!!! per Day!? I could have taken an Uber there and home for cheaper. Also it was new year's eve and hotel did not prepare for forecasted rain for their nye event. Get some EZ-Ups!!
Nice new location The cost for room service was astronomical. $9 for a child's apple juice, with the added 27% service charge (all in).
Location near the beach and newly built outdoor mall. The rooms were modern with great views. Restaurant, lounge and pool all over look the beach. Called 3 days prior to arrival to plan an early check in. I received an email for pre-check in, where I was prompted to enter my arrival time. Yet for some reason when we showed up at that time our rooms weren't ready and were made to pay $--- per room.
Quality was not consistent at all. My friend and I made identical reservations and paid the same price, but his room was nice and mine was not. Also, he got a free bottle of wine in his room (I did not). The staff was not helpful.

Location was ideal. You can hear the guests in the rooms next to you and above you.
Location is great. Beach is a across the road and shopping and places to eat are all next door.
Great Service and experience.

Comfort No room service Weird shower stall that is made so its hard to reach handles
Pool was great! Lots of space and fun games around the pool. Rooms were nice, good breakfast and fun bar/lounge
Loved the market place and the Dj at the bar in the evenings!
I liked the pool, room size, little market downstairs with reasonable prices, location to where I was going and the feel of the hotel. There is a mini refrigerator that you can fill up. I like the concept, instead of an overpriced minibar. The front desk was confused as to when breakfast ended. (We were told 8am which is ridiculous, but it was actually 9:30.) we missed a few days due to thinking we missed it. The carpet and little features could be updated, but for the most part it was clean. We would stay again.
The hotel is centrally located and six minutes from the airport, making it a great choice if you've an early morning departure or late night arrival. Our room was very quiet. The Marketplace was great for snacks and provided a good selection of tasty foods. The staff was friendly and the bed comfortable. The parking fee of $22-24 per night seems excessive for a suburb like Irvine which is pretty much made of concrete, shopping malls and parking lots. The sink drain didn't work properly, one of my pet peeves in a hotel in any price category and unexpected in this type of hotel.
The grounds, the staff was friendly and helpful, bed was comfy, pool area and 24 hour marketplace were very nice. Paying for parking, odd odor on the different floors, no cold water, half-closed shower door.
TOO LARGE THROUGHT IT WAS A BOUTIQU
I had a problem with another room being extremely loud and disruptive,, the front desk and security took care of the situation, quickly. Also, the GM comped my valet charges...still not what I expected from a hotel like this.
Good hotel, excellent location. Clean and comfortable. The music in the lobby is a bit loud.
Impressive, grand entry, airily quick check-in, comfortable beds, clean shower Music at the bar was so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. In addition the check-in attendant never told me details, such check-out time or that a continental breakfast was included ( I had to ask the next morning). They seemed rushed and ready for the next customer. Another issue was non-smoking on a designated non-smoking floor. I smelled smoke as I slept and saw butts on the carpet in the hallway. Lastly, breakfast was limited to toast, cold cereal, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs.
We loved our room with a view. Even though the hotel was busy with dance competition and softball teams, our room was quiet and service was great. We will definitely be back soon!
I stayed a long weekend here with my friend and the lovely people at hotel Irvine really made us feel like welcome guests! From the complimentary bikes, to the Friday night movie on the lawn, to the friendly and delightful staff, every minute here was relaxing and stress-free. My friend has severe food allergies which the staff graciously and professionally worked arround for her. It really meant a lot to be able to enjoy my mini-vacation knowing that everything we needed was being taken care of. Thank you so much!
The water slide for kids was pretty cool and the food was good, although pricy. Self parking is really far from the rooms. Plus you have to walk up a steep hill to get from the parking to your room. They don't have ramps to some of the areas. Had to carry out stroller down to the pool with the slide. The walls in rooms are really thin. Our room was next to the maid service room so pretty much the whole nights we would hear door slamming, people talking and carts being moved around. On our last night we could hear a couple arguing in the next room for like an hour. We could literally hear every word. We had two small children with us so all the noise would wake them up. Pictures on the web look nice but in real life the hotel is not even close to it. The lobby is the only nice area in the hotel.
Pool area not cleaned up well....needs facelift badly! Bar Mitzvah at hotel was noisy at night. Expensive self-parking ($27 per day) and "resort fee" ($25 per day) adds significant cost to room.
The staff are very helpful and cheerful. Bar area is limited and subject to a lot of noise from families passing through or as part of a large concert crowd that can dominate the whole area at weekends. The resort is more than walking distance to most other shopping or restaurant areas or the beach. No quiet area for a drink and conversation.
The room was very nice and modern. Valet parking efficient. The resort fee was an unnecessary and unreasonable charge. The Friday night brunch is $50 apiece and worth under $20. They served dried our turkey breast at the carving station that had to be covered in gravey. The beef chunks were very tough. Don't eat there. Bring snacks and drinks. A bottle of beer is $4.50 the resort store. Poolside service is only during summer. This is Southern California. Summer is year around.
Very quiet and relaxing. The grounds are well kept, the room was very spacious. There are a lot of activities and the location of the hotel is great, you can drive to the beach in 5 minutes, fashion island is next door and Sherman's gardens are just down the road. Parking is expensive ($25/day) and the lot is a bit of a hike from the hotel depending on which room you have.
Nothing The towels were cheap, resort and valet fees were excessive. I felt like I was staying in the holiday inn. Will never go back.
Gorgeous landscape and places to relax. Kids at adult only pool!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were very nice with lots of places to sit and enjoy them. They have concerts on Friday night and they are quite loud, we were not notified they would be going on. I think that guest should be advised when they make their resevations.
Great gym and pools. Very nice outdoor setting. Parking costs additional $35/ day. Rooms are clean but feel old and cheap. They add 20% tip to the bill for any service provided...food.
Close to Newport restaurants Found used silverware outside door at 4pm checkin. At 11:30pm silverware still there. Found used eyelashes on sink at checkin. No bathtub. Disappointed stay for the $220 nite rate
Maybe decor needs updating
Not much See above
The manager XU is great person, very professional Customer service, wifi not avalible, not clean
The lobby was nice. Room fire alarm had no battery so it wasn't working. Not even a kitchen microwave to use and with no mini fridge, any food we had left over (expensive or not) went to waste, no complimentary breakfast, room key stopped working second day, they put us (a family with 2 young kids) on a floor where there were roomed young adults who ran around naked and behaving sexually in the elevator all the time, the staff didn't offer us the option of a suitcase roller even after seeing us go back and forth from outside to elevator (4x) with suitcases while holding an infant.
Based on some of the other recent reviews I read, I asked for a room higher up in the hotel, and we were on the sixth floor. The room was nicely refurbished with mid-line furniture, good paint, everything clean. Never saw a cockroach, like some other folks have reported. The front-desk and maintenance staff were very nice and eager to serve. All of my requests were handled quickly and professionally. There is plenty of free parking. The mall and Costco are a short walk away, with quick access to the 405. The price was right. Saturday night a lot of young couples in semi-formal attire were staying at the hotel, and I had to ride the elevator with a drunk girl. Young folk were knocking on each other's doors late at night. that said, it wasn't too disruptive - just an annoyance. It cheapened the experience of staying there - made it seem like a flop-house for the young folk. The TV from the next room was audible through the wall.
Nothing This hotel should be 59.99 at most. Everything is old, warm down and looks terrible
Location There were cockroaches in the bathroom, the tub did not drain for a long time after a shower [gross]. Also water leaked in the bathroom when the neighbors took a shower!
Location and shuttle service No drainplugs in tub or sink, leaky tub faucet, damaged walls and window shade, poor qualty sheets, got only 2 towels - had to call for more- even tho we registered as 2 adults and 2 children, shuttle was not scheduled even tho we called a week in advance to make that reservation, difficult to understand some front desk staff. I expected better quality for the price. Won't stay here again.
It seems like they remodeled hotel but ALOT of shortcuts where taken. It was OK, I needs improvement.
Decor location free parking Bar wasn't open in time toilet seat was broken
Nice facility with amazing staff. The food was unforgettable and we will be back just to eat. I will be referring my clients to your hotel! Just a few points are keeping this hotel from truly being a 5 star hotel. Paint touch ups throughout. Robes to go with the slippers in the rooms, and better executed bathroom upgrades. The counter front didn't match up with the counter and both were extremely low. For the money, your hotel is GREAT!!!!
Location was good; close to restaurants/shopping Ample garage parking Plumbing was poor; Toilet not flushing, sink not draining Distinctive odor to room A/C ran on high cool all night but never got room comfortable
Spa was green, sheets had stains even when we ask for fresh sheets they had stains.
Nothing stands out, sorry. - Ice machine close to room was not working, leaking/dripping water at the connection. - The carpeting throughout room and hallways was horrendous. Huge stains throughout and sticky to walk on. Sadly Motel 6 would have been an upgrade for a 1/4 of the price, I was very disappointed. - Room smelled of filth. - I will not be using your Motel in the Future, from what I saw, you're very comfortable doing business in this the manner. Sadly I don't see you changing.
EVERYTHING was Amazing. The view, service, room service, amenities and the room was perferct We loved everything
the views and the bungalow room was great food service (both in room and at the pool lunch) was slow, inaccurate and not as expected. although the food quality was very good.
The place is awesome and we really enjoyed it The place is 5stars but the service and the employees are 0 stare
Beautiful resort! Loved our room. Food was amazing! Love the boutique on site. Front desk was great. Had an early check in. Staff overall was very slow and not to experienced when it came to bellman and room service. Every time we called for something we sat on hold for a period of time. Then when we left the resort i couldn't see out of my car windows. I had hard water spots all over my beautiful clean mercedes. The sprinklers covered my car and when i asked the valet to help with windex they looked at me like I was crazy.
Much better than the Ritz @ Laguna Nigel or Montage. Outstanding service
Excellent service. Staff were very helpful and friendly!
Nice area to behind the hotel to walk. Larger room size Service was somewhat lacking. I stayed 3 nights. My room was never serviced by the cleaning crew after I checked in. Mattress was very firm and not very comfortable. Hotel nickel and dimes for everything. Self parking was $22 a night. Hotel Concierge wanted to charge me an additional $20 a night when I (a solo traveller) requested a king bed upon arrival instead of two queens, even though the hotel was half empty and the published rates of the king rooms were $35 less a night than the nightly rate I had paid for my stay.
Fantastic location.Great value for money.Very clean.Great pool and jacuzzis.Will definitely be back!Even a Starbucks!And a great bar.Fire pits at night.Sunset was incredible to top off a great getaway.10/10.
The staff is VERY sweet and helpful. Great location. Valets were SO SWEET! Extremely clean. My ONLY problem was I reserved TWO DOUBLE BEDS. I brought my 15 year old daughter and her best friend For a one night getaway. I received an am txt that our room would be ready at 4pm.. So we went to fashion island for fun lunch at Lemonade And some shopping. When we went to check in.. At 4pm.. I was told That they had over sold and our room had one king bed. In my reservation I specified THREE PEOPLE! I feel like I got bumped cuz I reserved thru kayak... Paid less. They brought up a HUGE rollaway That took up half the room. We couldn't even make room for it.. So we all 3 slept in one bed. Not the end of the world.. But I would have appreciated better communication. Beautiful hotel and we had a lot of fun.
The friendliness of the staff
The greeting by front desk @ 3:00AM after a horrendous flight from east coast was so very welcome. That attitude was evident during my entire four night stay. Marriott has never forgotten that hospitality is about the people, more than just a place to rest your body. This was an overall great experience. I do not have a single suggestion on improving anything I experienced
It was close to malls and movies. Not the best views in Newport
Visiting a family member in hospital. Your Marriott staff could not have been more accommodating. The Concierge lounge was perfect. I can not think of anything
Marriott hotels have always been an enjoyable experience. The room, location and overall stay was very nice. The in room dining as well as pool service staff was beyond slow. The drinks by the pool had a 30 minute ticket time and I had to call in room dining 6 times before my what was supposed to be surprise order of champagne arrived. I'm in the industry as well and understand things get busy. The in room dining gave us some strawberries as an apology for the delay which was nice but th pool staff did nothing to appease everyone's clear annoyance with the slowness of service. It wouldn't deter me from returning necessarily but it does make me question the hiring process at this location. Not only was the pool staff slow, the gentleman had the personality of a shoe.
Staff was amazing and nice. But under trained and need more knowledge on processes Messed up our room and what was going on and got charged for parking 2 types in1 day.
Spa was amazing! Pay for parking and taking extra money for deposit
Clean an beautiful room I did not like paying $32 to valet our car for one night
Below average service Room had a weird smell. Asked reception to change my room and they said that they couldnt. They told me that I would need to upgrade and pay the price difference. Cleaning service were cleaning empty rooms at 10 pm while we were trying to sleep. 32$ parking per night in an area where it should be free. Better options out there. Definitely not returning.
Got a great deal great location! Be prepared for the $30 parking fee.
The bathroom was great and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was just fair.
$32 for parking! My god.
The staff was very friendly and they surprised us a an anniversary treat!! The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy! Valet is mandatory and quite expensive!
The rooms need to be updated.
$32/night mandatory valet parking is ridiculous. Other than that, nice place.
We booked a single King. We got a tiny room with two double beds. Said they were out of Kings. Said they don't guarantee requests for online bookings. We were very disappointed. They did move us the second night but there was a constant banging noise in the vent so we couldn't sleep. We were treated like second class boarders. Parking is $32 a night with no option. The breakfast was not up to Fairmont standards. We will not stay there again.
It was all very beautiful, nice comfortable bed. Everything seems nice, new, and fresh. Amazing internet speed. Seems very executive. No where nearby will have free or cheap parking. I paid $30 bucks for parking overnight and $20 for wifi. Room was decently priced, but it was so fancy i didn't want to take the complimentary soaps just incase they'd charge me for that too.
Mattress was comfy. No self parking option. Valet $32 but half price for hybrid vehicles.
Quiet room, good gym, nice pool area, friendly staff. Limited food options (restaurant closed for lunch on Saturday), mediocre TV reception (channels and quality), room looked a bit tired.
Location was good and staff was helpful. Room was not clean, maids did not clean it on one day (3-night stay), internet didn't work, hot water took forever to get going, room was noisy, breakfasts discontinued. Doubt we would stay there again.
I have stayed there before and have had a good experience each time
nothing the price was extremely high in comparison to the quality of the room
decent view of the sunset, and a tiny peak at the ocean. old and rundown feeling. definitely paid too much for the room and would consider other options next time. the manager was pretty nice to us by letting us choose a room. he lives there at the hotel, as it seems others do as well. The hotel is in desperate need of renovation, i hope the owners consider it as it could be a really nice spot due to the proximity of the beach.
Great service, very clean. We will definitely stay there again!
Nothing The hotel looked worn, and could use a make over, I did not think it was worth the money.
It is quite near to the centre and the hotel is under refurbishing. My room was big and clean. The price is reasonable comparing to other hotels/motels which are lot more expensive. The location is interesting because even being in the centre during the night I do not recommend for lonely ladies to walk alone back to the hotel, but by car no problem at all. Anyway I did not have any problem
The room was very clean and close to the beach (200 feet or so). You can park underneath the building. The lady running the place was very nice and helpful. It is close to the beach and good surfing ( 5 miles to Huntington Beach pier.) The building just got painted beige but there were parts of the building which could be patched up. Be careful swimming in Sunset Beach as their are round rays that can cut your feet and sharks who are eating the round rays. Ask the lady about where it's ok to swim.
Close to beach
This hotel is exactly as some of the other comments have said. But this is very much a common sense hotel, if you don't have common sense well do the best you can while you enjoy your stay. Hotel is 100 yards from the beach, minutes to state, and city beaches by car. Centrally located to some of SoCal best beach attractions and surfing locations. Being an older beach hotel, they have done a great job updating the rooms and making sure your stay is up to standards. Only stayed one day but they where very helpful. Choose this place for the price and its location to LB and HB, Was not disappointed. Only bad thing i can comment on was the layout of the breakfast area was a little tough to get into, but stay calm and work thru it. As like other places i dont stay at hotels for there donuts.
Probably the position, really close to the beach.
The location was perfect close to shops, restaurant with easy access. The hotel rooms were very comfortable & roomy. The staff was excellent, exceeded any expectations. My toilet had some trouble flushing but aside from that no problems. Please do not print that for public use.
Very relaxing, wonderful food and brilliant staff. Did not use Spa. Pool was good. We had to move rooms as there was building work on that side of the hotel. Very surprised that they even put guests in such rooms as work started as early as 5am and we did not sleep after that time.
Hotel was beautiful, staff was courteous and friendly. $29/day for valet parking when no public parking was available. This added an additional 10% to the total cost of my stay. Ridiculous.
Excellent customer service. Everything was great!
The decor was awesome A little pricy
Very nice & comfortable rooms Wonderful staff. Very helpful & personable Nothing. All was good
Great location - right across from Fashion Island shopping center. Easy access to restaurants, movies, shopping. Staff was very courteous and friendly. This was my second stay here. I would come back.
everything except the HOT, HOT, HOT weather. could not get hotel room cool enough in face of heat wave (25 degrees above expected temperature).
The Hotel was truly five star, excellent staff and the rooms were great. Good location but you need a car to get anywhere in California. The Fashion Island shopping centre is next door and offers alternative dining options. This was our first visit to Newport Beach and the Hotel was a positive start to a great trip. As with most west coast hotels the parking costs do increase the cost of staying but overall this was a minor issue.
We come back regularly. The hotel is well appointed and the staff is very professional. Rooms are comfortable and view to ocean side over fashion island is super. Oak Grill Room on the deck for breakfast is a treat.
Nice hotel which is close to PIMCO and Pacific Life Insurance
I think the valet parking fee was too high. There wasn't any options provided to self parking. You had no choice but to pay $32 parking fee.
Nice facility, friendly staff, comfortable large room. $28 for parking in a non-enclosed lots seemed kinda high, but what can you do. A 3.5-4 star hotel at this rate you really can't complain
The large bathroom with a separate shower and bath was amazing. The bedrooms had doors separating it from the spacious living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were 2 TVs with a fairly good selection of channels. The hotel is located away from places to eat so ordering room service sounds great but it's extremely overpriced. Price of parking was ridiculous. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and the extra blankets were scratchy.
They charge $25 for parking and there are no other parking options.
The staff were great especially Mica
Newly remodeled and well kept up. Quiet, and a great view. Service at the cafe was awesome. The price I paid was a very good value.
Parking should be more clear that it is charged.. I would have rather just ubered there
$28 for parking a night? Like just hide it in the fee or something because it's just ridiculous. I'd guess that 95% of guests arrive with at least one car.
Loved that the bedroom was separate from the family room, complimentary mini fridge, bath tub & stand up shower was a big plus, easy access to freeway, food & beach! Other than noise from remodeling, I love love love this location!
The room was very clean and spacious. The fridge and microwave was a plus and made it convience during my stay. The front desk receptionists were all polite and friendly. Nice size room and free WiFi. It is literally next to a police station so hearing sirens in the middle of the night was annoying. The bed was not comfortable at all. The pillows and blanket was terrible, it was like sleeping in a hospital bed. This hotel solidly looks nice and everything, but I'm just disappointed I wasn't able to get a good sleep, hence, the reason of my stay was to catch up on sleep and my work.
Very friendly and professional greeting and check in. Clean room. Slight musty smell in room.
The staff at Check in was not exactly accommodating to the people in line. The gentlemen behind the counter was having a conversation about non work related subjects with a guest, although claiming it to be hotel and check in related, while we stood in line for 15-20 minutes. For a 4 star hotel, the check in process was not that of a 4 star rating. The check in process is more of a 1 star.
Love the incentive to forgo Housekeeping daily in exchange $5 voucher. Some aspects seemed a little dates (ie the elevator, room furniture).
Location. Starbucks inside hotel. Great bath amenities. There was one issue with the bedding upon arrival. Other than that, was a very nice experience.
It was clean, upper scale, and was treated well.
We paid $158 per night plus taxes and $20 per night self parking. It was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Front door staff and housekeeping were helpful and friendly.
Maids never knocked, great black out curtains Had a 5 night stay and everything was perfect Nothing Unless they wanted me to get a free stay ????
Loved that I was able to do early check in and was offered complimentary late check out. Enjoyed the elegant atmosphere. The heated pool was our favorite. Walking distance to dinner and to the mall to do some shopping. Parking was a bit expensive $27.00 to be exact.
I love the Area and the building and its surroundings
Just steps away from the Segerstrom Theatre and across the street from South Coast Plaza. Well kept, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the entire experience. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
The air conditioner stopped working the last night
Friendly, clean, nice atmosphere, and complimentary breakfast! Parking cost isn't mentioned on third party websites
The shower was nice. The wi-fi connection was awful. Kept getting dropped. Worst wi-fi ever. They don't offer a wired connection alternative. Our room was really cramped for three adults. Our son attempted to sleep on the provided roll-away bed, but it was unrelentingly crappy. He ended up sleeping with just his feet on the bed and most of his body in a padded chair. They charge $18 to park in a cramped parking lot that's located in a business park. Felt ripped off. For some reason this Wyndham didn't even show up on our GPS, and we have the latest maps. Maybe it was trying to tell us something?
Awesome windows, comfy bed, very clean.
I travel a lot and have stayed in a variety of different hotels and this surprisingly ranks amongst my favorite. I was a little hesitant coming to this hotel based on some of the reviews from other sites and by no means does this hotel come in short on anything. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.
Everything was perfect, exactly what I expected! The pictures do the facilities justice!!! I was not disappointed in the least bit.
Clean room Wifi didn't work and staff wasn't very helpful Unclear restaurant hours and services Cost of everything was ridiculous even for a hotel.
Nice hotel The room service stops at 11pm and bar closes at 11:30pm
Friendly staff Good views from room Very poor (unusable) internet signal in room Gym and pool could be better Outdated decor
Comfortable beds I like to workout and the gym was less than adequate and the equipment definitely needs to be updated.
There was a bunch of teenagers staying in the room next to us and they kept hanging out in the hall and knocking on the doors, from their room and the room across from them. The walls were too thin and we could hear them all night. They finally settled down at 3:30am. So I didn't sleep too well.
The room was very nice, comfortable and had all the amenities. Great rate!
Room was clean and roomy Trying to get the payment for the room correct.
Room was too musty smelling and humid

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and offered a good selection of items for the continental breakfast. No
Location, couple minute drive to down town. Walls were paper thin. Could hear rooms conversations next to me. I could even hear snoring, worst sleep I had in a long time.
It seemed like most of the patrons were older and there for leisure. There was a lot of friendly hanging out and hello's when walking outside of the room. Overall everyone was quiet and very nice.

Bed was comfortable I could hear people outside more than I wanted.
Perfect location-very close to beach and excellent housekeeping! No
Loud neighbor's with crude language, did not feel very safe with my kids. Room smelled bad, was not what I expected.
Rooms are very nice with 4 star amenities. mix of families, locals and travelers First night room was noisy due to being close to event space. They switched rooms for me next night with an upgrade and waved resort fee. Very professional and accommodating staff.
Great room on marina. It took over an hour to check in. Hotel did not have my Kayak reservation right and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone getting it straight. Also, make sure you get a room with a water view.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating at the front desk, restaurants, housekeeping, and pool. Room was big and it was nice getting bottled water every day. Food at the restaurant (lunch) was surprisingly good and sitting outside by the bay was enjoyable. Overall, the facility was "tired" and is in need of renovations. Especially, the pool area lounges and chairs were old and stained. We prefer fitted sheets (which these were not) and carpets throughout the hotel (room, elevator, halls) need attention. We were told by one of the maintenance personnel who was in our room to fix a sliding shutter door, that the hotel was be remodeled within the next 3 months which is encouraging. Location was somewhat of a catch-22. It was nice being on the harbor but you really couldn't walk anywhere to shop or eat. Must have car if you want to go anywhere off site. Overall, we had a good time.
Good location. They are charging you for a bottle of red wine that is in your room. They tell you as they are giving you the key that it's included in the price - well we didn't drink the wine nor did we want to pay for it. It doesn't matter that if you don't want it - you are paying for it anyway, how ridiculous!
Our room had such a great view of the bay. It was very relaxing and quiet. We kept the balcony doors open almost the whole time! The staff was very polite and accommodating whenever we asked for anything. The first room we were put in, the shutters were broken and would not close for privacy. As soon as I called down, they had someone come up and move us 5 doors down within minutes. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Heat didn't work. Charged $28 for parking without alerting us in advance. Room was completely standard of any hotel. Room service forgot our dressing, and the food was subpar
