Pros: wonderful beach, very clean, great gardens, very nice timeshare unit with all conveniences, well-equipped gym
Cons: It would be nice to have a real restaurant.
The parking spaces were very narrow
no lap swimming pool
roosters wake me up at 4 am

We're looking forward to making you feel special here at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club.
Pros: great pools and beachfront location, amazing landscaping
Cons: resort is almost too large. Also, some areas need a good scrubbing. In the 5 days that we were there, pool was not vacuumed and pool tiles need to be scrubbed.
Pros: Beautiful property. Ocean views are well worth the price. Our room included breakfast brunch which was extensive and on an open floor with fantastic facility/ocean views.
Cons: You have to rent (read: pay) for cabanas.
Experience graceful grandeur at this Hawaiian classic resort set on the soothing white sands of Kauai’s sunny south shore. This exquisite resort beckons with 50 acres of lush gardens and pristine pools. Amenities abound from golf at Poipu Bay Resort to fresh island flavors at resort restaurants to the lavish, open-air Anara Spa. Hawaii TAT Number: TA-207-370-2400-01
Pros: Facilities are more intimate than the neighboring mega resorts (Hyatt / Marriott). Top notch service with great amenities. Rooms are well appointed and the beds are some of the most comfortable we'd ever slept in (and we travel A LOT). Pool is quiet and very relaxing. Beaches are steps away and provide a relatively quieter experience than the surrounding beaches.
Cons: Restaurant is overrated and overpriced. Just tries too hard to be something it isn't. Pool bar is wonderful, but drinks are a bit pricey ($14-16 avg)...that said, they are delicious and the bar tenders are great (shout out to Jamie!). Not much to complain about here, this resort it top shelf.
Pros: Excellent service, very nicely appointed rooms, truly oceanfront experience without the gaudy mega resort layout to navigate to get a great view and easy beach access. We had a garden view room, but unlike big hotels where that means a view of the parking lot, this faced a nicely manicured and quiet lawn area, and all you had to do was step out and you could see the ocean. Every time we passed the big vacation club next door with the screaming kids, aqua-aerobics, and vacationers packed like sardines next to each other, I was grateful that I had booked this place.
Cons: Pool bar was not open for many hours, pool was too warm and shallow for any real swimming, and it would be nice if there was self parking allowed, but it's a small hotel, and I get they don't have the space!
Pros: We Really liked the easy access to all the amenities. Large resorts are a drain on a laid back vacation... Large resort this is NOT. We really enjoyed being just steps away from the beach and pool area. We would definitely come back!!
Cons: The reviews for Red Salt sounded astounding. We are there our first night and wasn't impressed. The food was definitely okay but just not as astounding as the reviews led us to believe.
Located on the south shore of Kauai, Hawaii’s “Garden Isle”, the surrounding area enjoys year-long, gorgeous sunny weather ideal for outdoor activities. Just steps beyond the patios of oceanfront guest rooms is Poipu Beach, one of Kauai’s most swimmable beaches, popular for snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, and other water sports. An on-site beach activity center provides equipment rentals, lessons, and local recommendations with ease. Nearby, hike ocean cliff-top trails, explore charming Old Koloa Town, tee off at Kauai’s best golf courses, or visit spectacular natural sites at Spouting Horn and the National Tropical Botanical Garden. Any time of year, stay golden at Ko`a Kea Hotel & Resort.
We enjoyed our stay here and would probably stay again. The food and the coffee were very good and we were allowed to borrow beach toys, etc. -- very convenient.
Pros: We loved having coffee on the lanai every morning. We kept the windows open all night so we could enjoy the sound of the ocean crashing--wonderful. The hot tub was a treat for our muscles after our long, uncomfortable flight.
Cons: There was no lock on our door and I know the innkeepers entered our room while we were out. Nothing was taken of course, but I don't understand the reason for entry. During our stay I heard another guest ask the innkeeper why he had entered their room.
At Hale Ho'o Maha Bed & Breakfast, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Limahuli Gardens and Reserve and Hanalei Bay. Guests can enjoy the spa tub, and snorkeling and surfing/boogie boarding are nearby. Nice touches like bathrobes and slippers are offered up in all rooms, along with lanais and flat-screen TVs.
Pros: - Ocean view suite was beautiful. The room was spacious and had an amazing view of Hanalei bay
- Hotel Staff remembered it was our anniversary and they made our trip really special
- Hotel restaurants had amazing food and great service
- Pool side service was excellent and fast. People helped set up chairs for us and moved the umbrella to keep us in the shade through out the day
Pros: amazing room, location and view
Cons: Poor landscape and amenities and infrastructure is too old.
Pros: Loved it. Nice people. Nice rooms. Nice facilities. Wanted to lay in those beds all day. Thank you!

Cons: Unfortunately just wasn't what we expected. Checking in was fine. We had a amazing view of the back of the restaurant and seeing all the servers smoke and talk story, maybe that's why their service sucked so much! On a number of occasions we tried to trade out wet towels for dry towels but there were no clean towels! Even when it rained and our towels were soaking wet they didn't have dry ones to dry ours kids off when getting out of the pool, hopefully they don't get sick! There was a lot of inconsistency when it came to security and checking for the slide. Some workers would allow my kids to go and others would say they weren't tall enough. We ate at the restaurant on 3 different occasions every time the service was awful. Pricing for food was really high for the amount and quality you were getting. The last day our server by the pool was awful. She never wrote anything down so forgot everything we ordered. After an hour of putting our food order in she said they were trying to look for hot dogs and couldn't find any, I could have gone to big save in that amount of time and cooked them up and fed my children. We ordered something else that took another 45 min. There was no sorry or anything for the time it took to just get our food. When you have starving children in the sun all day not the best time to be taking a while to get food. We depended on the restaurant because we were in a studio and couldn't cook anything. No one warned us about bringing our slippers in from our slider door and how awful the water smells. In the morning after the sprinklers went off, all of our stuff smelt like sewage!!! We called and asked for a later check out and they apologized but someone would be checking Into the room, since we could see the room from the restaurant they didn't even get to cleaning it until after 5 pm!!! i am just so shocked they have such a huge place with great potential and you can't even find a manager around. I know they are now merging with Marriott but go to the Waiohai you will have a much better experience.
Pros: Clean, new facilities and the staff was very friendly and helpful. A variety of excellent restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.
Cons: It's a bit of a walk to a sandy beach but there's not a lot of it on this coast. Construction of the new pool area was a bit of an eyesore but they'll be complete soon.
Pros: Everything, the staff was excellent

Cons: Limited shuttle, it did not go into town.

Pros: The location was great and the surrounding grounds fantastic. The beech was a short walk, the grounds were pleasant and the whole area was beautiful. We had a great time there.
We arrived early and while early check-in wasn't possible, the staff was really friendly and helpful -- supplying beech towels and storing our food that needed to be refrigerated.
Cons: The unit was a bit flawed. The carpets are very worn and the supplied kitchen supplies minimal.

Pros: The condo exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious and even had a washer/dryer. Very comfortable and a nice location.

The outdoor pool is a great spot for a morning swim, and guests can get a workout in at the fitness center. Condos feature bonuses like kitchens and washers/dryers, along with lanais and iPod docks.
Cons: Very warm in the summer. No a/c. It only gets uncomfortable mid afternoon in the summer.
Pros: Loved the room and the pool
Pros: Room has good circulation, so no ac isn't s problem! Pools are beautiful.
Cons: Seemed to have run out of hot water while filling the tub...Shower water pressure is weak.
Pros: The main pool and lobby are nice. They provide you an ice chest in the room so you can take it to the beach.
Cons: Rooms need renovating they still have carpeted floor and the bathroom is outdated. As my wife and I tried to sleep early for an morning excursion there were several loud guests blaring music and having a loud sexual conversation. (Lady was talking about having a threesome with her hubby and friend) yes this was heard from our bedroom that's how loud they were. I called front desk around midnight to let security know but it seemed like they didn't show up until later.
Pros: Ambiance, service, staff. The apartment was very well equipped and had everything we needed
Cons: Location is a bit far from most attractions, but there are things to do nearby as well.
Cons: Staff was slow and more concerned about everything else except us, phones, unwrapping boxes etc. Did not return drivers license after asking for it the second time. But did return it to our room several hours later.
BBQ's were unkept ..... a dirty mess at 5 PM ... had not been cleaned in ages!
Pros: I loved how spacious it was. I loved how the kitchen included every utensil you might need without having to ask for it. I loved that it came with a washer / dryer in the unit, that was a nice surprise. The big bath tub with the jets was the icing on the already amazing cake. I will definitely return.
Cons: I didn't like that the pool and hot tubs on the premises had a 10pm curfew. It made it feel like camp or school and it was a big turnoff, especially since every time I tried to use the hot tub there were people there. Never got a chance to use it.
Pros: -Upgraded (without us knowing) to a 2 BR condo...nice if we needed all the space but there were only 2 of us.
-In unit washer dryer
-Lots of amenities (we didn't really use any though as we spent time out on the island)
-Open parking...spot right out front of our unit.
Cons: -Upstairs neighbors had heavy, noisy footsteps
Pros: The accommodations, staff, cleanliness and location were awesome! Being able to stroll throughout Princeville and take advantage of the other resorts nearby was a plus. It was a beautiful location and I highly recommend it for the $.
Cons: The pool was freezing and it needs a restaurant/bar on site.

Hawaii TAT Broker ID #TA-173-554-2784-01.
Pros: The location was great and we wound up in a garden view room which was really nice.
Cons: Front desk staff was not great.
Cons: My flight didn't leave until 10:30pm I was only able to extend my checkout until noon.
Pros: The aloha of the staff was the best we've ever experienced anywhere. Our housekeeper Delilah was the most friendly, accommodating and welcoming person I think we've ever met. She really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. We'd go back just for her.
Overall, the grounds are very clean as are the rooms. The place is a tad dated but well cared for. Our room had an outstanding view in bldg 1.
On site restaurants were good but pricey. We opted to drive offsite nearly every night for more reasonable fare.
The locations is prime. Great beach, nice pool, and very close to retail shops and very good restaurants.
Cons: Our laundry facilities were in bldg 2 on the other side of the grounds. It would be nice to facilities in each bldg. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were terrible. Down and foam filled were the only two options - both of which tend to flatten out to nothing which offers zero support for your head and neck.
Pros: The location was convenient to where I needed to be. The staff was friendly.
Cons: The building I stayed in was quite far from the main desk area and the valet car pick up area.
Pros: We spent one night and two days on Kauai while visiting family on Oahu. The Sheraton was perfect for this. We were able to check in early and to check out late, making the most of our little time on the island. The room was clean, bed super comfortable and the staff were all helpful and friendly.
Cons: Like most resorts, most things on the grounds were pretty expensive.
Pros: Location is good: right on the water, with sunset views. This is the only good thing about this hotel.
Cons: Room was outdated, and tiny. Beds were saggy and uncomfortable. The tiles around the pool were broken or missing. We ordered a couples massage and found out the day before they don't even have a spa on-site, they farm it out to the Wyndham down the road. $30 resort fee per day that they didn't tell us about ahead of time. Although we of course didn't let it ruin our time (we were in kauai afterall!), this hotel was incredibly disappointing.
Savor a warm Hawaiian welcome and explore the island of Kauai. Our resort is located on Kauai’s sunny South Shore alongside Poipu Beach. Guests will especially enjoy our new poolside restaurant, Lava’s, and our new oceanfront pool and bungalows. Enjoy a host of outdoor activities, from water sports to tennis to nearby championship golf. And, of course, you can always just relax and soak up the sun. Our deluxe, low-rise Hawaiian haven provides a choice of mesmerizing oceanfront or colorful, tropical garden views that are enjoyable day and night. After you wind down and refresh following a glorious day outdoors, bring everyone together for dinner and choose from a delicious selection of international cuisine. With golden-sand beaches and misty sea breezes just footsteps away, you’ll feel right at home at the Sheraton Kauai Resort.
Pros: Great price, great location (walk to the beach, to the pool, to Poipu village and Kalepaki Joes), kitchen had everything I needed, loved the complimentary mai tai on check in and the bottle of wine in the condo, also the free wifi.
Cons: Only had decaffeinated tea bags! Would have liked a small carton of milk rather than the coffee creamer powder....
Poipu Kai Resort is a great choice for your beach stay in Koloa, putting you near activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, and surfing/boogie boarding. The outdoor pool provides fun for everyone, and guests can also take advantage of an outdoor tennis court and a spa tub. The restaurant is a great spot for a bite to eat and cold drinks are served at the bar/lounge. Condos feature kitchens, balconies, and DVD players.
Cons: All the chickens! Plus, it was a long walk to the beach down a big hill which meant you had to walk back up! Plus, they did not tell us they only refreshed the room every other day, which would be fine but we like having coffee and had to request more.
Cons: We asked for our money back after it became apparent that the studio only had a super uncomfortable pull out couch bed. The resort seemed nice, and the staff was friendly, but for the love of God get the one bedroom! I could not believe they would have us stay on a bumpy springy pull out couch bed for 200+ a night! The Windham had a nice little studio right down the road with a REAL BED for almost half the price. Like I said the resort seemed really nice but DO NOT get the studio room if you value comfort in a mattress.
