In addition to the charm obvious in the photos of the rooms, there is the ambiance of the whole house, with dried plants hanging from the beams, the incredible view over the valley, and the dedicated kind hostess.
Having breakfast with the most wonderful view. Big festival with processions from 5pm to midnight all added to the atmosphere . Found great tapas bar down the street where we spent an hour before dinner !
Not much, really.
Superb location, wonderful hosts. The place to stay in Arcos de la Frontera.
The owner was very helpful especially with suggested driving routes in the district & dining suggestions. If you like rustic & character filled this is a perfect fit.
The bed was very uncomfortable. The room had a musty smell. There was no wi-fi in the room. Bathroom curtain was very dirty & even though the place was probably clean, it made it feel less than pristine. It was also one of the more expensive places we stayed in but certainly didn’t feel like it. Arcos was generally disappointing compared to the other local white towns & especially Ronda.
The House had a character of its own and was interesting unlike a chain hotel. The view from the terrace outside our room was excellent and there was lots of plants within the house
The breakfast, on the second morning we asked for scrambled eggs as it was cold and were charged another 8 euros over the 12 we were already paying without being told. We found out when we got the bill. The house was cold as was the weather but despite both the host and us commenting on the cold no heating was put on in our room apart from a small fan heater.
