Pros: Breakfast was good with several choices. Eileen, the host was very friendly and accommodating. Our room upstairs had a nice view, plenty of plug-in outlets, comfortable beds, a large bathroom with a shower. There were enough drawers for storing clothes and a small closet for hanging clothes. The breakfast rooms were spacious enough. The Irish music was nice to hear in the morning at breakfast. We used a table at night to play games. The farm animals were fun to watch.
Cons: The location was a little far out from some places we wanted to visit. We paid too much for a night's stay compared to other B & Bs we stayed at during our four week road trip in Ireland. The yard and flower gardens could use some major clean up.

We made our selections off a menu and the food was delicious. The host was very friendly and hospitable. The walk to the high street took about 10 minutes and there was no danger of getting lost. The lady who met us on arrival gave a map with recommended eating and drinking places which really helped to set us off. There was more than ample parking. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great at breakfast and dinner. Staff. Top of their game
6.0 Good
Pros: Facilities
Cons: The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not. It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold. We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste. So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The breakfast was good.
Cons: When I arrived, the owner claimed he did not receive the fax advising of my reservation for a double room. He first sent me to a twin room which had little space. After complaining, he moved me to a room with two twin beds and said he would push them together. He did not do that. Overall I was unimpressed with the accommodations.

Pros: Fabulous hospitality. Brendan was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast offer was excellent, with a good continental selection as well as several cooked breakfast options. The room was light and bright, decorated in traditional 'guesthouse' fashion but with all the modern amenities, including a large comfortable bed, good wardrobe space and a hot shower with good water pressure. Terrific location, a short walk from the centre of town and across the road from the beautiful University College campus.
Cons: Nothing to fault.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast each day was excellent and modified on request to suit our preferences such as gluten free bread. The main building is a marvelous 18th-19th century structure filled with beautiful antiques. The ambiance overall is superb. The location was very convenient to Cork airport and to the places and relatives we were visiting in West Cork. It is close to Kinsale where there are good restaurants and places of interest. At night there is complete quiet apart from the occasional lowing of cows. Lots of air circulation in the room. Great for sleeping. And the hosts' dogs were entertaining.
Cons: We were disappointed on arrival to find that we could not have an evening meal at the property contrary to what the web site indicated. WiFi was spotty and cellular service in the area is weak. The village in which the house is located has no services other than two pubs that do not offer meals.

Even when we have garbage , we have to go all the way to garbage area to through it.

Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Booked with my partner for our first anniversary. We arrived at 1.30 and were told people had just checked out of our room so they would call us. We went to the bar. No bar food/snacks. At 3.30 we asked at the desk how long more we would be waiting and we were told they had forgotten to call us. I went to run a bath and noticed a big black hair on the bath (I'm blonde) which turned me off having one. Carpet very grubby and had make up stains on it. No mirror at dressing table to get ready. Food in restaurant very average for prices. Had to go to Douglas for a drink as the bar was dead no atmosphere. Definatly not a five star hotel. Coffee at breakfast was horrible
