Pros: Staff location
Cons: Nulla
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very hospitable owners' family who also run the place. Truly great experience. When in Obereggen again will definitely stay in Marica again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facilities, very nice hotel, great SPA, great breakfast. Location also really good (especially if you have a car) as at the very heart of a group of beautiful valleys, with hundreds of great walks (in summer) and access to an amazing network of ski resorts.
Cons: The room we got was facing the rear (looking part at a small internal garden and part at the upper side of the parking lot) - given the position of the hotel (overlooking the centre of the valley) and the beautiful views from the front-facing rooms, I found that quite disappointing (I did ask whether we could change the room, but unfortunately there were none available....). If you go, make sure you ask in advance (and pay, if it comes with an extra) for a front-facing room!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is without a doubt one of the best family owned hotels out there. They make you feel like one of them, nothing is to much trouble. The food is five stars and so is the wine. Can not say enough about this hotel! Fantastic!!
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner lady was superhelpful even though she didint speak english much.
Cons: It was bit far to the castelrotto, its not in castelrotto, half hr bus ride away
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, great breakfast with homemade jams and jelly. Wonderful views of the valley and mountains. Great wood craftsmanship in the building. Very detailed!
Cons: No soap or shampoo in bathroom.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It is a truly amazing property. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. The mother and daughter who run it are so kind and helpful and really make you feel at home. The breakfasts were great, nice fresh fruit, breads, yogurt, granola and they would make eggs anyway you wanted them. They even make their own jams and juices. The woodwork throughout the Inn is unbelievable so beautifully carved and decorated. They have an underground parking garage, a terrific playroom for children. My favorite was after a day of hiking you could relax in a comfy swing chair in the front yard and admire the view. It is immaculately clean and well maintained, and for a small charge you can do laundry, an added plus we weren’t expecting.
Cons: It is quite far outside of Castlerotto so there is nothing you can walk to, but the area is beautiful! The only odd thing was there was not soap or shampoo in the bathroom. We asked and they did give us some bodywash, but we’ve never stayed somewhere where toiletries were not supplied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful and has an incredible view over the Valle Isarco, which is also seen from the apartment on the front. The entire property was recently built to the highest quality standards, entirely in wood. The rooms/apartments (we asked to see all the others) are very clean, recently made, and beautiful. This property looks like a work of love by the owners with an incredible attention to the details. Everywhere you will find cute little (or large) pieces of woodworks, paintings, little details. Everything in the living areas is top notch, news, and beautifully done with the best materials. The location is a Maso (or in German Bauernhof) a typical farm of Alto Adige/ Sud Tyrol. The downtown of Castelrotto/Kastelruth is at about 5 minutes scenic drive. So is the gondola that can take you on the Alpe di Siusi, from which you will have a majestic view of some of the most famous formations of the Dolomites (Sella, Sciliar, Sasso Piatto, Sasso Lungo, Marmolada) and where you can hike for dozens of kilometers in an enchanting alpeggio scenery, among pasturing cows. The property contains acres of fields and woods which can be hiked. One hike across the property leads down to a famous 16th century castles where the poet Oswald von Wolkenstein lived. Visits are inexpensive and certainly worthy, as it has recently been restored. Along the (rather steep) path in the forest we found wild berries of the most intense flavor. A short drive will lead to another restored 16th century castle, near Siusi. One can drive to passo sella via Ortisei and Selva di Val Gardena in probably one hour. Another thing we appreciated of both this property and this area is that it is sort of an hidden gem, very beautiful but also a few miles out of the beaten path (Val Isarco and Val Gardena) as to appear genuine and cozy. It is a German speaking enclave, and I mean really German--lots of ethnically German locals there struggle with Italian.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super comfy beds, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfasts and nice hosts. They are currently working on a new dining room and a wellness area - all with a nice view over valley. Would love to come back one day. It's more suitable for families though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions for places to see and how to get to them. The entire facility, not just our room. was incredible. Clean, well thought out, comfortable, built by craftsmen that take pride in building a quality room or the furniture in it. This facility is a wonderful place to stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Apartments Moarlhof is probably the most amazing place one can imagine. The view is heaven. The facility is perfectly equipped with anything you need. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming. It is fully recommended to families as well as couples or friends. We hope to come again to this totally fabulous place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the setting of the property. Beautifully crafted building, very comfortable. Very friendly and helpful owners.
Cons: There was. no soap or showergel in the bathroom which really should have been provided,, and we think the kitchen should provide salt and pepper, and tea and coffee.

Pros: Such an amazing hotel! They greated us with proseco and juice and the room had high quality. I did not expect the dinner would be that nice even! I would like to visit again.
Cons: Everything was satisfying.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is even better in reality. Everything is perfect. The spa is great!
Cons: /
9.5 Excellent
Pros: New and clean.
Cons: The village has little atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For such a short break, the hotel was even more than I expected, spacious room, very comfortable bed and an extremely nice Spa area. I have chosen this hotel because they have long working hours for the Spa area, that is not usual for other hotels (others have only few hours late in the afternoon). We did not have the dinner in the hotel since we had previous arrangements elsewhere, but I was surprised when I saw nice multioptional dinner Menu, oh well only if we could change our plans...Next time for sure!
Cons: Sky pool area in winter times is maybe not the best designed solution. The pool is of good dimensions, but I have expected to have a massage nozzle (did not find it) and panoramic view of the city from the pool (maybe in spring time the roof opens up more and than is visually more appealing). The hot outdoor whirpool is a bit far from the pool and relax area with fireplace, so it was too cold to walk to it below 0. This is why I found the Sky pool + relax zone a bit booring (there is not much things to do beside read a book all day).
7.5 Good
Pros: Wonderfully restored historic hotel in the very heart of the cosy mountain village Castelrotto. We loved the minimalistic style combined with the cosyness, warmth and comfort of a true mountain resort hotel. The architect is a genius!!! The suite room was pretty small but hat a fantastic view (and balcony) facing the main square with the church. We loved our room: The beds and down duvets were super comfortable, the furniture exquisite, the colors, fabrics and materials were just perfect. The wellness area is one of most beautiful we have ever seen, it is not too big (fits the size of the hotel), but everything is spot on. The views from there are amazing in all directions - we actually did not want to leave this heaven of peace and relaxation.
Cons: as much as we loved the structure and amenities of this place, we were disappointed about the entire service, especially in the restaurant. Given the pretty high price (we paid much less via booking, compared to the quote when we called them), we would have expected impeccable service throughout the entire structure. The welcoming in the restaurant was pretty disturbing: the restaurant manager told us that we only had breakfast included so they don't have a table for us -- when pointing out that we booked half board, they told us that this is impossible as we reserved through booking.com; we actually had to prove that we had half board, and it took some embarrassing time standing there, the unwanted guests..... Same story next day at breakfast, no table prepared for us, and the selection of the breakfast - given that this was supposed to be almost a gourmet restaurant - was disappointing. There was no bread selection at all (as in the evening), and the rest was pretty standard for a 4*S resort (we have seen much better in the same area). Quality of food (esp. at dinner) was as expected, but if you want to eat big portions, better order from the standard menu... (they serve typical south Tyrollean dishes on request, very good)... overall we found that we missed the feeling that this is a privately owned and managed structure. WE never saw the owner, which is unusual for those kind of boutique hotels in the Alpine region. Also the girls at the reception were not really informed (although very kind), they sent us with the car into the next villages to rent bikes, while the entire town is full of excellent rentals... so - if they get their Services up to the level of the structure, they will get 5* from us...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best winter/spring hotel experience ever. Great breakfast and EXCELLENT dinner including amazing waiters and hotel staff. Rooms were clean and well equiped, parking in garage accessible only by room card, lockable boxes for skis/snowboards, ski bus tickets, etc. Thank you once again, we definitely recommend this hotel to everybody interested in comfortable and enjoyable stay.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our room had a balcony overlooking 'The Schliern': a mountain with a particular significance to the local inhabitants. The hotel also provided us with free access to the local buses and the nearby chairlift. This was particularly appreciated as it facilitated our walks in the very hot weather
Cons: Dinner is available at a very reasonable price of 15 euros per person. The portions are substantial but the food lacks individuality. However, if the B&B option is chosen initially, guests are able decide whether or not to take the dinner on a daily basis.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast en dinner were very diverse and tasty. The staff was very service orientated and remembered your wishes.
Cons: We missed walking maps to borrow.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: some unfriendly staff. Breakfast waiter disorganised and unfriendly.

Pros: Everything about this hotel was fantastic. We stayed an extra night because we liked the hotel so much. The entire hotel was completely remodeled in 2018. The rooms were well designed & comfortable. The restaurant and bar were excellent. The Schgaguler family and staff were so kind and helpful. They proved “over-the-top” service. The spa & pools were a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and the views of Alpe di Suisi were breathtaking. I would definitely stay here again!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect for my wife and I that we cancelled our travel plans following and stayed longer. From the well executed minimalist design to the attention to detail in the bedding and furniture to the dishes and glasses, we were in bliss the whole time. To top it all off, the view from our balcony. We’ve already decided we’re coming back in the future...
Cons: The worst part was having to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can see from the pictures that the hotel is beautifully designed and expertly executed (props to the local craftsmen!) and that the location is perfect for exploring Alpe di Siusi, but I'd like to tell you that the staff made this stay unforgettable. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive but never lurking. They were more than accommodating with our 1-year-old daughter, and they even gifted us with free massages. I had low expectations when I read half board included, but my husband and I were blown away by the food (and we're from San Francisco.) An amazing assortment at breakfast, including eggs any way you like 'em, and a gourmet four-course dinner with wonderful local wines. They accommodated his gluten intolerance and treated him to warm gluten free croissants in the morning and fresh tagliatelle in the evenings. I would recommend this hotel to friends, family, strangers... its a great value for a truly wonderful vacation!
Cons: No negative comments.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful and stylish hotel. Great architecture and very very forthcoming and friendly staff. Would recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend time in a beautiful and quiet region of the Dolomites.
Cons: Maybe they could have a bit more towels and beverages in the SPA area.

Pros: Very kind and friendly staff. Beautifyl room and view
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect

Cons: Staff unprofessional, dated room, unpleasant towels and linens.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: New(ish) property. Nice rooftop pool, good restaurant and beautiful bar. Front Office staff was very friendly, restaurant staff could have been a bit more attentive.
Cons: Due to the location of the property, the views are limited. Our (upgraded) room faced a supermarket, that started to receive truck deliveries at 7am each morning.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel with a service minded staff. Nice and clean. Good food, both breakfast and dinner. Best of all is the rooftop terrace with pool and bar service. Nothing is better after hiking on a warm summer day! Bus stop outside and short walking distance to the village center with shops, restaurants and bus station. Easy getting around in the area from this location.
Cons: Did not like the pillows. Small bathroom (but it worked) for a hotel in this price category.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love everything about this hotel. It is clean, the food in the restaurant is amazing, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the views are breath taking and the rooms are perfect.
Cons: Not a thing. We have stayed here before and will keep coming back. We miss it already.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The food was great, the SPA area was beautiful. The room was clean and had everything we needed even though ours was very small.
Cons: Since it's a romantic hotel I believe that it should be adult only hotel. The relaxing room by the inner pool was not so much relaxing when there were children playing and screaming (not blaming the children, that's what they do). That's my only complaint.

Pros: An amazing location , fantastic hotel, very good service and outstanding food!!!
Cons: N.A.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The meals here are amazing! You get an delicious five-course feast a very reasonable price. This would be a good place to stay even if you just hung out around the hotel and ate. But of course the place offer much more than that; you have the entire Alpe di Siusi for your playground. Believe me, you'll never have a shortage of views, or places to hike and/or bike. I liked that it's outside Compaccio; it makes for a quieter, more peaceful stay. In addition, the staff at the Hotel Schmung were amazing. I got some type of stomach virus and had to spend the entire first day in bed. Everyone there was very solicitous and concerned about my needs. Fortunately, they had upgraded me to a double room rather than a single, which made my first 24 hours of misery there much more bearable. Once I felt better, I was able to enjoy the outdoors--and the food!--the way it was meant to be. I wholeheartedly endorse the Hotel Schmung.
Cons: It would have been better is I hadn't been sick. Other than that, I can't think of a single thing wrong with my stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!! The property has convenient access to Compatsch and the bus lines that provide access to the many hiking trails. The property is in perfect condition. The rooms are modern and have beautiful views of the valley. It includes indoor secure parking. The staff makes it all come together. Helga is the owner operator. She works everyday and is available with suggestions for hiking etc. The staff makes the difference here. They are the best. The dinners were affordable with excellent variety. They are five course meals. Plenty of food. I would come back in the winter to ski. I obviously love this property.
Cons: Nothing.
