Pros: This was a perfect cottage and it had absolutely everything we needed. Would have stayed longer if we could! It was comfortable, easy to get to and get into, private, and had all kitchen amenities.
Pros: When the power went of there was a generater to supply power.
Pros: We stayed overnight and can absolutley recommend this place. It’s clean and nicely furnished. You have your privacy but the hosts are there if you need help. Wifi connection is very good. We come back when in the area. Thank you
Pros: A lovely, spacious, private garden flat with everything a small family needs to self cater. A short walk to an excellent small shopping centre with several eateries.
Cons: The bathroom needs some TLC. Unmounted mirror, shower curtains need attention, no hand soap, no basin plug. With such a beautiful garden some outside furniture would be welcome.
Pros: Our room was ready 2 hours before check in time and they let us know it is available.
Cons: There is something in the roof that runs around and kept us awake all night.
Pros: The unit is really beautiful, and coffee and sugar is supplied. There is also a heater which was our saving grace! Was really chuffed with that.
Cons: The fact that our water was off. I messaged the lady at 5:30 am, no response, we wanted to leave then, but couldn't as we couldn't shower. Then decided lets sleep in then since we cant shower and I did sms her so she will see it . Then at 7 am, No response, no water. I phoned about 20 times, no answer. Then I went out and knocked on their door. Then she phoned back, and did they sort out the water. This was extremely frustrating. If you know you have guest, and that you have a Jojo tank, you make sure that there is enough water! And you do not out your phone on silent or whatever the case might have been! O yes, and there is rats or something running around in the roof at night, kept us awake
Pros: Lots if windows, which allowed for much natural light and the bed was also extremely comfortable. Sitting outside in the beautiful big garden was very enjoyable. A complimentary 2l milk in the fridge was a nice touch. As a whole the property had all the required facilities and was very clean.
Cons: Did not like the half glass half curtain set-up in the shower and the curtain needs to be regularly cleaned.
Pros: The house was warm, in this cold weather,
Cons: Do not only use one cottage, room u can use the place as B&B
Pros: Comfort and beautiful interior!
Pros: The place feels like your are home. Friendly Ms Radebe

Pros: Host was friendly & obliging. Lalique went out of her way to make us comfortable. The staff for breakfast were lovely and prepared to cook any breakfast we desired.
Cons: It was very cold as expected and although we were provided with a heater, it did not warm the room adequately.
Pros: The breakfast was very good and tasty. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was prepared once we were seated so it was freshly prepared. The location was excellent and the room was very nice. Exceeded our expectation. We had a very comfortable stay.
Pros: Thank you very much for the help in the morning (my smartphone was stolen). Recommendation for dinner was good.
Pros: The cleanliness, warm welcome and the friendly staff
Cons: The breakfast was dry
Pros: Breakfast was comprehensive and food was good. Service was great.
Cons: TV was rather small. Fridge motor made a loud clicking sound when switching on and off which woke me up continuously throughout the night.
Pros: I liked Ria a lot. It was our first time working in harrismith and she fetched us, made us feel welcomed. It was a beautiful experience. The room was clean
Cons: The attitude of the lady working there.
Pros: Breakfast was lovely location was nice and central what we had to do
Cons: nothing wrong
Pros: The property is clean
Cons: Improve their breakfast
Pros: Lali's Guest House is located in a lovely old house, and Lali is very friendly and helpful. There is ample secure parking inside the property. There is no evening meal on offer, but there is a reasonable restaurant in the Spar complex, a couple of blocks away (this is unlicenced, so bring your own beer/wine if you feel like having a drink with your meal). I was travelling on business and needed to make an early start, so I was particularly impressed that Lali asked the cook to come in a little earlier (obviously the cook got a generous tip for being willing to do so).
Cons: I liked everything about the guest house. Unfortunately - with the best will in the world - the owners can't alter how tragically run down Harrismith has become.
Protea Hotel Montrose, only 20km South of Harrismith on the N3 highway, offers you a warm and cozy atmosphere with its natural fireplace in the bar-lounge area. The hotel adjoins Montrose Complex – best known by South Africans as the ‘Halfway House” – between Durban, Johannesburg and Bloemfontein. Protea Hotel Montrose is the perfect midway stop to relax overnight, meet, fill up, eat, shop and explore. It’s a hotel that complements your travel style. Facilities include a bar, lounge and Wi-Fi Internet access, with room service meals from a variety of restaurants and fast-food outlets in the village.
Pros: Nothing not to like
Cons: Friendly helpful staff
Pros: All was great
Cons: Water temperature too low
Pros: Everything about it
Pros: Willingness of staff to modify booking on arrival.
Cons: It was not envisaged nor expected, but a "room service" meal facility would be nice.
Pros: The location is perfect if you want to break up a long trip.the weather was freezing when we arrived, and the ac heater was excellent in warming up the room.the convenience of having a variety of food places right next to the hotel was also very convenient and some even offered delivery to the room(at an extra charge though!)
Cons: Although it was spotlessly clean-The bathroom and toilet is VERY outdated and old.the shower badly needs to be upgraded.there is also very limited dstv channels compared to other hotel group offerings, and considering we paid over R1000 a night-the fact that no breakfast is included in the rate(it is R195 extra per person) -was also very disapointing, but this is the norm in general for protea hotels.
Cons: No shower
Pros: clean .beautiful furniture.warm helpful staff...welcome.went the extra mile to help with wi fi
Pros: Whilst it’s just a hotel off the main highway between Joburg & Durban, it’s a good halfway stopover. Staff were exceptional and the small bar/restaurant cooked everything fresh & to your liking on the coal Braai. I liked it very much and very family-like compared to a normal Marriott-Protea. Yes I would stay there again.
Cons: Very little I did not like. It’s a Protea, so a medium class Marriott. Just nice it’s got a franchisee family feel than a large global chain. Maybe thinking about those that use it as a halfway stopover in terms of breakfast packs for early starters would be nice as you really do not get a chance to use the B’fast voucher if you wish to set off early.
Pros: Excellent service from the establishment in general, Juanita in particular, thanks!!
Pros: Large room with a comfortable bed and pillows.

Cons: As described, comfy and well located with plenty of restaurants around
Cons: The entrance door had large gaps and cold wind was entering the room. The bedding was terrible as it was lumpy. There was ants in the shower place. The place was very dusty. It would seem that the place was not cleaned. No Value for money.

Pros: The beds.
Cons: The entrance is very dark not attractive. The receptiinists also leaves room for dissapointment.
Pros: Good central location. Friendly staff.
Cons: Noisy water pump made slurping sound all night long right outside our room. There was a power cut in the evening, but i don't think it was necessary to start that loud generator just so we could watch TV and still have Wi-Fi. Candels for lighting would have been OK.

Pros: Pathetic, overpriced, breakfast poor, dirty would not recommend to any person Little Switzerland down the road would be a million times better option I felt that I was robbed paying R1600 .00 for the dump.
Cons: Everything nothing good about the place.
Pros: It was rustic, the hosts friendly and attentive, food was good, and bedding warm and cozy.
Cons: Nothing was not to our liking.
Pros: Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good location and tasty meals.
Pros: Bacon eggs and toast was fine
Cons: Curry Soup for Dinner? Sausage and Boerewors were Off! Hope your Dog is O K?
Pros: Hot water bottles in the bedroom, fresh milk for in room tea/coffee, friendly hosts, amazing apple pie, really good, hearty breakfast. The farm house has character and charm - it was a great stop over for us en route to the Royal Natal National Park.
Cons: Such a small detail - but butter instead of the butter substitute with breakfast would have made it perfect.
Pros: A fire to greet us. Breakfast 8/10. Heater. Large bed.
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and it was a dark moon, felt they could have mentioned this when I made the booking. Little Switzerland could not accommodate us and in a little sports car we had to wind our way to Tower of Pizza on a back road.
Pros: Bed was extremely comfy. Staff were friendly and very accomodating. Having "Mungo" around was a extra bonus. The setting of the place is absolutely stunning.
Cons: Nothing really. I had a great stay.
Pros: Beds were very comfortable. Fireplace was a lifesaver in extremely cold weather. Manager went out of her way for me to be able to watch Superugby Final.
Pros: Very homely!
Cons: Partner was bit uncomfortable with shared tv facilities!
Pros: More cleanness required. Very old furniture. Food was good. There was no room heater and it was too cold
