10.0 Excellent
Pros: View is beautiful. Location in a quiet wooded valley is really great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great property at a reasonable price. Appreciate the view of Mount Rushmore, and all he great breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Bed were made for royalty! Shower was outstanding, especially after a day on the road! Breakfast was great!
Cons: Parking could have been an issue, we got lucky.. Thanks!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is outstanding and staff are friendly and helpful. The road to town is not far but very windy and dark so walking at night could be tricky. You may feel that if you want to have a drink with dinner it’s best to eat at the hotel. The view from anywhere here is second to none. Sitting in the hot tub looking at Mnt Rushmore was a highlight for us. The fire pit and gardens were lovely.
Cons: We weren’t told there was a wedding reception using the hotel bar and so on arrival for dinner we felt like underdressed gate-crashers. As did other hotel guests. The bar staff did all they could to accommodate those of us waiting to get dinner. The food in the bar was tasty but expensive for what’s on offer with a limited menu. Breakfast by comparison had a wider selection and was plentiful. Those with limited mobility may find walking between hotel, bar and restaurant challenging.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The lodge was beautiful. We could see part of Mount Rushmore from our room. Their complimentary breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have had. Walking the grounds is gorgeous. The nightly firep pt was a great place to mingle with other guests and star gaze. The outdoor patios and green spaces around the lodge were plentiful and offered beautiful scenery.
Cons: The younger male front desk staff was less than stellar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views
Cons: The manager did not seem to care for motorcycles
5.0 Okay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent room, excellent service and staff. Great place to stay... highly recommend! We enjoyed the marmots playing in the grass and rocks... wonderful to watch!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay just off main road in keystone. Quiet great views. Will be staying again next year.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are comfortable and clean...not fancy. The breakfast buffet was great...lots of options and a beautiful setting to enjoy it in. You can either sit in a glass greenhouse-type room or outside on the deck overlooking the wildlife. The hotel is 2 minutes off the main road in Keystone and 15 minutes from Mt. Rushmore...a perfect location!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked this lodge based on its location to the landmarks we wanted to visit. We discovered that Keystone was the perfect spot for our family. Quiet, quaint little town. The lodge is tucked back in the hills with profile views of Washington and Lincoln. Wildlife all around and the grounds were well manicured. Breakfast was outstanding and never left hungry. Great variety for everyone including the kids who loved making their own waffles. Location to Rushmore was about 2 miles from the lodge, Custer about 20-30 minutes and same to crazy horse. The lodge also sits next to the railroad tracks where the 1800 train travels round trip to hill city. The trains whistle/horn is extremely loud but such a cool site to see the steam and the sound as the train chugs by. The train isn’t an issue in the evening as the last train leaves around 5pm. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to stay while in the Black Hills and will definitely book this property in the future.

Roosevelt Inn Mount Rushmore - Keystone - Building
6
8.6 Excellent (1,100 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Family run hotel located at the base of Mount Rushmore. Indoor pool with free breakfast and wifi. Game room, guest laundry and gazebo. Great reviews and a very central location close to all the Black Hills has to offer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, enjoyed the balcony. Staff wonderful, had to cut our stay short due to illness but they were very acomodating and helpful.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The morning breakfast was a great start to the day. It changed each day and was always great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. We were a couple of minutes drive from Mount Rushmore, across the road from zip lining and aerial rope course and an easy walk into keystone for restaurants and shops. The family suite was spacious and the beds and bathroom were very clean. The staff were all very friendly
Cons: The hotel was as expected and we enjoyed our stay. Be aware that the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally takes place at the start of August - motorbikes were very noisy! Of course this is nothing to do with the hotel. We could not hear noise from our room. The hotel was quiet, despite being fully booked.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location, staff, balcony
Cons: problems with toilet flushing bathroom small with sink outside
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Their breakfast had a good variety of food which changed slightly day to day. The location is great. You can easily walk to much of Keystone but the hotel is a little bit back from the hustle and bustle so you don't get the noise.
Cons: The room was a little small. They need a towel rack right by the sink it is currently on the other side off the wall. The paint job in the room was terrible. Paint all along the door and baseboard. I don't think the painter cleaned any paint smears.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Game Center and very close to the Rushmore memorial. There are lots of hiking places nearby and many places to visit in the area about 1 hour travel to different national parks in the Black Hills, museums, traditional towns and wonderful food.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was OK
Cons: I left a day early as I was not feeling well and was refused my money back for the room I had already paid for. I am sure the room was rented out so they actually made extra because of that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the look of the motel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location to Mt Rushmore was perfect. Came during the motorcycle rally by accident but this hotel was a little quieter and it was great.
Cons: Pool was small.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic. It was in the middle of Keystone. The young man that maintains the property is one the most polite and helpful people I have ever met.
Cons: Our air conditioner had to be changed out 2 times in three days and the third air conditioner even froze up so we just started unplugging it and thawing it out then plugging it back in. The young man changed it out twice but obviously there was another issue. The hallway on floor 3 was also very muggy. Even with this I would stay here again. The bad did not out weigh the good.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for exploring the Black Hills area. Room was drafted but clean and comfortable. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the room, clean and welcoming!!
Cons: Didn't like the parking

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast each day was great. Something different was served each day we were there. The family and animals were friendly, the scenery was pastoral and there trail access across the road to the Black Hills National forest.
Cons: Everything was excellent. The only word of caution is that coming back in in the evening can be tricky as you are driving right into the sun with deer frolicing near the road. Fortunately we didn't even have any close calls with them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about it! The room was awesome and comfortable. The view were outstanding. The staff was friendly and provided excellent advice about sites to see in area. Breakfast was yummy. The goat was friendly a greeter.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful scenery!! Very homey feeling!! Kids loved all the animals and jacuzzi every night!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, easy access to all the main attractions, family friendly goat came to visit. Hot tub and fire pit area was also nice to have and was not crowded with other guest so was nice and quite.
Cons: I guess I did not read well that the kitchenette did not have a stove top so was expecting to cook more dinner and a breakfast at location and used the grill to make shift a breakfast. Breakfast was provided everyday and seem to have been a good selection but we are not early birds and 8 am was not going to work for us, but was a nice option for those people that are early birds. But if staying here again will be a little more prepared as to what I can and cannot do. Everything else was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting. Relaxing and fun perks like Ode the goat. Kids loved it

Pros: Comfort, view,
Cons: It was a horse ranch, wanted to ride and it was not available? Nice place but something when wrong.

Pros: Parks the green areas no more
Cons: Cable tv very poor , to noise hard to sleep ,pool to much Clorox .parking spot hard to find at night..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beds were comfortable, Staff was very helpful. Cleaning staff did a great job
Cons: Rooms were small. Brought granddaughter and her friend. No way all three of us could stay in one room so rented another for them. Parking was terrible. Not enough parking and stalls were too tiny. I have a Saturn Ion and could barely fit my car in a slot without bumping into the vehicles next to me when getting out of my car.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was pretty good. Centrally located to most of the area's attractions. The hotel and the room were very clean, while not modern or fancy it did the job.
Cons: We had an ADA room with a king bed that was very cramped, not sure how a wheelchair could move around. We had no place to put our bags not to mention the bikes that we brought. The parking was also really tight and hard to come by.
6.3 Good
Pros: The motel was easy to find and in the middle of the small town, restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
Cons: There was no breakfast, inadequate parking spaces with lines drawn so that people were confused how to park. The parking spaces were too little to accommodate an average size car and not enough spaces for all the guests. Additionally tourists who were not staying at the hotel were parking in the hotel's parking places. The hallways were dark and not air conditioned, the pool was a milky color. Hotel needs major updating, carpeting needs to be replaced, the rooms are extremely small.

8.8 Excellent
Cons: Location was fine but parking on the second story parking garage is not for cars. The ramp down to ground level is steep and the low clearance of most cars will allow the front to scrape on the ground going down the ramp.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Front desk was friendly. Location was great.
Cons: Eggs were watery, not a lot of selection for breakfast. Room was too small and did not look like the picture on the website. The hot tub has build up that was grey and tan in color on the walls and floating in the tub. Parking structure was tight.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful with a situation we had. Ámbar was great.
Cons: na
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: This was great for location at the base of Mt Rushmore but terrible for everything else! We booked 6 weeks in advance, traveling with our kids, we asked for a cot and crib. Neither was provided, as we were placed in the smallest room. There was a "lotion like" substance under one of the beds, next to a dirty towel. The room smelled bad and was poorly cleaned. The front desk staff blamed us for the mess, asked us to leave at 10:15 at night. (Mind you traveling with kids...) My husband called the manager and she apologized and gave a measly discount. This was a terrible location for service, cleanliness and staff. Save your money and book in Rapid city, only a few extra minutes drive to Mt Rushmore.
Cons: This is a terrible location, please see above description.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was wonderful!!
4.3 Okay
Pros: employees were great !!!!
Cons: Facilities need updated. Tiny bathroom. Limited parking
7.0 Good
Pros: The location of the property was perfect for visiting Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the surrounds. It was also great for walking across the road for dinner. The rooms were pretty standard.
Cons: We were right outside the pool - so it was a little smelly and noisy right up until the 9.30pm cut off. The bathroom was tiny and behind the door wasn't cleaned from the previous person's hair.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Walking distance to stores
Cons: The room and bathroom were way too small. Driveway and access to facility were terrible. Noisy. Breakfast was cold and tasted bad.
3.5 Mediocre
Pros: the location in town was good, breakfast okuaq
Cons: We asked for a two queen bed room and was not told that it was in the garage and had no window except into the garage. Don't know how you can rent a room with carbon monoxide coming in through the small open window, The bathroom was so small you could hardly turn around. Lucky we were not big people or we could have not gotten in. Beds were against the wall and so we had to crawl over each other. Looked at rooms on line but these rooms were not shown and price for this room was absolutely ridiculous. Will never recommend or stay at the Quality Inn in Keystone again,
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel was convenient. Front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Hotel was overpriced because of its proximity to Mt Rushmore.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic. It's a very short drive to Mt Rushmore. And it's in downtown Keystone, so you can walk to restaurants and shopping! Walkability is important to us.
Cons: It is noisy. We could hear everything going on in the parking lot in our room. Also, parking is a very tight fit.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The pool was nice.
Cons: Worst breakfast I have ever encountered. Coffee was mediocre, the biscuits were terrible and the gravy was like water. The dispenser for cereal was impossible to operate without the handle pulling out. The eggs were runny and the breakfast meats appeared boiled. Really a disappointment and we were there for three days so this was not a one time thing. The beds in the room were so crowded in that you could only get into bed on one side. My wife and I had quite a time getting in and out. This was because the room was small and cramped. The toilet/shower area were smaller than those on a ship. A total disappointment. I never stay in hotels rated lower than 9, this place should be a 7.

4.5 Okay
Pros: Location - right near everything on the main street tourist district.
Cons: There was no hot water in all the rooms for the entire property. This condition lasted all through the night and into the next morning. The onsite staff could not answer any questions about it. There was no refund or discount given for such an obvious lack of service. A voucher for a future stay was given (good for two years), but I don't travel to Keystone, SD very much at all. I've only been there three times in 26 years.

Cons: Not a deal breaker but the bathroom was a little small and the shower head is pretty low. Also, it would've been nice to have a mini fridge in the room so I didn't have to keep getting ice for our cooler.

Cons: We only had one tiny wastebasket in our room, definitely not big enough for a room with 4 people staying in it. Room was very small. The shallow side of the pool said 2 feet deep. It was @ least 3 feet deep..very deceiving & dangerous

Pros: Comfortable beds and pillows. Good coffee. Clean
Cons: Breakfast needs help. Add bacon or sausage. Waste a lot of water waiting for it to get hot.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was an easy check in. Easy to find. The guy at register was very nice. He came to the room to show us how to run the darn remote. It had a pool and breakfast was included to 9 a.m.
Cons: Only 1 bar of soap for bathroom to use for sink and shower. Not enough room on both sides of the bed for end tables. End tables are used for our cpap machines. I slept at the end of the bed and used a chair for an end table. We didn't have time to use the pool (our choice) or eat breakfast (slept in.)
7.5 Good
Pros: Rooms were cozy and clean. Staff was courteous!
Cons: No one was in front office for 2 hours when needed. Someone should ALWAYS be there! Paying $100 a night, the breakfast should be a buffet breakfast consisting of: eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, toast, hash browns, etc. Not just bagels, cereal n muffins!!

Cons: The pool was extremely cold. It was not fun to even swim in it.

Pros: location
Cons: I called to make sure a standard room had 2 queen beds and was told it did. Upon checking in, we were given a queen with a pullout in a very closed quartered room.

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The room initially offered was way below standard. The carpet was filthy, just walking in to a hot musty room, was very disappointing!! No place should rent that room, let alone for 107$. The second room offered, better with the wood like flooring, but the king mattress was broken down on the right side, a person was not able to sleep on that side. Dirt behind the headboard of the king, even old popcorn between the headboard and wall. Very displeased, for that price one expects at least the room to be clean!!
4.3 Okay
Pros: Convenient to where we wanted to go. Easy to get in there.
Cons: Didn't have cleaning service -had to go and ask for the things we needed. Didn't have the bed made no coffee in room for the next morning. Went to get breakfast in the morning, so busy the first morning, couldn't even get in there. Second morning all they had were muffins, dry cereal and NO Coffee. We were told it would take 15 min to 1/2 hour for the coffee. We just left.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Poor quality, cheap looking, bathroom sad, gap under entry door.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: It is a dump , dirty in a dark area and just falling apart
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was perfect for us,accommodating parking for cycle AND truck w/trailered cycles. Breakfast was better than adequate for a small $100 motel. TV nice size for room.
Cons: Cob webs in every corner of room. Cig butts cluttered front porch,AC so dusty we had to clean filter ourselves, gooy nasty dust needed to be rubbed off every light fixture
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quant facility, more like a suite,, 2 separate rooms each with a queen bed
6.0 Good
Pros: The one good thing was that they provided a decent breakfast with a good variety to choose from.
Cons: Very uneven floor due to foundation settling. Small, short Shower stall. The shower head was mouth height and bending over enough was difficult. Lamps and alarm clock were unplugged. Would have been nice to have confirmation of what time zone I was in
6.0 Good
Pros: Single cabin style with available parking right outside your door
Cons: The sheets were dirty and the liquid dispensers were empty. The fridge was very dirty and looked like stuff was spilled inside that pooled at the bottom and was never cleaned.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The person who checked us in was nice and friendly and helpful.
Cons: There was a spot on the floor in front of the toilet that had to be dried urine. The carpet in the bedroom was covered in spots. The shower curtain was filthy and shower area moldy. These conditions made me feel like everything was dirty. Sink was clean.
6.8 Good
Pros: I loved the location! Keystone is beautiful. I like how the rooms went with the “feel” of the mountains, only because there were no outside halls and when you opened the door, you automatically got to see the beautiful view of the mountains and old historical buildings. I also liked that the gentleman who checked us in was kind and checked on us the next day to see if we needed housekeeping.
Cons: The rooms needed updating. Our mattress was old and worn out along with the bedding. It creaked every time we moved. The furniture in the room was very worn out and smelled. I didn’t feel comfortable walking around barefooted and even wore flip flops to shower.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location close to sights.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better. Floors needed mopping.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Unassuming, nice clean rooms. Great location. Had a stream in our backyard right out of our sliding door. Babbling Brook. Friendly staff. Great location! Great value.

Pros: Nice spot
Cons: Location
7.0 Good
Pros: Rooms were clean. Cindy went above and beyond to help when asked. Area surrounding room was interesting
Cons: Some staff acted like they could care less when approached with issues. Such as waffles were crumbled because it needed oil sprayed on it. When staff saw this he just sat behind the desk and ignored the situation until I finally spoke to him about spraying oil on it. Another visitor had same problem and he never attempted to help them either. Desk clerk could be more friendlier.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is within walking distance of the businesses.

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Had kids right above us that liked to run and jump on the beds
7.0 Good
Pros: Fun location
Cons: Our room was back in a hole down a hall. I think the town doesn't have a fire marshal because there is no way my room or two others would have passed a fire code.
