This is a great, modern, hotel. very hand to city centre, shops and night life.If you are arriving by train, its just a few minutes walk to the hotel.
Location No parking, cheaper on discount site.
We had an amazing view over the city as we were on the 9th floor. The room was clean. We arrived about 6pm and the bar was rather rowdy, It was like being at a football match. The room was nice but rather cold. We tried to adjust the heating but seemed to be blowing cold air. As we were there only one night we didn't report it at the time. No on sight parking.
Easy Access and Good Positioning
No hassle, good slick operation. Decent breakfast. Key card had to be reset, apart from that it was great.
Room was spacious The car park was not that easy to get to. The heater in the room did not appear to work.
center of city... few minutes walk from station
everything...very clean modern hotel with excellent food &bars and friendly staff everything was fine...
comfortable room, good breakfast noise from other residents was unacceptable - didn't sleep well
It was clean, comfortable and efficient Everything was fine.
The people working in the reception had little knowledge about the city and their univeritiees. No city maps available.
the bar was nice and ok the hotel needs to be updated the breakfast was ok but i came in at 8 after everyone was gone it looked like a camp site
Staff very pleasant and attentive. Sausages at breakfast were very nice Glass of white wine reasonably priced and pleasant Hotel grubby, shabby and noisy (linen clean though) It looked derelict from the outside and in the throes of a rather patchy, amatuer renovation job inside. My room was pokey, grubby (carpet, curtains and walls) with an ensuite that had seen better days (soap dish hanging off the wall and a nasty plastic curtain). It fronted on to a very busy road that resembled a racing track in terms of noise, all night - the windows did nothing to mute the noise. Even at £37 ish, with breakfast, it was wildly over priced for it's current condition.
None Our room got broken into..My laptop was stolen also all my partner's clothes was stolen... Hotel would not refunded us our money back for the room as we were so distress to stay in the hotel overnight...
The location and breakfast were excellent, room and bathroom were large. Hopefully once the refurbishment is complete all amenities will be available. Wish someone had thought about where the radio & alarm clock should be placed as on headboard, just at head height in middle of bed, was NOT well thought out!
the breakfast and the friendliness of the management.
Convenient location. Good car park out of sight of main road. Hot water not always available. Breakfast very slow at being served at the weekend. Dodgy lock on room door.
the location was good and the staff were very friendly the beds were uncomfortable
Within easy reach of public transport, shops and restaurants. Apparently, it has not been refurbished for very very long time. Room and bathroom stuffy.
lost for words
Just served a purpose Told there would be a shuttle and there wasn't
Ease of checking in and out, self service breakfast. Choice of breakfast, I would have preferred and better selection, a bit basic.
British breakfast with scrumble egg and sausages. Drinks and sweets services. 24h/24h desk. Near East Midlands Airport but more than 1 mile walk. Calm but we stayed in low season. BOOKING_com false price for a 4 adult room booked. We had to pay 15 gbp per night/per adult if more than 2 adults in room. The 4 adult room was a double bed with sofa. Sofa bedding was not done, we had to do ourself our bed for 15 gbp per night/per adult supplement! Not enough light in the room. Old tv set, with all channels a little scrumbled.
comfy room, good breakfast, no problems arriving late. Very much a business hotel. Could do with better directions from airport
Excellent location for the airport, the staff were very friendly and efficient and the rooms were well equipped and comfortable. We spent a very relaxing evening there and were also able to have something to eat, despite the late hour of our arrival. The buffet breakfast was also excellent. No negatives.
Breakfast was horrible
On airport campus and had car parking facilities The hotel provided me with all I wanted for access to airport
hotel facilties and location
good value for money
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle from the hotel was speedy and efficient We ate in the restaurant but were dissapointed by the choice, partivularly as ran out of fish which was one of the 4 items on the menu. In addition the air conditioning leaked over my 5 year old's bed and he was forced to share a single bed with another adult.
The fire alarm went off at 6:45!
Size of bedroom and general cleanliness of the hotel
All staff excellent - they seem to like having hotel guests and enjoy working there. Room had an iron and ironing board and tea-making facilities. Location is first rate. The 'Double Deluxe Room' was just an ordinary double room with a rather narrow double bed. No room safe, no mini-bar.
Location excellent Hotel in serious need of refurbishment. Although the price was reasonable for the Hilton, was placed in a box room, no window views and room needed a few locks of paint. Would have paid more and stayed in a more modern hotel
I was charged 33.50 for breakfasts yet had paid for bed and breakfast was only told about 3.50 tray charge not that I had to pay for breakfast again this was not on the bill I was given with breakfast
The hotel was perfectly placed to visit our son at university and be right in the heart of things for shopping and eating. We have stayed here once before and would stay again. The floorboards in our room (312) and the surrounding rooms were creaky and we therefore heard people moving about.
Location. Horrendous price when we could have paid half on booking.com; small compact room, hardly any space to move about in the room. Very hard to find. We had to park in the shopping centre Victoria and then find our way to the hotel. Will definitely ask my friends to stay away from this hotel when £130 could buy so much more elsewhere in Nottingham.
The only things I liked about this hotel was the city centre location and some of the staff were exceptionally pleasant. We were not given the room as described on-line. There was a very small (1 glass) of wine and 2 chocolates (not a box) as described on-line. The bar prices were ridiculously expensive.
City centre location; pleasant décor; fairly good value for money Too warm in room; shower head fell off when adjusting; room size quite small and cramped; very few extras (like shoe buffer)
Good location Service was abysmal. Staff were useless apart from one girl - Tona - who was the only efficient member of staff.
Location perfect, hotel staff superb!! Hotel room clean tidy and well stocked :) There's nothing to write!!
The cleanliness that you would expect at a modern new hotel together with the price
It was ideally situated in the Lace Market area and although on a busy road, it was very quiet at nightNotg Not enough pilows on the bed
Room was clean and tidy On booking in reception could not find my reservation
Very clean, the hotel had all the facilities we needed for a one night stay None
Staff are courteous Better if toothpaste ,slippers etc simple disposible consumables are provided.
Centrally convenient, staff dealt with minor issue immediately
Fab place to stay, in the centre of Nottingham. No noise of note, friendly staff. Everything was great
Clean and centrally located Parking expensive. No free Wi-Fi. No hair-dryer supplied in room.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. However for the price, it was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and bathroom functional. I would choose to stay here again if I was visiting Nottingham. The wifi Internet and breakfast were very expensive for a budget hotel!
The breakfast is fine. The room is clean. The staffs were helpful The heating system in the room is bad. Its really freezing in the room. Car park also very limited
Close to local ammenities Unsatisfactory greeting/felt a very unwelcome hinderance to the member of staff. Bathroom and room appeared dirty,or in need of serious updating.bed sheets old and off colour. Facilities not explained/breakfast not started until 08.00 therefore went without.
nothing particulary the fact that the bedroom reminded me of stay with my great nan and she has been dead 20 years. The sharing of facilites - bathroom and toilet
Friendly reception The bed mattress was far worn out, very unpleasant sleep. Bathroom shower weak, difficult to set good water temperature. Window looking on very busy noisy road.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast good. The shower and bedroom were nicely decorated and clean. The room was small with very little storage space. ok for one night only.
The room was big, clean and comftable, all what you need when you are travelling
The staff was simply wonderful!! Thanks so much and a cooked breakfast alwys a treat. I spoiled myself and took a double room just for me- room 10 and was in heaven.
More Channels on TV in the hotel rooms; Nottingham Buses did not know about Hotel P&J, Although it is on the main derby road and nearby a bus stand. If it is a common bus point every stanger can approach this hotel from airport. about 25pounds can be saved via bus from airport.
Quiet hotel and breakfast was very good. Convenient for getting to the hospital and University. This hotel was a little expensive compared to other hotels of same standard. Room was a little outdated and shower needed improving/replacing.
Helpful, friendly staff. Spotlessly clean room. Self-control room heater a thoughtful touch. Food and service excellent. On the spot car park. Traffic noise from nearby road.
Free parking, close to city centre and football stadiums
Nice big bed, plenty of pillows, clean and quiet When I phoned Reception I got no reply. The Wake Up call facility on my phone did not work.
It was excellent value, centerally located and nice and clean
The food was very good and the restaurant staff were extremely efficient and pleasant. We enjoyed our weekend in the hotel, which was ideally situated for the Arena but we were not impressed with Nottingham ,as a city.
The staff was excellent, helpful, friendly and have good humor. Nothing
Clean and comfortable Couldn't get room heater to work properly
Good location. Clean, comfortable and polite staff. Only 2 tea bags in the room! Shower was a difficult to adjust to get hot water.
Proximity to Nottingham Station. No reduction in price for not being to partake of breakfast due to early departure. Failure of electronic door lock on room door.
the rooms and facilities were fantastic. Located on the river gave a very nice view in an otherwise busy city.
Nice and central for my needs. Room was small, but I asked for a single!
totally enjoyed our overnight stay room was of high standard staff were helpful and friendly, would have no hesitation in recommending hotel to anyone looking for a good city hotel.
Staff polite, hotel clean and nicely furnished. The room was very small.
I got a discount when I complained about the hotel room etc. It was appalling - in need of a complete revamp and a new chef.
The staff were very helpful and the bathroom was lovely. There is no parking - you have to park at an NCP car park. However, it is very close, and only cost about £7.00 for the night.
boutique hotel, very nice and comfortable.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very well organised, food excellent. Despite a reported problem with the kitchen, breakfast was delivered quickly.
Beautiful hotel with a great location Wifi didn't work & staff didn't seem to be able to contact anyone so we had to check out 1 day earlier than planned
Wifi was not working and we were left to find out for ourselves after numerous connectivity attempts. Hotel could have put a note round to Wifi rooms
it was a warm hotel nice and quite very good staff and the food was very well priced good parking
Resturant facilities very good. Noisy environment, could hear people speaking in room next door and lots of corridor noise.
Eveving meal and breakfast in the Resterant were very good. Staff were all very freindly and helpful.
Bar Staff helpful. Reception had strong, overpowering smell of dogs. Cooked breakfast looked good, but was stone cold and left by us and most of the other guests.
Dinner value for money & proximity to M1. Good quality towels. Noise from extractor fans in bathrooms in adjacent rooms
Food excellent, staff friendly, overall a great place None
Clean room friendly staff None
Room ok, not a lot of room around bed, dressing table a bit tired and a light over would be good, bathroom very good Lounge area in reception seems to be for managers and [smelly] dog, need to be separate. Staff a bit too casual in dress.
Good evening meal, the steaks are to die for! Well cooked breakfast in the morning and a good comfortable room. What more con a person ask for!
Staff polite and friendly, food excellent, room modern and clean, value for money None
Friendliness of owners, made very welcome, very helpful and nothing too much trouble..even booked a table for us at a local indian restaurant! Breakfast scrummy..will definitely return and reccomend to others. Nothing
Excellent, friendly communication. Food fresh and well presented with home made bread and honey/preserve so thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Small point which was going to be fixed that day, no towel rail in the en suite
Very friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and extremely helpful. Parking a little awkward.
The breakfast was very nice. Yes being on the top floor at the end of the day was tiring, and everytime we needed the bathroom it was the floor below, rooms needed decorating.
There was nothing to like about it only the pub adjacent Bedrooms and breakfast room far to small and i stayed in a converted shed in the garden
Really friendly staff , always polite. No bad points.
Location to and ease of access to East Midlands Airport, The room allocated (No 10) garden room very small, no wardrobe space.
Parking, Staff, Breakfast Tv had red picture
Excellent welcome and service given by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they really made our stay a memorable one. The breakfasts were fantastic.Really good quality for the price. Parking was tight on occasions but it was carefully managed so never caused a real problem. The rooms to the front of the hotel were rather noisy due to the heavy traffic.
the owner and his wife made us extremely welcome but did not interfere. The breakfast was excellent.
Location was good close to amenities.Pool was good, staff were uhelpful especially reception, breakfast was good, room a bit shabby and tired looking
fitness facilities beds too short
Reception staff were most helpful, polite and friendly.
the choice and variety, the hotel/pub was was great
swimming pool & facilities Layout of rooms confusing
Walking round the local nature reserve Receptionists are always so uninterested in customers these days - really unwelcoming
Staff and facilities Extremely difficult to find. Directions did not mention it was on a retail park. This would have made it much easier.
Location Very cold room on arrival. Queueing at breakfast - a free for all - despite beng advised to go early. We believe this was to try and clear the breadkfasts out of the way early. Reception staff on booking in too busy talking to pals whilst booking us in.
health suite and gym was good. Swimming pool was good Room service was very basic with no health options It was also noisy due to railway
the leisure facilties were excellent, not being able to pay by visa electron was a downer as i had previuosly paid this way at the same hotel in walsall. breakfast was very nice be warned it can b a very noisy hotel if there is a wedding party, as my fiance and i found out....fast asleep at 2am and drunken youths etc are literally trying to hammer ur door down and being rowdy and had to to go out the door and sort them out.
good value, beefeater was very good.
Excellent staff and reception on arrival Very uncomfortable bed
very good welcome @ reception room big enough and comfortable. room smelt of urine but otherwise clean and comfortable
easy access to town and the food weather
Handy location off M1
Very clean + good value for money, and very friendly efficient staff. It was also extremely convenient so close to the m1 and right next to the tram line to get into Nottingham! The Beefeater restaurant on the premises was also very convenient.
Ease of access to the City centre and restaurant No
Room was a good size and very clean. Overlooking the car park and reasonably quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Rooms overlooking the restaurant area may be noisier - we stayed on a Saturday night and there were quite a few people outside when we arrived at 11pm. The other side was quieter.
Friendly staff, helpful, good location for trams into city, conveniently situated and easy to drive to.
Pre-refurb-style bed which was really comfortable not the usual slab of concrete I have come to expect from Premier Inn. Pillows too soft and very uncomfortable. Staff in restaurant calling me Hun and Love constantly.
If you like a old manor style of Hotel with character set in acres of ground, this is it. Apparently the staff do not receive the tips!
communal areas were lovely The room could be modernised
The bar Hallway noise
The situation of the hotel in an attractive setting and helpfulness of staff The hole in the ceiling of our room where a central light had been removed. It looked unsightly and spoiled the whole effect of decoration
Friendly helpfull staff, good value and location
The building and location. Crying babies being brought into the bar area from Wedding Reception.
Impressive manor in the middle of a green park. To visit at least once in your life! Very English. Value for money.
The building and location n/a
Access to second floor size of room allocated less than I was expecting from BW
Old World character of the hotel. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff The hotel was slightly tired looking. Needed refurbishment. Also not very easy to find.
relaxed atmosphere, friendly staffand lovely settng
An excellent place to stay with very helpful staff and pleasant surroundings- yet very accessible to Nottingham.
Historic house in attractive grounds. Excellent value with Bookings.com discount. Spacious bedroom with large TV. Bed was a bit hard for my liking.
view from berdoom window second night food limited choice
Staff very helpful The rooms need to be air conditioned, this what you would expect for this hotel
Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Facilities in our room were very good. The hotel is in the heart of the countryside and yet only ten minutes from a major city.
The rooms were lovely, very classic and oppulent large and comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean and spacious. The furnishings were looking a bit tired and in need of refreshing
Restaurant;middle of no where you have this exotic food with classic dining is something! Lord Byron would be proud to wellcome anyone who wish to see English heritage!! colwick Hall has it all. sorry it was only 1 night stay.would like to go back!! magnificent building, luxurious beautiful decorations excellent hotel with unprofessional staff(while we were in the champagne lounge one was mopping sametime apologize of horrible smell!)
Friendly staff. Beautiful room.
Staff were great, both on reception and in the georgetown restaurant - very friendly and welcoming.. bathroom was super - but note below re: cold! Would love to come again - maybe when its warmer! The only problem was that it was very cold! We had to have a portable heater right next to us in the restaurant for our evening meal. the bathroom was beautiful - but again very cold, and the towel rail radiator didn't seem to work. Bedroom warmed up thanks to the portable radiator.
The staff in the diining area very good and friendly my third visit, The beds in the room need looking into, other wise all good
interior, staff, beautiful picturesque scenery very expensive internet facilities, early cleaning of the rooms
Poor customer service
The rooms were nice and the breakfast was good The staff always looked miserable, although they were helpfull. I felt uncomfortable asking for help. The toilet didn't work in the room we were allocated and we had to swap rooms.
Excellent price and convenient location
The staff were helpful and very friendly. I was upgraded as there were no rooms of the type I had booked. The shower was cold! There was a cobweb in my face as I entered the room which would suggest the cleanliness could be better.
I liked being able to have a smoking room although the agent on the telephone told me that none were available at this hotel. As there are only two smoking rooms in this hotel, I was very lucky to secure one on check in and would like to suggest that you inform people of this option when they telephone to book. My room was opposite the pantry which meant a very disturbed night as I was awoken by clattering of pots whenever anyone requested room service. I also found the room very cold. The notice said the heating is turned on only in the autumn and winter months, however, as you know, England can be cold at any time. The hotel is very badly signposted. There is a sign at the roundabout but none to show where the hotel drive is. Both myself and my visitor spent at least ten minutes driving around looking for the entrance. A sign would be good.
The location was very convenient for the motorway and was within walking distance of Sandiacre. The food was not very good
Friendly staff. One of our two rooms was upgraded. 24 hour service was available - but not to the room - it was a fair walk to collect food in the night. Expensive Internet access.
I found the hotel, as I have each time I have stayed there to be very pleasant and very convenient for me and my business needs.
My wife and enjoyed the comfort of the bed and the excellent business-like breakfast. The staff were friendly and responsive to our questions. Our SATNAV did not find the hotel based on the postcode and there were no obvious signs. I had to telephone the hotel to get guidance. Once we found it there was not a problem returning to it.
We stayed at the hotel due to a Xmas party and found the room and facilities excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful. Although our xmas meal was good we did feel the service was not planned well and there was confusion in bringing out the meals from the kitchen.
The lady on reception was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. I had requested a room in the quietest part of the hotel and it was very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was served in the function room which felt a bit weird as there were only 2 other tables occupied. The hotel was further from the M1 than we thought it would be
Very nice staff. Food good, quite comfortable being there as a lone travelller. Nice change from chain hotels. Probably a little overpriced but nice all the same.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.
The hotel was fantastic. The room was splendid and would be classified by most hotels as a Luxury room - here it was their standard. It had a lovely 4-poster bed, was in it's own private building with a room upstairs and downstairs and have great facilities -shower/bath/large double wardrobe etc. It's about 6 miles from town so is a few £s in taxis to go out in town or when shopping but at the reduced rate of £65 we didn't mind. I wouldn't pay the £100 standard rate as I normally use hotel rooms to sleep - I'd definitely pay it for a relaxing weekend spent in the room though ;)
We were happy with the room , and the evening meal was quite outstanding and good value for money, if we come to Nottingham again we will certainly stay here
Our room was much bigger than we expected as was the en suite.
The staff were friendly, excellent breakfast and the rooms were perfectly adequate for our stay. The room was extremely hot when we arrived - we had to turn down the heating and open the window!
I thought it was the staff at the hotel which made my stay enjoyable. They were incredibly helpful, warm and welcoming, and catered to my every need. I especially want to thank Kerry as she was a star. The room I stayed in which I payed 57 pounds for was up to date, clean, and comfortable. The drinks were reasonably priced, and I recommend the burger and homemade chips, they were lush. The hall ways and stairs are creaky!! But still a nice hotel.
Average facilities Hotel had booked a wedding into the hotel and instead of allocating rooms immediately over the reception to wedding guests placed part of our group in a room where the walls were vibrating from the Disco downstairs. Hotel staff could have cared less and were completely unhelpful about rectifying the situation. Intend to write a strong letter of complaint to both the hotel and to best western upon my return from vacation. Quite a disastrous stay really.
very frendly staff
staff and convenience of location and parking and value
The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. On my first night I woke up sleep time disorientated and the night porter was fantastic. Not so much a didn't like, but the restaurant staff are so focused on what they are doing they miss the request for attention from customers - especially evening staff, so would suggest the odd upward gaze to see if any assistance is required.
good general standards throughout the hotel overall quality of the stay was let down by one staff member (waitress staff Tuesday & Wednesday) who demonstrated a complete disinterest in any task performed, could not complete simplest of tasks competently, was poor at deailing with own mistakes
The entrance to the Hotel gave us a good feel about the place. We were impressed by the size of the bedroom and bathroom and it was extremely comfortable and well decorated. It was an easy walk to the theatre so no extra driving. Nothing
The price of the room was extremely reasonable and the breakfast was very good. The hotel also had free parking. My shower didn't work and I was allocated a smoking room, despite requesting a non-smoking room.
The hotel is in a very good location for nottingham city and is very pleasant to stay in most of the time
The size of the double beds are HUGE! all facilitys within the room you could ask for. a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you into town centre runs every 10mins at £1.60 for a adult. and the breakfast was amazing buffet style get as much or little as you please with cooked breakfast, fruit, yoghurt and pastrys couldnt wish for anymore
bar downstairs no wifi in room and tempermental tv. asked for 3 single beds but got a double and single
nothing The fact the car park had not gritted, causing an accident which my car was damaged which spoiled the overall stay.
It was a nice hotel there was a wedding party till 1am in the morning so there was loud music.
I need to explain. I booked the Gateway Hotel Nottingham as a suprise for my daughter and son in law. Their comments are glowing the hotel receptionist was very helpful, friendly and made them feel special. The head waiter also went out of his way to make their stay great. Thankyou I couldnot have choose a better place for them
Easy to book in, pleasant staff, nice surroundings No
Friendly Welcome, Safe Parking, Simple Clean and comfortable Rooms - Great price, Convenient Location.
Except for one female at reception, everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was good in restaurant and at breakfast. Room was a very good size. Reception person was almost rude. Bathroom ceiling was full of mold, lampshades had huge amount of dust in the pleats and the dispensers for soap , etc. were too high up for a shorty like me.
comfortable room very clean and spacious good location freindley staff
The staff were welcoming, tidy in appearance and helpful. The hotel small and homely. No complaints
The room was clean and the shower was good. The staff were friendly. There was no window in the bedroom, only in the bathroom which made if feel a bit claustrophobic. The Saturday night there was a party going on in the room above until approx 4am.We could hear everything and could not go to sleep until it stopped.
Staff friendly & helpfull. room clean & comfortable. food well cooked & tasty. I would recommend this hotel & would stay again.
Sunday breakfast waitress very efficient and pleasant Hotel manager ignorant. Although after a heated discussion he did offer another room. We had only been in the hotel about half an hour there was banging on doors shouting and swearing, the manager felt this was appropriate behaviour for young men. The hotel was noisy all night and we were kept awake by the noise and couples screaming whilst having sex. Not okay when we had a full day of training. There was no heating in the bathroom and the beds were sloping.
Easy access to the city bus. Staff not knowledgeable of area or electrical adapters.
