Overview Reviews
Since 1850, the Willard has epitomized Washington luxury hotels and remains a destination for the world’s power brokers and visitors drawn to the nation’s capital. The hotel is charming and sophisticated, situated in a coveted location: just two blocks from the White House and National Mall. Revered by locals and guests, the Round Robin remains a lively meeting place since the days of Abraham Lincoln. After a busy day in D.C; enjoy a relaxing treatment at the Red Door Spa.
6.5 Good
Pros: Nice lobby, courteous staff, comfortable bed.
Cons: Tiny gym, mold in the bathroom grout, room amenities were average, surprising amount of wear and tear in our room for a hotel in this category.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is ideal for seeing the museums and monuments. Lobby and restaurant staff are warm and welcoming.
Cons: If you forget to tip housekeeping each morning, don't expect clean towels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, quiet and accommodating.
8.2 Excellent
Cons: Colonial parking provides valet parking at the Willard for $55 per night. They refused to tell me about any other options when there was another parking garage just behind the hotel. I won't return to the Willard until they lower their parking rates.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Ritz-Carlton is what we dreamed all our previous hotels would have been. The staff, facility, rooms, food, location, and atmosphere could not be improved. In addition to a beautiful property with excellent customer service, the Ritz-Carlton is literally steps from the Pentagon City Metro station. They treated my children like kings and made our stay well worth the price. The search for lodging in the Washington D.C. area has ended. We will never stay anywhere else again!
Cons: I cannot say I did not like anything. Even the small logistical issues we had, that come with children, were fixed above and beyond expectations. The staff over-compensated for any issue that arose during our stay. Others should learn from the Ritz-Carlton model.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, no outside noise what so ever despite the location.
Cons: Nothing that set apart the Ritz from the others, room, furniture, bathroom was very medicore and what you get from any other hotel in the same class.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Great bed.
Cons: Location is not good - no local character. Pretentious - with no good reason.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Service excellent, great atmosphere and convenient to all local area
Cons: Nothing,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Metro was just outside the front door and it made for very easy trips on the metro. The airport is only two stops away and you avoid the hassle of traffic if you don't have too much luggage to carry. I saw several families there so I think it would be a nice place for families too. And of course, the service was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
7.4 Good
Pros: Free early check-in. Quiet room.
Cons: No free wifi. Drab view from room.

7.4 Good
Pros: Very nice, large, clean rooms.
Cons: Under construction. Gets noisy well before 8am says it's in Georgetown but really it's east of it. Not a lot walking distance
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Overall, a nice hotel and had a good stay. I especially enjoyed the gym, which was the best hotel gym I've ever tried - had a lifting platform, power racks, and dumbbells going up to 120 lbs. My only complaint would be the daily parking fee, nearly $50 a day. Nearby garages seemed to be charging $20-$25 a day.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Several smokers on our floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very clean room and bathroom. Great ambiance in the area.
Cons: The air conditioner in the room would keep automatically changing to the heater setting.

Pros: Facility was quiet, clean and showed a high level of attention to detail. Concierge was very helpful for dinner recommendations and provided a perfect location that was not readily found via standard web based search.
Cons: Gym staff was inattentive and actually were playing 2 types of music very loudly at the same time!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Near perfect stay
Cons: Everything very pricey, but not out of line with the area.

7.7 Good
Pros: The ability to use Netflix and other internet tv providers was a bonus.
Cons: The shower tile bit into my feet and it was too large for a small shower head.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location, lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Wifi was fast.
Cons: Standup shower, no bathtub, bidet, or spray hose for personal hygiene. Pricey lobby food options. Breakfast was not included, but there's a perfectly nice breakfast cafe out the back entrance that's full of police and municipal workers, which was good enough for me!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fitness center is amazing. Rooms are spacious
Cons: Pet policy is awful. A dog barked into the early hours of the morning and staff did not handle appropriately
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, Excellent views, excellent Customer Service
Cons: Nothing. I only stayed one night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quality in all areas. They also honored my reservation with no problem even though I reserved it for the wrong night. They didn't make it like they were doing me a big favor either.
6.5 Good
Pros: Hotel is big, clean, and convenient
Cons: Room wasn't ready when we arrived (even though we noted online at check-in), then wasn;t ready when they said it would be 3 hours later. Room wasn't cleaned until I called at 4pm after our first of 2 nights. In room dinning was delicious but both times we ordered, part of our order was missing - even when we called to notify, they said they were sending it, and it never arrived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: comfort value clean
9.1 Excellent
Pros: I liked the proximity to everything - an Uber was never more than 4 minutes away! Plus you're in walking distance of a lot of places including the metro. The beds were super comfortable and I liked that most of the rooms had a separate magnifying mirror.
Cons: The floors are hard to navigate and easy to get turned around. With an injury I had to find a room closer to the elevator. When I changed rooms, I still had TO WALK to both my old room and the new. No one had an indoor golf cart or something that would make changing my room location a little easier, physically. The handicap accessible rooms had way less closet space and were less clean since they are not used as often or as regular, the beds need their mattresses turned - one bed was quite 'slope-y' on one side. Not every room has a separate magnifying mirror and the ones that do are not tended to in a way that a rusty spot doesn't form on the counter top underneath it.

7.7 Good
Pros: The facility was nice and the staff was friendly.
Cons: The huge difference between rooms. Our double was way less elegant than the single queen rooms. So we had to choose if we wanted a nicer room or two beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great renovations/updates and well stocked club lounge.
7.7 Good
Pros: Clean room, pleasant, modern decor. EXCELLENT location as the metro was accessible without going outside the building - this was extremely important to us as we were there for the women's march and transportation in and around DC was stretched to its limits. There was no hassle with having to get a shuttle to the metro as has been needed with other hotels I have stayed in, in the area. Staff was polite and professional - no problems checking-in 2 hours earlier than planned. Parking was secure and not excessively expensive. Negatives: No free in-room wifi, television was so-so.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Loved the Metro connection near the hotel!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I loved that the metro was right under the hotel. So convenient. The pool and spa were beautiful. The staff are excellent.
Cons: Spa was a bit too hot at 108 degrees You couldn't bear to get into it and if you did it was only for a few seconds before feeling light headed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was incredibly kind to my son and to us from check-in to departure. Pool is a plus for families with kids. Soooo close to the metro for business or leisure and close to coffee and a drugstore for incidental purchases.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Size of room Late check out upon request Clean Nice amenity products Bathtub Friendly, helpful staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful. The Hotel is connected by underground tunnels to shopping and the metro system. The catering staff were very accommodating to my wife who is a vegan.
Cons: The only bad part was the hotel restaurant was very slow and overpriced.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Guests with lounge access have access to full breakfast buffet
Cons: Needs a new gym and guest rooms in the Capitol Tower need renovations

Pros: Wow, what didn’t I like? Everything was amazing. Our room was perfect, clean and minimal. I felt like a celebrity. Everything was so thoughtful and the design was just gorgeous. I love the restaurant in the lobby and the gym was exactly what I needed. It made me actually want to workout during my vacation. So much better than your average hotel gym. A more air BnB feel with the hotel amenities available. When can I go back?!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, restaurants & bar
Cons: Rooms could have been better cleaned. Not horrible but not up to standard of a boutique hotel. Linens are great.

7.7 Good
Pros: I came down to ride my bike to all the museums and monuments. When I presented my claim ticket for my bike to the bellman my bike had been stolen. I spent 4 hours in the lobby filling out a police report
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location Maids

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Beautiful view of the Washington Monument from our room. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the hotel went out of their way to please us. In particular: Mr. Herb Wright greeted us daily with his million dollar smile and was always ready to be of assistance. Mekdes Pierce, Nathan and Limlin worked so hard each day in the lounge for breakfast and appetizers/dinner. They were so kind no matter how busy they were.
Cons: Absolutely not one thing. It was an outstanding hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Customer service
Cons: The sofa sleepers
6.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: They offered to an upgraded room with a view for more $ Room had no view. AC broke , took 1 full day and multiple sells to get it repaired.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were incredibly well appointed, decorated. Modern, sleek, and comfortable, including the halls that lead to the room. I stayed 9th floor.
Cons: The construction impacted the ease of navigating the main lobby floor. Also, i was not instructed on how to use the elevator system when i checked in, which confused me and delayed my movement toward my room.
6.0 Good
Pros: We likes the decor and the cleanliness of the hotel. The hotel was in a good location for sightseeing.
Cons: Housekeeping forgot to clean our room in the morning so we had to call and ask that they come at night when we were out to dinner. The pillows were also really too soft without much support. And we didn't realize until we got there that the overnight parking fee was $59 per night....kind of a lot when you gross everything up we might have been better off at another hotel location with less expensive parking! Once you are there though you are stuck with it. Ugh. Next time.

Cons: I can't think of anything that we didn't like.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Capitol hill hotel is a great place to stay if you are touring DC. Very close to a metro stop, and only about a 20 minute walk to the mall. Great food on Pennsylvania Ave just minutes away also. Well maintained, the staff were helpful and professional.
Cons: The only inconvenience I had while staying is there was only one ice machine on the ground floor. Other than that, it was great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, one block away from the train station and right down the street from restaurants. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, making sure our every need was taken care of. Great hotel.
Cons: nothing
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located just steps from the Capitol and Library of Congress, and the Capitol South Metro stop. It was a great location, with a good selection of restaurants and cafes within a couple blocks. The hotel provides a great breakfast spread in a building adjacent to the main building, so be aware that you may have to walk a bit to get to breakfast in the morning if you are staying in the main building. Food included: oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage, bread/bagels/muffins, fruit (apples/bananas), coffee, tea, and a selection of juices. While I never took part, the hotel also offers a wine hour from 5-6pm in the main building. They also provide free 24-hour tea/coffee/hot chocolate and a selection of sundries in the main building.
Cons: The bathroom in the Junior Suite was rather small and did not have a window that opened, so it did get a bit stuffy after a hot shower. The television generally worked, but some of the channels would go out every now and then. Wifi required you to log in multiple times a day, which was frustrating.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I first chose the Capitol Hill Hotel for its location. I was one block from not only the metro station, but also the Capitol Legislative Office Buildings. This hotel more than met my expectations. The staff was very friendly and accomidating. My room did not feel like a standard hotel room. It was set up as a small studio apartment which made me feel much more at home. Everything was modern and beautiful. I will definitly be staying here for all of my business trips to Capitol Hill.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, gym, and location
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Bathroom was a little small
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Very Clean. Nice breakfast included.
Cons: Rooms didn't have adequate plugs. Bathrooms cramped and door didn't close, so no privacy if traveling with anyone.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very pleasant and professional. The rooms were clean and spacious.
Cons: The breakfast needs improvement, it was below average.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious rooms, comfortable bed. The shuttle service is great and very accomodating whenever we needed it. Metro station is close by. Front desk staff was very nice. Liked having coffee available in lobby 24 hours.
Cons: No vending machines in the hotel and nowhere close (walking) to buy anything. They have the little market shop in the hotel with exhorbitant prices! Smokers are allowed to smoke right outside the main door....which is also where we had to wait for the shuttle. One time there were 11 people smoking. Ugh! There should be a separate smoking area around the corner.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice large rooms with shower and bath in separate rooms. Good hot breakfast in the morning. Accomodating staff, and free shuttle service to and pickup from the metro stop and mearby restaurants.
Cons: The sliding doors to the shower and toilet areas don't latch and tend to roll open by themselves. Our thermostat did not eork eell and we alternately froze and overheated all night. The fold out couch bed is handy, but so uncomfortable my kids wouldn't sleep in it after one night. They slept in the bed with me instead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The local restaurants were amazing, the staff were super helpful and it was a great location for us!
Cons: Maybe boring breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a nice hotel with great amenities. The hotel is very clean and feels new. The breakfast is pretty standard continental fare but we enjoyed it for all 4 days. The rooms have microwaves and refrigerators which was nice. Parking was free and plentiful. The Eisenhour metro station is a 10-15 minute walk down the street, but there is a shuttle call to take you to and from the station. We rode into the Mall everyday for about $6/person which beat the hassle and cost of parking downtown. There was an AMC next to the metro station with several resteraunts so we would eat there most nights and see a movie. Parking there is free in the evenings. Great location for us, very helpful staff, excellent stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed it all. The staff was wonderful, professional, an informative.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean room. Separate shower with large mirror, sink and counter/storage space along with separate room containing toilet with small sink and mirror is excellent for allowing more than one person to prepare for the day and other obvious reasons as well. Both of those rooms had good fan powered ventillation. Microwave oven in room along with refrigerator that kept items cold. Close access to metrorail and freeway. Located in area that at night is quiet with very little traffic. Some enclosed parking available at ground level under building. Beds were comfortable. In room wireless internet worked excellant. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Shower head needs more water pressure. Desk/lounge area of suite was adequate but would be nice if it were more spacious. No small kitchenette with sink. This is not a biggie for me but would make an extended stay and/or food prep more accommodating. Finally, also not a biggie but would be good idea is to have adjustable volume speaker by bed farthest from television as it would allow less volume to satisfy viewer from that spot. Overall, above average room and experience.

6.2 Good
Pros: The location was good for walking to the mall and museums. The hotel itself felt new, and the rooms were fairly large.
Cons: We had a few issues. First, parking at the hotel is nearly $50 a night after taxes. We had no clue about this upon arrival. Our sink faucet had no water pressure on cold. Our remote to the tv was broken (they did replace). The staff in the lobby was very rude (although the gentleman at checkout was nice). Breakfast was terrible. It’s nice that the food was included in our stay, but it was not very good. I doubt I would stay here again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and friendly service. Location was excellent for visiting Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. Comfortabele rooms.
Cons: Checkin was a bit chaotic and they were not sure about the price we had to pay. Very few restaurants in the direct environment. Glass door to bathroom offered not much privacy, although nice shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location! 1 block from the metro, 3 blocks from the Air and Space museum. Comfy beds, pretty good free breakfast, very friendly staff. I'd stay here again!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I stayed for two nights and I'm very happy with their services. Staff was courteous and all facilities were clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were incredibly friendly, we were given an upgrade to a suite, and it was such a great location! comfortable beds, great shower, nice bathroom, etc.
Cons: Breakfast was comprehensive, but if you arrived after 8:15 it was hit or miss with what was left. Sometimes there was little food (we were there over cherry blossom festival), other times they did continue to replace. It was a good value though.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Room was on the dirty side.......breakfast was good one day of the three mornings, otherwise cold food and the amount of people was crazy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic. Clean updated rooms, great breakfast. We walked to all the museums.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: No clutter room, great bed, nice staff, business center in lounge. Happy hour
Cons: No nearby restaurants, limited menu in the lounge
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with friendly staff.
Cons: The elevator was an inconvenience. At times it said it was going down but would go up. Didn't like that only one elevator went to the roof top. Also, communicating with the vallet attendant was difficult. He didn't seem to understand our questions and we couldn't understand his responses.

Pros: Maxine, at the front desk was superb! She seemed to single-handedly take care of new arrivals, telephone calls and a problem with in a room with grace. She worked late and was her professional self early the next day. She needs a raise and a promotion in my opinion. Marsha Alan

8.0 Excellent
Pros: very comfortable bed and room
Cons: Most of the staff was excellent but one person was not friendly and didn't make effort to upgrade the room since the door of the room they gave me was broken. A second person immediately changed the room for the better.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything. The room was modern, well appointed, with a comfortable bed, and spacious bath. The staff was as pleasant and helpful as any I have encountered in some time. The location is great! I ate in the restaurant once and I enjoyed my meal. I look forward to my next visit.
Cons: The closet space in the room I had was limited and would probably be tight for two people. This is a very small fault in an otherwise very pleasant stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people at the front desk, the concierges, the doormen, and the housekeeps were truly concerned about my comfort and seeing that I had the best possible time in Washington. Your concierges are extremely knowledgeable and took the time necessary to help me find stores and restaurants; making phone calls for me to get things done. My own family doesn't care for me that well!
Cons: Cannot think of anything. Oh, there is one little thing, the front door to my room, number 302, sticks. I meant to inform the front desk, but it was so insignificant compared to everything else, that I forgot.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Location, excellent door men.
Cons: No premium channels. Broken toilet that was "fixed" twice but I had to fix it myself a couple times. No water pressure. House keeping only left us with 1 towel. View of a brick building 6ft from my window. Bar staff were disruptive and joking loudly with doormen while people waited at the bar.
8.5 Excellent
Cons: No drinking water in the lobby. Beds not comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and service was first-rate and the location made walking easy to the various monuments and museums. Also the train station was in easy walking distance.
Cons: I can honestly say that there was nothing bad about this trip...my wife and I had a wonderful time!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Miscommunication in the lounge regarding a wine selection, and subsequently being overcharged.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and the room was clean, comfortable, and dark at night. At check in my wife asked about a refrigerator since she is pumping and the young lady had one sent to the room.
Cons: The refrigerator was broken. We were able to make due with ice from the hall.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We experienced the sweetest women at the front desk, both named Anna. One even kindly gave us a room with a view at no additional charge since it was my boyfriends first time to DC. She recommended some great dinner spots which we loved. Also, the gentleman outside the next morning were so friendly, we chatted with them for a while before our Uber came. Kudos to everyone for welcoming us home after a long trip abroad. Made us feel so happy to be back.
Cons: Hair dryer could use an upgrade but was definitely sufficient to get the job done.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and cleanliness

8.2 Excellent
Pros: It was right in the heart of DC so we could walk everywhere The staff was polite and courteous, not too over the top Nice convenience shop near the lobby area Close to affordable parking not connected to the hotel
Cons: The room was a bit tight for the 4 of us Dining options were limited at the hotel and expensive Parking was double what we would have paid directly across the street in the CityCenter plaza
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close proximty to city center, metro access through lobby.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of foodie options and gourmet coffee within a five minute walk. Close to subway. Acceptably clean.
Cons: Clearly some deferred maintenance in the guest room bathroom.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Metro attached to hotel Liked comfort and flexibility of restaurant and bar. Very accommodating to our family of 15 for dinner.
Cons: As an Ohio State Buckeye fan, there on the annual rival between OSU and Michigan, we wore our OSU gear and decided we liked the hotel bar nooks of chairs around TV. We were so disappointed the bar only plays music and the TV’s are muted. There were other guests also asking to hear the game. First staff said they can’t play the TV volume. Then they said they would try but there was no one in house that knew how to. We certainly would have spent the time at another establishment. I’m glad I wasn’t hearing impaired. No one on site even knew how to put on subtitles to follow the story. Didn’t expect that negative experience.
8.0 Excellent

Pros: I appreciated the free WiFi! Great hotel. Very clean.
7.7 Good
Pros: like the location. staff was good.
Cons: 25 dollars a day to park. I think if you're paying for a stay in the hotel parking should be included.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location. The staff was excellent as well. Will stay here again the next time I am in the area.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Room, breakfast, staff, near Metro, nice and clean.
Cons: Parking 32$ but good If you have parking lot
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location
Cons: Parking
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, just by metro. Room was very comfortable.
Cons: Service at the restaurant was lacking, although the food was ok once it arrived and they got the order right (i.e., no cheese/dairy). Saw evidence of bugs (i.e., dead one) by the kitchen entrance, but none alive. In general, given the hotel pricing for the food I wouldn't eat there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had a great experience. Very courteous and prompt staff. I ended up getting a head cold during my stay and they had cold medicine available for purchase so I didn't have to trek out to the local CVS or Walgreens. Would definitely stay again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I thought the hotel and rooms were fantastic. I was very comfortable throughout my stay. Booking through Kayak got me a great deal, and it was definitely a steal to stay here. The location was perfect - right next to the Rosslyn metro stop. I was within walking distance of the Arlington Cemetary and Iwo Jima monument. There were several restaurants in the area that catered to a variety of tastes, which was really convenient. The hotel even provided a list of nearby restaurants with estimated travel times. I'd recommend a stay here!
Cons: When I entered the hotel to check in, I was greeted by two men welcoming guests into the hotel. There was one man at the desk checking in a woman and her two daughters, and I stood in line behind them waiting to be helped. A few minutes later another man walked in and was greeted by the two men at the door; however, this time one of the men walked behind the desk and said he'd be happy to check the newcomer in. Well, what about me? I was standing in line way before him! I decided to let it go because I am not one for causing scenes. Well, a few minutes later it happened again with another new guest - she was also taken before me. Not sure if it was because I look young, wasn't dressed as nicely as these other guests, or was mistaken for one of the woman's daughters, but I should have been helped before the two people who arrived after me. In general, the people at the desk weren't as friendly with me as other (better dressed) guests. I'm a woman in my early 20s and was traveling alone - probably an indicator that I won't spend as much money as older men in business suits or families with children? Also, no free WiFi is a bummer. Things also didn't look as clean as they could have - dusty TV remote, water rings on tables, etc.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: going home
Cons: everything. prices. amenities.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, good Location
Cons: Expensive
9.7 Excellent
Cons: We stayed in room 626 and it took many minutes to get hot water in the shower. My wife waited the needed 3-5 minutes. I became impatient and just took a cold shower.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The area was a nice part of D.C., it is right next to the metro which is great. Very nice staff. No continental breakfast, but food price wasn't too shabby.
Cons: Wish there was a pool.
