Pros: Clean well-appointed room in a central location. Good breakfast selection and helpful staff.
Pros: Good place, good wifi, good room, pretty cheap, between the bus terminal and the "tourist bus" to go to Bifengxia. I recommend!
Cons: Nice people, but doesn't speak a lot of English.
Pros: Nice business hotel by the river Staff helpfull
Cons: Nothing really
Cons: The room temperature during the night was 25 degrees which was too high for me. I called the Front Desk and was told that Aa'an was at 22 degrees at that time so they could not turn on the AC but fan, based on some city laws (?). I was told not to open the windows too wide because of mosquitos. The weather in Aa'an was hot and humid, quite unbearable.

Pros: Rooms were spacious yet cozy. The beds were much more comfortable and soft than in most places in China. You definitely get value for your money.
Cons: The construction work was messy (like in most chinese hotels, see pictures) and some spots like the floor were already run down quite a bit. On the same note, the rooms weren’t cleaned well, there a lot of spots and long black hair in the sink. Regarding breakfast: It was supposed to be until 10am but when we arrived at 9:30 there was no breakfast to be seen. One of the employees served us some breakfast but no drinks were included, so we asked for an extra coffee (with milk and creamer) on the side. Got a cup of coffee and a whole cup of “milk” (that 早餐奶, which is made with oats, carrot extract etc. and doesn’t taste good in coffee). Staff was nice but unorganised and maybe a bit too young/inexperienced. Even though there are some negative aspects the room size and value you get for your money outweigh the negatives.
Pros: What a little gem in the middle of town. Absolutely loved this place. It has a really feel about it from the open lounge and bar area to the outside BBQ space. It’s been beautifully designed and has a very minimal and modern feel. The staff were very helpful with a special mention to Sam, who went out of his way to make us feel welcome and organise a driver for us.
Cons: It pains me to say this, but there was a heavy smell of cigarette smoke everywhere and a couple of times my wife and my mother had to leave the premises because of it. There are no smoking signs everywhere but it’s not enforced. This was the only time in China we came across such a heavy smoking problem.
Pros: Very relaxed atmosphere, fresh young hotel staff, willing to help us foreigners, manager organized even a tea trip to the mountain, where we picked our own tea and learned the tea producing process, room was beautiful
Pros: Wonderful hotel, near the bus station. Very affordable and comfortable, with a great breakfast. The personal was very helpful, trying to solve our questions.
Pros: All the staff, and especially Sam, were very helpful, fabulous and generous. My daughter didn't want to leave...they were sad... I recommanded this place because you feel like at your own home. A very, very good pleasure.
Pros: This hotel was such a great and lucky find! Arriving, you enter the very spacious lobby which is held in a kind of library style including a very nice conversation pit and immediately receive a Tibetan tea for welcome. The staff in general was very attentative and great with our two kids (9 and 6). We did not try the food, but the drink menu is extensive and the drinks we had were great. The rooms are really spacious, clean and we just loved the simple and natural design. This hotel is located in a suburb of Yan'an, so maybe not quite ideal. However, it was perfect for us as a stopover on the way from Chengdu to Kangding and we were able to find very good and cheap Chinese food in an area just across the river from the hotel. We now learned that this hotel is actually a part of a bigger chain and will be looking out for them on our future trips!
Pros: Great hotel and really helpful staff. A little bit of a way from the centre but it's worth the stay and Sam (English speaking manager) will go out of his way to get you sorted and arrange lifts etc.
Pros: Beautiful hotel and very nice room (stayed in the four bed dorm room), the staff were very helpful. Lovely place, would come back any time!
Cons: It is quite a bit outside the city, staff mainly speak Chinese.
Pros: Friendly atmosphere and relaxed feel. Clean and spacious rooms and very comfy bedding. Sam speaks good English and provides many useful suggestions and helps with local transport options.
Cons: 30-minute taxi ride to get to Ya’an city, although the staff help to get a taxi (50RMB) or car-pool taxi (10RMB per person)
