Best Mayreau Island hotelsShow all
Located in Palm Island, this beachfront property is in a national park and within a 10-minute walk of Windward Islands and Captain Hugh Mulzac Square. Belmont Bay is 0.8 mi (1.3 km) away.
Pros: Everything and Everyone!!!!
Cons: Nothing!!!! Was perfect!!!
Pros: Secluded, good food, interesting activities, relaxing
Cons: The only shop in the resort, did not adhere to it's opening hours. No wifi in the rooms
When you a stay at The Islander's Inn in Union Island, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Windward Islands and Belmont Bay.
Pros: Location is remote but that is part of the hotels attraction. The owners could not have been more helpful. The view from our room was exceptional.
Pros: Clyde’s willingness to be most accommodating to our room requests and the quality of his cooking. We ate at Islanders once on each of our two visits. Organisation of transport to ferry terminals.
Cons: A bit too remote for us, either over a steep hill or a longer gentler route from the main settlement of Clifton.
Pros: Great location across a beautiful solitary beach. Hosts were great and food was amazing
Cons: It's a 10-15 min walk to town, not exactly a problem but maybe for some people
Pros: Owners were very friendly. Room was clean.
Pros: Stunning location on the quiet side of the Island. Lovely hosts - Clyde and Sandra. Room had a stunning view of the ocean. Clyde's cooking in the evenings was very tasty.
Cons: No air-conditioning - only 1 fan worked and the mosquito net was quite restrictive. (Small points!)
Pros: I like the view the beach is literally 12 seconds away and it's so calming, the rooms were beautiful and very spacious. The owners where great they do everything to make you stay a great experience. Anything you need if they don't have it they will make arrangements for you .
Cons: The location was great only thing is getting there you have to climb a few hills so taking a taxi is about a 7 min drive, so for my family that was the best route to take. If your a couple who likes to walk its just perfect for you.
Pros: Clyde and Sandra were lovely hosts. The breeze and sea view were amazing. Very relaxing stay!
Pros: Nothing. Location in one of the worst place of the Island. Room unconfortable! The road terrible. If you don't have a rental car you are out of the world
Cons: Terribile mistake!! Picture no really!!!
Pros: The hosts are very nice and friendly. They are very responsive to requests and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The Inn is located in a very quiet area with direct access to the ocean. I highly recommend this place for its comfort, location, value for money and host friendliness. I should also add that the owner is a great cook!.
Pros: Clyde was awesome! He was very helpful, getting us cabs and giving advise on where to go for dinner etc. Rooms were comfortable and very quiet. Beach across the street is small but very private, you never have to share.
Cons: Only a couple of rooms had AC. Lighting was very low so hard to read at night in the room.
When you stay at Salt Whistle Bay Resort in Mayreau Island, you'll be on the beach and steps from Windward Islands. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a water dispenser.
Pros: Professionnal and forthcoming team. Dreamlike location. Natural park cabin-like. Difficult to reach.
Cons: Cheap music in the central area. No wifi in rooms
Pros: The most helpfull staff i met, magnificient views, combination of nature and good taste
Pros: Salt Whistle Bay is a pertfect location to spend your holiday there. Beach furniture is provided for the guests, there is a restaurant very close to the beach with excellent food, drinks and very friendly staff. Manager Nikita is very competent person helping with everything you would need. Great atmosphere. Bungalows are spacious and clean. Wifi available at the bar.
Pros: If you get this far off the beaten tourist track then you will already love the place. Sit down, relax and watch the boats and wildlife come and go. Water taxis get you on and off the island (150 ECD each way) and that's fun. The staff are great. They quickly become like family. They give you their time willingly. Chat a while. The short steep hill to the nameless town is well worth it for local caught fish restaurants. My active life stopped for 5 days and I loved it.
Cons: We were bitten at night by flies/bugs. Hotel facilities can be stretched by visiting yachtsmen. But don't let that deter you visiting.
Pros: The room is spacious. The dinners are quite nice, in an American sort of way. The lady who deals with guest relations is friendly and helpful. The beach area is busy with lots of people coming off boats, but it's good that the hotel reserves some of the loungers for the use of their own guests.
Cons: The bungalows have a major flaw in their construction, which is that the doors and windows have large gaps around them. When we arrived we saw that previous gusts had tried plugging the gaps with toilet roll. The gaps mean that lots of mozzies can get into the room, which is less than ideal. We were told that a bug zapper racket should have been available for our room, but that they couldn't find it. We had actually brought our own plug-in mosquito repellent, but couldn't use it as - annoyingly - the room plugs were all US even though the standard plug socket across this part of the Caribbean is UK. We have plenty of UK-US adapters but didn't bring any as we weren't expecting to need them! Moreover the hotel had run out of plug adapters so could only give us a single phone adapter. Finally, beware that if you book the "continental breakfast" package you might need to argue for a decent breakfast. Initially we were given two pieces of toast with butter! Only after I complained was I brought fruit and some mini muffins.
Pros: The place is nice and it's a beautiful beach.
Cons: At times there are so many boats and yachts that it's hard to enjoy the view or the surroundings. People from the boats also come ashore to have food and drinks and it can get busy and loud.
Pros: The beach is one of the best in the Caribbean, absolutely stunning. Soft sand, calm turquoise water, just like in the pictures. There is a restaurant and bar serving food and drinks all day. There are also other beach bars along the beach and a small shop selling basic groceries. If you like walking, the rest of the island is worth exploring. There is only one road which takes you all the way up to the only village on the island with a couple of shops and a few restaurants. We had breakfast and dinner at the Combination Cafe which was great and it has a stunning view. The cottage is spacious with a big, very comfortable bed. There are no windows as such but instead wooden adjustable slats which allow for a wonderful breeze flowing throughout the room making it cool and comfortable. All windows have mosquito screens which is an added bonus. There is a decent size fridge/freezer in the room with a kettle. The bathroom is spacious with a large sink and a walking shower with little windows so you can look out whilst having a shower. The toilet has no door but it’s positioned in a way to allow enough privacy. There is a terrace upstairs shared between two rooms where we had our early evening gin and tonics. Staff are generally very pleasant and helpful. Special thanks go out to Nikita and Corrine for looking after us so well. We would love to return one day. Thank you.
Cons: This property has so much potential for becoming THE place to stay in the Grenadines. However, there are a few areas to be improved first. Firstly, the beach requires more sun beds and soft seating around the bar and restaurant. The restaurant chairs need cushions. The same applies for the rooms and terrace - comfortable chairs would make a huge difference. There were issues with hot water so we mainly had cold showers. The food is great but the menu is too small if you are staying for more than a few days. There were no desserts or ice cream on the menu. Unfortunately, we did not rate the general manager, Miss Jones. Throughout and at the end of our stay, she never once asked us how we enjoyed our stay and she and another member of staff jumped in our own water taxi which took us to another destination, without asking, and she did not contribute towards the cost so we ended up paying the full price. All in all, a few minor improvements and this place is the one to look out for.
Pros: The layout and location of this unusual hotel were outstanding! The staff were all helpful, especially Niki. Lovely beach with loungers for Hotel guests. Food in restaurant was very good. Other options at beach cafe's and a small shop selling some essentials
Cons: Terrace in our room was being repaired so nowhere to sit and relax in the room (1 x chair).
Pros: Windy (february-march) Kitespot Room Staff Food
With a stay at Tenuta Chatham Bay Resort in Union Island, you'll be just steps from Windward Islands and Chatham Bay Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very quiet, our room, very nice and friendly staff, food
Cons: No pressure in the shower but it’s ok, I had to put something
Cons: There was not anything i didnt like
Pros: Staff could not have been more helpful. Super service in a quiet resort.
Cons: It is difficult to access as it is away from it all. That means reliance on organisation of transport which was not always good.
Pros: Nothing, really! Turned out to be a holiday made in hell!
Cons: No service, no welcome, dreadful taxi and water taxi on arrival no one to greet us, no beach towels as all sent for a wash, poor / very limited breakfast. Eggs or porridge for 2 weeks. 1 piece of toast (halved) per guest for breakfast. Yet, it takes half an hour to serve and the family of 3 cannot eat at the same time as the food brought in stages. Rooms not cleaned unless specifically requested, water in the pool very milky, not possible to amend or cancel booking as all options non-refundable, not feeling like guest here, more like a pain. Rooms very noisy at night due to wind, felt like roof was going to be blown away, the small pier unstable and in need of repairs, as well as the stepping stones. Door on the cottage not possible to close. Would not recommend this place to anyone, even the most laid-back travellers. Would not even offer this place through booking.com.
Pros: Very comfortable, beautiful setting. Best sun sets I’ve witnessed. Good selection of drinks. Staff very friendly.
Pros: Couldn’t have asked for more. Very helpful. Beautiful location.
Pros: Secluded and private with fantastic sea views. Friendly staff and a decent enough range on the menu with great cocktails.
Cons: Unfortunately we went in the off peak season so we were the only guests which made our stay very quiet.
Pros: The most amazing setting Arriving by water taxi The staff can not do enough for you. So friendly. Fantastic bungalows with beautiful sea views
Pros: The bay and the independent beach bars/restaurants at other end of the bay. The three cottages are spacious, there are very comfortable Super King beds and generous shower rooms with a separate dressing area with plenty of storage and a safe.
Cons: There are, indeed, the advertised coffee machine and kettle in situ but they are absolutely useless as there was no provision of coffee pods or tea bags. After complaining about this they did put a couple of sachets of instant coffee and a couple of tea bags in the room but the they were never refreshed during the morning clean unless you requested more. (Beach towels were available but again you had to ask for them. The "infinity pool" was opaque and green and I hate to think what bugs were in it - a member of staff stated that they were waiting for some equipment to drain, clean and refill it. The restaurant was attractive and open - breakfast was good but dinner was totally lacking in atmosphere. The staff seemed very unhappy and lacked training. Lecia, the on site manager, appeared to listen to our concerns but she really didn't do much to address them. A friend we were holidaying with emailed the absentee owners with a list of 14 points - some extremely important and others less so. The response showed only lip service to these concerns. Now to the transfer: we were met by taxi and taken to a nearby marina where we were shown to a small open vessel. The weather was particularly windy and seas were rough (not something we are perturbed by as we are experienced sailors) however, it was simply too small for 4 guests, 4 suitcases and 3 pieces of aircraft cabin size luggage. They managed to squeeze this in and off we went. There was a single outboard and it was not running correctly (as I say we know about boats and engines) - the driver of the boat kept looking back at the engine and at one point. Pros: An idyllic location right on the beach, with a unique blend of Mediterranean style and Caribbean character with lovely food and very friendly staff. Only small, with just three rooms but that guarantees personal service. We loved or stay and look forward to returning in the future.
Cons: There was a mix up over the arrangements for our transfer from the ferry to the hotel but all ended well and we arrived safely. Our departure and transfer to the airport went perfectly. Access to the hotel is either by small boat which is OK in day light but not ideal after dark. The access by road is only possible with an off road 4x4 and even then is difficult and the track is in real need of some essential maintenance.
When you a stay at Kings Landing Hotel in Union Island, you'll be on the beach, just steps from Windward Islands and Captain Hugh Mulzac Square. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and warm. The view from the balcony was beautiful. The aircon worked well. The whole atmosphere was welcoming and cosy. It's a short walk to restaurants, shops and to the dock.
Cons: The unit did not seem to be suitable for selfcatering, if someone would ne interested in that. We had no need.
Pros: Great location, very comfortable.
Pros: Great people working at King's Landing! Very close to the city centre and the port. Big room, nice view. Great breakfast as well !
Pros: Staff helpful in picking me up at the airport, that is quite close anyhow, and drop me back there. Wide room, wifi, reasonable comfort. Excellent position near town centre and jettys. Nice pool available
Cons: A safe in the room would be appreciated, however a safe was available in a nearby store free of charge. No external room available for dressing/washing after check out. Credit card POS not working, so bring enough cash
Pros: Union Island is a beautiful location, and Clifton is a lovely island town. The hotel is nice and cosy. The view on the bay, and the pool, are both lovely. The breakfast was good too. For this price, it's very good!
Cons: A bit worn out. It was perfect for us, but if you are looking for a luxury place, that is not it. We had a good time!
Pros: The pool
Cons: Breakfast menus and wifi were terrible.
Pros: pool. nice room with sea view
Cons: hotel a bit worn out
Pros: The service was very good. Ladies working there were very helpful and brought us everything we requested. Good location in the centre of Clifton.
Cons: The price was in my opinion to high for this room quality. We stayed before on St. Vincent in Villa area and we payed much less for much better room quality. Not a huge issue for us but there was no tv in the room despite it was in the description on booking.com.
Pros: Budget hotel but clean and comfortable with a great view. Comfortable beds and great water pressure and temperature in the shower!
Pros: Air conditioner, mosquito net, room size
Cons: Toilet was not clean, the grounds was poop cover by various animals, amount and smell of seaweed
With a stay at Saint Joseph's House in Union Island, you'll be steps from Windward Islands and a 3-minute drive from Chatham Bay Beach. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Only the view .Staff was very nice
Cons: There was no kitchen. The place was leaking when rain come . The front door can't lock for your safety.
Pros: Views, calm, breezy cottage
Cons: Staff not on venue
Pros: room was comfy & quiet, nice views
Cons: parking was a bit awkward
Pros: Thank you very much! Such a nice staff, so helpful, great view from the terrace, kitchen is perfect, you can also see turtles in the garden
Pros: The staff was friendly and the owners worked with me once I decided I needed to move.
Cons: The room was much smaller than it appeared in the photos. The bathroom was tiny - only one person could fit. The beds were squeaky. The shower door was broken. The windows were low as to not be able to enjoy the view when standing. It was far from town and there were a lot of unexpected hills and stairs to climb to get there.
Pros: The View.
Cons: The property was completely boarded up...it was like sleeping in a cave. The only thing that saved us was the AC.....room does not open to the Balcony. The view was great that's about it
Pros: Very nice view from the room. Location is good. Helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing big problems. Maybe a table and a chair to room would be good.
Pros: Rustic charm, friendliness of staff. Town and beach within walking distance (30 - 45 minutes). Lots of fresh breeze.
Cons: There was no television or radio on the floor where we we situated. Also no kitchen facilities on the third floor. Bed was too low and not of standard queen size. In general property needs some upgrades to enhance the rustic charm. The advertised shuttle from the airport was not available.
Pros: The bungalow was nice and big. Personnel seemed friendly.
Cons: Quite a long way from the Clifton centrum. The personnel wasn’t around during the morning or evening (couldn’t do a proper checkout or the laundry as planned)
