Holiday House Palm Springs - Palm Springs - Bedroom
9.5 Excellent (194 reviews)
Overview Reviews
California is a great place to visit and to see mountain and ocean views. This state has it all and travelers will want to spend time in Palm Springs when they are here. When they are looking for lodging, they can turn to the Holiday House Palm Springs. This 28-room hotel was first opened in 1951 and was designed by architect Herbert W. Burns. It was remodeled recently and with the help of interior designer Mark D. Sikes, it is now modern and features artwork that will astonish guests. It includes a pool, hot tub, and concierge. The rooms here are in size order from good, better, best, and big. None of the rooms here have televisions because the hotel wants its guests to enjoy their stay here and tear themselves away from the tube. The rooms include air conditioning and climate controls, mini bar, mini fridge, and all rooms are non-smoking. The big rooms include a full size kitchen. There is dining on-site for guests of the Holiday House Palm Springs at the Pantry. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nearby, guests can find a lot to see and do. They can check out Ruddy’s General Store Museum, Palm Springs Historical Society, Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, Sonny Bono Statue, Village Green Heritage Center, and Village Fest. There are many local art galleries in the area for them to see as well. Booking a room here is simple and guests will love the color and simplicity that the Holiday House Palm Springs brings to their lives.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Holiday House was pleasant, from the extremely friendly staff to the gorgeous grounds and ideal downtown location. We could walk to all the food we could dream of, and other things like a theater, casino, bars, massage, etc. Laying by the pool was heaven. Good music, water misters, poolside drinks, and complimentary ice water and sunscreen all day (self-applied of course.)

Pros: This place is truly a hidden gem. It's right smack in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, so you can walk everywhere. They provide really nice bicycles also if you rather use them to explore. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The pool area is a favorite of mine. You are able to order food and drinks from the pool as well. Complimentary happy hour from 4 to 5 everyday with beautiful cheese board. Complimentary continental breakfast. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and all the other guests while I stayed were very nice as well. This place really did have great vibes and an incredible atmosphere. My Wife and I had such a great relaxing time here. We will be staying here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, no phone calls poolside and no kids.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great decor, simple yet quiet common areas. Loved the complimentary orange/lemon water everywhere and very comfy poolside chaise lounges.
Cons: The lights outside our room are controlled by the hotel and are very bright. Woke me up at 2 am! These should be controlled by each hotel guest.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location and Karen at the desk was outstanding! The continental breakfast was very nice
Cons: Nothing

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice property, clean
Cons: The in-room dining and restaurant food was not good and I don't recommend. Also, the coffee machine in the room didn't work. The bathroom design not well thought out ... there was only one hook to hang towels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the resort itself and the staff
Cons: Didn't like the bed, too aoft
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstandingly gracious. The spa was wonderfull,n and the staff excellent.
Cons: Ww would rate the food as mediocre. In particular, our $500 bill for 4 at The Edge Steakhouse was out of line for the quality of the dinner. The service matched. Upon returning to our room at 3 PM it has not been made up. Disappointing.
7.4 Good
Pros: Great location, layout is fantastic, adult pool is a great option, rooms were nice.
Cons: Definitely needs a boutique coffee shop for sure! Rooms were nice but glass shelf above Tv was completely dusty, patios should be swept daily as so much dirt and leaves build up and get tracked through room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the individuals who work there we're fantastic! From the valet to front desk to the steakhouse restaurant! I was able to get a really good deal on one of the websites, otherwise I would not have been able to stay at the Ritz! My friends and I were treated like royality...a huge shout out especially to Steven!!!! He is at the steakhouse restaurant and was PERFECT!!!! Thank you.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Your bell man Jim. Give that guy a raise. Probably the best service I have received ever.
Cons: This is a little picky. Your adult pool felt like a hot tub. Whatever your cooling system is doing, its not working very well. One last detail about the pool. Its the perfect situation for an infinity pool or at the very least some clean glass with hidden borders. It seems such a waste of the view to not do something about that dirty glass that you cant really see out of once you are in the pool.

Pros: Beautiful unit, very comfortable with a little kid Pool is fun. I like the toddler and big pool combo, with a slide for parent+kid. Will probably come back.
Cons: I don’t like the paid parking. It’s ridiculous unless you would be guaranteed a spot in front of your unit. I also don’t like the timeshare presentation pressure. The last thing I need on vacation is a PowerPoint presentation.

Pros: Pool and evening special were very nice
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Everything you. Kyle ask for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, staff very friendly, great location! Love that the pool is good sized with plenty of umbrellas, and tables. Breakfast is good and substantial. Love the happy hour in the evening. Gym was clean and easy to use. Loved the library, very cozy!
Cons: Breakfast was good, but chaffing dishes do not keep food hot. Would be very helpful to have a microwave available to heat up items .
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: we usually like staying at embassy suites (ES), the complimentary breakfast and social hour are wonderful and cost effective. Most of the embassy suites stays we have experienced handled this well. This one did not.
Cons: The overall feel of the hotel, especially mid-construction, was shabby and dirty. The staff were unavailable at most times, and the breakfast and social hour were more akin to homeless shelter giveaways rather than the quality fare that we have had at other ES. Breakfast was a microwave hot mess. There was a rush of people early and the staff (there was only 1 staff member manning both the cocktail hour and breakfast) couldn't keep up. The construction was noisy and inconvenient, and we should have been notified of construction Before checking in. This was a horrible stay and we will not booking embassy suite stays again. It may be clean and new after the construction, but this experience will move us away from booking them again.

7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel has amazing grounds and public areas. The atrium lobby and gondola service are special, and the overall grounds are the best in the Palm Springs area.
Cons: The rooms are not clean. There's no other way to say it. I found much evidence of previous guests in the room, from trash on the floor around the beds to dirty showers. The staff is also pretty unpleasant and not helpful.

6.5 Good
Pros: The locations, the property, the rooms are stunning!
Cons: We checked in at 4:30 and our room was not ready until 5pm. Check in was at 4. We were staying for one night and they could not accommodate a late check out. For the price we were paying this was very frustrating and the hotel concierge didn't offer and apology, a credit, nothing! Our room was beautiful but all day and all night carts filled with dirty bed linens and catering equiptemnts were pushed by on carts that rattled so loudly that it woke us up and we were unable to go back to sleep. Not to mention we wanted to enjoy our outside patio and take in the scenery and had to like a dirty hotel equipment every 5 minutes. Again for the price we are paying to enjoy the property it would be nice if they could find a different route.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Staff was gracious and helpful. There was sincerity in their attentiveness
Cons: The bungalows are old so you can hear the televisions and water going through pipes in neighboring rooms. Pretty minor though and would still recommend a stay here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were so beautiful. So many nice pools. The restaurants were delicious especially the buffet breakfast at Twenty6. My boyfriend and I will definitely be back.
5.1 Okay
Pros: The Mexican restaurant Adobe was really good and they are super dog friendly which was nice!
Cons: We switched rooms because our first room smelled like cigars and weed, our second room wasn't much better either. The bathrooms are highly outdated and they don't offer robes or slippers in the rooms which I found odd.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Loved the cozy rooms!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was right next to a private pool that made it exceptionally amazing since it was over 100 degrees!! Plenty of pool towels and nobody bothers you. Oh and the best part was the ice makers in the rooms!!! With the heat they’re perfect!!
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, facility and experience.
Cons: We made reservations for two rooms. One through the La Quinta website and the other through Kayak. They had no record of the Kayak reservation. They still got us in after some delay. First time that has ever happened. Wifi not good at all.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the movie theater. It was small with regular chairs and bean bags. We sat on the bean bags.
Cons: Pool bartenders weren’t as nice as other staff. Need more pool waiters or have them come around more often.
2.8 Mediocre
Pros: This trip revolves around my kids and to have a gateway for them with their friends. There were plenty of children’s activities.
Cons: The hotel is run poorly. The manager did not do a good job running and managing the resort. He had zero hospitality skills and a shame. Ruined our stay.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are great, comfortable, and clean. Setting is fantastic against the hills
Cons: Smoking! Had balcony open at night, people below were smoking on their baloney at 5 am. Woken up from deep sleep by smoky room, and was in queen bed furthest from opening. Later informed front desk so not to get hit with cleaning fee, was told it's ok, No fee unless actually caught in the act. Clerk was unconcerned about the incident. Is smoking allowed on balconies? Oh no, smoking isn't allowed anywhere. Well, it ruined the night. She didn't get it...
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Close to golf.
Cons: Loud music at the pool.
6.5 Good
Pros: Great service
Cons: Room was not cleaned when we checked in had to call and ask for it to be cleaned again

The Indian Wells Resort and Spa is set nicely inside a lush stretch of greenery, ranging from expertly maincured grass to trees and shrubs pumping fresh oxygen into the air and lungs of refreshed guests. The hotel is appropriately angled to allow many of the rooms a view of the grounds, which have been well taken care of for the pleasure of those staying there. Also outside are convenient BBQs that guests have the freedom of using to grill up an afternoon or evening treat. There is also the provision butler service for the villas, so there’s no need to get up to get anything. However, if the decision is to get up and move, there are hot tubs available for a warm, easy soak. And to dry off, fire pits welcome guests to an evening of relaxation. Inside, the rooms are both comfortable and feature chic design elements that inspire creativity and an escape from the mundane thoughts of the day. The rooms are set up as their own entertainment centers with large flat screen HD TVs and iHome stereos that allow guests to dock their iPods to introduce the tunes they want into the atmosphere of the already stylish rooms. In the luxury suites, guests are able to venture out onto a private balcony and take in 180-degree views of the resort grounds, as well as the adjacent golf course. At the end of the day, Lantana offers a unique, fresh, open kitchen dining experience to cap things off.
5.1 Okay
Pros: Second floor rooms was nice and modern In room bathroom area was clean, modern, and comfortable Split level room open concept
Cons: Bar - Shuts down at 12am - No nightlife Staff did not offer help with luggage; even though I was visibly struggling I had to ask for help. Premium Villas felt dated and old Not enough signs helping with directions "Mountain Side facing" view is really deceiving, what they should write is Parking Lot/Lobby/Street Facing, any view of the mountains were obscured by either palm trees or the building itself. No complimentary "spa" goods or testers to use in the soaker tub (bath salt, etc)
5.7 Okay
Pros: Access . Valet.
Cons: Front desk check in !!! Tooo slow. Lacks clarity. !!! Room. Smaller than I expected for 800 a night. No mini bar no real sence of luxury. Blinds fell off needed menatainance !!!!!! This was not the expected result for me. I stay in expensive rooms all the time. This one was not that great I couldn't sleep. Penthouse room 5221 .. I was there match 5th.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The people are so friendly and accommodating! From Jonathan who checked us in to Danny at Valet and Michael the butler. They made my friend's Birthday so very memorable and had champagne for us the first night and left cupcakes when we got back the second night.
Cons: The rooms could have been cleaned better. There was a roach in the room the whole weekend, even after they came to clean that first morning. Otherwise the service was exceptional, I will tell everyone about it.
8.6 Excellent
Pros: room size
Cons: waterslide happened to be closed during our trip (the hotel did bring in a temporary bounce house with water though)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Excellent attitudes.
Cons: 107 in the shade.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room. Clean.
Cons: Refrigerator in room kept turning on throughout the night and rattled so it was hard to sleep.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I are 24 and 27 and we've stayed here multiple times. We love the fact that there is a seperate adult only pool and overall the hotel is very quiet. The rooms are spacious with large bathrooms and the decor is newer and clean.
Cons: The two things we did not like are the parking and prices of food at the pool. You HAVE to pay for parking whether self of valet... And the food at the pool was pretty outrageous... Very convenient and delicious, but outrageous.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great amenities and hotel restaurants.
Cons: Parking listed for free, ended up $30. Okay though considering the value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The several pools
8.5 Excellent
Pros: I like the different options for dining and activities. The room service was guaranteed in 30 mins which was great. The staff were all friendly and everything was open til the late hour.
Cons: Our room was not ready and we had to wait around. The pool area needs more cleaning especially after a big rush.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is great during an off season or during the middle of the week but it gets packed like any other place on the weekend or holidays.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The employees were some of the nicest I've experienced anywhere. From the valet, front desk, and wait staff at the pools and restaurants. We got upgraded without asking. I'll definitely be back.
Cons: I get that hotels have resort fees now, but at least tell me what it's for. The only thing I could figure out was that it included a couple bottles of Dasani. And $27 for overnight valet parking? Yikes. It's Indian Wells, not NYC.
