Pros: Nice view and could see sunrise in the morning. The host were very friendly and helpful.
Pros: The owner is very friendly, always go out of the way to assist our needs and treated is like his friends. You can see the sunrise from the balcony and of lucky sea clouds too. The room while basic has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Cons: The place is a bit out of the way, about 20mins drive from Feng Qi Hu, and 1hr drive from Alishan visitor centre.
Pros: Everything was nice place , room, staff amd it was beautiful should go again soon
Cons: All was nice
Pros: Clean, Good Size Room and Friendly Hosts. Good lighting and not too cold as compared to staying at Alishan Home grown vegetables and home cooked Chinese food. Peaceful environment with good guide.
Cons: Recommendations: -To make up bed on daily basis. -WiFi is weak -To provide menu for dinner. -To revise charges for breakfast and dinner meals.
Pros: Everything is about the owners of this place. Although not English speakers, they were so touchy and expressive, I cannot find the words to describe their kindness. The location has a scenic view, the place is clean and pleasant. Thank you for everythinf
Pros: We came to this facility with a group of 10 persons. Hosts are very friendly and hospitable. The dinners that they prepared for us are delicious with very fresh organic material from their garden. Rooms are clean and tidy. We are able to view the magnificent mountain view and sunrise from the facility. At night, you can view the stars and the milky way just outside of your room's door step.
Pros: The hosts were amazing! Uncle Lin loves Singapore and he is so excited to have us Singaporeans overs They go all the way out to make your stay enjoyable and fun. He also brought us around to visit the Laiji village which was the home of the indigenous people and his wife also cooked some meals for us. The view was really good as well. They have an elevated observation deck which gives a perfect direct view of the sun rising above the mountains. Very very beautiful and would highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing much.
Pros: It's operated by a family of 3 and they were amazing. We paid a little (just a little) bit extra and they prepared a BBQ for us for one night, it was really nice. Our quadruple rooms were really big. Do bring your own towel though, because they only have disposable ones and they are not very nice to use. Breathtaking views from outside your room if it's on the 2nd floor. And there were fireflies everywhere at night (April)! Did I mention the owner is a retired remedial masseur, pretty handy after long drives!

Pros: Owners are so wonderful people. They arranged dinner and breakfast at their home with their whole family. This is my first experience to have an opportunity to eat with locals at their home. Their two daughters are so cute and adorable. The lodge location is awesome right on the top of mountain surrounded with tea farms in all directions and view from there is fantastic. Very peaceful location as no houses near by and you just sulk in the silence of nature. Blissful experience. Thank you Taishin and family.
Pros: Great comfortable bed with hot shower. The bamboo tracks around the place is delightful. Breakfast is amazing and the owners are lovely. Highly recommend
Pros: The views not far from the house are breathtaking, its really worth the hazzle of getting. Furtermore its soo quite, I could relax really well there.

Pros: The scenery there is to die for. Being able to stay in a treehouse. And superb host - very accomodating, brings us around whenever requested. If possible, opt for their home cooked dishes too!:)
Cons: The only down side is the travelling and frequency of bus. Because theres only two busses per day. Do plan your time well
Pros: The homestay owner is really a multitasking man, he cook nice food , drive us around and attend to our last minute request .
Pros: I really liked the atmosphere as well as the lodging. Small elevated wood cabins makes for a unique and rustic feeling. The owner seemed friendly enough and quite willing to help with anything you need.
Cons: There's nowhere to eat aside from the dining hall. All the food was a bit lackluster. They served lunchboxes for lunch one day, pretty terrible. Much of the premises are unkempt and in disrepare, making it just on the fine line between rustic getaway and backwoods shanty town.
Pros: This was the best experience I’ve had in Taiwan. The location and view is unbelievable and the treehouse style rooms exceptional. The hosts look after you so well and offer you options to see tea plantations, fireflies, temples and show you where to walk to the waterfalls or catch the bus. The English is through google translate and works very well. I can’t revommend this place enough - and look forward to returning.
Pros: Amazing view, amazing People, amazing food
Pros: Don't expect something too luxurious, because that is not what this is. This B&B is a great escape in the Taiwanese countryside far away from the crowds that come with tourbusses to Alishan Mountain. For us it was definitely the highlight of our 10 day trip trough Taiwan. We stayed in a room that was like a treehouse. The bedroom is basic, but very cozy. There is a toilet and a hot shower in the room. Be prepared to wake up with the sunrise. The surroundings are stunning and the guesthouse is close to a nice hikingtrail that will lead you along some nice waterfalls. The village itself is very well maintained and there are some beautiful houses. The people in the village are very welcoming (to western visitors). The place is family owned and these people are very sweet. They don't speak any English, but with the translation App a world will open up for you. They will take you for a tour trough the village and they will take you for nightwalk to see the thousants firefly's they have in the village. Dinner and breakfast are not from the menu, but they are very tasty.
Cons: There are a couple of roosters that do their best to get you an early start of the day
Pros: We were far away from the property and havd no vehicle to come there due to our timing misunderstanding. The host although did't speak English, he tried to arrange the vehicle to pick us up and prepared for us the super great dinner for free. We really had a wonderful time here with the warm welcome and interesting experiences like the fireflies sightseeing, sunrise and tea hill sightseeing and especially Zhukeng river trail. Maybe tourists usually like Fenqihu or Alishan but I highly recommend they try to find the beautiful and peaceful at Meishan, and stay with Laihome. The room were extremely beautiful with very nice view balcony and all the cleanliness, tidy and full funishing you need. We enjoy hot tea, coffee, cakes and every meals they made for us. After we leaved, the host sent some beautiful photos of us that we were so surprised. Thanks so much for the help, the frienliness and warmth of the host and also the local people here. I love Taiwan!
Pros: Different and unusual. Not really comforts of other hotels but was fun and adventurous. Owner cooked a meal (had to pay) but it brought all the guest together and that was good. Took us for a night stroll. Children will enjoy the atmosphere
Cons: Unless you speak Chinese you may have to resort to sign language. Have to be careful when driving there. Must have GPS
Cons: Not cleam
Pros: This treehouse is fantastic. it's a very romantic place to stay for couples. Even though it does take some time to navigate, it worths it! Momo will take you to the trail where has a lot of astonishing spings and bridges. We also enjoyed every meal they prepared for us!

The atmosphere/air very good. we paid for dinner around 250 NTD/person super good and have many dishes. and the owner take our tour to his/her Tea plantation and Tea farm/factory . that my first time to made a Tea . very good experience
Cons: the location hard to found
Pros: Stunning view
Cons: The mattress is very hard
Pros: Super peaceful and quite, owner made some nice tea for us and offered us an outdoor space to make more tea if we want to. We got lucky with the weather so we had a really breathtaking view of the mountains.
Cons: Nothing could be better with that price, but if only the place was less dusty then it’s amazing
Pros: Small but cozy place to stay, fresh air, wonderful view, the owner treated us with good tea, they also have an open tea house for us to have hot tea and spend quality time with our family. I was woken up by the rooster and birds in early morning, good Taiwanese style homemade breakfast. Price is pretty fair.
Cons: The road to the homestay is narrow, dark, and steep.
Pros: Great view The owner was so nice. Good breakfast
Pros: Nice remote location. Bit primitive but reasonably comfortable. The view around is nice.
Cons: Went there by scooter. Bit of a pain to get to. 15 minutes from fencihu by scooter. Longer if raining or foggy. Not a lot nearby.
Pros: The owner is so sweet that he picked my friend and I up when we were lost. He also took us to a nearby bus stop the next morning so that we could take a bus to Mt. Ali. The room was clean and comfortable. I can see the sunrise in it. And the breakfast was simple but delicious❤ Anyway, this property is worth staying
Cons: It's hard to find a store near the property.
Pros: The owners picked us up from a shop nearby. Invited us to a nice tea ceremony. Conversation took place partly in English partly with google translator. Lovely views, nice walks possible. Original Taiwanese breakfast was very good
Cons: The owners should write English name on some road signs please as it is quite hard to find the location

Pros: The owner is very friendly and spent whole morning chit chatting with us.
Cons: Overall it was a satisfying stay
Pros: The owner is very friendly and always take care of our needs.
Pros: It is a nice little hotel close to Alishan (40min) by car. The host is very friendly and speaks enough English to have a basic conversation. If the weather is good, you can have breakfast on the terrace which has a great view!
Pros: Despite the distance from Fenchihu Station to the honored property, the owner was very very responsive and kind to us by offering us advices/transportation to their property. Since we intend to venture to Alishan on the same day we arrived at Fenchihu, the owner assist us to carry our luggages to the hotel and we proceeded on our journey to Alishan. And owner also provided us transportation back to Fenchihu Station upon checking out next day. The fresh air on said property is really healthy and may lengthen your life span in such an environment
Cons: It is only the distance from Fenchihu Station to property, but that did not pose an hindrance at all.
Pros: Helpful owner and room is tidy and clean
Pros: Wonderful location, view from the parking.
Cons: Cold in the room.
Pros: Hospitality from owner to have breakfast and taste of their planted teas. Location wise considered not bad.
Cons: No WiFi despite it’s mentioned provided and very less switch provided for us to charge the electronic devices.

Cons: No one to comunicate with in English, the room wasn't clean and the same goes with towels and bedsheets with stains, gaz tank was dangerously blocking the door to the patio, wifi wasn't working most of the time, parking was far away, breakfast wasn't served at time (and there was no one around to ask about that - they cought us as we were already checking out), and they reported a "no show" on us even though we were there and fully paid and never apologized!
Pros: The location is great if you hv big luggages to lug. As it’s right at the doorstep of the train station. The owner Ms Lin is very hospitable..
Cons: Could do with bigger towel for showering.
Pros: Loved the sumptuous and delicious breakfast, see picture. The room was spacious and clean with a Japanese style sliding door. We had a complimentary black sugar konnyaku jelly snack from the owner, who also sells that in their shop next door. Location is just one flight of stairs from the train station, about 5 mins walk. If you are coming by bus, it is a longer walk down flights of stairs or steep slopes. Accommodation is located right in the middle of the Fenchihu old street so rather convenient for shopping. There are trekking trails nearby too.
Cons: 1. The wifi was weak, only 1 bar at the 4th floor room we stayed at. 3. It was troublesome to go up and down the stairs to use the washroom. The entrance to the accommodation was on the 2nd floor and we were allocated the highest room on the 4th floor despite mentioning via email that my 65 year old Mother was coming with me. It was 2 long flights of stairs up with luggages in tow. The 2 shared washrooms were on the 3rd and 2nd floor and we had to share those with the guests in 2 other rooms on the 3rd floor. The 3rd floor washroom had 2 doors, one joining a guest room and the other door facing the common corridor. On the 2nd night, the guests on the 3rd floor locked the washroom from the inside and made it their private washroom. We had to seek the help of the guesthouse daughter on opening it. We noticed it was locked again in the morning. Most of the time, we had to make do with going up and down 2 flights of stairs to use the washroom on the 2nd floor. We later learnt that the guesthouse lady was hospitalised at short notice and left her helper to assist us with check in. She apologised to us for the miscommunication and said that she had initially wanted to allocate the 1st floor room with ensuite toilet to us.

Pros: Staff were very kind and helpful , scenic route
Cons: Although scenic, there is only one long , winding road to get there
Pros: We felt very welcomed coming to Ruili and staying in O Sun Win hotel. The owner although does not speak English but he was very kind, trying to communicate with us through Google Translate. He agreed to pick us up from the train station which is 13 kilometers away (500 yuen). The food is fresh and delicious with decent price. The room is decent and enough for 2 of us. The bathroom was a bit small but clean. If there is anything can be improved, we wished to have better towels in the room. The ones we had were pretty thin and small. Thank you O Sun Win for your hospitality
Pros: Good Breakfast, Nice Location. Friendly Staff
