Pros: I chose the Bay Shores Peninsula on a whim, and boy was that a good gamble! The place is really quaint, staff is amazingly kind and attentive, and our room was perfect. There's not a lot of space in the rooms that goes to waste, nice sized closet with small fridge and safe, bathroom clean and well appointed, they even had a little nook turned into a dressing table for us ladies, complete with plugs and a coffeemaker. Good TV plus on demand channels and a wall of DVD movies in the lobby you can borrow. The rooftop lounge area is perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. The breakfast buffet was nice, quite a few choices and good coffee to boot. Plus they make fresh cookies every day, I mean really, it's like visiting family. Parking was a little lacking because there is construction happening, but that is truly out of their control and the staff helps out with that piece as much as they can.
We will definitely be back!
Pros: The Bay Shore Peninsula Hotel is probably the friendless hotel we have ever stayed at, if not #1 it's tied for #1. Extremely convenient to the beach, shopping, dozens of restaurants and whatever you might need are probably within walking distance.
Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel features a rooftop terrace and puts you within a 10-minute walk of Newport Pier. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby kayaking and surfing/boogie boarding, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and buffet breakfast daily between 7 AM and 10 AM. Pillowtop beds, flat-screen TVs, and DVD players are offered in all rooms.
Cons: food service (both in room and at the pool lunch) was slow, inaccurate and not as expected. although the food quality was very good.
Pros: Much better than the Ritz @ Laguna Nigel or Montage.
Pros: EVERYTHING was Amazing. The view, service, room service, amenities and the room was perferct
Cons: We loved everything
Pros: Beautiful resort! Loved our room. Food was amazing! Love the boutique on site.
Cons: Front desk was great. Had an early check in. Staff overall was very slow and not to experienced when it came to bellman and room service. Every time we called for something we sat on hold for a period of time. Then when we left the resort i couldn't see out of my car windows. I had hard water spots all over my beautiful clean mercedes. The sprinklers covered my car and when i asked the valet to help with windex they looked at me like I was crazy.
Pros: The place is awesome and we really enjoyed it
Cons: The place is 5stars but the service and the employees are 0 stare
Featured Package The Special Occasion Packagedelivers a romantic escape. Retreat to a luxurious Bungalow Guestroom with breakfast for two at Coliseum Pool & Grill (excludes tax and gratuity), a rose petal turndown, and a special evening amenity of sparkling Prosecco wine and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Pros: We come back regularly. The hotel is well appointed and the staff is very professional. Rooms are comfortable and view to ocean side over fashion island is super. Oak Grill Room on the deck for breakfast is a treat.
Pros: Very nice & comfortable rooms
Wonderful staff. Very helpful & personable
Cons: Nothing. All was good
Pros: Excellent customer service.
Cons: Everything was great!
Pros: The location was perfect close to shops, restaurant with easy access. The hotel rooms were very comfortable & roomy. The staff was excellent, exceeded any expectations.
Cons: My toilet had some trouble flushing but aside from that no problems.
Please do not print that for public use.
Pros: everything except the HOT, HOT, HOT weather.
Cons: could not get hotel room cool enough in face of heat wave (25 degrees above expected temperature).
Pros: Great location - right across from Fashion Island shopping center. Easy access to restaurants, movies, shopping. Staff was very courteous and friendly. This was my second stay here. I would come back.
Cons: I think the valet parking fee was too high. There wasn't any options provided to self parking. You had no choice but to pay $32 parking fee.

Cons: They are charging you for a bottle of red wine that is in your room. They tell you as they are giving you the key that it's included in the price - well we didn't drink the wine nor did we want to pay for it. It doesn't matter that if you don't want it - you are paying for it anyway, how ridiculous!
Cons: Heat didn't work. Charged $28 for parking without alerting us in advance. Room was completely standard of any hotel. Room service forgot our dressing, and the food was subpar
Pros: Great room on marina.
Cons: It took over an hour to check in. Hotel did not have my Kayak reservation right and I had to spend a lot of time on the phone getting it straight.
Also, make sure you get a room with a water view.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating at the front desk, restaurants, housekeeping, and pool. Room was big and it was nice getting bottled water every day. Food at the restaurant (lunch) was surprisingly good and sitting outside by the bay was enjoyable.
Cons: Overall, the facility was "tired" and is in need of renovations. Especially, the pool area lounges and chairs were old and stained. We prefer fitted sheets (which these were not) and carpets throughout the hotel (room, elevator, halls) need attention. We were told by one of the maintenance personnel who was in our room to fix a sliding shutter door, that the hotel was be remodeled within the next 3 months which is encouraging.
Location was somewhat of a catch-22. It was nice being on the harbor but you really couldn't walk anywhere to shop or eat. Must have car if you want to go anywhere off site. Overall, we had a good time.
Pros: Our room had such a great view of the bay. It was very relaxing and quiet. We kept the balcony doors open almost the whole time! The staff was very polite and accommodating whenever we asked for anything.
Cons: The first room we were put in, the shutters were broken and would not close for privacy. As soon as I called down, they had someone come up and move us 5 doors down within minutes. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Pros: Rooms are very nice with 4 star amenities. mix of families, locals and travelers
Cons: First night room was noisy due to being close to event space. They switched rooms for me next night with an upgrade and waved resort fee. Very professional and accommodating staff.

Pros: The hotel is steps away from the beach, the cleanliness of the hotel, the staff were very pleasant.
Pros: Very close to the main area of town, close to the beach and shops. Friendly staff, quiet, jacuzzi tub was relaxing, basic continential breakfast, good 'beach' decor and atmosphere.
Cons: Rooms felt smaller than the photo, floors felt sandy when we arrived. Very busy in front of hotel with cars, people, traffic, being right across the street of beach-goers. Overall nice hotel
Pros: Near the beach
Cons: Very small room, very small bathroom. Unconforable bed. No windows
Newport Beach Hotel, A Four Sisters Inn puts you within a 10-minute drive of Huntington State Beach and Newport Pier. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and parasailing, and free perks include WiFi and continental breakfast daily between 7 AM and 10 AM. Rooms at this Art Deco bed & breakfast offer up nice touches like premium bedding, down comforters, and designer toiletries.
Pros: Overall, the staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and the grounds were well kept. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked like it had good selections.
Cons: We got a suite with water front view. I think the view was a joke as it looked like a semi-dried up marsh. If you went down a few blocks, it was beautiful. I was a little disappointed with the view as I paid extra for it. The bed was very uncomfortable, my husband and I tossed and turned all night.
Pros: The staff were great especially Mica
Pros: Nice facility, friendly staff, comfortable large room. $28 for parking in a non-enclosed lots seemed kinda high, but what can you do. A 3.5-4 star hotel at this rate you really can't complain
Cons: $28 for parking a night? Like just hide it in the fee or something because it's just ridiculous. I'd guess that 95% of guests arrive with at least one car.
Cons: Parking should be more clear that it is charged.. I would have rather just ubered there
Cons: They charge $25 for parking and there are no other parking options.
Pros: Newly remodeled and well kept up. Quiet, and a great view. Service at the cafe was awesome. The price I paid was a very good value.
Pros: The large bathroom with a separate shower and bath was amazing. The bedrooms had doors separating it from the spacious living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were 2 TVs with a fairly good selection of channels.
Cons: The hotel is located away from places to eat so ordering room service sounds great but it's extremely overpriced. Price of parking was ridiculous. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and the extra blankets were scratchy.
Pros: Loved that the bedroom was separate from the family room, complimentary mini fridge, bath tub & stand up shower was a big plus, easy access to freeway, food & beach!
Cons: Other than noise from remodeling, I love love love this location!

Pros: Staff was amazing and nice. But under trained and need more knowledge on processes
Cons: Messed up our room and what was going on and got charged for parking 2 types in1 day.
Pros: Visiting a family member in hospital. Your Marriott staff could not have been more accommodating. The Concierge lounge was perfect.
Cons: I can not think of anything
Pros: The greeting by front desk @ 3:00AM after a horrendous flight from east coast was so very welcome. That attitude was evident during my entire four night stay. Marriott has never forgotten that hospitality is about the people, more than just a place to rest your body.
Cons: This was an overall great experience. I do not have a single suggestion on improving anything I experienced
Pros: Spa was amazing!
Cons: Pay for parking and taking extra money for deposit
Pros: The friendliness of the staff
Pros: Fantastic location.Great value for money.Very clean.Great pool and jacuzzis.Will definitely be back!Even a Starbucks!And a great bar.Fire pits at night.Sunset was incredible to top off a great getaway.10/10.
Pros: The staff is VERY sweet and helpful. Great location.
Valets were SO SWEET! Extremely clean.
Cons: My ONLY problem was I reserved TWO DOUBLE BEDS.
I brought my 15 year old daughter and her best friend
For a one night getaway. I received an am txt that our room would be ready at 4pm.. So we went to fashion island for fun lunch at Lemonade
And some shopping. When we went to check in.. At 4pm.. I was told
That they had over sold and our room had one king bed. In my reservation I specified THREE PEOPLE! I feel like I got bumped cuz I reserved thru kayak... Paid less. They brought up a HUGE rollaway
That took up half the room. We couldn't even make room for it..
So we all 3 slept in one bed. Not the end of the world.. But I would have appreciated better communication. Beautiful hotel and we had a lot of fun.
Pros: Marriott hotels have always been an enjoyable experience. The room, location and overall stay was very nice.
Cons: The in room dining as well as pool service staff was beyond slow. The drinks by the pool had a 30 minute ticket time and I had to call in room dining 6 times before my what was supposed to be surprise order of champagne arrived. I'm in the industry as well and understand things get busy. The in room dining gave us some strawberries as an apology for the delay which was nice but th pool staff did nothing to appease everyone's clear annoyance with the slowness of service. It wouldn't deter me from returning necessarily but it does make me question the hiring process at this location. Not only was the pool staff slow, the gentleman had the personality of a shoe.
Pros: It was close to malls and movies.
Cons: Not the best views in Newport

Pros: Location, seconds away from the beach and easy exsit to freeways. cleanliness, room cleaned daily and well stocked with towels. front desk was friendly and helpful. Our room faced the beach and had a view of the marina. Compliment Breakfest had a decent spread for being free.
Cons: Parking was a little tight some nights. Near the 1 FWY can get some traffic noise

Pros: The room was clean and the staff was very friendly.
Cons: I couldn't breathe. There was no air circulation. I could not sleep. When I went to check out, they could not confirm the cost and said I should check my credit card bill.
Pros: Location is right in the middle of everything. Park the car and walk where you want.
Cons: 3pm check seems late in the day for check. In addition our room was not even ready at 3.
Pros: I loved that it was so close to the ocean yet felt like being in a home. The room was big and comfortable. The staff were friendly and it was nice to have breakfast in the morning, too.
Dorymans Oceanfront Inn features a rooftop terrace and puts you just steps from Newport Pier. Free perks include full breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms offer upscale touches like fireplaces and soaking tubs, along with flat-screen TVs and room service.
Pros: Dirty ,stained curtains, old ,narrow hallways,no heated pool
Newport Channel Inn features a rooftop terrace and puts you just a 5-minute drive from Huntington State Beach. Freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks, and guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and parasailing. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with LCD TVs and premium bedding.
Cons: The towels were cheap, resort and valet fees were excessive. I felt like I was staying in the holiday inn. Will never go back.
Pros: Close to Newport restaurants
Cons: Found used silverware outside door at 4pm checkin. At 11:30pm silverware still there. Found used eyelashes on sink at checkin. No bathtub. Disappointed stay for the $220 nite rate
Pros: Great gym and pools. Very nice outdoor setting.
Cons: Parking costs additional $35/ day. Rooms are clean but feel old and cheap. They add 20% tip to the bill for any service provided...food.
Cons: Pool area not cleaned up well....needs facelift badly!
Bar Mitzvah at hotel was noisy at night.
Expensive self-parking ($27 per day) and "resort fee" ($25 per day) adds significant cost to room.
Pros: The staff are very helpful and cheerful.
Cons: Bar area is limited and subject to a lot of noise from families passing through or as part of a large concert crowd that can dominate the whole area at weekends. The resort is more than walking distance to most other shopping or restaurant areas or the beach. No quiet area for a drink and conversation.
Pros: Gorgeous landscape and places to relax.
Cons: Kids at adult only pool!
Cons: Maybe decor needs updating
Pros: The room was very nice and modern. Valet parking efficient.
Cons: The resort fee was an unnecessary and unreasonable charge. The Friday night brunch is $50 apiece and worth under $20. They served dried our turkey breast at the carving station that had to be covered in gravey. The beef chunks were very tough. Don't eat there. Bring snacks and drinks. A bottle of beer is $4.50 the resort store. Poolside service is only during summer. This is Southern California. Summer is year around.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were very nice with lots of places to sit and enjoy them.
Cons: They have concerts on Friday night and they are quite loud, we were not notified they would be going on. I think that guest should be advised when they make their resevations.
Pros: The water slide for kids was pretty cool and the food was good, although pricy.
Cons: Self parking is really far from the rooms. Plus you have to walk up a steep hill to get from the parking to your room. They don't have ramps to some of the areas. Had to carry out stroller down to the pool with the slide. The walls in rooms are really thin. Our room was next to the maid service room so pretty much the whole nights we would hear door slamming, people talking and carts being moved around. On our last night we could hear a couple arguing in the next room for like an hour. We could literally hear every word. We had two small children with us so all the noise would wake them up. Pictures on the web look nice but in real life the hotel is not even close to it. The lobby is the only nice area in the hotel.
Pros: Very quiet and relaxing. The grounds are well kept, the room was very spacious. There are a lot of activities and the location of the hotel is great, you can drive to the beach in 5 minutes, fashion island is next door and Sherman's gardens are just down the road.
Cons: Parking is expensive ($25/day) and the lot is a bit of a hike from the hotel depending on which room you have.
Pros: Not much
Cons: See above
Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a recently renovated beautifully landscaped resort-style property located on 26 acres overlooking the Back Bay of Newport Beach. The hotel's 407 new rooms provide views of the Bay, Golf Course, one of three sparkling pools or lush gardens; internet access in all meeting rooms and guest rooms, a self-service business center, free airport shuttle to Orange county airport, Fashion Island and Balboa Island, within 5 miles of the business centers of Irvine & Santa Ana
Pros: Location, it caters to the beach, eateries, pertty much everything in Newport. My Wife and I are always out and about when we are in CA. So all we need is a room to sleep. Don't need a pool because the beach is walking distance. Don't need breakfast because you have all sorts of selection of great food around you. Don't need an gym because you can cruise on a bike or take a walk/run on the beach. Best fits our needs
Cons: Because it's on the main Blvd, noise can be an issue. I'm guessing depend on which room you are in. Do have firm beds, which I prefer but the wife didn't. Personal preference I guess
At Little Inn By The Bay Newport Beach, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Huntington State Beach and Newport Pier. Freebies like WiFi, self parking, and wired Internet are added perks, and guests can keep active with onsite surfing/boogie boarding. Nice touches like pillowtop beds with premium linens are offered up in all rooms, along with LCD TVs and DVD players.
Pros: It was only 1 block to the beach. Beach chairs, umbrellas & sand toys available at the desk, and of course parking. Full breakfast to get you ready for a day at the beach.
Cons: A little ways away from Newport Pier and activity. Breakfast area was a little small.
Pros: This hotel is in a perfect location and the price is unbeatable. The hotel rooms are the same rooms you'd get at a 4 star hotel without all the resort fees and 50 dollars a night to park your car. Parking here is 7 dollars in and out privileges. They have free breakfast every morning.
Pros: We live in fullerton and stayed here in Newport and loved it. The beach was great. It was detached enough to not be too close to the very loud Newport area further south. Overall great trip.
Pros: Proximity to beach.
Cons: Stayed facing the street side and it was loud.
Cons: I started my period during the night and got a little blood on the sheets and they charged my credit card $150 without even telling me for "damage" to the room. It was extremely offensive and I will never stay here again. I am NOT happy.

Pros: Valet, friendly staff, clean, nice lobby and pool area.
Cons: Outdated hallway carpet and decor
Expensive parking ($33/night)
Double rooms include full size beds rather than queen size
A little hard to spot from the street
Building looks like a business
Far from the beach (25-30 min with weekend traffic)
Pros: We were there for a Charity Gala. The patio is very pleasant for an evening event. The bed was comfortable, and I always enjoy Aveeda bathroom products.
Cons: I found the policies for entertainment to be completely antiquated! The majority of the tv channels are still Low Def! We ordered a movie and fell asleep, only to be told by the front desk staff that the system is operated by a different company so rewatching meant PAYING AGAIN (in less than a 24 hr period). If I were traveling for business, this might have little impact on my rating. But when staying for pleasure, this is unacceptable in Orange County!
Cons: Below average service
Room had a weird smell. Asked reception to change my room and they said that they couldnt. They told me that I would need to upgrade and pay the price difference. Cleaning service were cleaning empty rooms at 10 pm while we were trying to sleep. 32$ parking per night in an area where it should be free. Better options out there. Definitely not returning.
Pros: $32/night mandatory valet parking is ridiculous. Other than that, nice place.
Pros: Mattress was comfy.
Cons: No self parking option. Valet $32 but half price for hybrid vehicles.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and they surprised us a an anniversary treat!! The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy!
Cons: Valet is mandatory and quite expensive!
Cons: $32 for parking! My god.
Pros: The bathroom was great and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The restaurant was just fair.
Pros: It was all very beautiful, nice comfortable bed. Everything seems nice, new, and fresh. Amazing internet speed. Seems very executive.
Cons: No where nearby will have free or cheap parking. I paid $30 bucks for parking overnight and $20 for wifi. Room was decently priced, but it was so fancy i didn't want to take the complimentary soaps just incase they'd charge me for that too.
Pros: Got a great deal great location!
Cons: Be prepared for the $30 parking fee.
Cons: The rooms need to be updated.
Cons: We booked a single King. We got a tiny room with two double beds. Said they were out of Kings. Said they don't guarantee requests for online bookings. We were very disappointed. They did move us the second night but there was a constant banging noise in the vent so we couldn't sleep. We were treated like second class boarders. Parking is $32 a night with no option. The breakfast was not up to Fairmont standards. We will not stay there again.

Pros: the location is very convenient to places, the SNA airport, and UCI.
Pros: the location was the best part of this hotel stay and it had a full kitchen, as well as the location being close to where we had to be.
Cons: At first when we got there @ about almost midnight there was a complaint about the noise and the worker was not really worried about his complaint so that worried me...then when we checked in she gave us the wrong room on the wrong floor making a long night even longer...the breakfast was not the best, if you are a cold person you should take more blankets
