When I think about the best hotels in Salt Lake City, what comes to mind is the quick and easy access to shopping, restaurants, and attractions in Utah’s family-friendly capital. Whether you’re looking for luxury retreats or more unique establishments, you’ve got plenty of options to choose from for your next getaway. The best hotels to stay in Salt Lake City often have views of the nearby Wasatch Mountains and offer convenient perks to help you make the most of your time in the city, such as complimentary hot breakfast, free airport shuttles, and fitness centers. As you start planning your next vacation, consider taking a trip to Utah and booking a room at one of these top-rated places. I visit the city often and these are some of the very best choices to stay.

1.

Grand America Hotel

Address:

555 South Main Street

Price:

$242-$1,937/night

I think the best way to describe Grand America Hotel is elegant. Choose between 396 executive suites and 379 premier rooms, many of which have views of the impressive Wasatch Mountains. All of the accommodations are spacious, starting at 700 square feet and going up to 2,000 square feet, so you’ll never feel cramped here.
One of the most relaxing places at this 24-story hotel is the center courtyard, which features perfectly manicured gardens, exquisite bronze sculptures, and tranquil water foundations. It’s truly stunning and is the perfect place to spend a few calming moments outdoors, in my experience.
This hotel – which was built ahead of the 2002 Winter Olympics – also has four dining venues, including a French patisserie that specializes in indulgent and beautifully decorated pastries and desserts. If that doesn’t satisfy your sweet tooth, treat yourself to afternoon high tea, which is served every day in the lobby lounge and features either live piano or harp music.

2.

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City

Address:

15 West 200 South

Price:

$105-$690/night

One of the reasons I recommend Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake to all my friends and family is its cheery, colorful decor. The public spaces are decorated in rich red, vivid blue, and warm golden hues, while the guest accommodations are light and airy, with strategically placed pops of color.
The hotel is steeped in history: the building dates back to the 1860s and still retains some of its original architectural features. One more reason this hotel is in my top recommendations is the top-notch list of amenities, including a yoga mat in every room and custom kids’ scooters that little ones can use for free.
There’s also a delicious on-site restaurant named Bambara and a bar and lounge called The Vault. Best of all, the Kimpton is located right downtown, just steps away from a rail stop.

3.

AC Hotel by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown

Address:

225 West 200 South

Price:

$137-$614/night
