We didn’t like much, but there was plenty of hot water and laundry on site (though we didn’t use it at all). Location is in a nice neighborhood.
The property is in a fairly shabby state - there are tears in some of the paper screens, the doors do not slide well in their tracks, and tinfoil is used as waterproofing in the bathroom. The staff was almost never on site. When we were checked in, we got very little information on house policies or operations. The walls were essentially non existent - you could hear every zipper opening and throat clearing from every room in the house. There are lockers, but they are quite small and we had to find them ourselves.
No obstacle when sleeping.
In the case that I come there by travel, I wouldn’t go because of its thin wall and old building. I’m really sorry for the stuff, but it’s uncomfortable. So for the buisiness is good but for the travel is bad.
Wifi was garbage. There was no one there when I checked in. Had to call them and they were 15 mins away, had to leave and come back to find out I couldn't pay with credit. I pay with cash and they didn't even have 700 yen change, they had to start searching around for extra change. Place was freezing, the only heat was isolated in someones bunk so it didn't heat the room. The curtains were see through. The bathroom was full of mold. The shower rooms weren't even finished being renovated, very cold. Bed was very uncomfortable and squeezy. Anytime anyone moved you'd wake up. No lights out rule so people in my room had the lights on the entire night, which wouldn't normally be a problem but my curtains also didn't keep any light out. My bunk light was leaking battery acid. Bunk was terribly uncomfortable. Lockers weren't big enough for an average sized hikers backpack so I had to trust the people in my room weren't going to steal anything. Overall was a terrible time and couldnt wait to leave. Only redeeming factor was it was in a decent location for my needs. But I've defintely stayed in much better for less money.
The one staff member that came was nice, but she couldn’t speak English at all. The hostel was cheap and location wasn’t bad.
Staff is practically nonexistent. They’re never there, even within the checkin hours, you have to call them for them to come. I was lucky enough to have a phone, but my friend arrived the previous day and had to borrow a phone from another guest (that was thankfully also there). It’s small, the rooms were ok but everywhere else it was freezing, including the toilets. The bed is very uncomfortable, as is the pillow. The shower room was kinda falling apart, with mold and humidity, too small to fit a person comfortably and the drain was clogged so you’d get a disgusting pool at your feet the whole time you’re showering. Needless to say, forget about toiletries. A couple in my dorm checked out the previous day i arrived and, since no one occupied their beds, the day i left they still hadn’t changed their sheets or cleaned the room. I wouldn’t come back here even if it were considerably cheaper than the next available option. You can find far better places in Osaka for the same price or just slightly more.
Comfortable bed and the location.
There was a cockroach on the stairs.. Kitchen was tiny and all cups and cutlery were sticky. There was a weird smell in the building. Non existing staff. So far the worst hostel I stayed at in Japan.
