Our view was great, very relaxing, beautiful, rooms were cozy and the location was convenient. That we didnt stay longer :(
Market Grille food and service were excellent. Very good coffee Very disappointed with the room. No refrigerator or microwave. Royal Cup coffee was very good, but packages of powdered cream not good. Arrangement of room, lack of comfortable chairs to watch tv or read newspaper. Never could get room temperature comfortable, Seemed to be about 3 degrees difference in room temp and thermostat setting.
The staff at the hotel were very nice and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and the exterior of the hotel has been modernized to some extent. Parking was easy. Check out was smooth. I was sort of hoping for a surprise on the continental breakfast like a waffle machine, but it was the basic cereal and yogurt offerings. The breakfast area was very clean and well presented, nothing special, nothing too disappointing. This place is a throwback to the early 70's. My first room had furniture in it that I believe had been there since 1973. The carpet was worn and the A/C was not cooling. It was a sticky night, so it was too warm to stay in that one. Had to trek back to the lobby to exchange keys for room #2. I had hoped that the clerk would give me the best available room on the second try, but that didn't happen. The second room looked much worse than the first. Worn out carpet with several holes and a smell like a broken refrigerator that had been left closed for a month greeted me as I entered the room. Again, the same Brady Bunch era furniture was found in this room too. Plastic dollar store grade chairs on the balcony were also a turn off. Since I had an early appointment, I settled for the room I had at this point. The mattress has no padding left so I spent the night sleeping on the ripples of the innerspring that was poking through the fitted sheet on the bed. If you thought all standard def tube TVs were all in the dump by now, nope, this room has some off-brand model from the early 90's with a sluggish remote control. Bottom line, there is a Hampton Inn one mile up the road -- spend the extra few bucks and get a good night's sleep there.
I like the location, it was very near my trade show. Staff were friendly, check in/out was easy. I like that it's on the canal although I didn't get to explore the property. If I stay here again I'll ask for a room near the back, away from the busy highway. My room faced hwy 19 and the traffic noise was significant. There were tiny ants in the room. The entire building looks good but gives the sense that it's past its prime.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable! The lobby is also nice and the staff were helpful. I liked having the sunrise coming trough my window in the morning and having a personal balcony. There was coffee and breakfast snacks available in the morning. The lobby also had a computer for guests to use and wifi in the rooms. The breakfast could have some more options... The hot tub wasn't really working - it got hot but no jets. The pool is not heated though the booking sites and their website said it was. It would be really great if there was a partnership with a local kayak/canoe rental company since it is on the lake - With specials or st least contact information.
Size and comfort of bed. Restaurant was closed. Room could be cleaned more (vacuumed around edge of room). There was lots of dust around there.
Claean good location nice people Probably wouldn't hurt to let people know you changed the name of the hotel
Water view Too many noisy workman staying there
Was lead to believe no pets were allowed, but they were. Dog pooh all over the grounds.
The view is nice. Right next to lake tarpon. Room was very clean and remodeled. It's a quiet and nice place The continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Couldn't even find regular coffee there.
This is a good place for tradesmen in the area who need a place overnight if too far from home...staff was nice but boisterous...couldn't hear the TV or table conversation at breakfast for the hootin' and hollerin' (and raucous laughter) at the front desk...no consciousness or concern of the impact on the guests of such behavior...hotel maintenance men wandered in and out of the breakfast area drinking coffee, juices, etc., just as if were guests...reminded me of the casual lack of sophistication of some seedier places in Greece, Spain, etc., that I've visited...(the onsite restaurant that was advertised is closed and 'For Lease'...with no close-by alternatives) See column one....
Not much No response from management. Water pipe broke and flooded room no competition or upgrade. I was a front desk manager for 8years at a resort. Sand in sheets. Unfitted sheet. Unacceptable breakfast
Nothing The first room was damp and had a heavy mildew/mold smell to it, the second room was less damp and the smell wasn't as bad. It was 10:30 and I wasn't changing rooms again. The mildew/mold effected my son's asthma problems which hadn't flared in years. Neither of us could breathe well in there. Avoid this place!!!
Liked waterfront canal location with a patio overlooking the canal. Quality of bed and chairs was not very good. Breakfast staff had difficulty keeping coffee and supplies furnished in a timely manner.
The front desk was friendly My room had bed bugs and the carpet felt wet. Everything was so outdated and dirty. Save yourself the time & unless you can only afford $40 for a night you should go down the road a little ways to the Red Roof Inn which for $58 (3 night minimum cash only price) a night it is easily worth the money imho unless u like living with bugs. This review is real. I paid for one night at Kings Inn & I left before midnight. To go find another place for the night. I booked online thru kayak and paid $60.
Excellent service we were treated like rock stars! The smoking in the casino.
casino and room booked smoking room did not det smoking room
The hotel has many facilities. It was further from the center as we thought and because of the casino (we assumed) the public was quite elderly, which we had not expected of a Hardrock hotel. Also too bad the breakfast was not included even though the rate was quite high (189 USD excl VAT)
i liked that the rooms where clean and luxury and didnt have the typical casino smoke smell i didnt like the fact that i didnt get the room i booked online although this one was very nice maybe even upgraded but they should have mentioned it
Parking was an issue as a guest of the hotel a $10 fee to park in the parking deck which was reimbursed by the hotel or a $25 overnight valet parking fee which you did not get reimbursed on as a customer of the hotel you should have the option to valet your car without the $25 fee
Not hot water in the night , the bath tube bad
We had to go to Tampa airport so decided to stay in Tampa for the night. The hotel is near the airport, but on Tampa Bay. The location is excellent. Adjoining the hotel is a casual restaurant/bar owned by Hulk Hogan and the food was good
No shampoo and conditioner the first night, second night they took dirty linens and didn't replace, also lots of remodeling noise, third day had Jack hammering in room next to us and was told " remodeling" i said that is great but you shouldn't have put us next to it! Not a great stay... No breakfast either
Staff were super friendly. Great shuttle service! Food was a delicious. I would stay there again.
Good value, convenient to airport with free shuttle. On site restaurant has decent food and beds are comfortable.
Beautiful view of the Harbor. The room was very very clean, no Florida bugs that you always hear of. Night life exceptional, many things to do within walking distance. Their restaurant and breakfast is great, and not high priced. Will definitely recommend and visit again.
The view and the balcony, nice pool and amenities. enjoyed the local bar/restaurant whiskey Joes a walk away. overall a good stsy except for the experience of having to use the bathroom late night and walking barefoot and getting stabbed by a shard of glass by the mini-fridge right in the bottom of the foot and it didn't come from me or my girlfriend. Woke me up and I wasn't to happy wearing shoes in my room the rest of my stay.
Room was nice. The attached Beach restaurant created a perfect retreat after a long days of travel and work. This early riser was left in a ghost town when it came to finding coffee and something to eat. Shower squealed until I busted up all the hardwater despots in the shower head.
Front desk personal was friendly and helpful Shower head was messed up and dirty. Complained a few times to house keeping and still was not fix. Plus there were uncovered holes and 1 outlet was not covered properly.
Stayed 6 nights, it was to visit my daughter at UT college. The drive into the city wasn't bad. Very busy during rush hours but that's any city. Also drove to golf courses and Anna Maria Island all was easy enough. Pool was nice, clean. Gym is bigger than most hotel fitness areas, Fresh coffee every morning. There is bar and restaurant right next store. Out side deck. Nice enough for a beer. I'll stay there again when I go back The help when I got there turned me off. There was a few people at the counter (line of about 6 people) and only one girl trying to help while two were not bothering to help. They could see people were waiting. The one young girl had to ask them to jump in.
Nice view No super market nearby. One of elavators was not working all the time. Staff were not helpful at all. We arrived there around midnight and we had to stay in the lobby for about an hour and half till they gave us the room. Toilet flush was not working properly.
I arrived at the hotel close to 11pm, and my room still was not ready. After waiting for 20-30 minutes for them to prepare a room, it was the wrong room and there was dirt/dust all over the bathroom counter and sink. I had booked a water view room and the only view i had was a parking lot. Around 1am I was woken up by pounding on my door.. once I opened it I was questioned as to wether or not I had even checked into the hotel since they had no record of anyone staying in that room and it was supposed to be vacant.
The staff was very nice. The room was very modern. I didn't expect such a great experience. don't get me wrong I expected it to be fine but it exceeded just fine only drawback was that our lightbulb in the front hallway of our room was dead but everything else was perfect and even though we brought in Christmas away from home we still felt comfortable bringing it in there. I definitely look forward to staying there again on our next visit.
Excellent food and service, top notch room.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was pretty and the boardwalks were scenic. Our shower fixture was broken but still usable. I let the staff know when we checked out about the issue.
Clean and hospitable
Great time for the New Years Celebration. Hotel was clean, room had a great view, and the people were very helpful. I would def come back and stay here again.
Everything was clean, room service was speedy, all in all a pretty enjoyable stay The pillows aren't that comfortable for my neck. I feel as if they were just puffs of air that didn't provide much neck support.
The room and Hotel was very clean. The staff was excellent. Valet remembered us and was very personable every time we saw him. I can't remember the name of the front desk clerk when we checked in, he was very professional and helpful. This was our first time in the Tampa area and after our stay at the Hyatt we are ready to go back. The bed was very comfortable I never wanted to get out. I only have one complaint. Right after we checked into the room. Maintinence arrived at the request of the maid to fix the toilet paper roll in the wall. She had just walked in without knocking. After she saw us in the room she explained and did not know that we had checked in at the time.
I liked the waterfront view. It was a nice view on the 6th flor and look out over the bay especially at night view. The size of beds were too small and the placement of the lights in the room didn't allow proper lighting. They were too bright over the bed. The rugs needed cleaning.
Great suite is a converted condo over looking the bay. Terrific view Bedroom was to small, Building echoes, not centralized location, but close to interstate so was okay.
its very comfortable, it has all we needed. it´s probably a little away, and you ought to have a car. we used it just too sleep cause we were visitin`, Tampa, St. Petersburg & Clearwater all during` weekend. there was too much light in the bedroom, the black out curtain wasn´t enough, but we were so tired, that we didn´t mind at all.
It's a bit old and could use some updates
Nit a great loation unless you have a car.
Beautiful location on Tampa Bay. Excellent staff and beautifully kept grounds. The room was a little run down and aged, but nice layout. We liked the balcony, kitchen and amenities. The room could use a little sprousing up and repaired. Door jambs, tile and holes in the closet walls for A/C and water heater access should be fixed. Flyers in the room asked us to conserve water, but the shower faucet leaked and could not be turned completly off.
The security was pretty good. The view was relaxing. I was dissapointed because what I booked was not what I got. I reserved two bedroom suite and I ended in two separate rooms because the room was given to another person.
The location, the facility and the staff were all great. We'll stay again if we need hotel in Tampa, and will recommend it to others.
I prefer this over a Hyatt/Marriott any day. Very affordable, kitchen availability which we used daily, private balcony with beautiful views, staff were very accommodating, security on site, lots to do for kids or space to just relax for adults. Free shuttle to and from airport was great. lots of parking available. We would love to come back! Can't think of anything.
This hotel was really clean and tasteful. My room was very comfortable and staff was very helpful. Will stay again next time I'm in town. I wasn't sure where the hotel ended and the business complex or restaurants started. Granted, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I kind of found myself wandering around and in some area's felt out of place in shorts and flip-flops.
Location, attractive room and lobby, parking garage, nice TV. The high bed, no hot water, difficulty turning on shower, toilet running, broken bathroom door hook, no movie channel.
Best breakfast buffet of any hotel.
Good location, free parking, clean room, very comfortable beds! Great experience overall...can't wait to return! No negatives
Very clean hotel, and courteous staff. Booked this hotel last minute, and only wish I could've stayed longer. I would definitely be back to enjoy that rooftop pool that I missed.
The pool on the roof was very nice, decor throughout hotel was tasteful, staff very friendly Having to pay extra to use the refrigerator in the room- after the cost of the room it should be included.
close to american board of pathology, shula's steak house, nice room away from elevators with good temperature control, nice tub, pleasant staff a bit pricey, no refrigerator space; last time i was here i was in a room near the elevators and had difficulty sleeping as people go up and down all night
My room had only lukewarm water and was extremely noisy.
The staff (not managers) are friendly. My stay at this hotel was entirely disappointing. I requested a room away from the elevators and had called twice to confirm this request and was given a room right next to loud creaky bumping elevators. My friend had ordered me room service to be in my room when I arrived as a surprise and it was never there and would not have been delivered had she not asked how I enjoyed my surprise food. At my insistence I was moved to a different room the next day and the day I left the hotel saw a BED BUG crawling on my pillow as I was getting ready. I alerted the staff who was appropriately horrified only to NOT hear from a manager for the next day and a half. After repeated calls and emails from me including one to a front staff who said she had seen the manager and was surprised I had not heard back only to be lied to by that same manager hours later that she 'only just arrived' and that was why my calls were not returned. Finally after a rant to a lower level manager the front desk manager was all of the sudden made available to me and finally an investigation into the bed bug was launched. What is MOST disturbing is because they themselves had not 'confirmed' this was a bed bug (which is very clearly was...I have photos) they could not tell me for certain that no one else was staying in that room. At the LEAST that room and neighboring rooms should have been closed and checked immediately but the managers were slow to take action and initially very dismissive. It is a DISGUSTING feeling to have the experience of knowing you slept somewhere that has bed bugs and all the effort I had to put in once I got home to try and decontaminate myself and my stuff to not infest my house and my baby's nursery. Most disheartening was the response from the hotel on the matter. I wish this review would let me submit the picture of the bed bug I took. I was forced to stay at this hotel because of an exam that was being given onsite but I will never stay at this or any related hotel again. Not even because of the bed bugs themselves, but because the hotel was so slow to respond and so dismissive, potentially putting others at risk as well by not quarantining the room(s).
Very nice building. The place was very well decorated and it was apparent that considerable effort was put into the interior design of my room. There was a very nice fitness center with a full range of equipment (including free weights; a rarity for a hotel) and there were even complimentary earbuds (wifi was $13.95 but earbuds are free? ... Seems odd but thank you.). The whole place seemed very clean on the houskeeping side but there was some building maintenance issues. The staff I encountered were very friendly and hospitible. With the exception of the minibar which was jam packed with the usual assortment of ridiculously priced things there was no fridge. Also, despite the a/c being set to 65° the entire time the room never felt cooler than 75° which makes it very hard for me to sleep. We were on the top floor so I assumed it was the blazing hot sun beating on the building but even at night it couldn't catch up. Lastly the wifi cost $13.95 to use which I thought was pretty steep considering every hotel I've stayed in for the past 10 years or so has included it for free.
When we opened up the mini bar it had not been cleaned in a while. Something brown had leaked in the bottom of the fridge. Very gross. We were told another guest had put some of their own things in the fridge and that's what made the mess. So no one ever cleans or looks in the mini bar? We were in a junior suite and you expect the room to be clean. Also there were 6 bed risers stacked up on the bedroom night stand. Will not be back again. Very disappointed in the hotel. You should not have to call the front desk to get your room cleaned.
Hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. The check in process was less than pleasant as was the concierge. Having to go up and down the 5th floor because none of the 6 keys worked is unacceptable. What made matters worse was the lack of concern and empathy the concierge expressed toward the situation. An apology wasn't offered nor was anything provided in attempts to make up for the issue.
Good location and customer service
they have just about all you need on site pool side bar, lobby bar, sports bar and grill that was able to get our home town games for us, upscale 4 star restaurant and an excellent spa... we went to Florida to hit the beech and found our selves struggling to find a reason to leave our hotel spa services were amazing cant say enough about the experience, do yourself a solid and book a message. no on site parking you are forced to valet your car for 24$ a day and neither our booking site nor the mariot site see it fit to mention that... that said the valet service was good and we never had to wait long for our car
Location can't be beat, pool is nicer than embassy across street. Valet service is also way better than embassy....that's what I pay more for. AC never gets real cold for me...I stay here a lot when I attend hockey games...I always stay here or embassy across the street. I've been choosing Marriott because the valet for embassy is a zoo and takes forever when you try and leave in the morning but if Marriott doesn't fix their AC I'm gonna have to find something else.
I wouldn't stay at this hotel for free!
Staff was great from the moment i stepped in. Restaurant in hotel, night club, pool, basically all you need. Room was cleaned and smelled great. The room wasnt luxurious, like marble baths, but was clean and provided all we needed. Door to the room opened outside. Room had 2 full sized beds, not queens. (My fault for not double checking) We were positioned close to the night club and listened to thumping at 10pm when we went to sleep. We had a 5am wake up, so we missed the am breakfast that starts at 7.
The check in process was very slow and not very friendly. I did not know the hotel was garden style, appearing to be more of a motel. The room was very dank, both double beds visibly sank in the middle of the mattress. The bathroom was clean, but the molding in the bathroom was either not complete, or not cut or installed correctly. The hotel was extremely noisy, with a lot of activity (fighting) in the late night/early morning.
Comfortable bed needs updating of furnishings and decor. Carpet tacks from bedrrom area to bathroom were exposed, painful!! Restaurant was expensive.
We did not have shuttle service to the airport between 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM and we had to pay a Taxi driver $30.00 to be able to make our flight. There were three of us. The front desk was unsympathetic and we almost missed our flight.
Clean room. Good size Restaurant in hotel has poor service and doesn't seem clean. Wouldn't eat there
The fact that its next door to a strip club Sink didnt work. Had to use shower to brush teeth.
Price Soggy , sticky carpet. AC leaked. One slow elevator, getting to our room was a challenge. NO continental breakfast, NO microwave in ea room (one $20 microwave next to ice machine)
The location is great and very close to the airport. You could tell that the room had been updated (new paint, fresh linens, nice towels, etc) and there was a mini fridge - not bad for under $100 a night. The bed was horrible - completely worn down to the springs on one side and the other wasn't much better. The sheets were nice though. The outside door had a gap about as wide as my finger all the way around and the carpet looked quite dirty and worn. The front desk staff were pleasant at check-in, however it was a completely different story at check-out. I clearly interrupted the two employees talking when I walked up to the desk. After both looking at me standing there, they continued their personal conversation for another five minutes and after realizing I wasn't going away, reluctantly came to the desk. I said I needed to check out, she asked my room number, then didn't say another word, just slapped the paper on the desk and walked back to the office behind the desk, closing the door behind her. Not a bad price, but I don't plan on saying here again.
We had a room on the top floor. The front desk staff was friendly, the room was a good size. Only 10 minutes to get to the straz center downtown. We woke up to people yelling down the hall to each other and a woman using very foul language. I acknowledge this isn't the hotels fault, but if I stayed again I would ask for s room far away from the elevator. The walls are pretty thin to the outside so you could clearly hear other people's conversations as they walked by our room.
Close to Airport No shuttle at night; Breakfast not included; outside (motel) doors; Could hear highway traffic; Restaurant opened 15 minutes late;
With clean room....large bed....close to testing center of my daughter.....
Very comfortable bed Some issues with the soundproofing of the rooms. A little noisy.
I was in town for a concert at the Amalie Arena and didn't want to drive back to my home on the east Florida coast the same night. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the room was great. I would stay there again. The usual downsides to a downtown hotel, like having to pay a lot for parking and no spots available in the valet lot. Also, the only way I could find to get from the part of the 3rd floor where the catwalk from the garage/City of Tampa building and the conference rooms were was to go down the escalator to the lobby and then take a second set of elevators to the guest rooms (I was on the 8th floor).
The Hotel staff was amazing.. Very polite and made sure our stay was as comfortable and easy going as possible. The room was also amazing!!! Very spacious and clean and very comfortable beds.. I loved my stay at the Hilton and will be making this hotel chain my #1 choice when vacationing. I loved everything!!
I had a short stay. The price was the main factor in my choice and the location near a conference at the Marriott. The view was very pleasant. I did not use any of the facilities so could not really rate this item. I suggest having a box NA for this circumstance. The mattresses are very soft. My experience is that good mattresses and hotel mattresses are firm. No vending machines on the floors. Water flow in the sink was very low. Shower produced huge volume, which wastes too much water. I suggest low flow shower heads, but it may be that guests like using floods of water when it's not their own. The cable TV lost the satellite connection, possibly due to a thunderstorm at that time.
Upscale, clean, friendly staff. Nothing was included. Had to pay an outrageous amount per day to park, internet was also a fee (two days with that fee is what I pay for a month of internet at home). I expected normal mark-ups for food and drinks but to pay that much for simple amenities which should be free was ridiculous. But I guess it was my fault for not checking on that; I've just never stayed at a hotel where that stuff wasn't included.. especially for the price of this hotel.
Going from Denver to Tampa in December what is an important factor to a three day stay? Swimming in a heated outdoor pool as shown on the Westin website. We arrived on the third floor in our suits ready to swim only to find out the pool was under construction. The hotel claims the third party we booked with should have told us, they didn't. Neither did the front desk when we checked in. Very disappointed!
The place wasn't clean, even after we complained the next day coffee stains were left on counter, a dirty glass with lipstick was just put on shelf. Also the plumbing was loud. There's no soundproofing, we could hear the person snoring in the next room. The manager did give us free breakfast which was nice but if I hadn't prepaid I'd have moved
Looks very beautiful in common areas Lots of money for what you get and you have to pay extra to park which isn't included anywhere when you sign up as well as pay for wifi
Location is fantastic. Great views. Not a heavenly bed at all. I remember what those beds are like and this was not it. It felt like a thin mattress. The carpet had large stains in a couple of areas.
The place was nice and weather was beautiful. Hotel room was spacious and clean. The view was wonderful and we didn't turn on the TV once because of the view and watching the cruise ships leave the harbor. Who doesn't have coffee downstairs?
Clean with the usual Westin standard amenities. The staff was mediocre at best, making you feel unimportant. This was a festival weekend but they allowed themselves to be lazy instead of working extra hard to please the customer. No attempt to accommodate room requests. Seemed like they hired temps from the holiday inn or something.
The lobby and rooms were nicely appointed. Probably one of the nicer lobbies I've seen - really pleasant to just hang out in. The echoes and slightly dim lighting of the hallways reminded me of elementary school and just didn't give me the luxury vibe. The lighting room also gives it a rather downbeat feeling. I think some bright sconce lighting in both halls and rooms would really give some much needed energy without compromising the historical gravity of the re-purposed courthouse.
Modern and beautiful rooms are spacious and staff is great
Old historic building with modern amenities. Short walk to the Riverwalk and great restaurants It was all good, must valet car which was understandable for the repurposed building
Loved the high ceilings and the fact they kept a lot of the details of the old use of the building. Great ambiance, food, bar. etc.
- The hotel is built into an old US courthouse, which is very pretty and well executed. It felt like a high-end boutique hotel. - The room was exceptionally clean, and the decor was nice and modern. - The location of the hotel was great. A quick ride or walk to anywhere downtown. - The price and value of the hotel relative to where it is, and what you get is pretty good. I felt this was the nicest hotel for the price. - The hotel was a bit difficult to navigate when first arriving. The entrance is around the Zack side, not on the Florida side that is advertised as actual address. Once we got our bearings it was better. - The hotel bar advertises a daily happy hour, however in practice the hotel bar was never open, nor was there any staff there. - The restaurant was good in theory, but execution was lacking. The egg breakfast I got tasted horrible and had to be sent back. The other food was pretty good, but the service was complete rubbish. - The hotel is a bit sparse and lifeless, and hotel staff were hard to find.
Great design. Looks very upscale. No parking. Must use meter to park on the street or pay for valet service. The faucet and shower handle were not installed properly and were loose.
It was a last minute plan to stay in downtown Tampa. This place was GREAT!! The staff were awesome, the rooms were very comfy and the amenities were pleasing. Parking was a little interesting as there is no onsite parking but because they offer 24 hour valet and your already downtown with lots to do, its not so bad.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. The gym is well equipped and the rooms are really big and very clean. Worth the money The location is not great but the hotel provides a free shuttle. the internet is quite expensive like $7 for 15 mins.
peace and quite the bathroom did not meet my expectation by a long shot
My wife and I are from the area. We were celebrating her birthday and my goal was to take her "away from it all" (duties as a mother, career woman, etc.) while not having to travel far. The hotel provided first-class amenities, scenic prime location, superb on-site dining, the latest extended check-out time we've ever experienced and the perfect romantic ambiance. The best part: We were 15 minutes from our front door! We were surprised that lit candles in the room weren't allowed. However, we understood. Also, no refrigerator to store items left over from the stellar meal at Aqua.
Very very good. I wish it stayed at a nice beach. Everything else was just perfect. It was not a swiming beach though they call it privat beach. Only jets.
I like Westin in general! But Tampa bay westin has nothing to like THIS SPECIFIC WESTIN IN TAMPA is the worst! I got there at 2:00 am being exhausted and they didn't even let me check in because my reservation was made the same night(after12)!!! They asked for more money since I booked it through kayak THEY DID NOT LIKE THAT AND WAS OBVIOUS WITH THE ATITUDE! The guy (MIKE WITH ARABIC ACCENT) said Too bad you booked it through kayak, it's a third party and we can't even match the price!! So you have to pay more now that you're here! Ended up leaving without getting my money back! I lost $128 and checked in at Hyatt instead! Horrible experience
It is comfortable, but room servace rather slow and the same with house keeping, recepcians are very gentle.
Location Even though when I booked the room I clearly stated 4 adults, when we checked in, they gave us a room with only one king size bed. When I complained, they said "sorry, we are all sold out, you should have specified you wanted 2 beds when you made the reservation". When I asked for 2 roll away beds, they said we could only have one due to fire code restrictions. Staff never really tried to help me - more of a tough luck attitude!
Good cost, friendly staff, relatively good location Sheets were dirty, no shower curtain
Price No cups for water or coffee. Safe was falling off the wall.
For the price, the room was very clean! A little noisey
This place looks like crack head live there. No towels or iron. The "free breakfast" is bread and cereal. The juice machine was broken. I thought days inn was a good family hotel. This place was horrible. Go somewhere else for a few bucks more. Everything
Room was clean and adequate. Overall I would rather not come back again. $50 deposit still waiting to be refunded. Did not feel safe at night. Room key did not work the 2nd night; staff acted like this happens all the time. A hotel employee and a guest got in a very loud verbal altercation outside one of the rooms. Also entering and exiting the hotel is difficult due to being right next to a highway interchange.
Roaches everywhere. I had to leave in the middle of the night a book a room with a nicer hotel because of roaches crawling on everything. This place stinks. I did not like how there were roaches fucking everywhere.
Nothing about the stay was pleasurable I rented this room for an employee of mine and his mother and there were nothing but roaches on the walls on the blankets, in the beds, under the counter edges, in the sinks, on the floor and more. It was disturbing and very embarrassing. We have written an e-mail to management and are very disappointed in the experience. The health department needs to be notified because it is infested - not just a couple of FL roaches.
Cheap Everything about this place is out of date.. Gross and disgusting. Roaches on the walls. Rude staff .. Transferring to 4 different room when there wasn't a single person on the property. Crackheads and prosit ours stay here and their pimps stay out front at night. Horrible part of town and a waste of money
Probably the worst I've ever seen. A dead roach on the floor upon walking in. Felt like I was in the slums. Literally found another hotel in the area (double the price-didn't care it was that bad) and checked out. Never had to sign a separate paper that I committed not doing drugs.
I didn't mind the soft bed, it was comfortable Did not enjoy baby roaches crawling up the wall, missing light bulbs or inability to reach the front desk by the room phone.
Location was the best feature overall. Room was clean and housekeeping checked in daily. On arrival we were checked into a room with someone already in it, when we opened the door it was embarassing to find someone in their private moment. Front Desk apologized and gave us another room, from there onward it was good.
I liked absolutely nothing I didnt like anything
The customer service at this location is really outstanding. Very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean enough, the bed was comfortable and clean, but the carpets could use a wash as they felt a bit dirty under bare feet. The main complaint we had was due to a smell that kept increasing over our 3 nights stay. We think it must have been coming from the toilet or the shower drain. We thought to ask the front desk about checking it out but decided to deal with it thinking it would fade. It didn't. But overall we had a nice experience. Dirty carpet, smell
Found a USED feminine product in the bathtub AFTER I took a bath in it. It didn't belong to me!! Didn't even see/notice it. The manager was rude and highly unprofessional when I called to complain. I came to the front desk and could see how nasty she was to another guest while explaining their bill. I left and called corporate guest relations to file my complaint. Its been more than 24 hours and not a peep and certainly not a refund. I am terrified I have contracted something from this disgusting hotel.
Nothing Everything. There were families living in this hotel, people smoking drugs in the parking lot, very very unsafe environment.
Very comfortable bed. Clean room. Loved the pool area. Out of date bathroom, old and dirty looking but not. Did not like location of room but everything else was very nice.
Quiet, clean room with comfortable bed. Maid service left the pillows, radio and furniture were I placed them, rather than resetting everything to their "proper" places. There was an open, easily accessible electric outlet next to the bedside table for plugging in a phone charger without having to dig around behind the bed. Bathroom shower grab bar was corroded at bottom, leaving rust stains and metal flakes on washcloth hung there. Free breakfast did not have any "grab and go" items, like muffins or pasteries. They had cold cereal and a full cooked to order line, but nothing for those of us who were running late for our morning meetings. (This was a business trip, so I was on a tight schedule.)
1st floor room, I forgot to ask for 2nd floor
Locations to medical center excellent. Walking distance to numerous restaurants, grocery store, etc. Microwave and mini-refrigerator in room. Housekeeping staff helpful and friendly when you need towels, etc. Dated, dingy, shabby. Toilet not bolted down. Extremely noisy. Furnishings seemed from 1980s and looked that worn.
Well kept facility and the staff was kind and attentive
I liked the breakfast in the morning. The servers always had a smile and a good morning when you walked in. The access the pool was very open and we had people coming in off the streets asking to use our wristbands for access. We told the front desk and they asked them to leave but we were put in a spot when they were brought up to us and was asked to identify them. Also a large problem with unattended children in the pool. I told a security guard about it and he just told the kids to go get their parents. He never took any real action until the group started yelling at each other and said the were going back to their room to get a razor to "slice and dice your pretty little face". He then took them to their room and they didn't return that day.. I really feel that a pool monitor is needed during pool hours to make it a more pleasurable experience.
Clean Room Friendly Staff The property and buildings are old and in need of updates. The room was clean and had been mostly updated but you have to get over the appearance of the outside first, which almost prevented me from wanting to open the door to the room.
The pool and courtyard area are very nice with healthy plants and decor. Breakfast was decent too. The common areas of the hotel are very tired and in need of a complete face-lift. These areas were almost what would be considered "dirty". Our room was decent but the bathroom was marginal. Very close to the USF and Busch Gardens. I'm sure when this place was built it was really something- but it is far from anything special now. Staff were nice and friendly.
We liked how clean the rooms were, the big pool (even though we did not get to spend much time there), and the fact that the rooms have fridges and microwaves! We also enjoyed the complementary breakfast buffet! The front staff was also very friendly! There was not much to complain about. There was just one instance where one of the younger staff members at the breakfast buffet seemed a bit rude and it seemed she just didn't want to be there. But other than that, the other staff was very nice.
The woman who checked us in didn't seem to know what she was doing, but tried acting like she did. She charged our card for $489. When I told her we booked the room for $299 she said, "whatever I have on my computer is what you booked it for". I had to go back later that evening to have someone else adjust it. He was very friendly and saw that it was their mistake within seconds.
Excellent location and friendly staff. Well maintained facility and very nice rooms. Embassy Suites offers good value for our money and we recommend them highly. This hotel has great views of the channel and river. The river walk was super and lots of entertainment and good restaurants nearby. Only issue was a peculiar rumbling noise when we showered. Seemed like the hot water heater/ plumbing was struggling although we had no problem.
great location, we went to the hockey game...couldn't have stayed closer!! it was perfect pillows were awful, room near elevator very noisy all night long could hear elevators
Very bad customer service. Reserved a room with king bed and got one with 2 full beds instead. I paid extra for the one king bed. Nothing they can do.
The Valet staff was professional and very good. The suite was a good size. There was a complimentary breakfast in the morning. I was completely unimpressed with the hotel. The suite was clean but a hodgepodge of stuff. The furniture in the suite was to big, very hard and uncomfortable, it was like you where sitting on 2x4's. The layout of the furniture in the suite and the suite itself was not well thought out. It was like the pieces of furniture where left overs and just thrown in the suite. The work table was severely lopsided and wobbly, the internet wire was broken. The shower curtain was installed so poorly that it actually hung on you as you took a shower and kept sliding open as it was not level at all. I stayed in this hotel expecting a room with some kind of semi nice water view, which only existed via a not very practical side window in the bedroom. The suite was not comfortable in any way.
It was so great to be able to walk to the tcc, the Forum and even Channelside wasn't that far. The free happy hour is nice if you don't mind waiting in line. The nightclub Jackson's Bistro played their music sooooo loud and it kept me up til past 2am! It sounded like a street parade with people banging on drums outside my windows. The bass drum was ridiculous. Not even pillows over my head helped. I was very mad because I had to wake up at 4:30am for my flight. I did not like that there was no option to self-park either and that it was $20 per night to park the car. Lame!
Great service great location great hospitality clean Elevators
very spacious and comfortable suite rug was a bit dirty
Proximity to everything.
Wouldn't allow me to cancel my stay even though they were contacted 3 weeks before hand.
Great location since I was taking a flight early the next morning. Spent 20 minutes trying to find my reservation. Also, they charged me for parking, even though I didn't have a car. Had to have that charge removed from my bill as I was hurrying to make a flight.
Located right in the lobby of the airport. You arrive from your gate to the hotel lobby in 10 minutes. Staff incredibly helpful. Hats off to Nadine for helping us plan activities during our day off, and to Cheryl and Luz in the Concierge Lounge for making us feel so welcome and having treats for us. The restaurant and room service offerings were delicious. I have been to this hotel a few times, and am never disappointed and will come back again. Wish the hotel had a designated Concierge to help us make plans in the vicinity. Hated to bother the front desk staff while other guests were waiting to check in and out, but had no choice.
HAVING TO PAY FOR PARKING WHILE i WAS A GUEST STAYING IN THE HOTEL. ONE OF THE MAIN THEMES OF THE HOTEL IS FOOD BASED AND WHEN WE ATE THERE THE FOOD WASN'T UP TO PAR WITH THE PRICES WE PAID. THE BAR WAS SUPER NOISY. WHEN I MADE A SUGGESTION WITH THE CLEAR AT THE FRONT COUNTER SHE GOT ARGUMENTATIVE WITH ME.
Decor Roof top bar closed on Sunday of holiday weekend.
