We arrived late and were pleased to be able to have a meal at 22.30. Lovely rural location, clean modern hotel. Difficult to find it, had to ask locals for directions.
An amazing experience in the uttermost roughness of Spain. All staff was very welcoming and responsible. a true lost jewl... ... being lost the problem. If you are not a thermal spa afficionado there are good choices closer than this, specially in chaves. And the minute tv was not working properly. Another complaint is the fact that for BOOKING.com packages there aren't breakfast-included ones.
Excellent Parador, outstanding location. ---------------------------------------
Whilst the hotel was lovely and its position particularly impressive we were disappointed as we were not able to use the main facility attraction - the pool - as it was raining! The dinner was very disappointing.
Location was fantastic....services were excellent, and the feel of history was also great. Not really...thoroughly emjoyed our stay.
The location in an old monastery was excellent We decided to eat in the restaurant of the hotel and did not much like the hurriedness and lack of enthusiasm of the serving staff. The dinner experience was not what it should have been.
Wonderful hilltop location, excellent food; rooms comfortable (we were in the modern extension near the swimming pool). We didn't use the pool but enjoyed the grounds The receptionist seemed a little harassed; the garden beyond the swimming pool was overgrown and neglected (but still had much charm)
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, not much to do in the area/town. No outside eating/drinking areas.
The site is impressive and bedrooms of the usual high standard, but allowing for it's Grade 2 status we found this Parador a little gloomy, with the cloisters fully enclosed with glazing. It would have been nice if seating & refreshments were available outside in the summer. Well situated for touring the area. On arrival our reservation could not be found. Not a good start when arriving at 2100 hours. Thankfully they had space and we had taken our full booking.com reference with us. The adjoining chapel was undergoing repairs and the ground beyond the swimming pool area were unkempt.
The Inn was a little difficult to find, but once there a very pleasant place to stay. They have a nice patio and quite attractive gardens although our room had a back-of-hotel view over a neighbourhood of badly maintained houses and sheds. Our room was very acceptable and the dining room was rustically charming with a varied menu. We believe it could offer better signage as at first we thought that the derelict house at the intersection was the property. Thankfully, that wasn't so and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the inn.
Nice comfortable rooms Breakfast. No early breakfast available - well before 09h00!
Relaxing atmosphere, lovely flower garden, comfortable room, friendly staff even if we didn't speak each other's langauge
