9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for 3 nights 5th to the 8th of August en route to Italy. Julie and Oliver were excellent hosts, very welcoming, helpful and spoke very good English. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was very good with a selection of local produce. Loved the home made crepes.
Cons: Everything was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great with local ingredients.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing high quality family run guest house. I would recommend this accommodation for a romantic break
Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best accomodation we had in France so far. The owners were very welcoming and recommended to us a lot of sights nearby, so we did not have to do our own research. For breakfast we had a range of local traditional French foods, which was very nice to experience. The entire hotel is located in a traditional country house, but reconstructed and nicely equipped to modern design standards.
Cons: Cannot think of anything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean quiet rooms
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything was perfect. The place is very quiet and brandnew, the rooms are spacious and stylish, we loved the comfortable bed. The owners are extremely nice and caring. You should visit Château-Chalon and Baume-des-Messieurs (town and waterfalls!), it’s just some minutes from there. We are looking forward to our next stay there.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located close to the highway. Super comfortable beds, beautifully decorated. We had a great dinner as well, all prepared by the owners. I can definitely recommend this property!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful host Olivier, who even brushed the snow off of our car in the morning! Bed and room very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was lovely and the building itself was very stylishly decorated. I would happily stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were absolutely friendly and relaxed taking the time to tell us a little bit about the history of the place, answering all the questions we had. Breakfast was great, consisting of only regional products, the coffee was delicious as it was brewed in a French press. We liked the spacious room with a bed long enough for tall people. The bathroom was big as well with a shower in which you could walk. We appreciated the fact that the bathroom offered two sinks. We enjoyed the coffee and tea making facility in our room and the stunning view onto the park-like garden and the swimming pool. As we came by car, we appreciated ample parking space on private grounds. It was a cold day so we were happy about a modern heating system, working very well. The building built in 1749 offered an unusual mixture between old times and modernity as can be seen in different pieces of modern art decorating walls and corners of the house.
Cons: When there are some people having breakfast at the same time, it gets terribly noisy as the walls echo the voices.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just fabulous! A clean and spacious bedroom and bathroom, gorgious breakfast, very friendly host and hostess, swimming pool and jacuzzi, good location to visit the neighbouring villages and places of interest. Very good value for money!
Cons: Nothing negative to say.
6.8 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast room was cramped and uninviting - the owner has a large separate dining table dedicated only to private dinners which would be much more suitable for a proper breakfast buffet. The room (Rubis) has no door on the bathroom so no standard privacy for the toilet, and is served by dangerous open steps from the room with rope handrail! There is no door on the shower, so bathroom floods are inevitable. No parking available for overnight guests. Certainly would not recommend for older customers. Too much emphasis on swimming pool and inadequate attention to basic detail. Perhaps owner trying to do too much? - B&B, dining, swimming, wine sales etc?
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Veronique and Robert are consummate hosts. Their property is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. They provided a delicious breakfast. They shared information about their community with us, and encouraged us to explore. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone.
Cons: Nothing. We liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Veronique and Robert have us a lovely warm welcome after a long snowy drive. We had booked a meal with them and that was ready and waiting. They were super hosts and provided us with a delicious meal complete with aperitifs and wine. The beds were lovely and comfy, the shower warm and the rooms beautifully decorated. Breakfast in the morning was phenomenal with amazingly flaky pastries, fresh bread, local organic ham, regional cheeses, homemade preserves and lovely coffee. We would thoroughly recommend it for a stopover or even better, several nights!
Cons: The fact we only had one night there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Veronique and Robert were very friendly and helpful hosts. Their lovely house is in a beautiful location amongst the village vineyards. The breakfasts were delicious and served in their sunny garden.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Veronique and Robert are excellent hosts - welcoming and friendly; superb breakfast, coffee and residence. The location is very quiet country - surrounded by vineyards. The restaurants are easily reached by car. Hotel Fontaine has a great restaurant! It was kindly booked for us by Robert.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A gem of a B&B in beautiful French countryside. Like several other reviewers, we were only stopping a single night on the way back to the UK. But I would thoroughly recommend staying longer. The hosts are welcoming, multi-lingual and great company. They have encyclopedic knowledge of the area and were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Miro the Basenji was lovely too.
Cons: Just the fact we were staying only one night...

Pros: We loved absolutely everything. Anne- Marie & Andre were two of the lovest people , they are warm and welcoming and really went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience possible. Breakfast was a fantastic spread of all local ingredients accompanied by house made items. The rooms are generous in size and very comfortable having everything you could need ! Plus the location on top of the hill has an amazing view and close to all the little shops and restaurants in the town. We couldn't of ask for any better and we left wishing we could stay for longer .It really was a beautiful stay and you can just tell the love and care Anne -Marie has for looking after people, we felt like we were at home and their hospitality went above and beyond - if we are in Jura , there is no where else we could ever stay again . Merci , Merci !!!!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful owners. Beautiful property. Magnificent location and views. Gourmet breakfast prepared with locally sourced produce.
Cons: Would prefer to keep property key sothat one can return for a siesta and not be limited to the 5pm curfew.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location, lovely host. All perfect!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and overlooked beautiful valleys. The breakfast was prepared by the owner who lives in the home, it was delicious and made up of locally sourced food. One of the best on our trip.
Cons: There is no restaurant open in town on Monday nights, so you have to drive down the hill to another town. However, many of those were also closed on Monday. Would be nice to know that there are no restaurants open before arriving so you could plan accordingly.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We felt very welcome at this extraordinary place. The owners are genuinely nice and helpful, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean and with a beautiful view over the plains around Château-Chalon. This was a very special experience and we highly recommend Le Relais des Abesses!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Tastefully and beautifully renovated old farmhouse with lovely artworks and furnishings. Marie and Andre have a wonderful home which they welcome you into with open arms. Everything is truly spotless and well cared for. The village is astoundingly pretty and there are two restaurants a few steps away. The restaurant with the amazing terrace - views to die for - was excellent and there is another two doors down. Breakfast is taken at a communal table where you have a chance to meet other guests of all nationalities which was an unexpected delight. We would love to return and explore the region as one night was certainly not enough and would not hesitate to stay here again.
Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities in the room often seems to be standard on the continent and only water from the tap to drink. This therefore is not a criticism of this establishment. In the amazing heat we were joyfully experiencing however we wished we had stopped somewhere on the way to purchase some drinks to have in the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous helpful hosts. Spectacular view. historic building.. Lovely breakfast with home made bread.
Cons: Having to drive to another village for dinner as all restaurants in Chateau Chalon closed at the beginning of the week.

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hill top town in the Guardian travel review top 10 villages in France, slightly whacky decoration (plastic grass table mats) lovely white room with very comfortable bed, excellent views, nice shower room and loo. Very good breakfast, easy, free, sheltered parking on site, good restaurant very close, even on Sunday
Cons: need to pay cash or cheque, but the owner does say that clearly in advance could do with a comfy chair in the room to take in the views, but there were two chairs
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Odile is a very lovely host that is very tentative to you having a great stay. The room was lovely with a great view and the breakfast was really nice. Everything was absolutely great! We would love to come back.
Cons: Because of the recent heatwawe the room was quite warm. A fan would have helped. Though it was possible to open the windows which helped a lot!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location at the northern side of the village. Good breakfast. Very nice owner. Nice garden, where you can picnic. Comfortable bed.
Cons: No A/C (we knew this beforehand), room was a bit small. WIFI very slow. Cellular coverage was spotty (this is not under the hotel’s control of course, but it could have been an alternative to WIFI).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay, and loved the hotel, the host and the city.
Cons: The only problem in Chateau Chalon is getting food. We were there in medio June. There are three restaurants there, and they were all closed the two first days. So we ended up driving around a lot, searching for food. Luckily the host could help us with recommendations.

Pros: Lovely owners who were very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable room with good quality furnishings/linens etc. First class dinner in the restaurant. Good breakfast. Easy to park the car.
Cons: Shower tray did not have non-slip surface and nowhere to put your shower gel or shampoo etc other than on the floor (never understand why so many hotels - even very good ones like Maison Zugno - do not have shower facilities designed to provide this)

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room and charming property. The inn director Elise was so helpful and kind and prepared a delicious breakfast every morning. Would love to return to this unique inn.
Cons: It was no problem for us because the temperature drops considerably at night but I can imagine the room may have been uncomfortable during the heatwave that was set to hit after we left, as there is no air conditioning. But as long as a traveler is used to it if they will be fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful, Arbois is a beautiful place. The lady who runs this place is very kind en helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay. The hostess Elise, was an absolute darling and gave us a wonderfully warm welcome. The restaurant I had booked had no record of my online reservation so she immediately swung into action and booked us into another restaurant that was much nearer. She served us a lovely breakfast including freshly squeezed juice, fruits, cheese, ham, a boiled egg for my husband, good bread and preserves. Our room was peaceful and the bed extremely comfortable. The water pressure was great. Everything was immaculately clean. We should have liked to stay a second night. One night was not enough! Elise also guided us the following day as to where to go to taste some of the finest Arbois wine. Thank you Elise for making our stay so special.
Cons: There isn't any parking available at the property and my husband was a little anxious about this. As you turn into the road the building is on the left hand side. I don't know why we didn't spot it, so we had to go round again! When we phoned for more precise directions, Elise was waving us in outside. I think we were just tired after a long day travelling. We pulled in, off loaded and my husband went off to park the car. He was chuffed to find a space in the same street.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely village and the locals were so friendly. The room was lovely but would have liked the one I thought I booked.
Cons: Needs aircon it was very hot even with the fan.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great character Nice village setting. Good location for restaurants.
Cons: Parking on road and large carpark 50 metres away. Room on 2 floor no lift and hike for us and dog. But great view village and roof terrace
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a suite of two rooms with a shared sitting room. Marvellous décor - chandelier, brocade, period painted furniture and rococo soft furnishings. Amazing bathroom. The presentation and size of the rooms were impeccable. Breakfast in a lovely room was delicious and ample - very high standard bread, cheese and cold cuts, you also get eggs cooked to order. Our hostess was welcoming and knowledgable, would recommend Arbois as a stop between the Jura and Burgundy, staying at the Closerie of course.
Overview Reviews
Located in Toulouse-le-Château, Le D'Tour Gourmand Chambres de Caractère is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Maison du Comte and Poligny Church of St-Hippolyte. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice family room, good, adequate breakfast. Pretty village up the hill.
Cons: Selected the hotel (and the area) based on there being an outdoor jacuzzi and an indoor swimming pool for the children. The Jacuzzi is closed in winter (could be clearer on the webpage) and the pool heating had broken. Also spent the only two nights when the restaurant was closed (Wed & Thurs)... so a bit of bad luck meant we couldn't benefit from all the best bits of the place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luxury setting, high standard, lovely facilities especially bath and shower. Great location near motorway for our journey home
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host was very friendly and welcoming. The place is situated in a tiny hamlet off the beaten track, but still convenient for the motorway. A good place to unwind after a day's travelling. The indoor pool was very appealing, though we never actually got to use it. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was generous and with a variety of delicious foods, including homemade pastries and yoghurt.
Cons: We booked the accommodation on the basis that the 'entire unit is wheelchair accessible'. However, the kitchen and dining facilities were in a separate location and upstairs, which meant they were inaccessible to my disabled wife. We therefore had to ignore the instructions not to eat food in the bedroom. There was also no grab rail in the shower. Everything seemed shut when we arrived and it was not immediately obvious what we were meant to do. There was an instruction in French on a blackboard to phone the host's mobile, but it was unclear whether that was intended for overnight guests or for the restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and lovely restaurant on site. Brilliant location near autoroute for overnight stop off on way back to Calais.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was well placed and a beautiful place to spend a night! It felt very luxurious
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room directly next to the entrance: perfect to easily go out and walk our dog. Room very much spacious. Big loo and big shower since the room is meant for disabled. We had a marvellous dinner by the restaurant...one of those unexpected places hidden in a tiny village (Fangy). Perfect hideaway from where to explore La Jura :-)
Cons: We stayed 3 nights and we just noticed that our room has never been tidied up during the stay. Not a problem for us. Just a consideration ;-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little hotel with an excellent gourmet restaurant attached. Lovely regional French cuisine, and the kids' meals were of a very high standard. The hotel has been recently refurbished to a high standard, with lots of facilities. This exceeded our expectations in every way. And it was a reasonable price.
Cons: My expectations were exceeded. The pool was marked, though this was being treated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property in a lovely location. Very well maintained and furnished. Staff very welcoming and helpful. In-house restaurant superb. This is a place to go out of your way to visit!
Cons: Everything excellent. No complaints. No suggestions for improvement.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The family room had a brilliant snug area with a double bed for the kids which they thought was great, overall very clean and tidy. Super location.
Cons: Forgot to book the restaurant so had to find somewhere else which wasn’t great, also we have all ended up with bad tummies from the external restaurant. Would have much preferred being offered to book here when we stayed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and included in the price. I should have reserved a table for dinner but forgot and I'm sure that would have been fantastic too.
Cons: The leaking air conditioning units at the back where you entered the accommodation was not good. There was no actual Reception, so we actually walked into someone's room while they were resting by mistake!

Pros: Good location for visiting the Jura region and the wine region of Jura. Room was well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was fine, but lacked a choice of cereal or muesli/granola. A choice of tea's in the room would have been helpful rather than just herbal tea's. Host was friendly and helpful. Overall the accommodation was fine and would recommend to other travellers.

Cons: The menu was a little misleading..... it implies that the gastronomic menu (62 euros per person) includes a glass of wine with each course. The wine is actually an additional charge of 36 Euros per person! So the actual cost for two persons is 196 Euros. Very good meal, but expensive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely family run hotel! Our second visit. Exceptional food and wine! The room was beautiful and very well equipped, would like to return!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent 6 course dinner with matching wines for a very reasonable price. Friendly staff, well placed in Arbois, working air conditioning in the room (not always the case!)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is pure class. Fantastic. Extreme hood quality and service and not expensive. I will drive several kilometres for this restaurant

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice cozy room with good air conditioning. Great breakfast. Very kind reception desk.
Cons: The check-in time closed quite early so we had to hurry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High quality hotel in center of town yet secluded. River running through the grounds . Extremely helpful and friendly staff made our stay a real pleasure. Great rooms with aircon. Nice little bar for drinks. Secure parking too, great for motorcycles. Would highly recommend
Cons: Nothing bad at this hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice, comfortable bed, well cleaned every day. Breakfast variety small, but ok for me. The restaurant is very good, but upscale and pricey. The sitting is medium to long. If you don't reserve you can only order a la carte, or so I understood. Sidenote: not a single restaurant in the town opens before 7:30pm. Overall i had an comfortable stay and would recommend.
Cons: Restaurant is closed Monday/Tuesday so front door and reception close at 7:30pm. You can still leave and enter through a side tower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Secure parking. Large bathroom with separate toilet. Comfortable beds. Bar and restaurant on premises. Excellent dinner.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We booked a superior room which was spacious, comfortable and clean. The excellent service (calm, friendly, patient owners & staff) made our stay memorable and worth returning for in the future. We enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant very much.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The overall atmosphere, in a family run business. The food was excellent and the wine pairing interesting. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and seemed recently renovated. Very nice and clean bathroom.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like. A couple of minor things could be improved such as offering help with the luggage as there is no lift or the fact that the reception staff sent us to the tourist office which happened to be closed in the afternoons.

Pros: The bed in room 1 was not comfortable it felt like it was on a slope.
Cons: A more inviting bar would have been an asset
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Reception was NOT speaking English
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is superb, the views excellent. The room was very large and the shower brilliant, which after a day on a motorcycle is much appreciated.
Cons: The room was very hot, I'm surprised that a traditional French property such as this doesn't have shutters, this would aid in keeping the room cool and also to keep out the hoards of wasps that kept coming in. Also there's the smell, which has been mentioned in other reviews, it's a kind of strong 'fishy' smell that permeates the Hotel. Lastly and this for some may not be a criticism but it was an issue for us. If you don't have a sophisticated palate this is not the hotel for you, we found that there was nothing plain on the menu that we liked, we did try the one of the fixed menu's but found it too rich. So basically we raided the mini bar for Pringles!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting, close to waterfall was very nice. The staff were excellent and the food good. Room a good size, as was the shower.
Cons: No air con but I suspect it’s not often needed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay in beautiful Arbois, lovely Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating, hope to return later this year.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is conveniently located near the square, museums and churches. Parking was directly across the street and easy. The hostess was friendly and extremely helpful, giving us tips for what to see and where to eat. She even gave us the choice of 3 rooms. Because my husband had injured his knee, she carried my luggage upstairs so he wouldn't have to do it, and offered to carry our luggage down the next day. When, at checkout, she realized our booking had mistakenly been for just one person, I offered to pay the difference but she gave us the discounted rate. Breakfast was typical for French hotels. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would choose this hotel again.
Cons: We liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had first stayed here many years ago when our children were small and loved the hotel and the warm welcome. We were delighted to find that it hadn't changed much at all apart from having a new owner who is absolutely delightful - warm, friendly and engaging and really helpful. We were upgraded into a superior room which was nice and the owner had redecorated it in a 1950s style which we really liked. The breakfast was very generous and delicious and it is nice to hang out in the bar area too. We'll definitely return!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A typical French small town hotel, 100 meters from the central square of Arbois. Room with window which opened onto the busy street, with a nice virtually noise free ceiling fan. Very helpful staff, who pointed us to one excellent restaurant for lunch (Bistronome). Spacious bathroom.
Cons: Breakfast is OK, but everything is self service, with no staff present to provide coffee or tea. The rooms opening onto the street are noisy if one wants to receive some fresh air.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly slightly quirky hotel. Excellent location and extremely helpful staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marie, the owner, was very welcoming. She made us feel at home on our visit to Arbois. Her recommendations on where to dine and places to visit were excellent. She also speaks several languages fluently.
Cons: Our stay was great. I would not change anything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming and excellent receptionist Easy to use shower. Good value breakfast Good choice of beers

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting, friendly and efficient staff.
Cons: Bacon to go with tha scrambled eggs at breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a lovely quiet situation amongst the vines with a popular restaurant and lots of parking. Our poolside terrace room was freshly decorated with a new shower room. As it was April the pool was not open. Helpful staff. Good WiFi.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable modern hotel in quiet location. Staff friendly and helpful, especially good with 11-year-old. The pool was clean and well-equipped with loungers and umbrellas - a big plus for the family in the current heatwave. Food excellent.
7.5 Good
Pros: Reception staff friendly, pleasant room with good outlook
Cons: As a single elderly female I was overlooked in the restaurant. Waiting staff looked through me, even when they were not busy. I waited to be seated, I waited so long to order I nearly walked out. I waited a long time between courses. The steak was very tough even though it was the most expensive item on the menu. Half went to my dog.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bedroom was very roomy and clean. Host was very nice and stayed up late to accommodate our late arrival!
Cons: While we appreciated the home-made breakfast, we personally found the jam flavours a bit too exotic and would have appreciated a « regular » flavour (strawberry, apricot)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and interesting accommodation in a tranquil spot in the countryside. Warm, interesting and helpful hosts, happy to chat about the area and provide restaurant tips (plenty of restaurants just a short drive away). Trouble free parking. The best continental breakfast I have come across - just wonderful!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with balcony in a historic building in a village in the Jura; handy to Arbois; firendly helpful proprietors; nice breakfast. Good for overnight stop, relatively easy access to autoroute.
Cons: Minor drawback was that the property is not accessible before 18.00.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was a beautiful converted barn with lots of character. The bed room and shower were very spacious, again with lots of character.
Cons: In the bedroom there was an electric kettle, mugs and flavoured tea. No English breakfast tea or powdered milk, which would have been useful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and quiet setting. Beds a bit hard but room was excellent as was the breakfast with home made jam.
Cons: Hard bed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quaint
Cons: The location is lovely but as no evening meal offered we had to go into town to eat. No one there until 6pm which is not ideal. Room very hot, no fans or a/c,difficult to sleep.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room and the bathroom were of a good size but the bathroom door did not close. The breakfast was lovely with fresh crusty bread and home made yogurt. The house has many rustic decorations and interesting points. There are toys for children and nice seating in the garden for lounging under the shade of trees.
Cons: When we arrived we were met by the lady of the house who showed us to our room in the loft area. She seemed a little off hand but we put this down to the heat. It was stiflingly hot and as it had no air conditioning we asked if she could provide a fan. She said no. The South of France is always hot at this time of year and we were surprised to find that a fan was not provided as you are unable to have the shutters open due to mosquitoes. This is the only place that we have not had air conditioning or a fan in a hot country. As in previous reviews of this property we thought that maybe the language barrier may have been a reason for her manner but the next morning she seemed to understand English better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An old farm barn converted into modern and very comfortable house, yet retaining its character. Excellent interior décor, comfortable beds, oversize modern bathroom with excellent shower. Peace and tranquility of rural surroundings. Excellent petit déjeuner.

Pros: We were very warmly welcomed to this charming place with only ten rooms. With its lush garden, pool facilities, and, not to forget, excellent dining - this is an ideal choice, either as a base for exploring the Jura area over many days, or as in our case, just a relaxing stop-over. Hosts recommended for us places to see and places to buy wine. The Jura white wines are particularly interesting and really worth exploring.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool and large grounds. The property has recently be taken over by an enthusiastic young couple who have a lot of ideas to transform the property.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel on the country side. Very nice atmosphere, and super friendly staff. 2 swimming pools: inside (heated) and outside. Lot of activities in the region. Highly recommended
Cons: nothing :D
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was good the en suite facilities were modern. We used the restaurant and the food was good for both breakfast and dinner. The location was ideal as it was on the route we were travelling. A good overnight stop. The staff were attentive and helpful.
Cons: First impressions on driving up. The place looked deserted but once inside everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt very well taken care of. The leadership of the hotel understands how to strike the correct balance between being helpful and available on one hand yet not being intrusive on the other. The music was perfect, the food delicious, and the room well appointed. We will come back when we next have a chance!
Cons: The weather
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting country manor setting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location was perfect. Just off a main road but away from the noise. Lovely gardens and sheltered terraces. Good swimming pool. Nothing was too much trouble for the new owner - she put our freezer packs in her freezer every night and gave us ice for our water bottles before setting out every day. The room was spotlessly clean. Good English spoken. Good breakfast. Good restaurant.
Cons: The food was fabulous but the menu was slightly limited if you were staying here for longer than a couple of days
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners were kind and always ready to help. Liked the rooms, comfortable beds, nice and clean designs - liked the surroundings.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Our room was tiny ( no shower room door...) tattily furnished ( curtain fell off), hot ( it was a heatwave but no fan until we asked for it) and loud ( trucks rolling by outside the window all night. The public spaces were very shabby as well as confused and the outdoor areas unkempt. In addition The host was rude and I believe quite inexperienced. But worst of all was the stiffly high price we had to pay for such terrible accommodation. In essense, the view on the internet was not close to being a true picture of the hotel. And I feel aggrieved that the owners are allowed to get away with false advertising. When I asked about the price I was told it was A: because of the 2 swimming pools and B. That is the going rate around here. I don’t believe that to be be the case. Indeed, the previous night we were in a 4 Star hotel in a very beautiful town nearby and was half the cost. I would not recommend this hotel
