We booked this friend to stay overnight as our friends were having their wedding at The Ballroom in Park Plaza. Thank god the wedding was good, because that was the only good thing about this hotel!! As we were part of the bridal group we contacted the hotel months, weeks and even the day before check in to request an early check in, that never happened!! As an apology because our hair and make up artist was standing in reception, we were only upgraded for 2 of the 4 rooms. During and after the wedding, we got stuck in the lift (which was already broken but not decommissioned) no apology from the evening staff and no acknowledgement of their errors, rather I am told "I am done talking to you". After our party having spent tens and thousands of pounds, this is the treatment we received. No compensation and no complimentary offers to any of us.
Location was great, and they upgraded us up when we got there. Room was very spacious & clean. In addition, they had gluten free breakfast options. Walls were not flush in one place in our rooms, which made it too easy to hear our neighbors in the early hours... (meaning there was a space between the walls.)
Bathtub was awesome. They had outlets for US plugs too.
Breakfasts were fantastic and location was excellent!
Great location. The lighting system requires a sense of humor. It is very easy to mistakingly turn out the lights on someone in a different room. You may want to bring a flashlight
The location was superb. Rooms were comfortable. pricing was very fair bar was a bit loud at night due to music. prices are, well, London i.e. a bit high.

The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the center of London, walking distance to the London Eye, Westminster Abbey and Big Ben of Parliament building. We really loved the breakfast.
The hotel was exactly as I thought it would be based on all the excellent reviews written online. It is located close to all the tourist attractions and the subway is nearby to take you to wherever your heart desires. There is good food and entertainment at the hotel if you want to stay in. So go ahead...book this hotel...you won't be disappointed!

I liked the location, and the clean, bright room that had good bathroom space and a reasonable work surface. Similarly priced rooms in London are often very cramped and/or quite worn down. a really nice (and necessary, in our case) feature of the room is the sliding solid wood shutters that completely seal off outside light. This was my third or fourth stay at the sph. The weatherstripping around the windows was completely shot and ineffective, so if we had the shutters open, a powerful draft whipped through the room. There was a cold snap in London at the time, so the result was that we couldn't open the shutters and curtains to enjoy daylight. Also, as our room was over The Strand, it was very noisy at night. However, I would definitely stay again

This is the best location in London, steps from Covent Garden, an easy walk across the Waterloo Bridge, convenient to theaters. Thanks to recent renovations, rooms are contemporary and comfortable; staff is friendly and helpful. I have been staying here off and on for more than 25 years! The food continues to be marginal at best, and not a good value for the money. Fortunately, there are many good and reasonably-priced restaurants nearby.
This hotel is in the heart of London. If you stay here you are close to everything. I was only in London for 2 days and wanted a Hotel that I would spend minimal time on travel getting to London's main attractions. If you are on a budget this hotel is one of the best available. If is a bit dated but I was in London to see the sights so I did not need my hotel to be state of the art. If you are traveling in the summer be aware that this hotel has no air conditioning. At least the room I stayed in had none.

The hotel was centrally located right near the Waterloo bridge, literally just steps away from the London Eye. Also conveniently located near the Covent Garden tube stop, making it very easy to travel between places throughout London and still be close to the hotel to recover. The room was nice, smaller than expected but still met my stay needs. Complementary prosecco wine and money to use at their restaurants is a bonus if booked directly with them. Take the £12 breakfast when you check in. It gets expensive if you feel like having breakfast at the hotel for several days at a time. The cost will cover you for your whole stay.
Great location, easy check-in. Bar selection limited and drinks overpriced. Bellman also inflated cost of Healthrow Express and cab to Paddington Station in an effort to sell car service to Heathrow.

I can't say enough about our experience at the Mondrian. The only disappointment was one of the concierges seemed inexperienced. She booked us at a very mediocre tea service at a restaurant in London.

It's location, the size of the room and its design. Good staff too, concierge staff was very nice and useful. However, the bar staff was terrible, took forever to get any service and they did not take orders properly. Only negative of the hotel really.
I thought the hotel was beautiful. The design of the building was very impressive. I found the staff very helpful and informative. I had a very relaxed weekend away at Grange St Pauls and thought the location was perfect as it was just round the corner from the tube with only 2 stops to Oxford Circus. I think there should be swimming costumes available to buy at the spa.
The new look, contemporary design and rooms are furnished immaculately and easily one of the best rooms I have stayed at in London. I recommend contacting Guest Relations (Simonetta in particular - who is simply one of the most professional and courteous people I have ever met)prior to arrival so they can ensure an enjoyable stay. They ensure all your needs are met prior to check in.
Everything about Grange St. Paul's contributes to a premium hospitality experience. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay there again and again.

The location of hotel was excellent, just a short walk from St Paul's Station. The facillities at the hotel paricularly the swimming pool/spa were fantastic, we just wished we could have stayed longer.
My room was probably the quietest I have ever had in a city hotel. The position of the hotel is good for access to the river, the St Pauls/Tower Bridge tourist interests and comfortable walking distance from the city. Although not my favourite architectural style, the steel, glass and marble style of this hotel is well implemented. My room was well equipped with electronic gadgetry from contactless door card to Ipod dock and flat screen TV with good range of channels. The brilliantly illuminated advertising display that extended the full height of the 6 floor attrium seemed an odd feature and required two layers of curtain the shield the light from my inner facing room window.
Quality Suites, Good Food, Fitness Center, Location Minor Issue at reception with breakfast not being delivered because the breakfast card was not picked up from the door, which I did not mind.
Great facilities and location - truly 4 to 5 star. Staff are not outstanding but try to be helpful. Skip the breakfast - a rip off , go to Starbucks instead. easy access to tube and major sights. Great gym !
The previous really positive guest reviews made me try this hotel and I wasn't disappointed. The location close to St Paul's is perfect, and the value for money you get at this hotel is OK for London standards. Big plus: Though the hotel is in the upper price category, they offer free WiFi. I expect this from hotels of any category nowadays, but it´s not standard (yet). The spa area closes already at 9pm, and you have to leave the building to enter the spa *brrr*. I know significantly cheaper venues that will switch on the sauna on guests' request 24/7. After an exhausting day at work that might last until 7-8pm, 9pm is just too early to close the spa.
We had a really comfortable room with a sofa and a view over the atrium The lifts were a real problem. There are only two and at peak times we had to wait a long time. No alternative stairs were signposted which might relieve the delays.

Staff were very helpful. Nice clean looking lobby. Good fire escape facilities. At check-in were trying to charge us for an extra baby cod (child < 2yrs) while in the initial advertisement baby cods were free of charge. After a short but crisp discussion showing them booking info on paper printed from the site, staff finally admitted the cod was indeed free of charge. Phone charges for local calls are ridiculously expensive, real robbery. Looking at the quality of the rooms, the general service facilities and costs, and comparing with other hotels, a 4-star classification is overrated.
There is not an adequate business center ...very bad for a "business" hotel....
Location to underground. It is five minutes to the station and easy to use. Also, the breakfast is very good. The Chinese Bistro was good too. We were pleased with everything. The hotel however, gets quite busy.
Dinner was excellent
It was good returning to a hotel we knew where the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Handy for the Albert Hall and Kensington shopping
What I liked about this hotel was the close vicinity to Kensington gardens and the underground station we stayed at this hotel two times this trip, The first saty we checked in early, the only room available was at the mezzanine. though it was a non smoke room, the room smelled badly and the outlets for the laptop were hidden behind the refrigerator. The second time we upgraded to a better more expensive room , which was nicer but also showed some bad points, the exterior windows seals were partly gone, and the airconditioning which looked ancient was noisy. Overall my impression was that this was once a great hotel for its day but today is in dire need of maintenance and repairs. Also the exterior looks very dirty. The prices are very high compared to the room you get. Overall I don't think I would make use of this hotel again.
Great location Rooms were a bit tiredlooking
It was a very reasonably priced hotel especially for London. It is very self-contained, several restaurants and bars, that are open late. It also has a take it to go, snack and breakfast cafe. It is close to the tube. The air conditioning is not up to the task, especially when the temperature spikes in the summer. The hotel is dated, old look, old furniture, etc.
public areas look really well, staff very good and very convenient location I perbooked internet access but it did not work satisfactorily. When I reported it a new connection was brought up fairly quickly but I had been very inconvenienced overnight and in checking in online in time and on checkout the front desk staff did not appear able to handle a request that some deduction to the 24 hour rate be made.

Location is perfect for the theater district. Staff is very friendly and accommodating indeed. Hotel is very elegant, a bit formal. Could be intimidating for a tourist from the US west. Got a good room rate, but drinks, tea, and breakfast were as expensive as you'd expect from a 5 star central London hotel. We ended up changing our room twice -- the first time at the suggestion of the bellman, because it didn't have any view. The second room had a view but was way smaller than the other, and had no bath tub. We were moved a third time at our request and got a wonderful room (but without a river view). The staff made both moves very easy indeed.
Good service Great location Breakfast buffet same everyday. Not much selection for 5 star luxury hotel. I stayed 13 nights and every morning same small selection of breakfast. There should be a lot more selection .
The room was fantastic with view over the Thames, Bed very good and quite and the Hotel is tucked out of the way but in easy access to all of London We did not get a warm welcome at reception, They tried to put us in 2 single beds when I had booked river view doudle. They would not take my word so I had to go back to the car to get our booking. It is also hard to get a cab from this hotel.
Service and staff were exceptional. Made us feel special and very welcome.

It would be a good 4 star hotel. good heating and hot showers. food was barely edible, always stale. reception service is appalling. In desperate need of refurbishment, old TVs, design. It was just a bed and a bathroom, not a 5 star hotel.

The welcome and service of all the staff. Everyone especially the Hungarian gentleman bent over backwards to make an extra effort every single time I approached them. More likely they approached me quicker, to help with my pushchair and baby. They were polite and fantastic. Your real asset!! The towels had an awful smell (I have a sensitive nose). My room was no 847. When I enetered the room I could smell the pigeons in fact I looked at the window sill and sure enough there was pigeon poo - and the windows hadn't been cleaned in some time? There was no child quilt / blanket provided with the cot (and, although the cot was provided, I had to ask for this to be made). The staff could be taught level one english.
Hotel is very well located - 50 meters to Embankment Tube, walking distance to Covent Garden, Taffalgar Square. Service was great. Room was very nice and comfortable with heated bathroom floors, but no views to speak of. Would definitely stay here again. Great deal at $250US pricepoint. Nothing.
Overall stay was very comfortable except there was a very loud wedding party on Saturday night that didn't end till past 1:00am, but the hotel gave me a very generous discount for that night. Would also have liked more overhead lighting because the atmosphere in the room was rather dim!
Everyone is polite and not overbearing. The room although we felt is was quite small it was peaceful and very clean. The only point was a dirty wet cloth left on the wardrobe shelve which was a little unpleasant,
The rooms were comfortable and we had a lovely view of the river and the lighted ferris wheel. The staff were courteous, professional, and responsive. The location is great. The concierge was quite helpful. Breakfast was great but if we had not obtained a good price including breakfast, the a la carte cost of adding on breakfast would not have been worth it. The hotel is lovely and we hope to stay there again. For about half of our stay the hotel telephone system was not working. The sink in one of our rooms was quite high and uncomfortable for our elder and short relative.
Althoug the room size was a bit small, it has modern accommodation, functional, clean and the hotel is very well located, close to the Marble Arch. The bathroom is high standard with TV set, large bath tube and other minor things. The room location in the basement for long stay is a bit depressing. I was not expecting this when booked a "superior double room." Moreover, as a Brazilian visitor, I suggest that the available Brazilian TV channel should be changed for a better standard because the one available was a network of an evangelical church of low ratings and deplorable programming. It could be replaced for a GloboNews, BandNews or, at worst, a Globo TV broadcast.

I was due to meet my mother at the hotel, she arrived 30 minutes before me and was made to pay the full amount for the stay, even though she repeatedly informed them I was paying and they had my card details. After locating my room i was in a state of shock as to its cramped size and airless atmosphere (5* with 5* prices!). i then went back down to reception to find out the location of the pool and gym also to request a hotel information booklet and directory and a room service menu, (This never materialised durinng our stay. I was informed that the pool/spa/gym was not open yet as the hotel was still being built. Also the main restaurant was not open yet but we could eat in the bar if we wanted.
The room was very clean, well equipped and comfortable. The front of house staff seemed disorganised, we checked in at 10am and left bags, got a call at 12.30pm asking when we would be arriving and had to explain had checked in and paid!!! Were advised that bags would then be in room when we returned, however, when we did get back only one of two bags was there. After calling reception eventually went down to find bag was still in the lobby not even locked away. Bar was not open due to staff being late and would have expected this to have been open all day for a 5 star hotel. Alll in all the front of house staff, with the exception of the doorman who was excellent, were definately not up to the standard of a 5 star property
The proximity to Oxford Street and the West End The room and bed where surprisingly small for 2 grown ups with luggage. We didnt really have any space for our luggage or what we shopped. Needed to place shoes in bathroom.
Situated in the middle of London, yet absolutely quiet. Excellent service and facilities. Just a small detail: We didn't get the TV in our bathroom to work.

I booked hotel when vat was 15%&my stay was when it was 17.5-hotel charged difference. Thought the hotel as a gesture could have met small cost itself.
view, cleanliness & friendliness of staff absolute nightmare to get to because of road works surrounding the immediate vicinity, however, this isn't so much a negative about the hotel itself. was disappointed we had the choice of either paying an extra £30 to park in the public car park opposite for 2 days or an extra £50 to have it valet parked. we weren't expecting such a high charge.

The room was very clean and spacious. The doormen were friendly and helpful. I had flowers delivered to me at the hotel and these were turned away at reception with the reason being that I wasn't staying at the hotel which was incorrect. I left my key and a note at reception for my son to collect and leave his luggage in my room, reception said that I had not done this and did not have a key for him. During my 12 nights there a card was sent to me which I never received.

We loved the look of the place and everyone was so professional and friendly. We had a wonderful Christmas brunch and had fun going in the spa pool. We had a drink in the bar. I'd highly recommend it. It's just beautiful there.

The carpeting in the common halls was old and worn, giving the hotel a dowdy feel, like something one might find along a highway used for a quick overnight stay on a trip to someplace else.

very nice business hotel. Room was nice. Lots of street noise from night clubs across the street. When the Queue formed 11pm + and especially when the club closed 1:30-2:30am, the street noise was very loud (above TV level). The only night it was not an issue was when it was raining. The room also didn't have a bath tub.
The location was fantastic. The out of town crowd the hotel attracts is undesirable... I often made to feel like second class due to the fact I am a woman... I hear this crowd often descends on London in the summer though so I can't slight the hotel for accommodating to them

The location to the Albert Hall. We were not pre-warned that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and therefore noise levels were very high.

Location and cleanliness are the only positives about my stay. Poorly operating lifts. Bathroom so small. TV inoperable. WiFi requires £5 payment daily by purchasing a code from a vending machine. Long lines at check in. Long line at luggage check/collection. Never again!
Food location staff , all works well , I would love to go back but when all the work is done so it'll be that bit more comfortable for me The hotel lifts were very slow and 2 was not working at all , also there was work being done for the new reception area ! As I have sciatica very bad , It was very difficult using the stairs and temporary steps the hotel put in place !

Spent about a week in London and stayed at the St. Giles. No regrets. Close to the West End action and much cheaper than some in the area. This hotel is also frequented by bus tours - Ugh. The room was good though small (almost Japanese hotel room small). We did not partake of their restaurants and went to a much, much better buffet down the street for breakfast. Concierge staff was very helpful

we had a great visit. The staff was impeccably polite and helpful. the elevator situation was pretty bad. I don't know if some of the lifts weren't functioning or what, but we ended up taking the stairs most of the time
A nice complimentary breakfast the following day. We booked a table for 4 in the hotel's Italian restaurant for Saturday 27/11/10 at 5pm in order for us to attend a show. When we were ready to eat we were told that we didn't have a reservation as this restaurant did not open on a Saturday night. We were however placed in your Japanese restaurant without too much bother. Better communication with guests would be better.

What's not to like! Everything was outstanding! The hotel staff couldn't be more friendly, anything you needed they got it for you! Just wish it wasn't so pricey otherwise we would go more often!
The Savoy stay was one of the most exceptional stays that I have had -- extraordinary from the moment the taxi door opened. I needed a rest and wanted to visit London, and the Savoy was worth every penny. Location is perfect. Food and service were outstanding -- didn't feel the need to leave for an outside restaurant. Breakfast, high tea and dinners were delicious. High Tea was conceivably the best I have every experienced. Room was like a cocoon, and their baths are legendary. Will be back soon for another break. I was disappointed that the spa and pool were closed for renovation.
despite being over motor court, room was very quiet, everything was well designed, staff was extremely helpful, bathroom was tremendous, restaurant was great. Very little (if anything) to actually complain about. Top-notch. gym facilities were modest as was pool, but not a terribly big deal as most hotel gyms have a limited offer.
