Warm welcome and attentive service
the peacefull feeling of the hotel you can hear everything very well inside the hotel
Good location, english speakinf and excellent customer service Specious and beutiful but not very practical bath room
Wonderful location and remarkably interesting building. No
intimate, freindly, colourful, inspiring, attentive, comfortable, and a really great breakfast on a lovely roof terrace
Interior design is great. It's a nightmare to find it.
The manager Ms Amina, she was of a great help and great person to meet. Very freindly staff and an amazing feeling while your in the hotel.
Locatrion, pleasant reception, food snacks in the rooms. We were booked for 2 nights originally, but flight schedules caused us to change to one night. Please correct your info. Having stayed in upscale Riads in Marrakech and Fez, Dar El Kebira was a let down. The ambiance is antiquated and while I like that and it makes it cozy, it could have been more elegant. The owners, managers, and staff were most accommodating. A guest should be made aware that a "duplex" room means that a double bed could be ina tigh space on a second level accessed only by step tiled steps, so those with navigation problems should be steered away from this room (Orange). There should be more amenities in the bathroom-hairdryer, better quality soaps, shampoos, and towels. We stayed in the Organge Room and only one bath towel was provided which we didn't notice until it was too late to request another our first night.
The Riad is well located, close to the Kasbah and within the medina. I stayed there for one night on a whistle-stop tour of Rabat. Location is great - accessible on foot from the entrance to the Kasbah des Oudayas, and very close to the action in the middle of the Medina - although far enough away to be quiet enough to sleep. I didn't have any trouble with noise. The place itself looks gorgeous inside - a real oasis of calm - especially when you get up to the roof terrace for breakfast. I took dinner there in the evening - which again, I couldn't fault. Overall - a gem of a place. If you're trying to find it, there are signs up around the media; or if you have a GPS, the location is N34 01.693 W6 50.156
The hotel was very clean, the service was very helpful, attractive decor and the location was excellent. Very relaxing over-all
It is a beautiful riad, definitely one of the very best we stayed in Morocco. The looks of the place are amazing: pretty, clean and "automaticly relaxing". Staff was very friendly and helpful, not pushy by any means. Great location. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends! Just loved it! Also, dinner was reasonable price (a bit more expensive than outside, but surely good and worth of staying in). It would be nicer if staff would speak some more english, but this is a common "problem" in morocco... And yes, lack of shower curtains is fun, but again - same as everywhere else in morocco.
The authentic atmoshere and interior design is absolutely beautiful. It is a little gem in the middle of a maze of narrow streets and walkways. Although I could not speak French, the manageress and staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and I managed just fine. I would have preferred a more substantial breakfast.
Friendly, great food, great service, beautiful rooms and riad. Helpful staff. No
Breathtakingly beautiful riad. The staff were all helpful, accomodating and delightful, the food wonderful and it was a magical stay. I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Rabat. If you stay there, be sure to have dinner one night in the courtyard. Nothing to dislike. A lovely and peaceful riad.
Very confortable, the service was top class, The food is also excellent
The Rias is incredible, the best in all Morocco, we recomended to stay there
The ambiance, the food, you can get a beer and good wine too :) The service in the restaurant was a little relaxed, but I think this is an African thing
Gorgeous Riad, stunning dinner on the terrace, luxurious suite. Excellent location if you plan to visit the medina, kasbah, and the souks.
Staff, decoration, swimming pool Air conditioning was not working
The room was elegant and the air con. was excellent - no noise. The pool area was a treat to relax and we were given a bowl of fruit to help our hunger. I did not think that the breakfast serving staff had any idea of what was required. On our second day the breakfast was not served for 15 minutes. Apart from this the staff were very helpful but often missing. I booked the hotel 7 months in advance for 4 nights for my sons wedding only to be told the week before that the room was double booked and we were offered an alternative for 2 nights in a completely different location. This was not good and I was told that the staff did not co-ordinate the bookings. This caused disruption on day 3 which lost us time, especially when we arrived at Riad Kalla, the room was not even ready.
1-There is no T.V in the rooms 2-The Picher in the site is bigger than realty 3-Win I want to cancel the booking to move on to another hotel because of the location is in the medial of the markets , they said you I have to bay for the 3 days witch I booked already in advanced but am not satisfied with hotel .
Everything. It was a wonderful surprise ,because it was our first stay in riad. Nothing, really great.
Amazing relaxing place. The breakfast in the morning was memorable: tasty jam, fruit salad, home-made crepes, fresh orange juice... Just a bit expensive compared to the average prices of the city. But still ok for an european costumer.
Beautifully restored traditional house within the Medina. Wonderful hosts. Could not have been more helpful.
Very warm reception, domestic and comfortable atmosphere. Remarkable personnel which does everything for the receipt of maximal comfort of the guests. Romantic enough place, especially breakfasts on a terrace. Located not far from basic historical and cultural places and railhead. Very colourful interior and district on the whole.
The rooms are absolutely beautiful! This is a great hotel destination for a couple wanting a romantic getaway. It is also a 5 minutes walk to the old Medina. The caretaker of the hotel does a wonderful job and prepares fabulous breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Communication however is the most difficult aspect as she speaks very little French and no Spanish or English.
We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Dar Mayssane. The rooms where beautiful, the atmosphere was romantic and relaxed and the staff were very helpful. It is truly worth considering a stay, if you are looking for a nice Ryad. We stayed in several Ryads during our trip to Morocco, and this one was the loveliest. Just consider that it is a Ryad, so do not expect huge rooms, English speaking staff, or (often gross) buffets, as with "normal" hotels. Finally the breakfast was excellent, and we had dinner there once, which was pricey (considering local prices), but the very best we have tasted in Morocco!
Beautiful Riad!!! Very nice decoration and welcome home atmosphere!! Very kind and attentive to the guests staff (I suppose owners...). We stayed in amazing room on the 1th floor - huge, cosy, just so nice!! Bed is actually was very comfortable, cosy and clean! Nice ant tasty breakfast. We'd stay in the Riad next time with great pleasure if come again to Rabat and recommend it 2 all of or our friend!! This Riad gave us a very nice memories of staing in! Thank you very much for this!! Location is very good as well - very easy 2 find with the map from the site, in Medina - near by mainest sights, just 10-15 min walk from Railways Station! Everything was just perfect! Just one - toilet located just in the bedroom behind a curtain... Interesting but definitely not comfortable at all!! And no possible 2 have a drink in the riad's bar by glass but by bottle it's quite expensive (20 Euro - a bottle of ordinary white wine)...
The hotel staff was friendly. The food was good. The rooms were clean and very nice Everything was good
This was one of our favourite riads during a 5 night trip through Morocco. Easy to find, on the edge of the medina, very friendly and warm welcome. We loved our cosy room (La Confidente room) and the roof top terrace is terrific. Given a map and overview of the area, and provided us with a beer and bottle of wine for relaxing on the rooftop and watching the sun go down. Fantastic breakfast too. High recommended. Nothing that we didn't like!
I liked the warmth of the hospitality & the attention to detail. The staff were really friendly & helped to make our two night stay very special. Nothing bad to say about the riad.
Friendly people, helped us to find it from the parking lot (which can be difficult, the Riad is in the Medina) Riad published to accepted CC, but it didnt. I only found out at check out, and was suggested to go to the bank (on the other side of the Medina); not what you wish for on that moment...
The family-run inn and staff was wonderful and we did, as had been suggested by others, have the home-cooked Moroccan meal, which was very good. We found out after we scrambled to get more Dirhams that we could pay the bill in Euros in cash, which would have been nice to know. Make sure that when you are in the downtown areas that you go to the ATM for money, as there is nothing close to the Medina area to get cash. Before you get into a pettit taxi, make sure they know where the hotel is, because our driver said he knew, but dropped us at the wrong area of the medina, and it was quite a maze to get through from the wrong entry point. This is not a complaint about the hotel, but we found it more difficult to get around including directions to the hotel than in other areas of Europe, as almost no one spoke either Spanish or English, not even a little. Brush up on your French. Many people in the medina spoke only arabic.
the location is not bed, but in the medina. The room was so dirty and so small for the price. No reduction on the price even in low season, personal rude (they don't came to say goodbye when we left the hotel, but just the waiter was there). Avoid this hotel!
good location, friendly owners, traditional style
Stunning renovation of two old mansions into a lovely Riad in the heart of the Marrakech medina. Great breakfasts and attentive service. No wifi was available in the room, probably due to the thick concrete construction. Wifi in the public areas was questionable at best.
