We have three rooms in the old part of the house, original wooden floors of the eighteenth century. walls and ceilings painted with lime. We also have two rooms at the garden with modern design. Hotel Casa Casilda is located in an old house of great historical value located in the old part of the town of Tacoronte (Tenerife). Having experienced various uses and modifications over three centuries, it was acquired and restored as a family home in 1980 and transformed in Hotel Rural in 2015.
The unique building, dating from the eighteenth century, acquired its iconic character in 1860, when it housed the famous antique cabinet anthropological and archaeological of the Canary Islands, known as "Casilda Museum". His founder, Sebastian "Casilda" Perez-Yanes, grew to a significant collection of mummies and Aboriginal artefacts in the Canary Islands that made possible the study of the early settlers of the nineteenth century by scientists like Sabino Berthelot, René Verneau, or Juan Bethencourt Alfonso, author of "Historia del Pueblo Guanche". Although the collection of this cabinet is dispersed in the late nineteenth century, scientific interest and attractive romantic "Casilda Museum". They were recorded in works such as "Tenerife and its six satellites," the English traveler Olivia Stone, "Five days Tenerife "French Architect Adolphe Coquet, or the novel" Thompson and Cia Agency.
