When we stayed at Shota the AC did not work the two first nights. The rooms became very hot and it was hard to get any sleep. The staff really did everything to solve the problem, even went out to buy a fan. After the first two nights they had the problem fixed. The time for breakfast is between 07-12 am! We arrived at 04 am so to be able to have breakfast late was wounderful. The outdoor restaurant is nice to sit at in the afternoon and evening.
It took a long time to get the coffee in the morning, especially if we came down when a group was leaving. I would have preferred a machine where the guests could make their own coffee. There is not a big variety to choose from at breakfast but what is served is fresh.
The location a half block from Rustaveli Ave. is superb. We walked easily to three major art museums and to the ballet. The hotel also has a superb kitchen and makes wonderful Italian food as well as Georgian. Breakfast included great pastries, smoked salmon, prosciutto, champagne--the works.
The large slabs of marble used in the gorgeous bathroom can be slippery. They might etch small lines into the floor near the tub and toilet and offer handle bars. Otherwise the place is picture perfect.
This hotel is excellently located. The rooms were very well appointed and there were very nice personal touches throughout the hotel. I very much enjoyed the breakfast - there was great variety and it was lovely to have Georgian food too! Nice bar and also I tried out pool (although small, it was perfectly formed) and sauna was a great bonus). The hotel team were extremely friendly and helpful. Had a perfect stay.
