10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, just a step away from the major sights of VN, very friendly and professional staff. The hotel is exceptionally clean. The breakfast was excellent! The hotel is stylish and modern inside while the building was contructed in the early XIXth century. It has its special ambience thanks to the historical value of the building, its modern interior and Serguey Rahmaninov's influence (the compoer's portrait near the entrance welcomes you to the hotel). It' very quiet too.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful new and luxurious hotel with very soft and elegant bed mattresses and bedding.
Cons: There was no air circulation in the room, if we opened a window for air there was too much street noise.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel building itself is very nice. Authentic Russian manor of XIX century. Perfect location, walking distance to the railway station, coach station and almost all places of interest. Cafe, restaurant and supermarkets nearby. Room was ready even before announced check-in time. We got early check-in in the morning (10 am) for free without additional surcharges. Standard double room on the 3rd floor is pretty spacious, clean, comfortable and full of light. Modern equipment including LED lights everywhere. Lots of power outlets and storage space for your luggage. It is equipped with electric kettle, glassware, minibar (you can use it as a fridge for your own drinks! ), big flatscreen TV, safety deposit box and air conditioner. Comfortable king-size bed. Free bottled drinking water in the room every day. Reasonable pricing with easy payment upon arrival, no deposits, no additional charges. Breakfast is also included. Tasty enough, but nearly same every day. Polite, friendly and kind staff.
Cons: Total lack of soundproof and noise protection. Strong audibility like through the paper walls. You can hear EVERYTHING in the hallway, strong sounds from the neighbouring room, staff room and stairway. Also you can hear the noise from the back street behind the courtyard. There is no bathtub, only shower. No balcony in this category of rooms. There is no good view from the windows the room 18. Good view should be from the opposite side, you can enjoy the view from the hallway window. No elevator, only stairs.

Pros: location is wonderful, the hotel itself is an old building, with carefully kept history. Some nice restaurants nearby

Pros: The location was perfect, across from the Kremlin. It was also very quiet. The room was rather small, but it was surprisingly well designed to use the limited space. It had a tiny kitchenette that worked pretty well despite the compact size.
Cons: The room door kept shuddering every time some other guests in other rooms closed or open their own doors. It really needs to be re-tightened.

Pros: Location's great, nice walk away from the old town. Hotel is clean and new, friendly staff.
Cons: Single beds are way too narrow. Breakfast was a bit odd, no bread variety, cheese or fresh fruit on buffet table.

Pros: This very nice mini-hotel is very close to the centre of Novgorod (Troitskaya street leads to the Kremlin in the north and the lake Ilmen' and St. George monastery, furiously damaged by the 19th century renovation, in the south), an old historical city with many ancient (from the 12th century on) churches and monasteries within and around. Our Three-Cats accommodation was comfortable and worthy of all our praise. I had nothing to dislike.

Pros: Small, but comfortable, newly renovated and decorated rooms with cosy beds; rooms had standard equipment - no fridge or water boiler; water dispenser was in the hall; hotel guests receive 10% off at the cafe Izyum downstairs (very cosy restaurant-bar with good food and drinks, which has a feel to it like a proper hotel lobby). Breakfast its also served at Izyum, and was different every day, we were there. 10-15 min walk to the historical center, shops nearby, available parking and good traffic connection.
Cons: Walls are rather thin, but we were lucky with our neighbors, who did not make noise. On the second day the breakfast cook was overstrained, and guests had to wait quite a while for their drinks and food. Breakfast was very good though and the cook regretful - not everything can be plain and sailing all day every day.

Pros: JEWEL IN THE CROWN!!! One of the best and most comfortable places that I have ever splet in my whole life of travel. The hostel is just after renovation, all is clean, pure, untouched and brand new. The owners` family is of armeniam origin. Fantastic dorms - huge rooms with just 6 big bed (instead of 16 that they might squeeze in), new sheets, pillows, blankets. Big windows, not covered by any obstructions that bring fresh flow of air inside, especially when it is over 30 degrees in the summertime. Huge kitchen with all the needed and necessary equipment - oven, cooker, microwave. Two big and empty fridges and freezers (no kind of any bad smell inside)! I was at last able for the very first time to cool down all my stuff from the small car fridge. There are 3 or 4 showers and toilets, so You do not have to worry about Your space in the morning or any kind of queue. Once again - brilliant, comfortable place with helpful owners. I might visit Russia again just to sleep in the place;) Thanks so much, until next visit! Regards from Poland! Barev!
Cons: AFTER VISITING 110 COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD I MUST ADMIT - HERE THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DISLIKED;) I WISH ALL OTHER HOSTELS IN THE WORLD LOOK LIKE THIS PARTICULAR ONE!!!

Pros: Spacious rooms, well ventilated, nice kitchen, all clean!

7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location, really in the heart of the city
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hostel itself is okay. No comfort or fancy decorations but is okay to stay there maybe one night. And it is quite cheap. The location is pretty good, only a short walk from the Kremlin.
Cons: We arrived at the hostel and didn’t know how to get in, so we called the number on the front and a women from the hostel told us, that they do not want any foreign guests. We were shocked and discussed with the women but with no real solution. Finally we got in because someone opened the door. We talked with the reception and after we showed valid passports and registrations, they agreed to let us stay. So we were lucky to have valid registrations already. According to Russian law they hostel is forced to register their guest and this hostel didn’t want to do this obviously. Furthermore the receptionist spoke only Russian. This hostel is not really accessible for foreign guests so we don’t recommend to go there unless you have a lot of patience and you are speaking Russian.

Cons: We did not want to be registered, but I'm not sure the front desk staff understood why. (Related to the new law requiring foreigners to be registered where they live, so we dont want to be registered when we are just traveling for a weekend.) Not enough plugs in a triple room. Wifi signal not great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, walking distance from the Kremlin Kind of felt almost like a homestay, very authentic Russian atmosphere Easy going stuff, sometimes even friendly Good value for money deal
Cons: Lengthy check-in process, they photocopied every single page of our passports which didn't happen to me anywhere else in Russia Very basic kitchen / kitchen equipment Not so comfy room/ bed On the second night the water supply got cut off in the whole city, not so cool I left a towel in the common bathroom, the next morning, when I realized it, it was gone. I thought the cleaning staff took it to the laundry. On check-out the receptionist told me the towel had been stolen and I'd have to pay for it. So better keep an eye on your towels)

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff that persist with translation apps when needed. Always cleaning, very comfy and homey hostels in a great location, just opposite the old Kremlin.
Cons: Not much in the way of cooking facilities. Free tea and coffee was good, but otherwise only a cooking stew pot with various settings, no stove.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right next to the sights of the old city. The hostel is run very professionally

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very convenient to visit significant place in Veliky Volgograd. The common room is very warm, bathroom also is very good and clean. Everything is good.
Cons: It just a bit thing about I got biten by mosquito at night, maybe I visited on the time having mosquito.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were kind and helpful, the location is very good, five minutes from the Kremlin and even nearer to some cluster of old churches. Free tea and (instant) coffee. Very nice power showers and low price. Great value.
Cons: My mattress was awful, like sleeping on bare springs. Could be bad luck I guess. Some mildly annoying features of most Russian hostels: a charge to leave your bags after check-out (although they kindly let me use the kitchen and sit in the lounge) and the absence of a toaster.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location, staff, bed, kitchen, bathroom, everything nice and comfortable
Cons: charge for locker usage, not mentioned in policies
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was great
Cons: I had a bad experience in Yaroslav hostel, but it’s my experience, yours might be better. It was a combination of me being in pain, so I went to sleep at 10pm, plus inconsiderable/noisy neighbors in a room - one started packing after 10pm and was doing it till 12am, plus VERY UNCOMFORTABLE mattress - springs were non existent. Bunk beds were very squeaky, even when you turn in bed. Needles to say I had a bad night sleep. Of course hostel is not to blame for the neighbors, but lack of comfort is for sure. In the morning after having breakfast outside, I came to pick up my staff, as I didn’t want to stay in this hostel one more night. There was no one at the reception, and even when I shouted across the corridor if anyone is there, there was no answer. So anyone could have walked in and take my staff. Please, be aware there are only paid lockers and they are quite small - fits small rucksack. All I wanted is to let them know about me not staying, which I did anyway later over the phone. There was never an interest of the reason behind early departure. That’s a poor customer service.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: No every day cleaning, no pen in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. In particular, the staff at reception were so very helpful, they really made the stay extra special with their friendly and positive attitude.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The standard rooms are pretty spacious, unlike most Park Inns. Room was clean and comfortable enough. Water is provided in the room and also in a cooler on every floor. Breakfast was ok, we liked the concept of "take away" coffee and fruits. The staff is nice and friendly. Wifi was good. Good value for money (we payed ~90USD per room/night). We tried all 4 star hotels in Novgorod, and despite the minuses, this one l consider the best.
Cons: Location is 1.5km away from center (but the area is nice). When booking in summer, mind that standard and business rooms do not have airconditioner (junior suites and suites do). Hot weather is pretty rare, but still, this is a little unexpected in 4 stars. Spa zone is so-so (would be a dissappointment if was not free) and standard and business rooms guests are allowed for free only during 8.00am-12.00pm (junior suites and suites- all day long), which is not clear when you book your accommodation. Free parking zone is pretty limited, and if you want to park in payed zone, they do not let you in until you pay at reception, not having the anwer where you are supposed to leave your car to go pay - this process should change to first park and then pay at check in or check out. Rooms are pretty dated- renovation is needed (halls and restaurant are already renovated). When you are having breakfast, nobody is cleaning the table from dishes- not very comfortable, if you are 4, and the table is not so big...
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff. Pretty good buffet breakfast.
Cons: Nothing. Nice property and great price. Real value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything save closed Beresta)
Cons: Beresta was closed((
6.8 Good
Pros: Location is pretty nice and quiet. A bit undeveloped, they could make a very touristy place by improving the surrounding area around the hotel. Receptionist who welcomed us was very nice and polite.
Cons: Some parts of the hotel are pretty old, like elevator, carpets, rooms in general, I believe they need a slight renovation, like they did to their restaurants. Breakfasts could honestly be nicer in terms of pastries , hot food, fruits selection, as well as the restaurant staff. It is a bit sad to receive a cold welcome with stone-like faces. And of course your parking lot, it’s insane. You can’t walk to hotel entrance normally due to cars parked on both sides of the road. You definitely should not allow them to be parked at your premises. There is a pretty decent space behind the hotel. Thank
6.8 Good
Pros: Hotel needs renovation now. Nice and silent location in proximity to the river, spacious room and hospital staff.
Cons: Rooms need air conditioning, breakfast could be better, decoration of the rooms are outdated and needs to be refreshed
6.8 Good
Cons: Small parking place Swimming pool not included in the price of the room and on top open only from 8am to 12am!
5.0 Okay
Cons: The was no air condition in the room, it doesn't fits 4 stars hotel! No gym, Spa was free only in the morning, breakfast very poor: everything almost finished already one hour before breakfast time ends, coffee machines didn't work. What half money back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, frienly personel, swimning pool

Pros: Extra second door in the corridor to the room. Soundproof. Cleanliness with some funny USSR options like original rusty iron water outlets at the WC floor. Nice staff. Fair breakfast, even if you come a bit late.
Cons: No more SADKO TVs (and probably no all-day-round SADKO movie casting any more, but I did not check). It's a joke just for these who know what I'm talking about.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and roomy. Friendly reception staff. Easy walk to river and Kremlin. Old style but has everything too need. Pleasant stay.
Cons: A couple of groups staying, so breakfast buffet can get busy. Cold shower in the morning, but was o.k. the night before...maybe just bad timing to have shower at peak time. No complaints really.

Pros: A single room here is quite big, it's a nice place to relax. Breakfast here is included and it's fine, edible at least.

Cons: Not in the center but quite easy to get to by public transport. Staff speaks only Russian.
