Modern feel and cleanliness. Rooms have good size and nice views of town. Very good breakfast. I had 2 kids and in the room and the extra beds are small.
Room is big, and location is good. The bathroom is too small.
Although we have booked the standard double room, we were given the apartment when we arrive. At first we thought: "Great we got an upgrade!", but the apartment was an downgrade indeed! Very dirty, broken furnitures, dark, very dated, just terrible. We went straight back to the front desk to ask for the room that we booked, and we were then given the double room. The room is ok, as its name "standard".
In-house parking, friendly staff, reasonable room price, room well equipped No airco in public areas/corridors; very expensive internet; only one PC at the business centre and no privacy; expensive breakfast, but good
The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. The room was lovely, and the breakfast was outstanding!
Very centrally .located within walking distance of the Christmas Markets and many of the city's sites. The room was nicely appointed and clean. We would definitely stay at this hotel again next time.
Excellent restaurant and not expensive. Good parking. Single room was very small but modern & clean. TV did not work (was a known problem but I was not advised on check-in)
We were upgraded to an apartment at no extra cost Unfortunately the apartment had been used by smokers.
great value for money
The guests are able to enjoy the excelent structure of the hotel SPA without any adittional costs. The room was very clean and modern. The hotel Restaurant serves excellent "gourmet" meals at fair prices.
Nice hotel, just few minutes walk from the city center. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent breakfast. Great value for your money.
Convenience and facilities
The room are cleans, reception staff are nice and speaks good English. The location is good, about 3 minute walk to marktplatz and 10 min from the hauptbahnhof. They should provide free internet access to customer. Expenses for breakfast is rather expensive comparing to the area.
good value for money central location
The hotel staff was very friendly! Answered any questions I had, and spoke english when I needed her to. The hotel room itself, was very nice. I was upgraded rooms, from a single to a double, for the same price. They were all booked out on the single rooms. I got this at a single price. The room weas cleaned daily, so it was always nice. This was an execellent hotel. I would reccomend this to most travellers since it was located in a great area, and the prices were good as well!
The location of the hotel was most convenient and the room was quiet. There was no view from my room
Excellent location, good physical facility Receptionist was a bit of a battleax
I stayed in room 102 over 13-17 September 2010. I would not describe it as a "Superior" room at all - it was very basic (which was what I wanted)Friendly, efficient staff, all of whom spoke enough English to enable all requests to be discussed. Very good :"Wurzburg" restaurant on premises - excellent food and good service. Right in bus and tram route. Efficient preperation and presentation of bill when checking out. I would reccommend this hotel to any business traveller looking for value for money. Pillows too soft (no support for head). Towels very thin and cheap. Toilet jammed in tight between shower and wall. Otherwise, all O.K. but I would not describe it as a "Superior" room at all - it was very basic (which was what I wanted)
Friendly staff, good location, bright spacious room.
Their restaurant was excellent Room was really small.
Great location It was unseasonalbly hot during our visit and the hotel ran out of fans. Plus street side rooms are loud with parking garage etc. on the street next to cafes
Clean room, very comfortable, great location! Breakfast seemed a bit pricey
Very nice room.
Beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast. Very quiet, clean and wonderful location.
Very quiet (the room opened into the inner "yard"). They advertised offering WLAN, but don't mention you need to buy the access from an external provider (T-mobile) and that it costs 8 eur / hour... So technically the advertisement is correct -- the hotel doesn't charge you for using their WLAN access point -- but compared to many other hotels, it's easy to assume that also the internet access if free, which it's not.
Loved the location & the old world charm of the hotel. Very large room. breakfast was the best we've come across in Germany
Wonderful breakfast, very helpful staff, charmingly decorated historic hotel. The location was great for getting to all the sights. Hotel is right next to a major tram stop and bus depot. We were very impressed that with the windows closed it was very quiet. But, our room was a bit warm and when we cracked open the windows the noise was so disruptive that we could not sleep. Our choice of either quiet and too warm or cool and noisy was not a good one. Would definitely be a major problem in the summer.
Breakfasts were top notch, staff was friendly TV could have had a few more channels but with Wuertzburg to visit, TV was not important. All in all, I would gladly return to this hotel.
The suite was amazing - beyond anything I have experienced in Germany. The overall ambience of the hotel was extrodinary. The manager and his wife have created a home like atmosphere that is unequaled. I will definitely be back and will recommend to all.
I liked the friendly people and the location of the hotel. Nothing at all - I will stay again at the hotel.
Attentive friendly staff with excellent English and commitment to hotel.Wonderful quirky decor and very good breakfasts. Hotel has been family business for about 100 years and it shows with lots of wonderful if over the top decorative touches. Information sheet issued to direct me to parking garage was inaccurate. Another guest had to put me right. Receptionist pointed out photos on her desk which identified the buildings along the route. Garage itself was fine. Room design was odd with door to bathroom alongside bed with external light switch so that using toilet in middle of night meant that one inevitably shone light on partner.
Hotel was helpfull as your reservation was not made and they had to book me in on arrival, luckily they had a room spare
Quite room in a quite town. Excellent breakfast Stairs between garage and elevator. Breakfast not included in room price.
Conveniece to old city centre and pool/spa are best featrures. Garage not well sign-posted inside and cramped.
Easily accessible by road. Good clear directions. Very conveniently situated for the old part of the town. Maritim is a typical medium sized international hotel. Solid, reliable performance. A double bed should be a double bed and not two singles pushed together, but you dont tend to find this in Germany
Great view of the river and Marienberg.
The atmosphere and ambience of the Hotel. Also it's location was very good.
The pool was excellent The choice in the restaurant was very disappointing and only 1 of the 2 restaurants appeared to be open!
very friendly and helpful staff; good parking facilities at the public parking underneath the hotel; comfortable room. I severely missed a bar of soap in the bathroom. I hate these sticky body and shower gels! Any hotel in this category should provide a bar of soap as part of the standard facilities.
The receptionist was very helpful The car parkling facilities are bnot ideal and information about them in advance of arrival was not good.
Ability to park the car and within walking distance to the town. We were given a room on the 7th floor which was not accessible by lift - had to carry two heavy bags. Facilities such as internet are not free.
The room is good, with air-conditioner, dryer, shampoo, etc. It will be more attractive if the price (say 75euro per night for a double room) is including breakfast.
A well located hotel, easy to find and very close to the Altstadt. The underground car park solves parking difficulties. The room was clean enough, but the whole hotel looks in need of a makeover. As we had only booked for one night, it was adequate, but wouldn't wish to stay longer. Breakfast price rather extortionate, so we used a nice bakery by the Alte Mainbrücke instead.
Clean Quiet and profesional
Location is good. Breakfast is excellent.Overall facilities are acceptable. NO
comfort expensive telephone charge, even no go through. wireless need charge, pubilic internet downstair need charge. Everything need charge
Within walking distance to the inner city. The internet access is poor and expensive.
Location was perfect for walking to downtown and good food The internet was by the hour and this was not a nice feature, all the hotel I have stayed in this trip have a price for the 24 hour or free.
Location; Staff provided extra bed for small children without request; Air conditioning
Price is very affordable, free car park, not far away from the main tourist attractions. The room was quite small and the bed was not too comfortable. A basic hotel. But can't complain as price was low (EUR70 per night).
Lounge area not very suitable, it would be nice if there was a terrace or somewhere where one can sit and meet friends
Very clean and calm and close to the city centre,
It was good hotel, exelent brekfast, clean room, friendly staff To far away from City center, need car
Les places de parking disponibles devant l'hôtel. Le calme, le rapport prix qualité très avantageux et la proximité des accès d'autoroutes. Il n'y a pas de restaurant à l'intérieur de l'hôtel.
A warm welocme and treated efficiently No provision made for my wife's gluten-free and lactose-free diet
Stayed one night during travel No
Extremely helpful English-speaking receptionist. She rang me straight after my booking to offer explanations. The non-English speaking lady was most polite as well and perfectly achieved whatever communication was necessary. Reasonable distance from Wurzburg train station (8 EUR by taxi). Bus goes every 20 minutes. The room door was very heavy and closed loudly, unless held very carefully. Beware of your toes - I hurt mine and that was very painful (though not serious).
The staff was very cordial. Our room was well appointed and clean.
The staff were unable to speak english but they were very helpful and friendly. We had motorcycles and the receptionist moved her car from a garage so that we could have secure parking. The rooms were clean and modern
friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, comfortable accomodations, breakfast was excellent
The staff was most helpful. The hotel offers a very elaborate breakfast selection and the rooms are very clean. I selected this hotel as my travel "hub" for 7 different nights. The rates are very reasonable and its location is convenient to the Autobahn.
There is no lift and no restaurant
It was a pleasure to stay in the hotel. It is a little bit far from the center of the city, but if you rent a bysicle in the hotel it isn't problem. Road to the center is good and takes only 10 minutes. There was no wi-fi connection in the room, but when we need internet we got it by cable provided by staff on our first request. Breakfast was poor. Good coffee, rolls and nothing else tasty.
Even thought the staff had limited Enlish, they were very helpful in finding out how to get to one of the sights
Clean large room. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Out from city but tram trip is about 8 mins.
The friendly and helpful owner and her husband.
location was very good in quiet area
The staff at Hotel Fischzucht were all extremely pleasant. The breakfast was well above average and contained high quality products. The beds were also very comfortable. We also ate at the Hotel's restaurant and on a very busy night it was a very good experience. Cheap too! The hotel is a fair way from the station, but there is a tram stop close by.
quiet, pleasant and exactly what we wanted as an overnight break in our drive/journey from the UK to Vienna nothing to dislike
Not just a business hotel in town, but a place with atmosphere. Great staff
Very friendly and helpful personnel. Excellent breakfast. Given the high standart of the hotel the price was more then adequate. Although all of the rooms are clean and comfortable, some have not been refurbished for some time.
I really loved the blanket. It was leaves and very warm. We asked at reception the price of internetional calls and the recepcionist gave us the wrong information. When we checked out, we were suprised with the bill, that was much higher than we expected. By the way, we really think that was an honest mistake.
Fairly good location.About a 20 min walk to center of town, which is well worth it. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty Rooms although very clean, quite small and quite basic for the price,--- eur, which is about---. Breakfast is extra 7.50 euro each,($10)
Good location, just five minutes walk from the city centre. Easy to find. None of the staff spoke English
Nice hotel staff, good breakfast, good bed and calm during night. the price !
Friendly and efficient staff
Everything was fine,including staff etc.
The location was good. It was expecially helpful being able to pull up to the hotel to unload suitcases. The room was very small, and the bathroom even smaller!
The room is beautiful with pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. The location is excellent, the building is close to everything the tourists are interested. No!
It's a shame that the furnishings were so tasteless and bland.
Staff friendly and anxious to help. Location made it easy to see all the sites
Perfect location, free parking overnight, great breakfast, helpful staff
Room, front desk staff, parking system (free of charge from 7p.m. till 9a.m.), restaurant (for dinner) Nose from the terrace under my window (from the late evening till midnight)
Our one night stay at the Hotel Gruner Baum was great. Woman who checked us in walked us to the parking garage and assisted us with getting the car in the locked gates. The hotel is in an excellent location, not far to walk to the main pedestrian zone. Room was not real big, but very clean & comfortable. Free internet in the rooms. WiFi didn't work, but they supplied a cord for wired connection. Best shower of our 2 wk trip through out Germany. It was warm in the breakfast area.
The attention and kindness of Mrs Scheider , the confort of the room and a very goodbreakfast
The staff at Hotel Gruner Baum were outstandingly helpful! The hotel is small but comfortable and is in a quieter area of town.
We enjoyed the location a great deal. Everyone was very helpful and kind. The breakfast was wonderful!!
I found the staff to be extremely friendly and very accommodating. I had an early departure in the morning and they moved up the breakfast time to allow me to have breakfast prior to leaving. I would definitely recoomend this hotel to friends.
The staff was Wonderful! Delicious breakfast, with super clean rooms and that are nicely and simply decorated with excellent shower!
Very friendly service. Staff were very helpful providing extra curtains and an early breakfast on Sunday when we departed. Also in providing advice regarding Wurzburg. The room was excellent and very clean and the breakfast absolutely superb and generous. The hotel kindly did clothes washing for us gratis which was much appreciated.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Atmosphere was delightful.
1 persoon room was a bit small, but nice
The breakfast and dining room were quite nice. The room was below basic and not worth the price at all. Not all of the electrical fixtures worked in the room, but even without this consideration, the room was poorly lit and smelled. No drinking water was provided for the guests. The wifi did not work at all and the cable supplied worked sporadically. There is no lift, so you must carry your baggage up and down staris which are up to three floors above the ground floor. I will not stay here again. As mentioned above, the dining room and breakfast were nice.
The room was very small as was the bathroom and shower
First visit to the hotel, but many visits to W. Should have found it earlier. Very well located with view on castle (my room). Friendly atmosphere and nicely old fashion. hav
the view from window
Location excellent. Quiet and beautiful view of the castel across the river cannot think of anything negative
Town within metres , views fantastic. Staff friendly and hotel was recommended to us. Overall hotel was clean and well presented. Bathroom had unfortunate smell of rotten eggs , poor plumbing or other reasons not sure. This spoiled our overnight stay and was reported at check out . Room was small and located in the roof space and quite hot . Air con was very poor.
A very smart well located hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the reception staff extremely helpful with perfect English. Free internet available at reception too!
The location was very, very good. Surrounding views will be even better when road construction in front of hotel is finished. Hotel owner went out of his way to give us the rooms with the best views. Breakfast buffet was extremely nice and dinner at hotel restaurant was also excellent. All of the staff made us feel welcome and comfortable. Something better must be done about the parking garages provided by the hotel. To say the parking provided for our 5 series BMW was tight is the understatement of the century. The staff was sympathetic to this shortcoming.
Very comfortable room, close to historic old town. It is right on the river and a nice town to visit. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast buffet. Needs updating. No internet connection was available.
Comfortable room, very helpful staff. The restaurant is almost more upscale than the hotel itself. Next time, I would ask for a room with a view of the Marienberg Fortress.
staffs were very kind and my room was beautiful.
Hotel was close to the renovated old part of city and everything we wanted to see in Wurzburg was within walking distance. Had shopping nearby, including plenty of restaurants. Tight parking, but next to the hotel. Breakfast was extra. Third bed was uncomfortable.
Large, beautiful room and bathroom. Hi style decor throughout. Good location. Would definitely return.
Hotel am Congress Centrum was close to restaurants and shopping. It was a very clean, family-friendly hotel.
Very nice staff.
Staff was very friendly and spoke English.
Breakfast was great - room quite comfortable - we had a bit of trouble finding it - but once we did - we actually found that we could park on the street free - if we left by 9am or pay 2 euro to extend until 11am. The reception did not tell us this until we asked and their lot was full so we were going to have to go to the big garage 2 blocks away. Other than that the staff was great and were helpful when asked.
The hotel was well positioned, the staff wonderfully helpful. The extra payment for breakfast was excellent value for money, this was the best breakfast in our travels. We would recommend this hotel. We had to move rooms due to the smell in the first room, drain smell. When we were in the street we noticed the same smell, bad drains. The hotel needs to be vigilant about its drains.
wireless internet was important to me, rooms were comfortble, breakfast buffet was very good desk area could use more lighting
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lack of a parking arrangement. if you have a car - you're on your own as far as finding a place to put it.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast excellent It is in need of an upgrade in decor
the staff was very accomodating...we hit the German heat wave in July 2010 and no air conditioning was an issue. The rooms are not spacious but they were very clean. The street noise could keep you awake if you are there on a weekend night. The breakfast was plentiful and wonderful. The lack of air conditioning was an issue with the unusual heat wave that hit during our trip.
Room was well decorated and clean, and close to restaurants and bars in the town. Breakfast was good and staff helpful and polite. Hotel is only at best a 2 star. The hotel is overpriced and poor on facilities. Firstly, you cannot drive close to the hotel door. You have to stop across 2 tramlines and carry you luggage over the lines. Secondly, there is no lift and we had to carry our own suitcases up 6 flights of 10 stairs to the 3rd floor. Thirdly, on 3 days, there were 3 different sets of staff and the Reception was closed from 2000hrs to 0700hrs next morning each day and from 1200hrs all day on Sunday...not good if you had a problem. Fourthly, the free Wi-fi we could not received on the 3rd or 4th floors and had to sit on the steps outside the closed reception area to access the internet. Lastly, the room was so hot we had to open the windows at night but had alot of noise from all night trams.
The location was excellent. The appearance and ambiance were charming. The staff was extremely helpful and gracious.
It was comfortable and the lady at the desk was excellent. Very helpful and accommodating during our short stay. Really appreciate her assistance. Just a little hard to locate, but once there very good location.
The location was great, parking across the street, great buffet breakfast and large, clean room, very comfortable. Friendly staff!
We asked for and received a room with a view of the river which was just great. Location is very close to the main pedestrian bridge across the river and easy access to all of the sights of the old town. Lady at reception when we checked in was very helpful and made suggestions of the best things to go and see during our short time in Wurzburg. It is great that the hotel had a garage to park the car in during our stay, but the garage itself is very small. We had a small hire car which only just fit in. Anything larger might not so check with the hotel first before booking.
The room was just as I had requested: large, large bed, quiet, view of the river and castle, elevator. The breakfast room had the river & castle view and was enchanting. We could park our car in the hotel parking garage as requested in advance. The manager assisted us in all our requests. We highly recommend this hotel.
Staff friendly assistance
very nice and clean room-staff friendly
The breakfast is good.
The location is excellent and we had a view over the river and the old bridge which added to this hotel,s charm. The Staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing
A wonderful hotel location with rooms looking across the river towards the castle within a charming town. Wurzburg makes an excelllent gateway into Germany and I am sure we will go back to the Hotel Alter Kranen next trip.
Nice cozy hotel with very friendly staff that tried to accommodate all our needs. Despite of expectations, the room was quite large and very clean. Excellent location. Great experience breakfast selection was limited and the room rate was higher than at other comparable hotels.
Staff was very helpful.
The friendliness of the hotel people and general atomosphere of the hotel including the location.
The Room was very comfortable. The Staff was very friendly.
Location to Christmas Markets 20" between lavetory and stool. Small shower. Poor directions to parking garage..
Interesting decor, good price Room was next to stairway and was therefore a bit noisy. Also, the evening/night receptionist seemed to have some difficulty with English, but not too bad. The hotel location is a bit of a long walk from the train station and also from the main attractions, not as close by as we had initially thought.
Location is great to sightsee from. The staff were helpful. For dinner we highly reccomend the "Trattoria Lugana" across the street for dinner it was outstanding and a great value.
the room was clean and big, the bath was big as well, no AC, but it wasn't too hot. The location is great, a walk from the center. the only problem was that there is no parking, but we found a parking space just infront of the hotel, 1 euro per hour, free from 19:00 till 9:00 the next day. No AC, no parking
Comfortable, staff was wonderful, could speak English The showers are very, very small. Not even enough room to wash yourself. They need to expand the curtains at least.
A very nice hotel sitauted in a wonderful city. The place is too noisy and the luck of some electronical devices (refrigerator, coffee machine) make it not so attractive.
Good location, very close to all tourist spots and train station in Wuzburg. The bed for single is still small for a "Medium size" Asian.
