Pros: One word: paradise; the place is amazing!
Pros: It was the beginning of our trip in Madagascar. It is really an authentic malagasian place to be. Carol, the owner, makes you feel yourself at home. Dinner was awesome and familiar. All guests and owners have dinner together in the same table. We really enjoyed food and conversation With all of them. Carol arranged our departure and the boat to return to tulear. She was very helpful. Really enjoyed this authentic experience!
Pros: Overall I enjoyed a pleasant stay here, just relaxing, and a doing a little bit of diving (Longo Vezo is also a scuba center). The staff are friendly, the food was consistently excellent, and the rooms - though spartan were clean, comfortable and well ventilated. Showering from buckets was quite adequate (plenty of hot water too)and having no electricity in the room was not a problem for me either. Having set meal times and ‘communal dining’ was a little unusual but not such a big deal...
Cons: Internet was only made available for a couple of hours in the evening (management policy) - I think that the overwhelming majority of clients would appreciate being ‘allowed’ internet access at least for an additional hour at lunchtime...
Pros: Great location, reasonably priced & tasty meals & staff and owners were friendly and helpful. Had a great three days here.
Cons: Having to use pots of water heated by the sun, may be a problem for some. However, it was very effective & just added to the experience for me.
Pros: Staff was always willing to help and they were very helpful and kind. Bangalows are great, with a sea view, hammock, relaxing chairs, mosquito nets around the beds, small comfortable closet, lights in all spaces (but no plugs to charge electronic devices). What was not understood by us before we go was the fact that there was no running water at the lodge which WAS NOT a problem at all as there was sea water available for the toilet and 2 buckets of fresh water for each person daily delivered in our room. So it is not something I consider as a negative fact at all, is just something u should just keep in mind before u go. Some of the meals we had were excellent. We stayed there for a few days, I could actually stay for a hole month, so generally I think it was a great place.
Cons: It was a bit awkward for me the fact that lunch and dining hours were a bit strict,as i am used to a different and bit more flexible “eating timetable”. Although when I asked for the option of having at least a fruit salad during the day, Carol immediately order some fruits from Tulear, so there was no problem. So as I already wrote, Carol, Erik (and Honoré!) are very helpful so if u need something u just have to ask for it!

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Prince Anakao, we had a beachfront bungalow. There is space between the bungalows and the sun beds are not directly on the beach, hence giving you a little bit more of privacy. The bungalow is spacious and comfortable. Cleaned every day. Food was really deliscious and we enjoyed it a lot! We really recommend staying here! :)
Cons: We could recommend that the owner/staff puts up a sign at the wifi-zone in the restaurant that people should not watch movies/listen to music without headphones. We wanted to have quite breakfast, just enjoying the view and the sound of waves but people did not respect others, watching action movies with sound on etc.
Pros: Nice bungalow very close to the beach. Despite low amount of facilities, the bungalow remains fresh during the night despite hot temperature outside.
Cons: No hot water nor fresh water. The shower only delivers cold salt water and the hotel staff deliver buckets of hot water at night and at the morning. the hot water is salty too.
Pros: The hotel is very well located and it was one of the first to open in Anakao. The rooms are large and comfortable, however bit run down. Renovation is very needed, especially in the bathroom. Staff are very nice and helpful. The food was very good, however sometimes the portions were too small for all of us and especially the youngsters. We liked that it was distant from the village, 30 minutes walk away. It was quiet and with a lot of space.

Pros: Thank you Laurence for a great few nights on the beach! The food was fabulous both my wife and me and our 2 small kids and loved your place!
Pros: Location, beach
Cons: Staff attitude, except the male receptionist and waiter. Breakfast was a joke.
Pros: Location was ok, but then again all the hotels were along the beach.
Cons: Rooms had no electrical outlet, no hot water, no toilet seat and toilets didn’t flush. The hostess was extremely rude, she ran the hotel like it was her fiefdom. Heights of awkwardness was when we all sat at the table for dinner and we were served a crappily cooked meal while she and her partner gorged on more delicious food. The price of the hotel totally doesn’t justify the horrible treatment we received.
Pros: The paradise, the beach is wonderful, the people friendly, close to a fisher’s town walking distance. I did the open water course and I felt like very safe, and enjoyed the dives
Cons: It doesn’t have certain amenities as a cistern in the bathroom but is due to the social environment
Pros: The location was nice; beach front property. The communal bar area was welcoming with hammocks and various seating. The beach had a volleyball net. The owner's staff members were pleasant during the day. I wouldn't recommend joining them out at night.
Cons: Pretty much everything else. The security of the accomodation was seriously lacking: the lock consisted of a small easily removed padlock. The owner recommended we leave doors/windows open at night for ventilation as there was no fan. This was ok until the pet lemur joined (more anon). The cleanliness of the property was reasonable when we arrived, however sanitary bins were not emptied and the floors were not cleaned. The property promised showering facilities of which there were not. On one evening we had no running water at all and no other water provisions. The door to the bathroom consisted of a curtain. The mosquito net in the room was ineffectual as it was littered with holes. The owner also has a pet lemur which decided to come in the room one night running around the room and crawling on the bed. The owner herself seemed to us unapproachable and hostile when we raised the above issues. If you are not here to dive this is not the place for you as this seemed to upset her.
Pros: -staff was really nice -position is perfect, on the beach with beautiful sea and sunrise. It is close to the village of fishing man -diving are super nice with the owner who is a Padi instructor, she also speaks english -excursion like whale whatching and visiting the islands around, good price.
Cons: -the owner was apparently super nice. But she turns rapidly like the wind. She s really unpolaid, really weird. When she knows you are doing some activities or dinner or whatever outside her hotel she turns mad. Really not hospitable. -wifi works few hours a day, when the owner let us use it from his telephone hotspot. -no flush in the toilette, just bucket with the water of the sea. -water sometimes disappears I would not come back there.
Pros: The Service was Perfect. The People are really friendly and the Food always fresh and so tasty. The room was clean and the Beach is wonderfull.

Pros: calm a nice place to stay
Pros: The hotel area is beautiful and well maintained. It is a beautifull spot.
Cons: There is no running water. You get one little bucket (1) of warm water per person per day. No electricity the whole day. Only wifi from half past six till half past ten at the reception. The owner is not so friendly. She had her own friends and does not communicate with everyone. The rest of the staff is friendly. The eating in the restaurant is incrediddle expensive. I was sick and i eat one small little banana. Even the little banana was on the bill. When we paid they did not have the change. We asked three times. But at the end of the story they did n't give us back. It is of course not enourmous amout but when they charge 5000 Ar for one little banana.....they also have to give back the change! When you leave the property, the neighbourhood is not that nice. The beaches are dirty. And the first words off everyone are...'cadeaux, bonbon, l'argent". So you need to stay at the area of the hotel.
Pros: Nice, clean, comfortable bungalows, located directly on the beach. We did the snorkeling trip to Nosy Ve but it was not possible to snorkel there because of the strong wind and big waves. Would be nice if they had warned us. But the island is nice, you can walk around and enjoy the nature.
Cons: We kinda felt not very welcome there. In comparison to other hotels we stayed in during our trip. We got the feeling that the French manager is not very favourite boss for local staff. They seemed to be afraid of her a behaved strangely at times. And she was reserved towards us as well. Food was OK but overpriced for what you'll get.
Cons: I asked for hair shampoo but they did not gave it to me. The last night they took the electricity off at ten pm so I had no light to go to the bathroom. No light to pack my things for the early morning leaving. I had to use the torc of my mobile cell but then I had to travel with a mobile out power
Pros: The bungalow has a cosy atmosphere. The see is all around you, as it was in your room. The shower, even if with buckets, is with water at the aromatic oils, so pleasant!
Cons: Wifi, meals too expensive
Pros: THE ROOM IS VERY COZY, RIGHT ON THE BEACH.
Pros: The hotel is near the local village abd it is nice as you feel lonely but also with people. The beach is really nice and staff pretty ftiendly.
Cons: There was o huge mis-undersanding in the price of the room. We booked a triple room but as soon as we arrived the sweet lady in the reception said as it is out of season we will charge for a double room (we were 2). But the prices was not explained well, we thought as they reduce the price to take half board as the lady told us that it was an offer for us, and the total bill was from 76 it raised to 158! It is good that the owner split the mis-unederstanding and we paid 128. The room has elecricity 19.00 -22.30 and this was not written when we booked. Also the shower is with a backet and not with running water. Last there were rat lemourious insite the room. We did even know what they where and it was scary. Ok we love nature butnit is good to know everything about the unknown places we visit.
Pros: Fantastic beach and trips to nearby islands 300 + sunshine days a year Food is great Very friendly and helpful staff Despite not being on mains water, plenty of brackish cold water is provided for general washing, and very hot evening bucket of herbal water is fine for a post swim wash No mosquitoes or bugs
Cons: Coral is very bleached - but common in many places now Electricity 4 hours a day, as is common in Madagascar - you have to be organised to make best use of it.
Pros: Comfortable bungalows, nice garden, cozy restaurant, well kept common areas, general cleanliness, nice and efficient service,
Cons: Exorbitant prices of meals, well beyond any local standards. Neighborhood of the local village - crowds of people and children invading the beach and disturbing during sunbathing. Most of all the bad smell of human excrement. The beach closer to the village is used as a public toilet.
