The pillows and bed were excellent. Made for a refreshing stay.
Smoke in the room from the vent. Pillows feels like straw filling. Bedding ok. It is not a Fairmont standard.
Nice staff, pretty garden , I reccomend bungalows, good restaurants. Very good localization near ocean but also close to schopping places. I reccomend this hotel.
The location to the sea.Very attractive forecourt.Very attentive staff especially bell boys. The room was very spacious and had a good view to the sea. Far too expensive to park car at hotel.Should have been coffee-making facilities in the room.Very surprised as all the other hotels we have stayed at in the States have this and should be standard in a hotel of this standing.
It was charming, room and bed comfortable with a deck overlooking pool. Im fussy and i found it a pleasant experience quiet, clean and relaxing. Staff excellent and a short walk to beach, handy to shops and restaurants.
excellent position, very good staff, clean, nice
Great location. Friendly atmosphere. Tourist trap, small room & terrible view for a high price. Thought it was a chic-hotel, but instead felt like a hotel on the Vegas strip. It was a bit cheesy, and for the price I would've expected it to be more upscale.
Location We were given a room in first floor next to kitchen!! Every day we would wake up at 5:00am by the noise coming from there. Absolutely horrible experience. I complained. A lady from staff called me saying that they would change our room. never happened!
Location of the hotel was perfect. . Staffs were very kind. Special thanks to , the bell guy. No microwave in the entire hotel area at all. I needed a refridge instead of the minibar. No laundry room even though this hotel is located at the beach.

The staff was exceedingly helpful and accommodating. The location was outstanding.
Great location and modern building. Staff was outstanding and overall the stay was really quite delightful
Location Staff and service

Location -staff -pool-room No
Modern design and green/eco-friendly. Great location. Going to the parking ramp, having the car brought over and then having to drive oneself out is pushing the concept of valet. (Upon arrival it was drop at the front door.)
Room was very clean, great shower, friendly daytime staff. Extras once arriving were a bit much. $35 per night for valet parking + tip = $40+, expensive minibar & snacks in room, extra charge for faster internet. Overall star rating should be 3.5.
location and every room has a balcony
Excellent location with a strong own atmosphere and beautiful location
Great hotel with soem real history in a great location. They ahve done a great job of up-dating without losing the history. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No.
Nice staff. Neat building. Little expensive. Great food.
A very good hotel in the right location There was nothing i didn't like about this hotel
Everything The constant noise on the backside of the hotel, probably some type of generator.
Had the charm of an old classic hotel, yet the rooms were fully updated and quite comfortable. Great small hotel feeling. Close to the pier, shopping, and dining options Just hate paying for parking, yet you are right in the middle of Santa Monica. Just an pet peeve, not a negative for the hotel.
The hotel is very welcoming and and has an overall relaxed vibe. excellent location. it's very vintage in its deco look, but well maintained. you feel like you've stepped back in time. quite charming. and, the staff is very gracious without being intrusive. I actually have no negatives. my experience was ideal!
Everthing about this hotel was great the location and the staff were excellent.the room was great and had the most comfortable bed of all the hotels we strayed at during our trip to the U.S. its a very charming place to stay and I would definatly recommend this hotel and the area for your stay in la. The only problem was there was a lot of street noise at the back of the hotel in the morning but it was'nt a big deal. Also you have to pay for parking at the hotel which is $21 a night. Cheaper parking is available in the area.
Location, cosy feel, helpful staff Bathroom felt a bit dated (but it was perfectly adequate), no reply to an email query I sent following my stay
The intimacy of the hotel - it is private and feels far less commercial than the larger international hotels.
Did not lume anything. Lots of disssapointments First of all very very dirty hotel. Carpet not even vacuum and very dirty. Very small restroom. No minibar. The mezzanine restaurant closed at 10 and was very small. Waiters and valet parking guys nearly speaks English. Low cost employees and very unfriendly. Way too expensive hotel. Ugly expeirence.
The service desk was very helpful and generous. The hotel is in a good location and has a cool aesthetic. LM 100 smells awesome.
Lobby and common areas are fine/good. Illy espresso maker in room is good. Free parking was nice and offered glass of sparkling wine on arrival. Stuck us in a room that was like a prison cell with a Queen bed. King room was paid for and others were open. Shower barely allowed me to turn around and did not have a ledge for soap/toiletries so had to leave those on the ground. Also right next to an elevator bank. Room was not exactly clean either, mainly in the bathroom. Absolutely unacceptable. Highly disappointed because it was not cheap.
The views were excellent. The towels and robes were excellent. The ambiance was nice. The bed was really comfortable, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. The toiletries (soap, lotion) were insufficient, of inferior quality. The walls were paper thin, we could hear every conversation, every cough from next door and in the hallway, although we were on a starwood preferred guest floor.
The beds were so comfy and inviting. The staff was very professional and kind. Free parking. Very nice stay We had no complaints.
I was really impressed with the price of this hotel, the food was fantastic and the location was great.
Nice that they had free bikes available for use. Nice decor. Nice staff. Decent location, but not much within walking distance unless you are ok walking more than a half mile. Bikes are not available when it's dark out.
Nothing Horrible housekeeping Late food arrival Couldn't get in touch with room service Cold shower Creepy placd
The bed was unbelievably good.
Classy design of the hotel. Would have liked a DVD player in the room
Great café/bar room in mezzanine. Terrific customer service. Bicycles available without rental fee.
The location, parking facility, good service including business assistance with computer, The room change with rate change was not recorded so I was overcharged and had to fix this at check out, this caused a delay and unnecessary hassle.
Everyone went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable.
The hotel decor was pretty sterile. The Viceroy across the street was much more esthetically pleasing. The pool was ok, not great. The coffee bar was under staffed and looked temporary. Good for location. Staff cheerful, but not what I expected.
They did not have our reservation when we checked in; after calling twice to confirm. During those two calls, I was put on hold for thirty minutes the first time and eight minutes the second time..finally, they confirmed. Yet, upon arrival, they did not have our reservation and I had to check my confirmation email on my phone to prove it. No "sorry" gifts/amenities were given.
Please don't waste your money The staff was extremely rude, flowers were delivered to me that I didn't get untill a day and a half later, room service was poor, room is dirty, I would rate this a two star hotel.
Good location, friendly staff, clean room A bit expensive
All the Art Deco features. Its a beautifully renovated hotel. We booked the Deluxe room because it was a bigger room & couldnt really fault it. The bathroom has a big bath tub in it & the room is full of Art Deco detail. Hotel staff were extremly friendly & helpful. Hotel is right across from the beach therefore great views. If you have time go up to the rooftop bar. Great views. No water provided in the rooms. Internet facilities for people that dont have a laptop arnt that convenient. Internet is only free for the first 15 min & then you need to pay. Only one computer available right in the lobby no no real privacy either, very distracting. The hotel room rates are a little pricy but we enjoyed our stay.
Santa Monica is the best place to stay in LA for pleasure, and for business travelers with a little extra time for commute. The Shangri-La is the hippest, best place on the water. We've stayed at Shutters and Casa del Mar - eaten at Viceroy. Shangri La beats them all. authentic updated Art Deco, great size, pool, rooftop bar with view of the Santa Monica pier and beach. No question - the go-to place in LA . The New York Times Travel Section agrees. And this is not paid or sponsored - I am a real person - stayed with my daughter on her school break. Loved it! Anne We had to leave
The city was cleaning a parking garage opposite of the hotel during the night for two nights in a row, which was extremely noisy, therefore I checked out after two nights. I had a small room without a desk an therefore I think $300 per night was too much.
The hotel was beautiful & the staff was very friendy. The food was very good & the location was perfect for our honeymoon.
lovely room but we upgraded and the pool are and roof top very nice. Our only concern were the staff who didnt really have a clue apart from the bell boy and valets. Wake up calls always 15 -30 mins late/fridge didnt get replenished unless we asked
Location, decor, staff and double bath n/a
Good location, nice pool and open dining space Friend staffs None
location very central and just had major face lift really noisy at night - great if you are a party animal!
online it told me that the pool and bar would be open. Felt deceived!!! Bathroom door was broken, dirt in the bathtub, too much light in the AM, workers making lots of noise at 8am to fix pool area, bar on roof and pool not open even though it said it was online and that was the whole reason to go there. Took my boyfriend for 40th and highly disappointed. I was embarrassed!!!!!
Lovely, fresh interior. Friendly staff/ Our room was adjacent to the fitness center and someone was weight lifting (and dropping) heavy weights at 6:30 a.m. I thought gun shots were going off.
The hotel was conveniently located near the beach and restaurants. Hotel rented out pool area for private Lincoln event so guests had no access to entire outdoor pool area for all of Saturday, which was a big appeal of this hotel. Rundown with duct tape on the hallway carpets. They overcharged me for a number of items.
Very quiet and well appointed rooms. Nice pool area. Difficult to get staff help after late arrival. Surcharge for 'coffee service' seems lame given hotel class.
love the Viceroy feel, decor and spaciousness. The bathroom was not quite as large as the Viceroy in Miami, but nice nonetheless. great water pressure too! the TV on the wall was massive, perhaps the largest I've ever seen in a hotel room. Was quite surprised there is no coffee whatsoever in the room. While they offer 'free' coffee from an urn in the lobby to guests, you still have to get dressed and go down the elevator to get. Miami room had an espresso machine; that should be standard.
Rooms are well thought out. I wish that the cafe in the lobby would have more options.
I was very disapointed with my room..... Front desk staff very nice. I asbar staff very unfriendly..will probally not stay here again. For the price of room very dissapointed.
It was really terrific...
The staff was amazing very friendly and helpful Hotel needs to be renovated probably nice in the 90s. Way over priced. $35/day for parking and $15/day for wifi. I would not stay here again and I def would not recommend this hotel to anyone. very disappointing.
Staff was amazing Hotel was tired , carpet needs replacing, very tired
Shower would flood whenever we used it and the toilet kept malfunctioning.
Swanky and super clean rooms and close to the beach.

The location was vital to our stay. It was within easy walking distance of shopping and eating places. The manner of nickel / diming that they did. There was no coffee maker in the room forcing us to go down each morning to get our coffee in the lobby store. Parking was way overpriced at just under $50.
The location of the hotel was perfect. You can walk easily to the pier along with tons of restaurants and shops close by. I didn't realize that this hotel did not have a pool which is a real downer.

We were in a room that was recently updated, and although not very big is was well laid out and had many practical features. It was also very clean, including the inside of drawers. And we had a partial ocean view which was very nice. No.
Location. Adjoining room with group of partying people next door. The door was neither sound nor light proof. Security called 4 times and no effort made to stop disruption. Terrible experience. Would never stay here again or recommend it to anyone else.
Location and atmosphere. Restaurant was closed one night for private party - and 'traffic' in lobby was a little intrusive.

Quiet and away from the hustle of the city. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants. No pool
Every time you walked into the hotel their were staff members saying hello and ready to help with anything you needed.
Room style, location tax + city tax+ parking make this hotel overpriced
This is a luxuary hotel with a family run feel to it.They remember you as a person not a bill. None
The rooms were very spacious and beautiful decorated. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull.
courtesy of the staff ( Andrea in particular ) , fantastic breakfast buffet , location suites facing ocean avenue are way too noisy .
friendly and unpretentious environment with personalised service. good location for beach at Santa monica. Facilities are good. not cheap but price is pitched about right.
the breakfast was home made delicious and as much as you liked a bit pricey for the style of room
Very nice, and very accommodating for an early check-in.
The athmosphere of the B&B, the breakfirst was superb.
Nice communal rooms. When you consider the other inns/hotels we staying in in California, the Channel Inn was overpriced for the standard of room. We only stayed one night so probably did not experience the full services of the hotel. Our room layout was poor, getting in and out of the bed was not easy.
Nice, pleasant stay in relaxing surroundings. This is our fourth stay.
Friday morning there was a breakfast buffet with egg and sausage patties, waffles (cook your own) , muffins, fruit, coffee, fresh fruit and various waffle toppings. There was instant oatmeal and dry cereal with milk as well. I'm sure I might have missed a few items, but I was very satisfied with the choices. Ample tables and chairs to accommodate everyone who choose to stay there. Bring a tray from the room if you want to take it to go (breakfast in bed?). Warm room. There were too few stations on tv and only one chair in the room, but I'm sure I could have gotten another one if I asked. Wifi was spotty on 6th floor. Parking fee of $15 was unexpected.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STAFF.....from our late check- in to shuttle arrival at LAX. Having limited knowledge of the vast local area, we chose this hotel because of the Wyndham name and its location to the airport. Each and every person of the staff treated us professionally, pleasantly and with a sense of real care regardless of the job description. Hats off to this team!
Close to airport
great breakfast included. airport shuttle was very convenient. staff was friendly. bed was comfortable and everything was clean and up to date.
Called ahead to let them know I would arrive late. They said no problem. When I arrive they gave my room away and instead of 2 beds we got a bed and a pullout. Not OK. The first room they gave us had no water pressure so we had to move to another room. The front desk attendant had absolutely no remorse or empathy about the situation. Terrible service complete and total liars...
the location and being close to the airport for an early morning flight The hotel. The dirty worn out wallpaper, the broken AC units, the bathtubs that don't drain durning a shower. The hotel smelled like old cigarettes and the carpet in my room was dirty with crumbs. The pillows are all lumpy and half the size of a standard pillow. We requested different pillows but we're given the same type of gross lumpy pillows.
The staff is friendly and the building itself was pretty quiet give its proximity to landing strips at LAX. The exercise facility is quite nice. The express breakfast is limited, but gives a few options. My room was not clean--and frankly wasn't ready when I checked in at 4:00 pm (no bath towels). Toilet didn't flush well. Water didn't drain well in shower.
Easy access, comfy bed, great amenities (tea, coffee, hot water in the lobby), friendly staff The shower head and towels need updating
I called hotel 3 times and shuttle never came at airport. I had to wait for 1 hr finally I took a cab to hotel DO NOT take this hotel if you want shuttle from airport.
Super amazing beds! Breakfast is decent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Climate control didn't work in room, I don't think it worked on the entire floor so be sure to ask about it when you check in. Hair dryer was from the 80's. Parking for $15 seemed excessive.
Room had a stale smell. AC cut off and on all night and was very loud.
There was a problem with my reservation. But the person in charge really made me feel welcome, and apologized and offered good deals. I was very happy with my room. My TV was a little broken.
The hotel and guest rooms were clean and tidy. The staff were very courteous. The hotel charged guests for parking their vehicles.
I liked very much the location at the first place, the room was good, and actually we enjoyed staying at your hotel.
Location Everything else.
it's location was excellent. close to the Pier, the restaurants, shopping, etc. Also to the beach for early morning walks,
Very good situation I prefered pay less for the room and not receive a brekfast as we received there... very strange for european people!!
No amenities : no dining, no roof deck, no pool, no bar. Fire alarm went off at 11:45pm ... No clue what was going on.
Beautiful view Room more upper at the hotel
excellent room but shabby lobby. Continental breakfast was very poor. the breakfast
location was great!
Clean and spacious room
Location is great. Unless you have one of the few rooms facing the ocean, you're just looking out over the parking garage into a space that's loud with air conditioner white noise. The rooms are fine, but small and unimpressive given the price.
There was nothing to like terrible location Very out dated. Loud, you could hear everytime someone took a step on the second floor. Tiny rooms. No breakfast.
Somehow there wasn't enough parking.
Location for what I was doing Booked a room w 2 beds. Didn't get one. No rollaway or help changing rooms.
There was no air conditioning. The room was extremely small and layed out extremely awekward. Not a pleasant stay by any means. Not worth the money at all. Mm y husband and I will never stay there again.
friendly staff, clean room with fridge no pool, few sitting spaces at breakfast, quite a long drive to the beach, pillow was flat! But still a good place to stay.
The Desk Staff was helpful and exceptional If a pool cannot be added a public spa would be great
Very well equiped. Iron and iron board. Hair dryer. Safe, Microwave, Fridge, ice machine, vending machines, washer and dryer. Barbeque facilities. Very helpfull and friendly staff. Very clean. Not enough coffee. Wifi too slow.
Pleasant day staff. Good breakfast.
Staff is very friendly!
The Bed Flying bugs. They bite you when you are sleeping. These are not bed bugs, they are lite a little nat and they bbite when you are sleeping.
Location The layout of the hotel
Friendly staff, nice beds, good location, breakfast included Lack of parking due to renovations no exhaust fan in the bathroom
Clean, convenient and friendly staff. Geat location. Parking could be challenging if you come late but they will always able to find you a spot
Nice rooms clean and with comfortable beds. We had a rental car and the organisation of parking was great free and with easy acsess. The rooms had a refridgerator and there was a store next door were you could shop for food.Internet access.
Terrific location with a well maintained & very clean guest room. Proximity to TJ's made the stay food budget friendly. Finally the staff we encountered were friendly & accommodating.
Quiet and useful location.Very helpful staff. Very good breakfast.
Room nicely remodeled and updated. Staff very helpful. Location couldn't be better. Parking fee.
In front of pier The rooms were dark and poorly decorated facing a very busy and extremely noisy highway. Though the hotel is facing the sea, it is very difficult to get to the entrance. The parking was exorbitant: $43 a night!!! I do not recommend this hotel
One of the best customer service experiences I've had at a hotel in years. The front desk staff, the valet, housekeepers, and the service technician were all excellent. The service technician had to come to the room because the heat wouldn't turn on and he arrived in less than 5 minutes and had the heat working in less 3 minutes, and was polite and amiable. The hotel was clean, and in a great location (walking distance to the pier, good restaurants and bars, and the 3rd street promenade shopping area). Didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Overnight parking at the hotel is an extra $40; in my opinion, it should be included for guests.
Location Price and staff when I checked in seemed annoyed that they had to help me.
The service was amazing! The location couldn't be more ideal! The shuttle for the marathon was right behind the hotel. The finish line was right on the pier. Perfect place to just walk to 3rd St. promenade to carb up before the race. The room was quiet and comfortable. There was quite a bit of construction going on so parking was a bit confusing. We had to move our car before 11pm to the public parking garage. Also, late check out was not available, so if you are not staying that night of the marathon you would need to check out that morning and have them hold your luggage.
Great location to everything. Friendly staff and one block from the Ocean. Very pricey. Parking was $42 a night with tax!
-Very friendly and helpful staff! -Rooms have been nicely updated and were nicer than I expected -AMAZING location, especially for the price! -Was able to check in prior to 4pm and extend checkout to 12pm -Free breakfast foods and coffee in the lobby (we didn't take advantage, but I didn't know they would be provided) -Able to hold our bags between checkout and our flight (thank you!) Overall very satisfied and plan on staying here again. Looking forward to their lobby update to match the rooms! Lobby is currently very, very minimal but looks like it'll be nice when finished! -Remodeling and there is no lobby (just keep that in mind) -Because we booked through Kayak, the hotel was not able to guarantee a double room booking, even though I paid extra for two beds -Did end up receiving a room with a king bed and pull out couch. King bed was very comfortable. Couch was very uncomfortable -I would NOT book this room through Kayak! Call Wyndham directly. Between the hotel and the third party, you'll get stuck in the middle if they can't promise a double bed. Each will tell you to call the other service and that there is nothing they can do, leaving you potentially in the lurch.
Comfy bed, proper hair dryer, complimentary fast wifi in room, complimemtary dressing gowns, ipod docking station in room, facilities excellant, location is perfect for pier/beach as you are literally across the road, also very near 3rd street too for shops and reataurants. Staff very helpful and friendly.. Would defiently stay here again and again. I couldnt stay longer!!
I like how close it is to the Santa Monica Pier. It really is very close to it. I booked a King bed...and when I got there I was told there weren't any. I think the worst thing possible for a hotel, is to place a reservation and then have that reservation be unexpectedly modified.
Very secure. Clean and comfortable.
The location was great only a short walk to the pier. The rooms were clean enough. There was a pool. The elevator worked. The elevator was busy during the day with cleaning staff. Our rooms didn't get clean until very late in the day and then barely. There was a pool but no one told us how to find it. There was a resturant in the hotel but no signs for it or any thing in the information in the room about its even being there. I paid extra for the ocean view witch was almost none existent. Not my best experience with Wyndham
Very good location. Beds are too small and the parking charge is absolutely ridiculous. That alone would keep me from staying with you again.
