Lovely array of food for breakfast, helpful staff arranged for transportation to and from the train station, since we had no car. Although we didn't have a chance to use the pool, it looked inviting. The room was large and included robes. We ate dinner one night at the hotel as well, which was very good. There's a good clothing store nearby, too.
There was no elevator on our side of the building, so it could be an issue for people with disabilities or older guests.
Svetlana, courtesy, quality
The breakfast was complete and very good with a proper omelet station. Fresh juices would have been nicer. During the mornings, an older couple manages the front desk, and they are very capable and helpful. Perhaps they are the owners, and if so, should hire more people like them to work at reception.
Where to start: firstly, when you go to the Black Forest, you do not expect a hotel in the middle of the city without any green whatsoever. Secondly, the decor of the bedrooms and the bathrooms do not seem to have been updated since the 1970’s. The carpets are old and worn. There are no light blocking curtains. The beds and bedding are very comfortable, however. Also, some staff barely speak German or English and there is absolutely no one at reception after 10pm. This is not,?by any stretch of the imagination, a 4-star Hotel. Finally, our room was on the third floor, no elevator, and nowhere in the booking was this detailed. What do you do if you have limited mobility? There are much better hotels in the region.
Our room was clean, big and comfortable. Nice pool and outdoor sauna.
Breakfast buffet a bit poor for a hotel category. Some room for improvement of food quality ( some tomatoes were over ripe) and arrangement as well (simple pilling of deli is not very attractive). On our day one croassons on first come basis! Boking half board was not possible, but we were recommended to eat a' la carte in a hotel restorant. Which was fully booked when we arrived from hiking in the afternoon. Unfortunately, yonug staff at arrival obviously forget to inform us about this possibility. Very unpleasant experience in a small village with scarce food offer! As outdoor sauna is really nice it is a pitty there is no cold pool only one feeble shower next to the empty barrel that could be easily filled with cold water.
Very comfortable bed and warm staffs
