Located in Songpan, 18 km from Mounigou Scenic Area, Emma's Guesthouse provides accommodation with a restaurant and free private parking. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. This pet-friendly hostel also has free WiFi. All units in the hostel are equipped with a kettle. The area is popular for cycling, and car hire is available at Emma's Guesthouse. The nearest airport is Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport, 32 km from the accommodation.
Cons: the electric blanket. they should switch to heater.
Pros: Nice and helpful people. Emma speaks great english! They have a cosy restaurant as well. We liked the bathroom a lot!
Cons: the food, they serve in the Restaurant, is good but quite expensive compared to local restaurants
Pros: My friends reccommended this hostel to me and it was a good choice. It was very cozy and minutes from the bus station and minutes from the town. The family running the hostel were also very nice. The food was also good but a tad bit overpriced. Very convenient hostel.
Cons: I felt that the hostel was disingenuous when promoting transportation to nearby attractions, it was off season and their prices for a private driver/taxi were extremely overpriced. I and other backpackers decided to not use their transporation and they were a bit passive aggressive about it. Ask a random taxi driver on the street or by the bus station to take you to wherever and they will for a lower price. They will glady take AND wait for you as you explore.
Pros: Great place, big and comfy room, very pleasant stuff, good food.
Cons: The food was a bit expensive
Pros: Near the bus station
Cons: Hot water took 20mins to come. Bed was cold without electric blanket. I've to constantly ask for water from the staff as there's no water dispenser. Staff seem to prefer western tourists though.
Pros: Very pleasant personal - owners, vegy good food, coffee, sorbet, nice common space.
Cons: Maybe rooms could be a little bit more comfortable.
Pros: The guesthouse is within walking distance from the bus station and to the Ancient town. Owner speaks fluent English. We stayed in a twin room with private bathroom and there is heating lamps in the bathroom.
Cons: The property is not well maintained. The room is half painted and they never make our beds or changed our towels during our 3 nights stay. There is no heating in the room but they do provide electric blanket. Wifi was slow and kept disconnecting.
Pros: Very pleasant personal and common spaces.
Pros: Upgraded to private room. Located right by the bus station. Helpful and friendly staff
Cons: There was a problem with the drain in the ensuite so we could smell sewage
Pros: Cute kitty you can relax with in their garden. They offer fresh dinner (20 yuan) and breakfast (10 yuan). Bathrooms and dorm are clean. Highly recommended if you are looking to sit back relax and trying to find a hostel further from the city center for some peace and quiet.
Cons: Further away from the city center, it’s about a 30 minute walk.
Pros: It was very clean and reminded us of staying in a small cabin. The heated mats kept us warm throughout the night!
Cons: The location is not the exact same as mentioned on our app.
Pros: Amazing experience! The family who runs the hostel are the loveliest people Ive met in China. So helpful and good people even though the englis is not perfect. It's a small village hostel, don't expect it to be like the big hostels in the cities. I loved my time there and extended my stay there to see more of the area. I met a driver called Ban Ker (phone 139 9041 7229) who took me to Huanglong Valley the first day and then a beautiful waterfall and a lake/hot spring park close to Songpan the second day. Each day was 260rmb and time was around 8-16 or 17 each day. Highly recommend both. It took me about 7-10 minutes to walk to the inner city wall where the restaurants and markets are. Got a very welcoming receiving from everybody in town and played some basketball with local teens. Google maps location for the hostel is off by 1 minute walking. Send them a message and they will help you find it or pick you up like they did in my case. They also booked a bus ticket for me back to Chengdu. I appreciate everything so thank you!
Pros: It was very cosy and in a very pretty setting
Cons: It was situated a bit too far out of town
Pros: The family were lovely even with limited English very helpful and kept popping in with fresh fruit from the garden.
Cons: It was a bit far out from the old town and hard to find initially
Pros: The staff that own and run the hostel are EXTREMELY friendly. They made us feel at home the moment we arrived and paid lots of attention to detail. The food they served us was made with love and fresh ingredients from their property. Whenever we arrived back at the hostel they were always there to greet us with huge smiles and made sure that we had eaten. They helped us organise a driver for a great price to take us around to the tourist attractions, it was definitely cheaper than what we got quoted elsewhere. The room was super cosy and the beds are surprisingly comfortable for Chinese beds.
Pros: Good bed. The daugther speaks a little English.
Cons: Very noisy, you can hear your neighbours breath. And the worst thing is the rooster witch starts at 3 in the morning. So bad sleeping!
Pros: I like the friendly atmosphere the moment I enter. They were helpful though not very good in English but they try to help me in all way from ticket booking to drop me till I catch the bus. Very nice place and comfortable bed. Peaceful atmosphere. Would love to visit again.
Pros: The family owning the hostel was really welcoming, very nice to us and offering help and advice anytime. The woman can also speak a decent english. The courtyard inside the hostel was open and very relaxing. The rooms were nice and clean. The atmosphere was quiet, good for having a rest.
