This hotel is clean and has a great location. You're 20 minutes from downtown and the airport. You're outside of the congestion of the city, but close enough tof get to all that's great about Detroit! I had to call the front desk to have my room cleaned one day. Housekeeping came at 9 in the morning, and when we we said we didn't need anything at that time, they never came back to clean our room while we were out. They came after 7 PM after we called the front desk to complain.
The room was spacious and clean. It was quiet at least when construction was not happening. 15 minutes from downtown Detroit and close to other cities but not really "in" Detroit. Some state police were staying there so I parked next to their patrol cars just in case. A noon checkout time was also very flexible. Details details... There was construction on every floor instead of one floor at a time so you couldn't get away from the noise. They didn't start until about 11am which is considerate however we got in at about 3am so it was not the wake up call I was looking for. The TV remote only worked sporadically. Again, not the end of the world but another frustration. We had an issue with our key card and the response was "do you want a cookie?" Not in a rude way by any means but really? The bathroom door had to be shoved closed and the vending machine was completely empty. We also purchased a Starbucks bottled drink from the gift shop that had been expired for two months. Those don't keep well. And for the love of God please take the "Detroit girlz" shirt out of the gift shop window. It's a double tree, not a dollar tree.
The hotel is inclusive, and the rooms are clean. Most of the staff I encountered were friendly. Overall, the stay was a good experience. Some areas seem to not be updated and well taken care of. The pool room was empty of clean towels, dirty towels were scattered around, and the hot tubs were outdated and not as warm as most hot tubs.
Room wasn't ready on time. Someone's else's dirty washcloth was on tub. I was billed for grill food and was never at grill. I told staff in the morning but still watching to make sure I get the credit for the restaurant charges!!
The staff were really helpful, and did what was necessary to make our stay comfortable. There are a couple of food places in the plaza that the hotel is in, which makes life easier. Overall, it was a great stay and would stay there again.
I liked the getaway vibe of the hotel, it was just what I needed. It seemed like a slow night so thankfully it was quiet with the occasional slam of a door in the hallway. The warm cookie is always a plus Going out in the evening was a blast but it seemed like the staff disappeared after 9pm. It seemed like a ghost town and a bit unsafe.
Great warm cookies. Comfortable beds. Excellent A/C. Nice work out facility & pool. Too many pubic hairs in the tub. Makes one a bit leery for taking a bath.
Staff when i checked in was great. Offered me a cookie, chips, and water. Very service oriented. There was some hair in the bathtub when i arrived to my room.
Great restaurant that gladly provided excellent vegan meals. Poor housekeeping staff.
The water was hot and the mini bar fridge worked. Room service was lovely and pillows were nice. Lobby was lovely and staff professional. What a horrid, rundown dump. Hallways reeked of mildew, carpeting was dirty, marble stained, bathroom reeked of stale urine, towels were worn and one stained w red fingernail polish, bed was as hard as a rock, and I felt itchy all night like bugs were biting me. The room was super noisy and we heard every person who walked by, and doors slamming all night! When we came back to hotel from a private party at 11:15pm, there was no parking available and no valet service...when we inquired if there even was a valet, the bellhop told us he didn't know anything about it. Overpriced, even w a 50% discount. This is s one star hotel at best. I will NEVER return.
Wonderfully relaxing, nice pool area. Room was beautiful and bed was very comfortable. Bathrooms and showers were lovely. Parking was awkward. Only in the back of the building and not even big enough to park full capacity. Breakfast was also awkward as they had a difficult time working during a busy rush of people. Did make it up to us by giving us free lunch.
This year I chose the Dearborn Inn for annual visit to the auto show, based on history, location, and consistently good reviews. I was not disappointed at all. Despite some smell of cigarette smoke in our hallway, everything else was great. The daily breakfast was fantastic and well worth the additional charge. Can't wait to visit in the summer when the pool is open.
Beautiful hotel, chock full of history. Staff was wonderful, restaurant, particularly breakfast was above par. Bed comfy and all of the usual J.W. Marriott amenities. Room was dated (it is a historic hotel, right?) so that made it a bit too small for two people. The bathroom was microscopic with minimal counter space. I would say that for one person, it was the right size. If they have a suite that would be better for two people. Otherwise great hotel and great staff. Also, beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Like everyone else is saying, this place charges you for the internet AND COFFEE. They have the little coffee makers but only supply you with limited cream and sugar, no big deal but its a fancy hotel coffee should be limitless and free in the lobby. The rooms were extremely small even for 2 people. The bed was small and the bathroom......small with no exhaust fan. Asthetically beautiful hotel. The staff was amazing at your beck and call, except the front desk. The first night we checked in teh YOUNG KID acted like he really didnt care for us there. The food was sub par I have had better food at diners with similar prices. Would I recommend it.........I dont have knowledge of the other hotels in detroit but if the other hotels are clean and cheap, then I would recommend other hotels.
Smack in the middle of Ford development land, this beautiful hotel has been well maintained and seemingly updated on a regular bases. A part from the classic mouldings, doors, and handles, there is nothing that makes this place feel old. I loved the room layout and couldn't have asked for more from this treasure of the past.
As usual our dinner was fabulous. The food and service is outstanding!!

I visited the Inn just for a relaxing weekend . The room was beautiful and the staff was extremely pleasant. Room service was top quality. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
When we got to the hotel the room rate was $70.00 per night more than what was quoted on the internet. We were not correctly informed where the package breakfast was to be provided at, hence being charged for breakfast.
I thought the staff was trying to make up for the shortcomings that the Marriot chain placed on them. There were several areas of concern. The first was the charge for internet service while in your room; I've stayed in much less expensive hotels where internet service was free. The 2nd bothersome item was the noise created by the air conditioning unit. I thought I was at the airport with planes taking off. The room was clean however the hallways were not. And finally, why do they provide the cheapest toilet paper known to man. Awful!!!!
Air vents were fifth. Heater would not heat above 71 degrees. Hotel did not have elevator in the cottages.
Historic style complements the gracious service offered by every staff member. The site itself is a trip back in time, with a calm and restful atmosphere. Meals at both the grille and the restaurant were well-prepared and served. As a woman traveling alone, I felt perfectly safe and comfortable in all areas of the property. Every employee -- desk, maintenance, housekeeping, food service -- was cordial and willing to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I would return without hesitation.
We were in town for the NCAA tourney and booked a number of rooms at this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found The Dearborn Inn to be perfect for a gathering of friends. The common areas were spacious and graciously appointed, the bar was lots of fun, and our room was especially nice (newly renovated). We enjoyed a bountiful and reasonably priced breakfast buffet and also dinner in the more formal Early American Dining Room (a little pricey but wonderful). Great location midway between airport and downtown, just a short drive to The Henry Ford Museum as well as shopping and dining in Dearborn. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lots of charm and class for the money.

The room was a amazing. The bathroom was beautiful. Bed was comfortable. Overall it was a Pleasent stay. You could hear the people coming and going through out the night. Slamming the doors. And there were little black flies, almost like fruit flies, flying around in the bathroom and bedroom.

My room was clean, smoke-free, quiet and on the 22nd floor. The elevators worked well, they had a key security. Couldn't go pass casino floor without key card. Free valet, in room service and breakfast pre-order. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my stay and will return! Room service and free valet

Close enough to walk to Tiger's games. While approaching our room we could hear neighboring couple and son yelling and being loud. We turned right around and went back to front desk where we were quickly reassigned a quiet room overlooking downtown and Comerica Park.
The view we got was amazing. The staff was excellent and so accommodating. I mentioned it was my birthday and they were so nice to be sure that we had an amazing view. Heard loud music all night. Not sure if it was from bars outside or from neighbors? Couldn't tell.
The room was fairly clean with the exception of someones fake eyelashes on the floor which was pretty gross. The fact that my sister and I had a marathon early in the morning. The loud neighbors were rude and inconsiderate. I called security on them once, however they kept being loud. My sister and I got at most, an hour of sleep.
When visiting any hotel, the staff make up 80% of the overall experience. The staff here at Greektown were my only friendly, but also incredibly accommodating and informative. If I had reasonable questions, they found me an answer as well as provided knowledge on getting around the city. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was a memorable and satisfying one. Will definitely be returning in the future.
Room at night had big spotlights we weren't told about upon check out. Had to close drapes and it was still lighting up the room. Just terrible

-Loved the pool and spa facility. the room was fantastic, loved the bathroom. access to restaurants and the casino were great as we did not have to go far to get drinks or food. -Drinks were very inexpensive and of good quality. Our cocktail waitress, Autumn, who worked at the Axis lounge was very very kind and hard working. she checked on us many times so we could enjoy our time on the couches without having to get up to order drinks. -we are a gay couple, and felt safe staying at the hotel. Although when I made phone calls I was called "Mr.Johnson" a number of times. -there really needs to be a mini fridge or cooler that we can put leftover food and items in. we were traveling by car so a lot of our items would go to waste. -security guards at living room entrance, there needs to be more consistency in them knowing what all of the guest room key cards look like. we were questioned about being guests because we had cards that said "TAP" on them, and the security guard had only seen ones that said "AXIS" on them. plus no other guard stopped us like that. -having bathrobes in our room would have been a plus because we went to the spa so often but had to walk down in just bathing suits and wet towels.

The room is spacious. Along with great walk in showers. Great casino but seemed like dance club more than about shows or amenities. Wonderful employees very helpful and curtious. Valet is highly recommended. The slowness of elevators after a sporting event is a downer but small inconvenience. Few things that I noticed could be better. Lots of waisted space. Areas of casino seamed like could've been better. Wish they had shuttle to the two stadiums near by comerica park and ford field. Shuttle to and from airport rather than taxi would've been a great addition to the hotel. Overall 5 star hotel. Do wish they had all night buffet because most sporting events get out after their restaurants 11pm closing time but things that could be small upgrades to their hotel
I was there for a wedding and it was centrally located to everything. The door men and valet were extremely personableand very nice. I would have given it 5 stars all around, however, the front desk check in staff did not inform us of the shuttle provided by the wedding until asked and they did not tell us the correct times so we missed the bride walking down the aisle.

We had a three hour wait in line to check in before the Lions game. Once we checked in, our room was not ready and we received no discount on the room for it not being available for the entire reservation time frame. The staff was slow and very unaccommodating. Completely unacceptable.

The room was comfortable and very attractive. The bathroom was quite nice. No free internet unless you joined Starwoods and when I did I got an email confirmation in Arabic! Which freaked me out. The desk staff said they didn't know what to do and maybe it was some problem with my email. I pointed out it was only the one from Starwoods. The breakfast staff were very attentive, but the meal was overpriced for the quality.

Lovely accommodations in an iconic Detroit hotel. Great bar, great restaurants, friendly staff, beautiful rooms. Spa does not match the quality of the hotel. The space is small, cramped, and dark; the equipment mismatched and broken. Friendly staff, but disappointing experience overall.

They were very accommodating, had a little market with snacks, and always had hot cocoa, tea, and coffee available no matter the time of day. The complimentary breakfast wasn't too bad either. One of the staff, Hassam I believe, wasn't very good at explaining how the deposit worked. It was a little frustrating. Aside from that, nothing really negative to say.
Breakfast was amazing! The issue we had was fixed immediately. The keyless doors were great, not having to stick the key info the for was a great benefit to us with young children. Check in wasn't until 3
The room was nice-- modern and spacious. We stayed on a Saturday night. As we entered the lobby, it was absolutely chaotic. There were children running around, people were loud and boisterous and the area wasn't clean. Also the elevator is quite small and needed cleaning. We got to our room, and there were several parties going on across from us, next to us and on the floor above us. It was extremely noisy and we couldn't sleep. I called the front desk and complained. They said they would send someone up right away, but the noise continued. I would not stay here again for this reason.
Nothing. We had booked this hotel via kayak. When we arrived to the hotel after being tired from traveling we approached the two ladies at the desks. The one lady asked us if we were checking in and we said yes. She then asked if we had a reservation and we said that yes we did. She asked for the last name which we gave her (and spelled for her) and she very rudely looked at us and said "What???" So I spelled it for her very slowly again. She then rudely said "Just give me yo ID". So we did. She then said "When did ya"ll make this reservation??" I said "Earlier today, I can give you the confirmation number..." She then interrupted me and said "No we don't have no rooms, we full". I said "Well can you look at the confirmation number maybe..." Interrupted again "Nothing I can do, contact whoever you got the reservation from." So we left. So rude. Not willing to help us find another place or work with us. Nothing. Contacted kayak and they were amazing. Refunded us the cost and helped us find a hotel.

Neat historical building, nice view and location on the riverwalk. Staff was a little quiet, tried answering when asked but almost had to draw things out of them. Felt like I was imposing a little bit.
You guys set me up with an agency who doubled booked me. I would recommend following up with the various agencies first to see if your customers actually stayed at the hotel, instead of shooting out these emails that don't make you look good.
Room was clean I reserved a riverfront room and I received a room on the parking lot. Service at desk was painfully slow to check in.
The receptionist was very accommodating regarding mistakes that I had made in the online booking and took care of me and my five year old son promptly. i would have liked a heavier blanket and the pillows were very big and puffy for my neck.

I stayed here for my honeymoon. I asked for room to be clean and sheets changed the 2nd day. 3 hours later when I came back it had not been cleaned. spoke with various front desk staff and they were not friendly at all. Eventually it was cleaned after going back and forth with the staff.
Staffs were really friendly. Bed was very dirty/they did not wash the sheet/they also did not clean carpet. room was very very dirty ever i had seen.
Excellent location on River Walk; still some rough patches in the neighborhood, but very promising locale. Older brick building has character, high ceilings, deep window sills. Staff I interacted with was friendly and accommodating and did their best to guide guests through the travails of sub-par facility Problems with the older building have not been corrected in the remodel. Water and heating/cooling system are poor. Maintenance of facility is sub-standard (faucets were loose and dripping, for example). Cleanliness could be improved - baseboards were dusty/dirty, bedding was stained, sticky surface on table, etc. Given its location and possibilities to be a much higher-end boutique hotel, remodel should have been of higher quality, from systems upgrades to carpeting, furnishings, amenities, etc.
The hotel was falling apart. In my room alone, there was wallpaper falling off of the walls, unfinished trim, damage to the walls, electrical sockets that were loose in the walls, all of the buttons were missing from the phone, and the quality of the picture on the television was terrible. I have no plans to stay here again, regardless of its value or its proximity to downtown Detroit.
The location was nice and the view Well the first night was ok they didn't have a mini refrigerator in the room I would think $160+ regular price that it would be included, and they wanted to charge us 20$ a night to rent the mini refrigerator.. The first room we were in had these shear white curtains, looked nice bad idea. Especially if you're a late sleeper. None of the rooms had hand soap in the bathroom, either one of are rooms didn't have heat or air conditioning. Our tv didn't really work in the 2nd room, and we didn't "do not disturb signs. My biggest issue with the hotel was I didn't feel secure enough to leave my Car in their lot. Two cars got stripped in the parking lot left on bricks all four tires gone, I asked where security was he said he was inside. Inside for two cars to be stripped of their tires. I felt unsafe and I definitely won't be staying at this hotel again
Front desk staff, hot tub/pool, beautiful hotel Rooms need serious updating and cleaning. The restaurant staff seemed to ignore us during breakfast and catered to the people who didn't look like us. We had to ask for everything...juice, menu, etc. While it was simply offered to others.
All the staff was very friendly. It was very nice lobby area. The view was ok. Loved that they had exercise equipment over looking the pool so i could workout and watch my kids swim at the same time. The pool is not located in a good spot. You have to walk through the lobby past every one to get there. It would be nice if there was a more private way to get there.
nothing - had wedding there 25 years ago so wanted to go there on the anniversary - very bad experience. the hotel should be shut down in current state no a/c maintence came as that the way all room are, soft and poor bed ,old creaky fixture in bathroom, rude staff and were frowned upon because we made reservation via 'third party. Shameful experience for our 25th anniversary. kayak
The overall look of the hotel is great. It has a glossy exterior and the lobby could be awesome. Not clean. Poorly kept up, some very outdated amenities and rooms. Carpet ripped and dirty in many areas. Broken shower head in our room. Pool was freezing and worn...in need of refurbishing. Nice hotel, just needs a lot of work to make it great.
Overall, the hotel is fine. It would go a long way to get some updates and better service persons and management. Training is needed here. Hardly a 3 star hotel, getting by on its previous prestige. For those unaware of the prior details, it probably is a bargain and seems quite nice. Spent 40 minutes waiting to check-in. One person working desk with 20 customers in line. Second woman eventually showed up and helped. Woman who appeared to be management was present, but instead of helping with the long line of waiting guests, decided that it was more important to count the cash in the drawer than to help the tired folks waiting in a long, slow moving line. Small details like the outdated / worn carpet in the halls, stained carpet by the ice machine, peeled back covering on the elevator controls in the center of the floor...this all gets overlooked with good customer service. Poor customer service makes this stand out in my mind.
And it is maintained exceptionally well. It is the best value in the area. Great launching platform for the Henry Ford Museum.
Looks like a high end hotel. Doesn't disappoint. Nice lobby. Our room was clean and spacious. On the way to our room noticed some tears in the carpet, but it didn't reflect in our room.

The room was very nice - the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. They had a nice breakfast buffet too. We only spent one night but if I had to stay here for any length of time it would be a nice place to stay. It is right off the highway so it was easy access to get around.
The hotel was clean in expected Marriott style. Great location. Rooms were a good size with nice amenities. The staff was absolutely terrible. From the person who checked in my party inccorectly to the night manager at the front desk who treated us terribly. The check out process was an absolute mess, mainly due to the unprofessional empliyee the front desk. The service from the front desk staff will be the reason I never stay at this hotel again.

With the concert and tigers game the hotel was booked solid. The staff was amazing! Great stay! They all did great job of managing so many guests in house. Everything and Every staff member was great!
The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was like that of a $100 per night hotel. Valet service was very slow. Room service was slow. Food delivered to the hotel had to be picked up in the lobby. This is a nice hotel, but for the price paid I expected it to be much nicer. It certainly was not the getaway that we were expecting.
The location of the Marriott in the Renaissance Center is great for seeing Downtown Detroit. It's near the river, which provides some awesome and beautiful views. I liked the tall ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows as well. I came with friends for Movement and the hotel was packed to the gills. There was also a volleyball tournament going on the same week, so the hotel was out of extra beds. Our room didn't even have a fridge, which was absolutely ludicrous. We had to buy a temporary cooler for our food and drink. Other than that, it was a pretty nice stay despite the hotel being low on supplies. But they should be prepared for such rushes if they know ahead of time how busy it will be.

Spent an hour in line to check in & elevators were a nightmare. Not good for late night food options other than pizza delivery. A hotel this large should be equipped to handle its guests! Very disappointed!
Views from rooms are amazing. Conveniently located. Volt, the hotel restaurant, staff needs to be retrained. Service was terrible. Waitress only came once to table. A different waitress had to get our bill after we asked and she overcharged us. This really put a damper on the trip for us
I love the lounge area. It's beautiful and we sat for hours and talked. Even though I paid online for the room prior to staying at the hotel. Marriott held from my acct an additional full room rate charge for 5 days even though I had a zero balance.
Location from Ford Field was decent Dirty room, no kid friendly restaurant, short on beds (wrong room) oversold, check in for two hours (long lines) slow valet, no room service available, asked 6 times until roll away beds were delivered since we only had 1 bed to 4 people.
Great staff, great location, great hotel. Can't wait to come back.

The staff was pleasant and helpful from the moment we arrived. Everyone from the desk to the cleaning crew had smiles and suggestions. My husband and I will definitly stay here when visiting the city again!

Location was close to he Ford Museum and easy to find. Free shuttle from motel. The staff was friendly and helpful answering any questions about the area and recommendations. Lastly, the breakfast was great!

Convenience to the Greenfield Village and Museum. The shuttle service to both. Breakfast buffet was not all that great. Food in chafing dishes was lukewarm and one morning the biscuits were hard. Also had problem with air conditioning in room. Asked front desk on two occasions to check it out and not done. Left early.

It's close to Warren St where most of the Middle Eastern stores are located. This hotel was rated by 8 and the cleanliness was poor and the room smells very bad.
We enjoyed the pool. The hotel is located very close to the Ford attractions, which is why we picked this hotel. The breakfast was great - there were many choices and lots of seating. The room was small and not very clean. The carpet in the hallway was stained badly.

Great location-20 min to downtown Detroit, 30 min to Ann Arbor,1 mile to Henry Ford Museum. Restaurants, grocery store, nearby. Swimming pool a plus! Excellent brkst included. Clean hotel, cozy beds. Friendly staff. Perfect for families.

For the location and price, it was well worth the money. I would recommend this particular location to anyone possibly looking for an overnight stay. I had to call to the front desk for more tissue. Not enough in the room.

This is a nice place to stay. I would definitely stay there again. It was close to a grocery store, which was nice since there is a kitchen in the room. Everyone was very helpful in giving directions or suggestions for activities. They were just a little annoying when my flight got in earlier than expected and I wanted to check in before 3 pm.
Kitchenette Parking was not sufficient. I had to walk from rear of my building.

We stayed there 6 years ago and had a great experience so when we booked this trip the were our first choice. It has really changed in 6 years; houskeeping did not refresh our room one full day and when I inquired on the 2nd day the housekeeper seemed confused and then said okay only to yell down the hall at me to say, 'But towels only'. On our last day at 10:30am with our do not disturb sign on the door they came into our room anyways--this time is way before the noon check out time. Very disappointed and will not return.
We were in Dearbon for a funeral and this hotel was the only one in the area that could provide me with a two room suite to accomodate my entire family . There were great restaurants near by and a wallmart for all the items we forgot.The real prize was that we were only seven (7) minutes from the deceased family members home.
Great location convenient to many attractions and events. Walls are thin so noise travels some. Our room was by an exit, when guests entered or left the door slam noise was loud.

The double room suites are incredible! They're huge and feel very modern. This place and the staff are all very nice. $15 to park next door at a lot that advertises $10 rates.

We were in town for a national conference just a few blocks away at the Cobo Center. Upon check-in the staff was super friendly and helpful. They even gave us a warm cookie. We were close to the stadiums, food places and downtown. The room was massive! The beds were in a seperate closed off area, so people could congregate in the sitting area if needed. Definitely worth the month compared to other hotels around the area. Having to pay 30 dollars a night to park.
The valet guys were super polite and awesome, asked me how my stay was and everything. Never brought us toilet paper, towels, or pillows. Had to call them 3 times if I needed anything because they would just never show up. Front desk lady was so rude, didn't even take my complaints into consideration. I come to Detriot every weekend for work and last week I stayed at a $60 a night hotel that had WAY BETTER service than this $200 a night hotel! Don't waste your money! I wish I could get mine back after how these people treated us! OH I shouldn't forget that on our last day when we called the luggage cart up the lady made my 9 month pregnant friend roll it down and put the luggage in the car without helping her at all! I will NEVER come back here!
