Everything seemed old and outdated. My room was dirty and the bathroom was musty. I’m normal height and I had to duck to fit under the shower head. Sky at the front desk was not very personable or helpful.
Pros. Our entire stay was great.
Cons. I don't like that at check in and check out we were not informed about a $25 per day incidentals charge that I just happened to notice on my credit card. I called and was told there would be a credit coming which was over a week ago and I still have not seen a credit.
Pros. My kids had a lot of fun at the indoor/outdoor pool and free arcade. The breakfast buffet was excellent; the made-to-order omelets and waffles were delicious.
Cons. The staff was terrible and I was charged three times for a room I did not receive. They gave my room to someone else.
Pros. We all were extremely impressed with the level of luxury for the cost of the stay. The pools were clean, warm, and beautiful. Wood floors, pillowtop mattresses, and ceiling fans brought all the comforts of home together in the room itself. Breakfast was filling and delicious although I would have preferred a tidier eating environment. The floors in restaurant were dirty and the wait staff was inattentive. Having said that, the stay overall was more than satisfactory and Clayton Plaza will be where we'll stay when we visit STL in the future.
Pros. The staff here are very nice and work hard to accommodate guests. And the wifi is free, which in this day and age should always be the case. Breakfast was OK.
Cons. For less cost, I could have gotten a more respectable experience at a Holiday Inn. My first room was so dismal (drawer fronts falling off, sink in the main room, so far from the lobby on the first floor that it felt like a basement) that I asked to be moved. The second room was an improvement, but the bathroom sink didn't drain (annoying when brushing teeth) and in general both rooms were outdated and worn. The bathrooms badly need updating. There was little to delight this hotel guest.
Pros. Free wifi included. Beds are really comfortable. Dual sinks. Good water pressure. Close to everything we needed. Nice interior
Cons. Elevators are confusing. Street noise is loud and comes through even on 4th floor.
Pros. The breakfast omelet was made to your liking right in front of you and buffet was real food and the indoor/outdoor pool was nice and warm while steam came off my head outdoor on a morning swim we will be back
Pros. No carpeting in rooms. I hate carpeting! Free airport shuttle! Looks like they "might" be remodeling? Saw construction workers, but only in one room.
Cons. Pergo flooring versus hardwood. Dirty hallways, multiple items scratched, dinged or falling apart. Mishmash of styles: trying to be a nice hotel and failing miserably! Dirty!
