Pros: The surroundings were nice, people in the village were nice apart from her.
Cons: The lady was rude, she welcomed us in a really bad way. First she was making fun of us because we couldn't understand her properly when she was speaking in Chinese. She also entered our room when we were out for dinner. We were chocked to see her closing our door in a hurry. Really bad experience.
Pros: The manager was really helpful. He contacted me in advance and gave me tips how to get to the hotel. We communicated in Chinese, because I speak a little, and I think it would be difficult to get around the island if you don't speak any Chinese. I think I was the only foreigner in the village when I was there. The hotel is very close to the beach, the beach is free and there are not many people (but I was there during the week, maybe it is different in the weekend). There are many places to eat there, and the seafood is really delicious! From the hotel I also walked up the mountain to the Temple (I saw it from the beach, and it is actually not very far, you can take the steps up the mountain, there is a sign, it took me maybe 10-15 minutes). The Temple is very beautiful. You can also rent bikes and motorbikes near the beach. There are drivers who offer to take you to see the sunrise to the lighthouse, it is soooo beautiful! Overall, it was a great experience. It is a perfect getaway from Shanghai: warm sea, delicious food and beautiful scenery!
Cons: I am not used to sleeping on such hard beds (no matress), but they say it is good for your back :)
