Hotel Maxim is situated in the heart of De Panne in a quiet neighbourhood and has a seventies look&feel. The beach is only 300 metres away and you can easily walk to the city centre. Free Wifi is featured throughout the entire property. The hotel offers renovated rooms with a private bathroom with a bath. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace to sit outside. Breakfast is served in buffet style with several rolls and bread kinds. Start the day with cereals, yoghurt, fruit salad, and several tasty spreads. Boiled eggs are available. The hotel bar is worth a visit when you feel like having a drink. During the summer, there is a possibility to enjoy your drink in the garden. A variety of restaurants are situated around the hotel that can provide a tasty evening dinner. Restaurant Cajou, near the hotel, offers excellent fish, crayfish and grill specialities. By car or by tram, you can reach Plopsaland in 8 minutes. There's a lift in the building that allows you to go to the private parking space.
Proximity to the beach and public transport facilities
They argue the hotel has been renovated. This only applies to the room to have breakfast/lunch/dinner in. Carpets (especially the one of the stairs) and rooms are old and the mattress of my bed had a "V" shape making sleeping very uncomfortable.
The hotel needs renovation
The hotel was very nice, staff were very friendly. Our room was a bit basic but clean
Hotel Maxim, Cajou, Europa, are operated by the same owner, as I understood, I booked for Hotel Maxim, but it closes for the winter season. so I was told to stay in its sister hotel, Cajou, on my way to the town. I was not very happy about that initially, but offset soon after I arrived. The staff is friendly, room is neat and comfort. later on, I found laundry services are free, close to tens of good restaurants, I spent a week there, so tried 10+ different restaurants, all are great, and even better than Brussels / Brugges' ones. Anyway, very good experience.
The Breakfast is a little bit toooo simple, also probably due to the low season.
it was fine but a bit too expensive. Room quality wasn't in line with the three stars value for the hotel, things were very old and staled (i.e. TV, lift) very narrow corridor and room.
breakfast was good and staff very pleasant
room was smaller than expected and bed was very hard
Helpful and polite staff
My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Maxim in De Panne for our last two nights following a tour of France and found the hotel and resort perfect. Parking is offered at the hotel but pstreet parking in the town is free and in mid June there was plenty of spaces.
Nothing to dislike about the Maxim and staff
lack of car parking
Convenient for the shops and beach, easy access, friendly staff, comfortable room
No tea or coffee making facilities in room
