Very comfortable bed , good shower , pleasant room . A little cold at times but heating was put on when we asked the staff . Staff were very friendly and willing to accommodate any requests . Dog friendly and able to take dog into restaurant and bar area .
Rather noisy of a night as could hear other quests in their rooms , walls must be quite thin. Menu rather limited if staying for more than two nights as long wait if hotel is busy .
Food is excellent, bed very comfy and brilliant shower
Friendly, nice room. Nice coffee making facilities in room. Good breakfast.
Location is quite remote but very scenic.
Tash and her colleagues were excellent and really looked after us. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. When we arrived we thought that the menu for the evening meal was a little upmarket which was born out but the chef changed at the end of the week and moved to a menu more in keeping with the location promoting local produce and proper pub grub. Breakfasts were excellent throughout our stay. Would definitely stay again.
At the start of the week, the food was somewhat pretentious but the chef changed and definitely for the better.
Very warm welcome and professional service from all the staff we met. Lovely traditional building, recently decorated rooms. Good selection of food on menu, well cooked and presented. Good selection of beers. Very dog friendly with no additional charge for the dog.
I found room 5 (an attic room) was quite cold at night time - the central heating was not yet on (early October) - an extra blanket would have been useful.
A 25-minute drive from Dorchester and Blandford Forum, The Fox Inn is a pretty inn in the Dorset countryside. This dog-friendly property has free parking and WiFi, and a full English breakfast is served in the garden room. Each guest room has en suite facilities with shower, hairdryer and complementary toiletries, and the superior king room also has a bath. All have a TV with DVD player and tea and coffee facilities. Full English breakfast is served each morning. The traditional restaurant has oak-panelled walls and offers a regularly changing menu using seasonal ingredients. There are indulgent Sunday lunches from the carvery every weekend, and a patio dining area overlooking the inn’s landscaped gardens. The Fox Inn is around 16 miles from historic Shaftesbury, and 20 miles from Yeovil in neighbouring Somerset. The coastal towns of Poole and Weymouth can both be reached by car in around 35 minutes.
