Found it very warming, staff was very friendly
Stayed here two nights, very clean, comfy beds, really good breakfasts and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Had dinner here as well which was fantastic and really good value.
Very friendly service, exceleent breakfast in a good location.
Excellent postion close to all amenities None
Good food, Good service, Spacious room Lousy tv reception on the four available channels. No central heating in bedroom - but an electric convection heater, which was adequate for the weather at the time.
Room comfortable, very quiet and peaceful location Very difficult to find at night. Limited breakfast food. Poor quality & expensive evening meals.
Great location in splendid isolation far from the madenning crowd with good food and welcoming staff.
Great location (for walks) Comfortable / clean in all aspects. Very good food and Bfst and evening. Fine selection of beer. Wonderful welcome by hosts. Perfect Inn for short break. None, although one would have liked selection of fresh fruit and low fat butter at breakfst. But this is being perhaps unfair as quality of food was first class.
We stayed bed and breakfast, and got up to have breakfast over looking the lovely garden. We found the staff all very helpful and friendly, and had dinner there once which was out of this world... Would definately recommend and will return! Window in our room didn't open but they had provided a fan, unfortunately we were having a heatwave!
Friendly and professional staff, excellent food, peace and tranquility. More like being a guest of friends than being in a hotel. None
Nice hotel in quiet location Creaky floorboards!!
Good ambience, in keeping with the building. Would have liked to have stayed longer Window would not shut properly.
The staff were friendly but not too much and the food was very nice with a good varied choice
The building and location is fantanic, a great homely and 'local' feel, the regulars and staff made me feel welcome
Decor of room was nice and staff friendly. Good food Window in room was broken - including glass! So window could not be opened, this meant even though fan had been provided room was far too hot and stuffy as weather was very warm at time. Would have been nice if this had been mentioned and apologised for and maybe a small air con unit put inroom.
Traditonal English hotel/ pub, in an lovely old building in a small village a short drive from Oxford. Staff were excellent, as were the rooms the breakfast and dinner. No individual thermostats in rooms, but very comfortable anyway. Food portions for dinner were adiquate but not generous.
Hotel is in a lovely location.Made to feel very welcome. Had 2 quiet, clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was extremely good. Will definitely return.
We thought the hotel was full of character & in a wonderful location for touring the area. The staff were helpful and polite. The room was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was really good although I thought the bar menu was quite limited and 1 of the starters I had was inedible.
The food was excellent and plentiful, room was comfortable and spacious and bed very comfortbale Unfortunately the hot water pipes ran through our room and the water temperature was almost boiling so the room became very hot especially in the evening and morning when hot water was being used.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast Car park poorly lit
The building is an old coaching in - higgledy-piggledy in a very charming way. I expected quite a small room but mine was very elegantly proportioned, interesting and comfortable. The staff were lovely, relaxed but very efficient. Nothing - all good. Except (entirely my own fault) I accidentally went to the wrong George at first - there is another, similarly a coaching inn, just down the road in Wallingford. Need to check th epostcode porperly before believing Googlemaps!
Lovely staff, huge, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast
Food was very good. Convenient location.
The public rooms and bar of the hotel were fine. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The position of the hotel in the High Street was excellent and, as I said, the public rooms had a pleasant ambience. Good breakfast. Our bedroom was in the 'grounds' rather than the hotel (we did not know this in advance). Dark&depressing, bathroom adequate. Shower did not work. Apart from an obviously addition of a nice bedspread and curtains, everywhere looked tired and needed a facelift. As there is a new manager in the hotel, these details may well be attended to. I would find it difficult to recommend this hotel in its present state because of the bedroom, which is a pity.
Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff
Clean, comfortable, quiet, good breakfast, convenient access to main trunk road Having to select breakfast night before, small tv (although quite adequate, room outlook was onto bank and trees which made room a little dark - however this was offset by being able to watch pheasants and rabbits at window level
Location, lovely building, friendly owner Nothing
Lovely setting, friendly staff, clean room. Room was cool, corridors were cold, and noise from next bedroom clearly heard. A stay in warmer weather may be much better.
High quality, very clean, very friendly host. That we had not booked a longer stay.
Clean, cosy and quiet. Tv reception (although not their fault!)
good freindly service good traditional food on main road
Bit cramped. Could hear other people in neighbouring rooms - but not noisy.
It was very comfortable and we were made to feel welcome. The food was excellent and though the evening meal was one choice, the four courses plus coffee were well cooked with local produce. Dietary needs were taken care of if discussed first. The two sitting rooms gave extra space where one could discuss the days activities. Also brochures and information were available to help plan the break The top floor, two flights of stairs could be a problem for those with special needs, though one lady with her dog for the blind was well catered for on the first floor.
The home cooked food was excellent and the staff very friendly The twin bedded room was quite small
the cooked breakfast very noisy traffic. breakfast times too early
Best B&B we have ever stayed in. Good sized rooms and bathrooms, very tastefully furnished and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and facilities and the owner make time to have a chat with their guests. Definitely hotel quality. thoroughly recommended.
Staff very friendly, room very comfortable and clean I would stay again and recommend No
Spotlessly clean, beautiful room, very convenient for our trip. None
It was fantastic. We had a weekend trip to the area and the b&b was just perfect. The room was huge and very comfortable. It's definitely a place where you want to go back. The owners are few of the nicest people I have ever met.
Food requirments that was asked for on booking was available, and sleeping problems mentioned on arrival, my room was changed to accommadate this. (3 good nights sleep) Noise from the main road if light sleeper in a room at the front of the premisies.
Very friendly ,Good Home Cooking, and Comfortable. Have stayed there before and would recomend it highly. None
Excelent room and breakfast.
The room was designated "superior" and it certainly was. It was large and well furnished with an extremely comfortable bed and walk-in shower. Our stay was during a very cold snap with snow on the ground, but one would never have known without looking out of the window as it was so warm. The breakfasts were wonderful and the owners very friendly and helpful. Within easy reach of such pleasant country towns as Dorchester and Sherborne, as well as the Dorset coast. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in.
relaxed atmosphere and freindly staff cutesy dolls and teddies in the rooms
at the summer lodge hotel, the staff made our stay so accomaditing, was a beautiful hotel and def go back
Good Food, Very good Wine, (Gosset Champagne) Difficulty in opening the Shampoo and Conditioner bottles.
The accommodation was thoughtfully presented with high quality toiletries, subtle lighting, fresh milk, daily ice bucket and homemade shortbread. The mirrored ceiling and the rather ordinary bed.
The cleanliness, bed quality, and quietness The accommodation was great,no problems
Great location and grounds, ultimate luxury for a relaxing stay Nothing
Clean and comfortable.
Staff were so friendly. always obliging we were well looked after.impressed with the cleanliness. no complaints whatsoever.
The helpfulness and warmth of our greeting by the staff on arrival. The food in the restaurant was disappointing with the main course having to be sent back and in any event the presentation was rather 'agricultural'.
location, service, breakfast car parking, noise,
Friendly and helpful staff: excellent food
Friendly staff on arrival and at breakfast. Excellent breakfast - well and freshly cooked. The only problem I could see was for those arriving by car - the parking is inadequate, and visitors should be warned of this - they are tired at the end of a journey and need to know in advance.
The Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The Hotel is situated in a convenient position for shopping and restaurants. We had no hot water on the Sunday morning and were unable to take a shower/bath.
It was a traditional hotel but well appointed, clean and well run. There was an excellent restuarant and bar, and well equipped bedrooms. My room had a nice deep bath, which was appreciated. The staff were friendly and efficient but not intrusive. there was also free newspaper delivered to your room in the morning, a cooked beakfast and free parking included in the price. The car park was small, and disabled access would be difficult - although I doubt that there is much that could be done about either.
ok advertised sky tv, but didn't have all terestrial channels and only a few sky channels
The staff were excellent, the room very comfortable and the food excellent. The road outside was very noisy and my sleep disturbed.
Good breakfast,staff extremely helpful.
