The room was large and very clean. The view was great! We could see the fireworks at the stadium one night even! It's a bit pricey, but was worth it
Our driver, Modesto, was AMAZING! Actually all of the staff was very welcoming and awesome :)
Gorgeous inside and out. Staff was professional and courteous . Hilton Americas is the best of the best. Short stay.
The location and proximity to MDAnderson Cancer Hospital was ok, less than 15 minutes to drive there. The decor, though older, was nice too. There was a full size gingerbread house in the lobby, all edible, which we thought was really cool too. Reading online that this hotel had a remodel in 2011, I wasn't expecting it to be perfect and pristine, but it was even less than I expected. The carpets coming off the elevator to our floor were stained and looked dirty. Entering the room, everything looked ok, but there was a definite smell to the room. Not overpowering, but not good either. Kind of musty/humid/moldy smelling. The tv was on a dresser not facing the bed, or any of the chairs in the room, so I'm not sure how one is supposed to view it. We were there for one night before our appointment at the MDAnderson Cancer Center, and though we will be making many trips there over the next few years, I'm not sure we will stay at this hotel again. For the price ($156 after taxes), I was expecting better.
Staff is excellent. Very friendly and quick to help with any and everything. This is the second time we've stayed here and the experience was excellent both times. Can't think of anything we did not like.
The location is great for me as I was here to see a concert at the House of Blues. This is a great location for the convention center. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was close to a homeless shelter and walking around at night didn't feel safe
Very close to downtown Houston. Walking distance to sporting arenas. Free shuttles when needed. You have to pay for parking.
It really was the perfect venue for our excursion. Papasito's was amazing. The breakfast at 1600 was amazing. And I can't say enough about the skyline view from the pool deck and outside terrace. I was really surprised that there were no fans in the bathroom.
My room was clean everyday
walking distance to and from marathon Parking- everything else was great
Availability of water and snacks. Free self laundry. Excellent work out equipment. Room card entry for use of elevators. Expensive to make phone calls.
Single traveler for 1 night stay The value is fantastic, the customer service was great, the decor is minimalist lovely. Coffee, tea always available and healthy snacks for an early evening pick me up. I was attending an event at the NRG stadium, and was able to hop on the light rail to get there with ease.
The staff was great. There was one guy that was very friendly and accommodating. We didn't catch his name but he was shorter and looked maybe Hispanic. Peter was amazing. He was constantly telling us about services the hotel provided that were making our lives easier. The room was beautiful and the perfect size. Our last day we were able to grab a little snack from the lobby on our way out which was nice and exciting for poor college kids. There was one rude front desk attendant that seemed annoyed we wanted to check into our room with her. She also didn't seem to know about how the valet parking worked and we had to wait to get there and validate everything with wonderful Peter. The only weird thing about the room was that it wasn't one big bed. It was two little beds put together, which worked fine for us. But that seems weird considering the hotel is mostly for business people that would be staying alone in a room.
Location is great! The room I was initially assigned to was extremely small w/ a scetchy view, but the staff was kind enough to switch me w/ no hesitation. Very accommodating front desk. The valet is costly & should be considered in the price w/ room since there's not another option.
Good location. It will be wonderful once 5 blocks of construction are finished in a cute retail and food area nearby. Right now there are sparse entertainment options within walking distance and you really should have steel-toe boots and a hard hat to reach some of them. The room was tiny. It fit just the bed and there was 1 foot between the walls around it. I've never seen such a tiny room. It was difficult to even unpack with 2 people trying to walk in there. 1 person had to be on the bed if another was walking around it. The bed was 2 twin beds pushed together. Relegating you to 1 edge or another.
I loved the gym, plenty of equipment to meet my needs. the lobby was spacious and comfortable. and the staff were friendly and helpful especially the valet parking and concierge. When I upgrade myself and book " Room 1: Superior Room With Kitchenette -Non-Smoking Spacious Room With Queen Bed.." I expect a superior room, not a closet! and instead of a kitchenette there was a tiny refrigerator and a tiny sink. my stay was uncomfortable and disappointing, and I will tell people to save themselves a bad time and avoid booking here.
Asked for receipt to be e-mailed--never got it --bit of a problem since I was supposed to be able to expense this
We do "staycations" on weekends all over Texas and we've had some odd smelling rooms but the smell of crawfish we do strong I got sick. There was no fabreeze or candles to light to help the smell so I had to use my expensive perfume. Sadly will not be returning.
The room was clean and had everything you needed. For the size of the room, we did not expect a microwave or miniature refrigerator so that was a nice surprise. Could not find where to park, but we left our vehicle with the valet.
Filtered water everywhere, complementary snacks, clean and central location
love the surroundings, the quietness and cleanliness of the place...the staff was also wonderful and friendly especially the bartender...although there was one staff that doesn't know the first thing about customer service not really towards me but what I've seen with other guests on 2 occasions.....overall I love the place but there's a few things they can work on because of their price
I loved the location of the hotel and the fact that they actually had a full bar. I made reservations through hotel.com and the check in process was very easy. The staff were very friendly. Nothing against the hotel itself, but I wish there was someone who monitored the noise levels in the hallways. Even with a sign posted requesting guests to be mindful of their noise level, the guests next to us kept partying and being overall noisy until 4 AM.
hotel presenation my a/c went out and was placed in a room with same problem
Even with the construction outside, we had a great stay at Hotel Derek. It's a fun hotel at a great location. The only real negative was the cleanliness of the room (specifically the bathroom). Overall, the hotel staff was great. We also enjoyed grabbing a drink at the hotel bar as it had a great vibe, lots of energy and plenty of opportunity to mingle.
A family emergency brought me to Houston, and I booked my room online. I loved the urban modern decor. Boutique and trendy - and the decor is my style, but some fixtures were a little dated. Location and self (or optional valet) parking were very convenient. Lots of hidden fees: resort fees, "misc tax", parking tax; plus upon check in - after already paying my entire reservation (4 nights), my CC was charged $100/night for "misc". I was prorated some of the $100/nt, but it was still an unexpected expense that I was not aware of $100/nt fee when I booked - or I probably would've cancelled my reservation. Also reserved for 4 nights, but when I tried to extend my stay 2 extra nights, the room rate was much more per night. They did allow me a late check out to decide if I wanted to pay the increased rate - which I greatly appreciated. I ended up checking out of the Derek, and stayed in another hotel in the galleria district those 2 extra nights.
Comfy beds. Easy check-in. Must pay for parking due to location.
Samar <3 Leaving Samar :(
It was in a great location. Clean, great area, very trendy, great staff. There was a bunch of hidden charges, everything was a la carte. I ended leaving 3 hours into my stay because I had a emergency. None of my charges where refunded. Even 20$ off the restaurant would have been nice in that situation. I was given the absolute worse view. Im from Houston and ill get hotels so avoid driving on the weekends but, probably wont stay at Derek again.
We had to pay an extra charge for the self parking. This charge was %40 of the charges I was paying for staying the night.
Boutique hotel feel. Near the Galleria and other shopping and restaurants. Fire alarm went off at 5:30 AM. Noticed that some of the lobby furniture and room furnishings looked worn and needed to be updated. Located in a busy area and entering and exiting on Westhimer is difficult.
Not much too extra fees not worth the stay. The price did not fit the service and accommodations.
Hotel Derek made my money worth, that we even decided to stay an extra day and the front desk workers where very professional and flexible with check out hours.
Beautiful spacious room. Front desk staff was wonderful Garage elevator broke and was out of order nearly two days during our stay.
To be honest there wasn't much I liked about the hotel and I have stayed there before. This is my second stay at this hotel and I book it because it's fairly close to the Houston rodeo. You have to pay $9 for parking and I'm like you are really changing me for parking when I'm a guest at this hotel? No free continental breakfast really? Holiday Inn express has a great free breakfast. The sheets were seriously like 100 count plastic or something in case you wet the bed. The housekeeper entered my room 3 times starting at 7:30 to noon and we were trying to sleep. The front desk had gotten my reservations wrong and called my room at which time I explained to them we were staying 2 nights. Well I guess the front desk didnt believe me because they locked me out of my room. I had to go to the front desk and show them my reserverations. Terrible experience and quite frankly I dont think I'll be back.
Nothing about this hotel That the rooms smelled awful so we switched rooms and there it was. The same smell. It smelled like heavy carpet smell. Turns out they were smoking in the room before we arrived. We were later told to heck out find a different hotel and leave. The staff weren't helpful at all since there was a big group checking in she didn't care about us
Location, secure environment, large room, comfortable queen size beds, kitchennet area in room, beautiful accommadations, and extremely friendly staff. I did encounter one problem with no hot water in the shower. My parents were two doors down therefore my family used their bathroom. I immediately reported the plumbing problem. We were offered another room and given a credit for not receiveing full sevice in the room. The manager and staff accommdated my family quickly and graciously. For a family of three and my parents traveling with me there was no free complimentary breakfast available. I really think this should be included for the price of the rooms
I had a pleasant stay at Crowne Plaza River Oaks. The staff was very helpful considering that this is my first time in the US. The room was spacious and very clean, and you cant beat such price.
the stay was very nice the service was good! I didn't like being next to nosiy neighbors!!
Location is good, very convenient. The blanket is not soft at all
STAFFS ARE ALL FRIENDLY & KIND. ROOM WAS CLEAN & COMFORTABLE TO STAY
The hotel can use a renovation in the rooms.
Elevators were extremely slow. Only 2 operating in peak hours. Smelled of unpleasant cleaning products.
I like the overall value in the cleanliness of the rooms I didn't like the 50 dollar deposit per room because I reserved three rooms so that was an extra hundred and fifty dollars taken out of my account
The room was comfortable. It was the first time we both stayed here. Out of all the places to stay in Houston we chose this place. What ruined our experience was that my new 2015 vehicle was vandalized in the self-parking garage. This ruined my whole experience and and impression of crown plaza. I reached out to a manager and she quickly pushed us to the valet staff. The manager was out of town so Eric just made me fill out an incident report. He stated the his manager Mr. Dillet would call me and till this day he still has not reached out to me. I had to call him consistently to get an answer. I've already spoken to him and I understand the outcome. It was just the way things were handled that makes never want to return to this place again.
I liked the short walk to Minute Maid Park and to Vic & Anthony's restaurant. I like the ability to check-in early. I liked the pre-reg email asking for early check-in preferences. I did not like the cramped quarters at the entrance. Due to the train, the narrow lanes for auto & valet made for a cluster. There were no bell carts available and the bell men seemed too busy. I did not like the small size of the sleeping room. Very cramped quarters.
The staff was very kind and helpful. The area at night seems a little unsafe.
We really enjoyed the room and the location. It was 2 adults and a 5 yr old. We were there to catch an Astros game and to visit NASA which was only a 30 minute drive away. Minute Maid was within walking distance. Concierge said we could use the complimentary shuttle but we walked to ballpark instead. Hotel was also next to the northbound and southbound light rail so we hopped on that to the museum district. We would definitely stay there again. We didn't use the valet for $36, we found street parking around the corner. Got locked out of room at noon even though we had a late check out scheduled. Was no big deal though. They had a bus boy sent up to give us new room keys and they apologized.
Rooms were well appointed and thoughtful. Staff was attentive and professional. Beautiful hotel. Located near light rail and could be heard all day and night.
Extremely friendly staff. All the pictures showed a large tub in the bathroom. This was really important to us in booking our room, however, there was only a shower upon arrival. We felt duped.
The Regency lived up to its reputation. I was impressed by the friendly, helpful and informed staff. The beds were very comfortable. WiFi is free in the social areas, guest of the hotel have to pay for WiFi in the guest rooms.
I would've liked for there to be a spa.
Very friendly staff Not enough cabs
Fernando is the man he very helpful as well as lido The bums, walkout side and always asking for money
Great location! Clean! Excellent service and food! Mattress not the most comfortable
Excellent service standards
I liked that the staff seemed to really care each and I every time I had a need, even for my puppy ! Thanks for a great stay.
The staff was fantastic and they all seemed like they enjoyed working there. First class the whole way!
Excellent bed & shower. What else do you need...? A/C in the bed room is a little bit noisy. I had to shut it off.
The pleasantness of the staff No informal cafe. Some across the street, but not in the hotel. Hotel restaurant excellent but expensive and only other choice was on the roof at the pool.
Daughter and husband loved the Milk and Cookies Happy Hour every night! Breakfast was very good too! The pool was perfect for my 4 year old because it is only 3 feet deep and not very big at all. A little disappointing.
Very clean Comfortable Nice Expensive parking
Fantastic location - great restaurants, bars and the Wortham theater are all within walking distance. Bed was old, uncomfortable and not worth what we paid for.
I loved my view for the room! I requested a room with a nice view and I was accomadated with a room on the 21st floor! It was also my birthday weekend and they had chocolates and a card waiting for me. Everything was perfection!
location close to Minute Maid park. Rooms were nice size, free breakfast buffet was spectacular. Maria and the staff in the kitchen during the breakfast and in assisting in attempting to rectify a mistake made by other staff (see 'What didn't you like'). I called ahead to find out whether I needed to bring our coffee brewer for our own, in room, coffee, and was told they had actual brewers (not those pod-type things). They didn't, and couldn't locate any, and didn't have any answers for how to get what we wanted and what they said they had. They did brew our coffee in their kitchen for us, which was apparently the best they could do. We almost didn't get the early check in they had also promised over the phone; luckily I had the name of the person who granted it, who happened to be the one at the front desk and who initially told us they couldn't check us in early.
Beautiful hotel in a wonderful area of downtown. We were able to walk everywhere. We did love the roof top pool as well. Amazing view of downtown from above. The main drawback for us is that there was a wedding the night we stayed so the bar/pool table area was not available. There was no other good place to hang out at the hotel which was inconvenient for us.
I loved the atmosphere, decorations, the view from the pool was amazing, the room was clean and comfortable. The valet were super friendly and helpful. The staff inside seemed a bit on edge from the double weddings in the restaurant, clerk told us we could order at the bar tender stand downstairs and the bartender seemed offended and said she's a liar, it's room service only that night. I was not fond of the prices for waffles and french toast on the menu, seemed an awful high price for such a simple food. The view from my room was construction and graffiti ' ed windows on the building next to us.
Service, food and ambience. Nothing
The exercise facility is so small that it is almost pointless. The showers need updating, as do other amenities like the television.
The room was clean and staff were very nice. The walls were paper thin and the door to the room was not closed tight enough to not shake and bang anytime another door was opened or closed on our floor. It kept my girlfriend and I up all night long, I finally called the front desk around 3 am and was told all they could do was extend my checkout by an hour... The free breakfast in the morning was alright but I was too tired to actually enjoy any of it. Room 501 was the loudest room I've ever slept in.
The staff greeted us warmly and even provided champagne upon our arrival. When we made it to the room it was beautiful with a great view of downtown and all the amenities we could have wanted. Even the water fixtures were stunning. It was a truly fantastic stay and I couldn't recommend it higher.
It was clean and very comfortable
The hotel was remodel the front and the noise was horrible. Room so small. Queen bed not King.
It is within walking distance of the Houston Grand Opera and metro to the museum & theater district - a lovely boutique hotel! TV and phone system a bit antiquated but work. There is so much to do within walking distance of the hotel that this was not really important to us.
Very quiet and cozy, with only about 8 rooms per floor. Rooms are small, but nicely appointed and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was great. Everything was obviously prepared fresh. Staff are courteous and friendly. The front entrance was under construction. Not much of a view from our room, just the parking lot.
The building was very charming and the staff very friendly. The location was great and very central to many sites in Houston. None.
The staff was extremely polite and courteous. The place has so much character. The gentleman out front got us a taxi within about 30 seconds of asking how to get one! The tv and stereo could use an upgrading (cassettes?). But who stays there to watch tv?
This was a wonderful hotel- beautifully restored and renovated. My room was spacious and comfortable. I had read a previous review from a guest who had been disappointed by the size of the bathroom, but I did not experience this problem at all. Every aspect of my room met or exceeded my expectations and the value was exceptional. I can't think of any part of my stay that disappointed me. Honestly.
The location is perfect particularly if in town for the performing arts functions. The service is great--Winfield W. and Jeremy M. are among the best in the hospitality world.
I would recommend a different scent for the shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Both my boyfriend and I smelled strongly of coconuts and wanted something less overpowering.
Nice facilities, cordial and friendly staff that went above and beyond to ensure my stay was a pleasant one. The bedding was extremely comfortable, the showers well kept and gave a home away from home feel. slow wifi, tight parking garage thats a bit more expensive than i would expect for a place with no security guard, barely any room to actually park your vehicle, no free breakfast.
the staff was extremely friendly and the location is perfect for getting around. The rooms were clean and the hotel was beautiful. Would definitely stay again.
We had to pay for parking.
Good location for easy access to the highway while being near Houston's Galleria. Free wireless service.. The staff are curious and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants good value and easy access. The breakfast buffet, for the price, I thought, was limited nor did I think the quality of the food reflected the otherwise high quality of the hotel. My bathroom was small although functional.
Beautiful hotel, atmosphere perfect. I only got to stay one night.
The room was super clean, staff very friendly and efficient, and great atmosphere.
I loved the hotel. It was very comfy and they did everything for you. The restaurant is expensive but somethings are good
The hotel was beautiful and everyone was so friendly and helpful!!!!
Newly renovated, spacious, comfortable. Fairly high parking fees, though perhaps reasonable for this location.
Bathroom too small, room size fairn overall meet and comfortable.
no refrigerator in room
Bed was somewhat comfy and internet was good in my room. I booked well in advance, but was given the room next to the elevator because they were sold out. The front desk person did try to be honest about it when I checked in, but didn't have any alternatives. The shower made a horrible chugging noise, and fixtures in the bathroom had visible rust. Also, although downtown Houston is not a walkers' paradise anyway, we were barely in the downtown center and had to walk 20 minutes or more to get to decent restaurants.
Breakfast buffet was phenomenal
Close to the federal building. Rooms were not good. Beds were terrible. Possibly the worst hotel beds I have slept in. Noisy and kept the kids up as they are light sleepers. The hotel itself smelled old and the rooms did as well. There was mold in the inside bath/shower unit. We left the hotel as soon as we could. Staff were fantastic. The employees in the hotel did a great job.
I loved the Crowns Plaza location to Mid-Town. I was just a cheap cab ride away from all my friends and the excitement. Glasses were to small to mix cocktails in the room
The staff was really personable from the valets to Jorge to the counter staff. The hotel has a very appealing luxury façade but wait until you get to the room. The room air conditioner did not cool the room. The ceiling had what looked like "black mold" but at closer look may be lent from the air conditioner vent. The room area that housed the ice maker looked very neglected which made me feel that the hotel was beautiful on the surface only.
nice hotel great location too expensive for parking 35$
I loved that there were healthy food choices for breakfast at very reasonable prices. The express breakfast delivered to the room was a real treat. At night, the AC seemed to shut down automatically for a period of time. It got a bit stuffy in the early morning hours.
We found that the noise from the highway can be very loud and make it challenging for children to sleep at night. We also found cockroaches in the bathroom and that is not good indication of cleanliness. We raised the fact that we found the cockroaches to the hotel staff and their response was okay we will inform the housekeeping.
Great location to Medical center. AC worked great, good shower, nice towels. Good comfortable bed, Wonderful staff, First time to stay and will be back. T-Bone
Clean, comfortable, and convenience at great price! Everything excelled expectation
This is a good standard hotel close to the places I needed. I got upgraded to a suite, which included a kitchenette. Since I was only staying one night, that didn't really matter, but I could imagine that would be really nice for a long stay. Staff was very friendly. Their computers were down and I couldn't get my bill. When I asked them to email it to me, they forgot.
Super comfortable beds. 1 block from light rail, easy access to NRG stadium. Great staff. By car, slightly inconvenient. Lots of hard-to-avoid traffic in vicinity.
Clean comfortabe beds, good temperature control, nice towels and toiletries. Excellent food in the hotel restaurant, well prepared, modertely high prices. Most of the wait staff was very well trained, and very polite and attentive. Unfortunately we had one waitress who was very slow and unattentive. I asked for an extra slice of bread and she tried to charge me $1.75 Plus tax. Excellent free shuttle service to and from the local hospitals. I thought it was excessive to charge $10 per day for parking while a paying guest at the hotel. Movie rental charges were insane, $15 per day for an older movie and $18 per day for a current movie. Ouch.
If you are there BC family is in hospital the. It is a great place for the price. Clean and convenient Shuttles are too inflexible. There isn't good communication within own staff. There are no set protocols. Some have their own rules. The day shift is A LOT more efficient than the evening. Not very good at keeping the bums from harnessing you outside the hotel
Great location. Center for medical use. Close to Rice Village, where there are several fine dining restaurants.
No complimentary breakfast, A/C made loud banging noises, bed was not comfortable and the parking is poor.
The pick-up from the downtown bus station to the hotel was sweet. The staff were nice and the room was gorgeous.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lounge is very nice. Breakfast at the restaurant was good but quite pricey. Hotel was extremely clean and had very little mold/mildew, which plagues even 4 & 5 star hotels in Houston. The pillows were not great and the restaurant was too expensive for extended business stays (French toast + coffee + OJ + tip = $25).
Room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was great! I thought the shuttle service was convenient and made our stay more comfortable. Lots of homeless people around the street of hotel, as long as you take the shuttle it doens't really matter.
Unique hotel. Friendly staff. Love the bar in the lobby. Comfy beds. Great shower. Perfect location. I wish parking was a bit less expensive, or there was a self park option.
Only one coffee serving in our room.
Very comfortable rooms. Bathroom is huge. Room service food left a little to be desired.
Johnny at the front desk was spectacular, and was very professional. Gave me recommendations on night life and restaurants. The room was very nice, and the beds were comfortable. The valet was decent. It's about $34 a night after tax for one car, but it is downtown Houston. They are very quick about getting your car ready for you when you call for it. At night we called valet for a cab and went down 10 minutes later and they said it had not arrived yet. My group waited 10 more minutes inside the garage before the valet guy told us to stand on the street and try to get one. What is the point of calling ahead for a cab if they wanted us to go flag one down ourselves. There is no on site self parking, but there is a small private owned parking lot connected to the right of the hotel which is $10/ a day where my friend left his car. Check your bill before you leave!! I was charged an extra $20 dollars for "long distance calls." I didn't realize it was considered long distance to call valet down stairs... They were happy to take it off, but I'm glad I checked it.
Location, view No minibar,, no vending machines ,no smoking- but no balconies !!!! I expected a high class, luxury hotel..... I found myself regretting the choice immediately upon arrival in the room... No minibar, (then why did they take a 400 dollar deposit from my card without mentioning it, in addition to my paying the 600 up front for the two days I was staying there.??????!!?..... Which will take a week to be put back on my card...... No soda or vending machines, closest 24 hr place to get snacks is 3 miles away.... They charged me over 60 dollars in overnight parking fees without ever asking me whet make or model or license plate number... I didn't even have a car with me on this trip- staff were condescending and rude about my attempting to address these and other issues..... Don't stay here Houston is big no shortage of alternatives that are not a waste if minry
The hotel seems like it was very nice a few years ago but doesn't feel like it has been kept up to date and doesn't feel clean at all. Our room smelled so much like mildew! The room came with 1 bottle of complimentary water. Every bottle after that you had to purchase, principally speaking I think this is crazy for a hotel room that costs $200 per night! Overall not impressed by this hotel.
Nicely renovated, bigc ocmfy rooms
The design of the hotel and the rooms was fabulous. Couldn't have picked a better location. Walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants. We went to the cafe across the street in the morning and everyone was wearing Astros jerseys getting ready to walk to the game.
Bathroom is huge and comfortable. No icemachine. Had to request ice and tip for each delibvery.
There was plenty of room in the suite. It was just a little dark in the hallways. I like a little cherrier look.
price and location
Room was nice, valet parking, guest services was awesome - very helpful. Free internet in lobby was conveniently accessed! Price of breakfast at Restaurant was a little high.
Good location next to the Galleria Mall. Enjoyed the Sheraton Club. Beds were pretty comfortable Bathroom could use updating, it was probably clean but had moldy caulking
I loved the area and the view that I received. Staff was great! I did not like the fact I had to pay for parking. I feel that should be included with the visit.
Bar Food and cookies! Poor Lighting in rooms
Good location, comfortable suite
Spacious rooms. Suite was nice.
location is close to shopping area nothing
Service was great. Made us feel like valued customers. Special shout out to Rex, the concierge. Food in bar was also very good Everything was great
Very clean, quiet rooms.
Very accommodating staff. Convenient location to shopping restaurants. Rooms clean and spacious.

Top-quality everything: fixtures, staff, amenities Valet is $$$
Close to all activities i was doing this weekend
The staff was incredibly friendly and the desk chair was really comfortable. Non-valet parking options were difficult to find.

The room, location and even the lobby was beautiful! Yes , the staff was not as polished as i would have expected. Nice nonetheless.

Location Staff were just plain rude
spatious room, interrior and friendly staff. The wireless internet connection was not good, lost the signal most of the time. The food in the restaurant is overpriced unless you go on days that they have special deals.
We booked the fantastico suite for $245 and when we arrive and mentioned it was for a birthday the receptionist hooked us up with the Black Label suite that was simply unbelievable. The room must be over $1000 per night. One of the magnificent seven suites. Will certainly stay again! Thanks Zaza fam.
The interior design of the hotel and the rooms. I may be biased because i was a lucky customer and got a free upgrade to a suite that was so great. I didn't see the rest of the rooms but if they are a fraction of what the suite was, its great. I was a little alarmed that upon my return from a day out, i came to my room at night and found all the pillows off my bed, sippers on the bed and candles lit. I know it was the staff making me feel comfortable so i would necessarily say it was a bad thing but i was scared when i walked in and saw candles lit and my room rearranged as i was not yet sure it was the hotel staff.
Hotel Za Za is a beautiful hotel and very luxurious for the money. Old hotel charm with a flair for the creative. Always a wedding or some special occasion going on keeps it lively but not loud. The balconies have some great views. Service is very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Room service was very good but not great. Lovely pool and small spa. Houston sun is hot and our AC struggled in the afternoon sun. We even had it looked at but it didn't seem to help. Blackout curtains do keep light out but evidently not the heat. Still the view was spectacular from 8th floor.
Great service Perfect
Friendly staff, very unique room, and most comfortable hotel bed I've ever stayed in.
The service was spectacular and well above expectations! I loved everything!
The overall look and feel of the Hotel .... You feel like a rock star tycoon during your stay.
The car service. Truly great. Location as well. Food is good. Massage was great. ZaZa has changed. You will find lots of drunk business men at the bar and hookers. Not fun when you travel alone for business and art. The staff seems to be more occupied with themselves then you.
Interesting design, fun rooms, great staff Musty carpets, smoked-in rooms, mediocre room service
Nothing The attitude, mentality and character of the Concierge.
interesting art breakfast was too expensive
Location is great, facility is average!! Parking is a problem, no self parking and you can wait for your car for a long time.. During peak hours, valet department don't answer your call..even if they do you may still wait !!!
Had to use valet parking the whole time as the regular deck was closed, and there was an extended wait to get the car when I was ready. The room could also use a refrigerator.
Roooms not as new as would be expected. TV was not modern and had problems with it. Valet parking was extremely expensive for parking my vehicle around the corner where I can see it when I exit the hotel
The staff was really helpful and informative about places to go eat and hang out. and with directions. Balcony was very small, and expected more for my money.
We liked everything about this hotel. The staff were extremely professional, friendly, helpful and competent. The hotel is large, beautiful, and convenient to the downtown theater district. Rooms are large, comfortable, and well appointed. The bar area is lively and the staff are friendly and take care of their customers. The restaurant is comfortable and the food is excellent and well prepared. The staff of the restaurant are professional and treat you like a personal guest. We enjoyed everything about our stay. The only thing I would have liked in the rooms is a refrigerator and a safe. Otherwise, the rooms were very well appointed.
cookies;-),location Pillow too thick
Rude staff at the front desk overnight
I was able to check in early and the service was great. The staff was friendly and thorough. The room was clean and a good stay for the price. I have nothing to complain about.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Vallet parking was easy and quick. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. I plan to stay here again.
Staff was friendly, room was clean, overall good stay Only con was the fact that we couldn't order movies from our room
Great Room and View Slow shuttle and Valet service
Staff was very accommodating to my 1 year old
Very friendly staff throughout, impressive lobby and the room was very nice as well. Always forgot about those great cookie as well! The only issue were the thin walls, it was quite easy to hear the people next door to us. They have a strict "party policy" so I think they are aware of the issue. We hated to be "those people" but when our neighbors started playing loud music at 5am we called the front desk. Security sorted out the issue right away. Thanks!
Enjoying the vicinity of the hotel to the historical city center I am anxious to be double charged - first on November 8 by hersha Hospitalty Management for the amount of 1 097.85 usd (immediately after arriving to the Hotel) and then by alden Houston 1 047.85 usd 2010-11-16 at 09:17:35 =- may be I misunderstand something, pls explain!
The hotel was very nice and was at a great location I did not like the fact that there were no curtains and the room was light.
Amazing staff, best valet service I've ever experienced. Very clean hotel. 2 full bathrooms in the room kinda odd but after the first ten minutes you wonder what's wrong with other hotels. Great location four blocks from Minuet Maid Park. Gym is small but has the essentials, got the job done. Great overall experience. No mini fridge in the room was the only draw back. Had to make a bunch of trips to the ice machine, which was on a different floor to keep my daughters pedisure cold.
Interior decorating very interesting. Everything updated. Refreshing look and feel. Very comfortable. The valet parking was brutally expensive.
excellent staff! rooms were very comfortable and very clean. We will definitely be back.
Room was nice and comfortable. Accepted our dog. Our room was right above their event center very noisy. They were breaking down tables and being very loud after 10:00 during the week. If you get a high enough floor I guess this would not be a problem. Also getting ice was a bit of a hassle.
We were on the 10th floor. It was very quiet and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We used the shuttle daily and the drivers were all very friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to see them smiling every morning. We were always greeted by the front desk staff every time we stepped off the elevator. The entire hotel was very clean. I would definitely stay there again! The water smelled a little like clay/mud they use in spas for wraps. My skin and hair certainly enjoyed it, but I did feel the need for perfume. Despite this, I would still stay there again.
