Overview

Dorking Hotels Wotton House is more than just a hotel; bearing a 400-year history within its walls, guests are sure to come away from this experience with more than just a good night's sleep.

This hotel is located on a 13-acre garden, which guests are invited to wander and explore. What sets this 350-year old garden apart is that it was the first Italian-style garden in England. If that isn't enough, the house itself has a winding and multi-faceted history, which includes serving as the Canadian Army's housing during World War II.

Wotton House specializes in events such as weddings and New Year's Eve parties. In 2016, it won the Best Country Venue at the UK Wedding Awards. Ceremonies can be held in the beautiful Italian gardens already mentioned, or in the Old Library, a spacious room with Gothic windows and pillars dating from the 17th century. The Evelyn Suite is a sunny room ideal for holding banquet meals, its neutral palette specifically designed to match personal color schemes.

While the hotel may be very old, the services aren't; the hotel features an indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, bar/lounge, restaurant, fitness center, and laundry services. Room service, conference facilities, breakfast, and a tennis court are also made available to guests.

With a host of unique qualities, including its otherworldly, historical atmosphere, Wotton House is a great choice for a wedding venue, or for those who simply happen to have a romantic side.
