everything is nearby . local is new. room service is not good . and towels too old. 0ne day they only give our one towels for 4 peoples.
Great facilities, beautiful setting, lots of fun activities available. The food was absolutely terrible, both at the buffets and the a la carte restaurants. Most of the time the food seemed to be extremely dry, as if the food was pre-cooked and were sat under heating lamps for hours. The staff also seemed to be generally miserable, sometimes unhelpful and unfriendly. We were also left without toilet paper for an entire day, after the cleaner neglected to restock the bathroom. A lot of our calls to concierge also went unanswered or were redirected elsewhere to no avail. Also the lack of changing stations in the bathrooms throughout the resort is quite an inconvenience. We are a young couple with a nine month old infant, and having to go back to our room to change the baby is quite a task, as there is a lot of walking from the restaurants back to the rooms in the family section of the resort.
ovation horrible internet service would not return there because of it a lot of good with no taste
Upon arrival, the staff was helpful, polite and always willing to help. Our room was very clean and maintained every day. We had a jacuzzi on our balcony with a great view of the beach. Food was good, a little repetitive , but you can always find something that you liked. Overall an amazing stay... We were able to use the pool at the Bavaro Beach side but they would not serve us any drinks or let eat at the buffet.
We like the facilities for little kids. Family friendly, you have to walk (but we do not mind) they have 2 trolleys that pass every 6mnts. the personal is nice, it could be nicer the one in reception but they are ok. They help me to prepare the Happy birthday of my grandmother with music and the cake, that was the extra mile :) The personal is nice, it could be nicer the one in the front desk but they are ok. I know that the hotel was full, but every customer is important. Beside the monologues of yes and no (with any additional information) everything was nice.
Very nice seashore, palms, very calm waters in the area where the hotel is. Good food in restaurants. Although we've booked the room through booking.com 2.5 months in advance, when we came to the hotel, they did not have our reservation and tried to downgrade us to a cheaper room than what we booked. It took 2 hours and required to talk to hotel manager twice before they actually let us checkin into the room we booked.
If I have only one critic it will be for the casino staff, only place in the resort where for some reason the staff absolutely not friendly,
The beach was nice.
Great rooms Staff very nice but didn't listen sometimes
What I really loved, getting away from the Chicago cold in the middle of February. It was SO relaxing. The staff who made it extra special were Ossiris, Billis, Juan, and Juan Carlos. There were activities every night, mostly delicious food, and the dance club is hot--for like an hour, but it's a really hot hour. The omelette at The Hispanola are great! Between the Bali beds and the beach huts, you can get your fill of sunshine relaxation time. Drinking whenever and wherever you want, but if we go back, it'll be in the late summer when it's less expensive. It rained a little bit almost everyday that we were there. Our room was one with a "garden view," so no view at all, but close to the beach. No free transportation into town. If there was even a cheap shuttle that would have been preferable. Cabs are expensive.
Good Facilities Quality of food
Beautiful, clean resort. Friendly, helpful staff. Our amazing butler named Francisco was the best! The restaurant by the beach had the best breakfast and lunch buffets. Adults only is the way to go for sure. We had an awesome swim up bar with a great bartender named Michael. Beach was beautiful and clean but every now and then solicitors would disturb you from your relaxation to try to sell to you. I was approached various times while trying to tan or nap on my lounge chair. Definitely tacky and disruptive. Resort should put a stop to this.
Cuisine, beach fasilities, climate, parkside location
Everything!! Nothing negative to say.
Typical bait and switch. Apparently we were told that every single room near or walking distance to the beach was not available. This was the case even though i booked six months ago. They literally put us in the last building on the property. The LAST building. It was even past the reception (or before if your coming off the street). It was like almost next to the street. This is ridiculous. When i spoke to Arnaldo, whom i was told was the manager (yet i saw no identification) he could offer nothing to help. No solution. No discount. No hope. My mother (who has never been to punta cana) is very upset. The hotel expects us to wait 10-15 to take a train to the beach (which is a 10 minute train ride away). If he really was the manager, he didn't solve anything. I am so disappointed at this experience. We are paying over $1,200 USD for 2 nights and this is what we are getting for it. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. If they actually act on it after i post this i will let you all know. Electricity went out on my last day. Some drinks were not included (therefore this was not all inclusive).
I loved the property, the room, the pool, the beach, the shows and the staff. I also like the privacy of the property and the beach. I liked that I was not bombarded with people selling or wanting to braid your hair, etc. which truly made it a very relaxing vacation for me. I would recommend this property to all! I didn't like the food that much. I thought the beef and pork were very tough at most places on the property. The only place that served tender pork was the Asian restaurant (ribs). I also wished that there was more spanish food offered. I did not like that I could not have avocado or maduros being in the Dominican Republic.
Everything about it, food ws great, Staff ws excellent, especially Eleena from the dinning room, she ws great Can't think of anything , looking forward to my next trip In October
It reminded me of the melia caribe tropical hotel and resort, but cozier, hence easier to find family members when you pick a place for a wedding & not as costly. The wedding went well. I do not know if it was the actual hotel experience because I was touring the countryside 2 days prior to check-in, but 2 days into my hotel stay, I was invalid in my hotel room with a severe bout of diarrhea and fevers. Also, in the Family buffet, you get these scantily clad women at the only entrance / exit of the buffet haggling you for photos with them. Maybe this flies with the Europeans, but it's kind of embarrasing when you have a 3 year old.
All services and meals were of outstanding quality. The suites are architectural masterpieces. The local wines are far from European standards.
Gorgeous beaches and nice rooms. There are several restaurants all average quality but with a lot of variety. Overall food and beverage is average. The Bavaro beach is the nicest I have seen and the Platinum Club guests get very nice beach lounges underneath palm covers. The grounds of the resort are beautifully landscaped and have peacocks, flamingos, ducks, etc.... We enjoyed the outdoor private spa at the resort after booking a couples massage package. Spa prices are reasonable. The house wine is not good but you can pay extra to upgrade. There is very limited internet access so don't plan to check your email much. Like many large resorts guests reserve beach and pool chairs much of the day without using them, the hotel has a 30 minute policy but doesn't enforce it. This could be an issue when the hotel is crowded.
many fun activities old facilities, need renovation
The people is excellent
The beach front area had plenty of seats and the beach itself was beautiful. Staff was friendly at all times. The food options were good and with a variety. They had day and night activities to offer so there was always something you could do if you chose. One of the pools was drained and out of use so the first two days we did not use the pool because the other pool was full which was really annoying. Dinner reservations to specific restaurants could only be made in person so it was an inconvenience to have to go to the front and worry about something that could be easier if you could call from your room. They have an unnecessary policy for beach towels that I have never experienced at another resort. It's like a trick because they know someone is bound to lose their towel card and incur $25. Wifi was spotty and unreliable at times.
This was for our honeymoon and it was extremely relaxing. We enjoyed everything from the room, the food and the location. However the staff really made us feel welcome more than anything. Evelyn was the sweetest lady and helped us with our Spanish which was really cool and made us want to come visit with her everyday. The whole crew was amazing as well. Just to name a few that went the extra mile were Yahaira, Alberto, Black Barbie, and Franchesca. They were excelente!! Also their were a couple guys that did a paddle board yoga session with us and they were hilarious and a lot of fun but unfortunately we forgot to write their names down so now I can't recall. Overall though we would definitely recommend this place it was an awesome experience. Spending the extra money for the exclusive membership is worth it as well because the place is rather large and it's nice having your own butler and desk to help you with booking reservations and excursions. Their was only one restaurant we weren't huge fans which was Sea & See but a lot of others liked it. Just wasn't for us I guess. We loved the food everywhere else though and the drinks were always coming and very delicious as well!
The staff was first class. From the moment we arrived until we left, the hard working and polite employees were always there for us. The facilities were well maintained and very clean. There was ample space to find a place to sit. The lunches had mass produced cafeteria taste to them, filling but not very flavorful. (This was not the case at dinner, the sit down restaurants were amazing.)
The staff was great and made the vacation enjoyable!! We especially enjoyed Dergis Doroteo who took extra good care of our large group. He was so much fun that our group of 20 went out of our way to go see him at least once a day. The staff puts in extremely long hours and how they can stay so happy is amazing. The food was hit or miss at many restuarants. Our group was large and some people had the exact same dish on separate nights and experienced great food to poor for that exact same dish.
Our stay at the Magestic Elegance was truly unforgettable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The service for Elegance Club members was amazing. We could not have enjoyed our honeymoon more!
From ever person we passed going/leaving D.R. we seemed to have the best experience at this resort compared to other all-inclusives. We were on our honeymoon and the first room we went to had some problems. After going to guest services (way too many times, unfortunately) they upgraded us to an amazing corner room. One thing we did not know was that you could pay with US dollars everywhere on the grounds and didn't need to exchange our money. We'd go there again, but would consider paying the extra money to be part of the elegance club. If it is your first time to an all inclusive there are plenty things they do NOT tell you upon arrival. Don't feel bad going to guest services with questions. It is their job to make you feel at home and satisfied with your visit. We went several times to be sure we got the room service we requested and paid for. They finally got it right our second day there and it was worth asking questions.
The beach experience The family environment. The vast complex and how far everything was. The culinary experience.
Nice rooms and a great beach. The food was mediocre at best. This was disappointing.
Spa service was exceptional. Bars have a good selection of drinks, and the bartenders were friendly. The staff in general was very friendly and helpful. Bag delivery and delivery service could take a long time.
The elevator was broken and they said it had been for almost 2 months, the jacuzzi button was broken, mini bar was never refilled unless we called.
food was ok. the view in really good. the cleanliness of rooms are really poor. at night is very noisy even at the rooms. the room service is always late (after 2 or 3 hour after your request!!). Attention by the staff is really bad. It is not worth the 5000 to 600 per night at all. you can find several hotels all-inclusive in the area with much better service. I think they have sacrifice money by attention as they focus in large number of people. I felt like a code bar , there ins't personalize attention as you expect for that value.
GREAT BEACH AND DRINKS BAD FOOD, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, THE HAVE TO CHANGE ALL THE EMPLOYEEES,
The entire resort was amazing, hard for me to explain how beautiful this resort is. Very clean and well kept. The staff was very nice and professional. Definitely a great place to go if you want to relax and just get away. This was my first time in Punta Cana, and I will return to this resort again before year end. The free Wi-Fi outside the room was a plus, you had signal everywhere. The food was better than I expected, there are a lot of restaurants (Options) to choose from. The best part is that you can eat at the sister resort as well, not reservations needed for any of them. Best vacation so far to the Dominican Republic. The water pressure in the room was low later in the day (but I understand, being Dominican myself, that they try to conserve water). And I had some issues with the Wi-Fi signal in my room, outside worked great.
Relaxing on the beach, loads of different restaurants, Casino & Pool and Beach Bars. The sunbeds by the pool were always reserved even although there was a sign stating that you cannot reserve any beds. The majority of people staying at this hotel are Spanish. For English speaking people wanting to meet lots of new people I would not recommend.
Very nice pools, sizeable clean rooms, friendly staff, pretty grounds. Tried to charge more than we booked for; problem getting adjoining rooms; seaweed-filled ocean; mediocre food and slow waitstaff, zero entertainment on the Royal side. A bit dull.
Food was actually incredible; it was almost the highlight of the trip! Staff was superbly friendly, and all the decor of the lounge areas and restaurants was splendidly top-notch. Will definitely be returning on my next trip to the DR! That I had to leave! =]
Everybody knows at least english except espaniola. I'm Russian and it's very important for me. nothing
everything was perfect the staff happy people very friendly one of the best trips very , very good everything
Liked staff friendliness and comfort of the resort. The food was not as good as we expected and the service can be at times very slow. Room service not consistent in providing towels.
Very good hotel for its price. Delicious all-inclusive meal at plenty of restaraunts.Nice pools, beach is not over-crouded. Staff is friendly, but sometime it takes time to get understanding of what you really want :) 1) Only one car rental in the hotel (Prestige rent-a-car) with not good service (the longest and complicated procedure of getting car rented I ever had!). Although prices are a little bit lower then Europcar and Avis in Bavaro. 2) Stupid system of 200$ limit when you want to pay by charging the room. 3) Very shallow ocean on the beach.
Excellent staff..beautifully maintained the food could have been of a higher quality
The poll are a was lovely and very relaxing. Good variety in the restaurants although food was often not as hot as it could have been. Overall, I would say this was a four star not five star hotel.
When we arrived they had no reservation for us. They claimed we were booked at the catalonia bavaro not the royal. Our friends that booked with us had a room waiting. I showed them my receipt that clearly stated catalonia royal bavaro. We waited and waited for hours until we were given a room, only to have to move to three rooms until we had a room that the air conditioner worked. Now it's 2am and we are tired. We came to celebrate our anniversary and mentioned it to the front desk when we checked in. I also sent an email to the hotel. We also brought 2 other couples with us to celebrate. Nobody cares. The food was horrible. The pool was chipping paint. Tiles at the pool were broken. The personal service was terrible. We travel around the world and this was the worst I have seen. I can keep going but what's the point!
I'll definitely come back. Everything was amazing.
Everyone seemed to be VIP or the LEVELS this year. Didn't feel as special...
Food, pool, room size Restuarant reservation method
Location Staff rude Non English speaking Food ok Lots of walking Levels of restaurants not everyone can eat at Mini bar was 4 pops 2 beers n water is all no liquor
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Pay the extra cash and go to a decent hotel , had to move rooms ,room was filthy and outdated, bedding stained and unable to lock the door between the adjoining room that was occupied with guests that I was not travelling with nor are you able room door
Despite the problems with the room, the staff was very helpful. They had to switch my room twice. The first room smell like a smoking room . The second room had a real strong smell of mold. After going back and forth for 3 hours I finally got a nice room. The hotel was too far from the city of Punta Cana
I liked that the VIP section had their own private pool and members didn't have to make reservations. The food wasn't too good and got a few of us really sick.
shower cold water did not replace room coffee after first night in spite of phone call returned to room (left at 8:00am-returned at 2:00pm) not cleaned. Some more Staff could speak English very difficult to communicate
Food, pools, ocean view, landscape, layout, huge faculty you could stay there for weeks and have things to do Service! Took us 3 hours to check in after traveling 12 hours... Sent us to a back room to tell us they overbooked and were kicking us to another hotel.. If you travel alot you know theres always a room you just haveto fight for it. 80% of employers were straight up rude and service is poor, it just became funny and didnt let it ruin our vacation
staff, location the food was horrible
Some of the staff tries to do their best but they are poorly trained, hotel is understaffed, inconsistent with services provided from one day to the next, ie cleaning rooms. Maybe a 3* hotel, not more!! Bar service was poor (except Serapio) and premium alcohol was hidden for those who have a right to it and one had to constantly ask for premium alcohol to be used in drinks - answer was sometimes "I don't have any". Food was mediocre and there was no variety. The beach bar was not open, restaurants were open arbitrarily when they felt like it (not every night), meals were not served as we were told - no breakfast at all at the restaurant by the beach. My companion got food poisoning on our last day - the manager (Diana) refused to take responsibility for this and had an attitude. Additionally, the sister hotels were not accessible to us (renovation??) and the VIP beds were occupied by people who should not be using them. Dissapointing
Staff as expected was very splendid and helpful. The room detail indicated that the Wifi was included in the stay but it turned out the WiFi was only free in the hotel lobby. The room charged 4 dollars a night for room usage. And you were only allowed to connect one device to the WiFi per paid night. It is totally ridiculous to charge for such a service if it could have been included in the room rate and save everybody the anger and confusion.
Good seaside view. Nice big beautiful room (I had platinum suite). About 10 different tipes of fresh juices for the breakfast. The room was full of mosquitos! Was impossible to sleep. The food at the restaurant was really too salt. Some of the items were impossible to eat.
all inclusive and food is excellent difficult to get to from Santo Domingo airport
the rooms are ok could be better
the staff was really good and helpful. Buffet at noon.. It wasn't good.
the staff was nice enough my reservation didn't show up until the day after I checked in, so I had to pay for one nights room until the reservation showed up. spent the whole day trying to get the room situation straight the room I choose online was not what they gave me, I paid for a king I was put in 2 beds I would like my refund for the difference the food choices were not the best, the restaurants that you have to make reservations for were much better.
Location on the beach Room flooded inexplicably
We liked the public spaces and the food. The bathroom in our room needed more attention and it had a small leak.
The location The food was the worst that i have had in my life
Espacios publico exelentes y las comidas muy bien Dos cambios de cuartos por mal funcionamiento de los aire acondicionado
The help provided by Juana, and the shows This hotel is horrible and extremely dangerous for kids and elders. Bathrooms are the designed for people to trip bang their heads and die or suffer serious injures
The Service Beautiful Resort
Pro: Very quiet, relaxing. Good food. Con: Beach had heavy seaweed
The place is very secluded and is not currently near other resorts so it was very private and relaxing. The staff there is amazing! Everyone is so nice and eager to assist you in any way. I do recommend that you take plenty of Tip Money (apparently cash is preferred because that is the only sure way you'll know they got the tip. No guarantee by just adding charging it to the Room). You will definitely appreciate the amazing service. It was also Seaweed, and every day they cleared the shore of seaweed and would haul it away so that guests could enjoy the beach. This was a 5-Star relaxing Stay... Loved It! I didn't like that Wi-Fi was not included with, but at least there is an option.
Love the staff! Specially Santo the chef!! Excellent food. Scarlett the best housekeeper . She is excellent . All the waiter & bar attended Magnificient .
Most of the staff was great, particularly bar staff including Martin at the Love Bar. The room was nice and accurately reflected "ocean view." The pools were quite pleasant including the main pool with swim up bar. Food was very mediocre. More entertainment is needed as well if to compete with resorts in the other islands and even US resorts. They should have more air conditioning in their bars, lobby, typically sweat in these area from lack of it. Even in the restaurants the temperature could have been cooler.
Loved the small intimate size of the resort. The staff is top notch and bent over backwards to please. Has an European feel and the food was good. Fusion restaurant experience was over the top. Wifi in lobby was spotty, not much to do at night. I felt pressured to tip. No real beach but lots of pools. We paid for ocean view and only saw a tiny peek of one. I would return and recommend it to everyone.
Beautiful setting, great facility, cheerful and friendly staff who go above an beyond to make you feel welcomed and attend to your every need. They also were very sweet to our 4 y/o daughter. Food was decent and multiple restaurant options offer variety. The public beach just next to the resort is also beautiful and worth the short walk/golf cart ride (the hotel staff will give you a lift). Despite requests from the resort to not "reserve" chairs at the beach and pool, particularly selfish guests would put towels down on the well shaded chairs by the pool and beach before heading to breakfast. Often they would finally show up hours later. Many guests didn't bother to remove their wet towels when they left their chairs so it was difficult to tell which chairs were taken and open.
Beautiful, romantic electrical didn't work in our room in many outlets
Great location, perfect to get away and not be bothered by crowds. The property is just big enough and everything is easily accessible. Everything is well run and organized. The food we found to be excellent. Find Carlos at the Castle bar for the best drinks on the property. The only issue we had was our A/C slowly dying throughout the course of the week. Someone came to "fix" it, but it wasn't really fixed. This made the last night there some what uncomfortable, but we were on our way out, so didn't really make a big deal of it.
Everything outside the room. the food, the atmosphere, the entertainment and staff was absolutely excellent! Lack of quality control in the room. no coffee maker, lack of water pressure in bath tub, multiple failures with housekeeping (not leaving towels, not coming at all, taking my robes and not returning them), and room service was spotty with incorrect orders.
The pool, the beach... beautiful view but definitely not a 5 star hotel mean people at the front desk, long lines, the bedrooms smell like humidity, a guy trying to sell us open bar at the night club and ending with a bullshit night club full of kids for 100/800 for couple.
Pretty rooms and the chance of good faciliies. The staff invited us for a breakfast one day wich was really surprising as it is an all inclusive hotel. They took 3 hours from our life to sell a Melia Group vacation right for only 175.000USD. does not worth it??? We had to call every day for cleaning of our room. In these quite expensive rooms we had to wait 5-10 minutes for warm water. Otherwise everything was cool...
Aesthetically nice, staff are friendly They overbooked, so it was a very disorganized check in
The resort was very clean, well maintained and beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly. The seafood buffet was a favorite. We had difficulty making dinner reservations for where we wanted to go, and getting convenient times. In hind site we could have emailed for advance res. but we had no idea that was an option. Or that it would be necessary.
Anything you need at any time. Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Best food in the DR. Top shelf liquor and awesome, clean beaches. Everything was wonderful. No complaints!
The staff is second to none. They are receptive to your needs and are very friendly. Nothing.
Exceptional service, very good food, clean, scenic and beautiful. Not too many other guests (unlike two-deep chairs around pools at other resorts) but enough so the resort didn't feel empty. Great experience overall Reserving pool chairs//beds has turned into everyone dropping towels ~7-8am and often times not coming back until the afternoon (as backup there are plenty of beach cabanas). Restaurant reservation system also a bit frustrating, we often had the last possible time of 9pm even scheduling 2 days in advance (buffet never disappointed and 24hr room service was also good)
Great food relative to other resorts in DR. Some of the bartending staff were snarky.
The affable personnel. A good, pure beach, with pleasant bathing at ocean, very small waves. Aerobics, learning of dances, games - it is very cheerful. Residing prolongation in number in day of departure at 6 o'clock - for 90 US dollars, good service. The last day of their stay, breakfast eaten something stale, it was indigestion. The last 3-4 days to feel the difference in nutrition, for the worse.
I liked the adult-only part of the hotel (called NH Royal Beach). It is worth the upgrade with private and premium services.
It is new I suppose they do not have enough staff. In the beginning the servis was nice and fast but when the hotel became full it was slowly and scommon places like staff was not in time to clean common places. Food in the restaurants is limited choice. In the a la carte restaurants the portions are very small and the part of the dishes are tasteless.
The staff was great. We had a great time. The Buffets were good and the flavoring was ok, but we from Minnesota have had better.
The beach and pool. The gym sucked, very limited and not very well equiped. The wine was very poor and what good wine they had was not available. Night life was limited.
Where do I start? Well, from the first step that I took at this Resort, we were immediately greeted with a "Welcome Home". We were offered refreshing towels with a mint scent. Reception was fast and friendly, the welcome team "Carlos" gave us a little tour around the Resort while pointing out everything. The hospitality level at this Resort is top notch, everyone you see and encounter will greet you with a humble smile....by the way the resort has this amazing way to answer you on how they feel..EXCELLENT... By the pool and bar area, Ana Luisa, Jeffrey, Ruben and Elias are an amazing team. The entertainment team will make sure that you have an amazing time as well, Big Papi, Tequila, Blacky and Grupi are full of contagious energy. My hat also goes off for my favorite Bartender "Antonio" at the Preferred Lounge. Antonio will costume make any cocktail or drink of your choice with amazing skills and hospitality...the best Michelada and Old Fashioned ( with Rum) at the resort. And if you need an answer to any questions or solutions to anything, fell free to ask Romylenis or Josefina at the Preferred Lounge. Thanks Josefina for helping me and my lady overcome the anguish we had when we miss our flight.
Clean resort. Buffet restaurants are very good. Staff is very friendly. Resort did not pay any attention to bed preference. All 3 couples in our group requested king beds and all three were placed in rooms with 2 separate double beds. Lighting in the rooms is terrible, you cannot see anything in the mirrors. Drinks are watered down (including white wine) and drinks at the pool bar barely have any alcohol in them. Food is terrible anywhere except the buffets. Everyone on our trip experienced stomach issues at some point in the trip.
Excellent service and great amenities. We upgraded to Club level and it's worth it since our room is just a few steps away from the beach. Overall, A+ with service, food, and location.
The staff was all friendly and fun. The rooms were impeccable and the room service fast and great. They even called the second day to make sure our room was perfect. The food was not the best. It looked nice and was presented well but it all tasted the same by the second day and both of us got tummy aches. I suggest you upgrade if for no other reason than to obtain premium drinks as the standard alcohol is not very good.
Great room and facilities. Outdoor jet bathtub. Nice beach and pool facilities. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good drinks. Food wasn't particularly good.
Location Hotel staff was pathetic, didn't understand hospitality at all. Not at all good value for money. Rather stay at Barcelo, which is cheaper and better.
Other than the beautiful view of the beach and the couples massage at the spa there wasn't really much that we liked about our stay at the royal suites This hotel was by far the worst that either of us have EVER gone to. The food was absolutely disgusting other than at the Japanese restaurant and even that was mediocre. Try calling room service and you're lucky if they even answer the phone. We were promised so much and given so little.butler service? Our butler was Andre, he met us the first day we tipped him VERY WELL and we didn't see him for the rest of our stay. The language barrier is a struggle everywhere you go. Do NOT BOOK EXCURSIONS with men on the beach. We were promised a luxury catamaran to Catalina island with an all day BBQ and drinks. What we got, a broken down old fishing boat that was docked 80% of the day for scuba divers. Aside from that the sink leaked, power goes out, door is VERY EASY to break into from the patio, some items had gone missing from our room, and the extremely small casino will tell you they don't want to pay you your full winnings because it's too much. Needless to say we would never come back nor suggest this resort to anyone. In fact our 8 day trip was cut 3 days short due to a huge snow storm back home...thank goodness.
We loved the overall experience of the Resort. We had golf cart transportation all over the property and all the food and alcohol you could consume. Also for the guests of the Royal Suites we had access to top shelf liquor and swim up suites. The things that we did struggle with was the taste of the food and we also felt like the Resort was catering to the American way of eating instead of giving us the foods of the Dominican Culture. I also will say that when is comes to the rooms they are in need of new furniture you can see the wear and tear on them.
