The guesthouse is situated in the hillside, 6km from the main entrance of Plitvize lakes. The surrounding is very quite, the panorama from the room is beautiful. The apartment is run by a family. They are very kind, and helpful. The breakfast is rich consisting authentic Croatian products. You can also buy home-made honey and spirits from the family.
The guesthouse was immaculate, very clean and tidy and well-appointed, and set in peaceful, beautiful countryside away from the main road. The service was friendly and helpful; ensure you have cash to pay, however, as Mrs Hodak doesn't take cards. The guesthouse has a wonderful veranda where the very hearty breakfast is served and you can take a drink (bring your own) later in the day. For food in the evening, you can easily walk to a restaurant serving good Italian food on the main road. In all, the place has a lovely family atmosphere - incredibly relaxing.
The guesthouse is in a village c.12k from the main entrance to the Plitvice lakes - we knew this when booking, but you do have to rely on the local buses to get to the park (these are frequent, from the main road- if travelling back from the lakes, ensure you know the village's name, as busdrivers don't necessarily speak English). Be warned - take a map of this guesthouse's location, as there are numerous 'Hodak' guesthouses in the village, and this one is set back on a side road about 0.5km from the main road. If travelling down from Zagreb on the bus, you can actually get dropped off at a stop at the guesthouse's sideroad; keep your eyes peeled though, as if you miss the stop, you'll end up at the lakes themselves, and then need bus back.
Great welcome. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds and a good shower. Self catering feasible with plenty of utensils and a gas stove, etc (though prices in the local restaurant were so reasonable we didn't consider using them.)10 minutes by car from Plitvice national park (which is simply magnificent). Good advice on the park, when and where to go.
We were in the middle of a hot spell, and our room was very warm (no air con). But then it is a guesthouse, not a 4 star hotel.
Our hosts were so helpful & friendly, the room was modern and comfortable
We stayed during a heatwave, which the hosts could not control of course but a fan in the room (ceiling or pedestal) would have mae all the difference when trying to sleep at night
The lady running the B&B was amazing! She picked us up in her car when we couldnt find the house, she made us dinner free of charge on arrivel as we were exhausted from travelling, she did our laundry which was not expected, and in general always happy to help, and a very pleasant and friendly owner! Highly, highly recommended!
The staff is warm and friendly. This is a very cozy and family run Guest House. Room is clean and spacious.
Convenient to the nearby National Park. Marina was very friendly and welcoming. Nice location in the countryside.
A bit difficult to find so I recommend getting exact directions ahead of time.
The staff is friendly. You feel like at home. Excellent breakfast. Good location for the lakes
Warm welcome, very friendly. We received a welcome drink and had fruits in the bedroom. Nice balcony. Very generous breakfast that we could eat outside.
B&b away from road but still a bit noisy
