8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful scenery from the property.
Cons: Road to the property was in poor condition.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing on top of a hill with magnificent sea views. Swimming pool was great. I was there in May low season, so it was amazingly quiet, and I love it there. The breakfast was amazing; however, you can request any breakfast and they (Cook Matron- Faustina) will ensure it is done for you, same for lunch and dinner. I made loads of request with my husband; even if they don't have that food on their list they will make exception and go to the market and shop for that food and cook it for you. What I love most was the food was made fresh. I love the early morning fresh orange juice and my husband loves the fresh pineapple juice. The room has air condition and ceiling fan as a bonus, so you have a choice to use any and its great. Bed was comfortable, and you have quality linen sheets and its change every day, room clean daily and free bottle water. The people who made my stay worth-while was the staff are so polite and humble and kind and good listeners. I say good listeners because they will ensure all your request are made, and even if you forget they will call you to remind you. Sometimes I made request for breakfast and they will call to let me know it will be ready in about 15 minutes or so. I was not disappointed staying there at all because they staff made the place what its and I love them all. They were good to me and my husband. I love Emanuel, my husband like the Matron - Faustina because she made great food, my favourites were John and Raymond - smart boys’ kind and always there to assist you with whatever you need - seriously. My thanks to this lady Josephine - She is a cook, thanks for everything you did for me and my husband. Justice thank you for your kindness. If I don't mention your name you all made our stay unforgettable and I hope to come back for more. Because I have travel to Las Vegas, Florida - Disney, Europe no hotel you can request food not on the list, yet they can still shop and cook that for you- love it.
Cons: No entertainment but I was there on a low season. However, I went to town and visited Elmina Castle and enjoy the sea views that was enough for me.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The scenery, staff professionalism and friendliness.
Cons: Water wasn't hot throughout, but when notified they addressed the issue
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place, great views lovely big clean room, restaurant is fine and staff very helpful. Very relaxing place
Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: The rooms are very comfortable and clean -
Cons: There was a loud birthday party at the pool that went on all day - so we couldn’t use the pool or the outdoor area. Loud blaring music and people everywhere including the gardens.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views of the salt plains, clean and comfortable rooms with plenty of privacy. Great staff and well located for exploring Elmina.
Cons: Food in the restaurant was cooked from frozen which was disappointing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great location, great staff, food is ok.
Cons: idiotic bathroom doors, constant stream of chinese bus tours is a bit grim.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It’s really a gorgeous place, with attentive and helpful staff, great garden (with an unbeatable pool) and stunning view over the salt ponds, the Bantama fishing village, the ocean (and the Elmina Castle, of course). Ask the from desk to organize a guided tour to the Asafo companies shrines.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxed location close to Elmina - overlooking the town and the ocean, with a nice pool area and clean, comfortable rooms that have private balconies. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. It's a good location for exploring Kakum and Cape Coast as well as Elmina
Cons: Not sure if it was day guests or residents but the pool area was quite noisy (multiple sets of music playing!) at times so not quite as relaxing as I'd anticipated....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great views over Elmina. European owner nicely maintained. Great setting on top of a hill. Pool etc... Good to rest. So full points in spite if some remarks.
Cons: Administration is Ghanean style. Restaurant has no airco... Depends on your liking if this is a minus. For me it was ok often a nice breeze on top of a hill. Single airco-units in the rooms noisy. But we are in the tropics

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were welcoming and helpful. There was 11 people in our group and we ate two meals at the restaurant. Each time everyone was satisfied with their food selections. It is a little farther off the main road than we realized but it is worth the drive if you are looking for a clean, casual place to relax and enjoy. The owners offer a nice selection of local activities and we were impressed with their work at helping the communities around them.
7.5 Good
Pros: Atmosphere
Cons: Very hot in the room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was wonderful. The property feels like one big garden just going down to the sea. The staff are very nice and the food (especially the Ghanaian dishes) was excellent. It was relaxing and casual. A perfect family friendly oasis getaway.
Cons: The rooms are a little basic although the bathrooms are lovely. The mosquito nets came in handy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great!
7.5 Good
Pros: The food was very good. clean and tidy rooms. staff especially Bright and all the kitchen ladies, very good customer service, we were impressed.
Cons: It is a bit far from Elmina Castle and Kakum park, which we didn't realise, please update your website. This didn't ruin our stay. A music night or cultural night would of been excellent.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was lovely, the beach was kept clean and their were chairs dotted around everywhere to relax on. We had dinner on the beach each night which made it extra special. The service was good, although food took a while to come out but once we knew this was the case we didn't mind so much. Really relaxed atmosphere throughout the resort. The shower in our room was amazing!! Thank you
Cons: The food could come out a bit quicker. We appreciate its all made fresh but still took longer than we felt needed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed that you ordered your food and a time in advance so no waiting! Food was lovely
Cons: No fridge or aircon although there was a nice through breeze
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The beach at Ko-Sa is my favorite that I have found in Ghana. There is a sheltered pool created by rocks jutting out into the ocean where you can swim in calm water, without the rough waves that are omnipresent along this coast. The hotel is simple, but far more nicely designed than other hotels in this class in Ghana, and with a number of well-considered touches such as plenty of places to hang wet items from the beach and other clothing. The lighting is pleasant in both the rooms and the dining area, a welcome change from the bright white fluorescent lights favored by most establishments. The staff are very nice, the food is very good, and it is even possible to have an espresso with breakfast. Highly recommended.
Cons: Our only complaint is that it was pretty hot for sleeping in our room. The usual ocean breeze was taking a break the night we stayed here, and there was little airflow in the room even with the ceiling fan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff, service and functional, eco-friendly facilities in a very nice and clean environment (and beautiful garden). Excellent price-quality ratio for family stay, exceeding our expectations. Very clean and good, safe kitchen without any unpleasant surprise. Beach has a safe area for children and with taxi from nearby Ampeny, you can easily discover South-West Ghana. The friendliness of staff was amazing, too!
Cons: Nothing related to the resort. We can recommend Ko-Sa without any hesitation!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food, good customer service. Everything very clean. Simple but comfortable. Shared bathrooms very clean.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location on Brenu Beach is everything we could have hoped for - really beautiful beach, mice room, super efficient and helpful staff, very good food.
Cons: The only downside is the miserable road into the property....but it does keep it nicely isolated!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and amazing staff. A must-visit.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the meals were nice
Cons: method of payment. no POS, had to keep traveling to cape coast to withdraw cash
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the location, and the rooms! The beach is stunningly beautiful and since we came during the week it was as though we had our own private beach. All of the staff were wonderful, particularly the manager Francis and a young man named Abraham who never stopped smiling. I felt so welcomed and well taken care of. The food was excellent and the rooms were simple and cozy. The beds were enormous and since I had to work I was able to work in my room and on the beach with no issue. I absolutely plan to return to Brenu in the future it was a highlight of my trip.
Cons: I wish the water pressure was a little bit better for the hot water, but that is not at all unusual for the area. I was able to comfortably take showers and had plenty of water available which I greatly appreciated.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: More than enough breakfast served. Fruit, omelettes, fresh coconuts...it was lovely. I also love the native dishes.
Cons: There was nothing I did not like. It was amazing!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What can I say - if you look for an absolute luxury resort, this is perhaps not the standard you seek. For everyone else (and I am a frequent West African traveller, know Ghana very well, and have an idea of prices and possibilities), this is possibly as good as you can get it. Wonderfully located at the beachside, nice facilities, excellent food (even - or especially - if you want to have best local food, what a wonderful Groundnut Soup, fantastic) - and a very friendly and very professional staff. I normally never give a 10, but that's merited. The right place for a weekend after hard work (or to recover from touristic travel towards Kumase or the north) or so!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect...its like a gem in the ocean. The cottages are in tip top shape. When you are there you don't want to leave.
Cons: There is very little to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Brenu is jewel in Cape Coast. The hotel is off the beaten path and perfect for a relaxing, peaceful vacation. The facilities are very clean and comfortable but what makes this lodge exceptional is its staff. The employees, Francis, Abraham, Jojo (and others) made our stay memorable.
Cons: none
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were the best assets here. There is a community next to the hotel, so you watch people working together.
Cons: The long "road" to get to the hotel! It was like a roller coaster ride. I don't like rollercoasters.

5.0 Okay
Pros: location close to castles
Cons: airco in the room waiting time at the restaurent even when ordered before swimming pool PH and Chloryde out of range
5.5 Okay
Pros: The owner appears to be very supportive and attentive to advice and suggestions.
Cons: There was no intercom in the rooms and one had to walk all the way to the reception to request a service. for the price, one also expected at least a tea kettle in the room and tea bags or coffee as complimentary. very disappointing there was none. the breakfast was also very poor for the price. was given a cup of tea as breakfast and when i requested an extra tea bag i was told to pay 10ghc. tea bags should be basic and possibly readily available in the rooms and the dinning tables at all times. in all extremely too expensive for the services provided. the hotel does not qualify to be granted a two star given the shortcomings.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Swimming pool, suite and food was very good. The staff and service was excellent.
6.3 Good
Pros: The Wifi access was good and the swimming pool
Cons: The location- we thought we were booking something closer to everything. Additionally, it was very hard to access the beach. The primary reason we booked that hotel was because of the beach.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good food (this is where I fell in love with Red Red with beef) and Staff were fantastic. Christabel and Michael served us well. Medasse!!
Cons: A bit far from Elmina Castle and need a good car to get there but worth the track!!
9.5 Excellent

7.5 Good

Cons: Very Quiet no atmosphere, shame about the sea defence boulders others tranquil place
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Such a wonderful stay, thank you so much to Ben and his team! A lovely, clean room, great AC - beautifully cool!, and a beautiful sea view. Breakfast was delicious and we loved the fresh coconuts! The hotel is really peaceful and in a great spot by the sea, the pool is lovely and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. The restaurant food was really delicious, home cooked and fresh and very reasonably priced. We’d love to return.
7.5 Good
Pros: The environment
Cons: Room looks dry. Add some glasses, coffee, etc

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was the perfect ending to my three weeks in Ghana, I had been up to the north and wanted to have a couple of quiet days on the coast before returning home. The Beach House was perfect if you just want to get away from everything and just relax. It is a small family run guest house, on the edge of a little village right on the best beach I saw in Ghana, this location is a perfect getaway. I was only going to stay one night but extended my stay for another two nights, the staff at The Beach House really care about their guest and will do whatever they can do to make sure your stay is as you like. They have a nice meal area on the third floor overlooking the beach, where breakfast is prepared fresh each morning for you, and I also had a couple of meals in the evening. If you want a simple, clean, out the way hotel, with great staff, next to a fantastic beach and would like to support a local business employing locals, then you can not pass The Beach House.
Cons: Leaving
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fine same as everywhere else.
Cons: The breakfast could be half the price of what it is to be honest! :)
6.8 Good
Pros: nice beach in front of hotel the village next to hotel is typical fisherman village with charm of local place. no restaurants
Cons: the facilities were not kept and somehow outdated
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The sea and beach view. The lovely big air conditioned rooms. The food, the staff especially the manager, Solomon. The easy availablity of excursions and being able to relax as much as I wanted
Cons: To reach the hotel, you have to be prepared for a 15 minute drive on a very poor road, but it's very much worth it. The bed is harder than I'm used to, but it's very big.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is set on a beautiful stretch of beach with the restaurant overlooking the surf. There are charming touches throughout, and the place continues to undergo renovations to build on success. Staff is absolutely lovely, and will do their best to meet any request. The restaurant has wonderful food- the fresh juice is wonderful, Aeropress coffee a delight, loved the rum and coconut drink they put in coconut at our request - and the Ghanaian food was delicious. Food was cooked to order with care, so plan to take your time and enjoy the beautiful views during meals. Loved the manager and was really impressed with the stay- hope to make it this way again! Also- they offer a range of local classes from cooking to drums!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful beachfront location, wonderful hosts, delicious food. Quiet location.
7.5 Good
Pros: The ower's friendliness was amazing. She has been very helpful and clear in giving us instructions on how to find the property. She has done all she could to make our stay enjoyable. The food was also very good.
Cons: We suffered from a water supply cut and a mistake done by staff, so there was basically no or very very little running water during the two days of our stay. Nevertheless the owner and her staff have done what they could to provide water in sufficient quantity for us to wash :) Overall the property still needs some improvements, but they are very clear on the host's mind so the potential of the house will surely be exploited at its best in the future.
7.5 Good
Pros: Eunice the owner was an excellent host!! We will definitely come back!!
Cons: The road to the house needs fixing but not of the owner's fault but the of the township.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly stuff
Cons: The food was nothing special n expensive.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: friendly
Cons: more food options
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The cleanness
Cons: The distance to the beach
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were simple but spotless. The whole place is very clean and nice. The management is very hands on.
Cons: If you're vegan or vegetarian you might want to inform them ahead and give specific dishes you'd like to eat. But they can prepare something either way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food
4.5 Okay
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: The stuff. Breakfast - for the toast there ist only orange-jam. Nothing else. By asking the answer ist only "NO, nothing else" and the breakfast isn´t cheep. The stuff don´t no the words "please" or "thank you". There ist only one lamp in the room, just behind the ventilator, so you get flash light. Same dinner every day, so go for that to the resort at the beach.
Akomapa Village - Elmina
7.7 Good (35 reviews)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A good place to stay with friendly people. Is nice now but is going to be a very nice place when the building is finished. Our room with sea view was very nice and nicely furnished with brightly Ghana colours
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely genuine and friendly. Manager is very helpful! Safe location. Quiet and serene. Sits on the water and has a nice upper deck to watch the waves crash over a meal. Close enough to Elmina Junction and Castle. The manager assisted with taxi and directions. Also able to contact them if anything is needed! Close enough to walk to the junction. They made sure I was safe and even checked on me periodically since I was a solo lady traveler.
Cons: My stay was too short but I’ll be back!
7.5 Good
Pros: This guest house is run by a community and group of volunteers who dedicate their time to encourage, educate and entertain kids of the village near by. All the revenues go to sustain this beautiful work. If you stay there, you might wake up with sounds of children dancing and playing drums. The accommodation and its facilities are very basic, but totally worth to stay here and value their work.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This place is the perfect place to be. The rooms are nothing special but for the price more then alright. But the people are absolutely amazing...So Incredible helpful and nice. They try to organise everything for you...the owner ist kind of an artist (music and much more) and this you can feel everywhere...they screen football and have somtimes shows...Also you can use the pool and the beach from the luxurious resort next door (for the pool you need to pay extra). Stay happy and take care.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was nice to eat outside with a view of the sea. The rooms were tidy and clean and it was price worthy.
Cons: The music was loud on our first evening. The breakfest wasn't particularly inspiring. The view from the platform isn't beautiful (due to the wave breaker) and smell from the beach is bad.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was served fresh every morning whilst sat watching the sea. The music and traditional drums and dancers is a sight to behold. Kids train after schools, this place is more a community hub than a holiday place , but makes for a more authentic and enriched experience during the stay. Honestly felt like a home from home , the people are family and therefore you feel a part of it if only for the time you stay . You become extended family by the time you leave and so much culture and local references.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The price is the best about this place. Hard to find anything comparable in Elmina. Bed was okay. Room was clean and big.
Cons: It's quite far off the main town. Power went off for several hours one night, for some friends the entire night. Thus rooms are not ventilated pretty warm. No water when I arrived but this gut fixed.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The place is located in front of the locals toilet, and I mean literally the whole village goes in front of the seafront to poop and the smell is really bad. The place also don´t have any beach as there is a shore protection made of massive stones all along this beach stretch. You have to walk 10 min to the next beach resort where you pay 6 euro to swim. And you can´t swim there either as there as massive rocks in the water. There is also no wifi, even though the description says "free wifi". Breakfast took over an hour to prepare and we had to cancel the breakfast in order to make it to another appointment. We only stayed one night out of booking of 3 nights as it was a real disappointment.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, food. All were excellent.
6.8 Good
Pros: Rooms are basic but ok ; Breakfast simple but fine but we would not have expected more for this price. Really exceptional is the nice project these people are running with the local children from the village to learn them drumming and dancing. We got( but asked for) a nice performance on the last evening and supported them accordingly. They are also running a small classroom and any material you can bring with you, is really appreciated
Cons: NO electricity at night because of weather storm, but that is not their fault. Again price is fair for what you get.

6.3 Good
Pros: I liked the friendly staff and the location - 5 min walk from the beach. Ben, the owner agreed to give me a lift to Kankun National park, which is about a 60-minute drive from Jackson Guest House. My advice: negotiate properly about prices in advance or you will find yourself squeezed in the end which is humiliating. .
Cons: There was no one to offer me breakfast in the morning, which was supposed to be included. I insisted on mine and had it later...for lunch:) The area wasn't mosquito proved in all places which was threatening. My bedroom was fairly safe though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was the best hotel we have been in Ghana. Owners are very friendly and helpful, keeping the place exceptionally clean and welcoming.
6.8 Good
Pros: I like the rooms ,all is big and comfortable.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The garden for the breakfast was pleasant and surrounded by plants. The owner of the hotel was very nice.
Cons: The room was very small and basic, and did not look anything like the advertised pictures. The bathroom smelled and was not very clean. While the room was advertised as having an ocean view, the hotel is quite far from the ocean and you could only glean the ocean through two screen doors, and could not even go outside.
7.0 Good
Pros: Cool vibes and decorations with pan-African heroes. Nice patio and friendly staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The guest house is very pleasant, with beautiful tropical flowers in the front courtyard. Sonia, the owner, is the perfect host, always checking we were happy with our stay and our meals. She's very warm and friendly and we really enjoyed chatting to her. The breakfasts were very good, with lots of delicious fruit. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a small balcony. It was quiet at night. We felt very much at home there and were sorry to leave!
Cons: Our shower attachment needed fixing, but everything else was great!
Icons Inn - Elmina - Building
7.2 Good (17 reviews)
7.5 Good
Cons: Although they have power backup but still need some improvement
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Philomena was so special, she went above and beyond to make my kids happy; sorry if I misspelled your name. So please ask about her and all your requests will be taken care of.
Cons: This might not concern them, but the owner has to try something to make the place easily accessible especially during the raining season.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff was super helpful and friendly.
Cons: There was no hot water and enough air in the bedroom
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The place is isolated so there is less noise. They have a baby size pool but it's ok.
Cons: Their reception was very poor. The manager of the place was very rude. There did not serve breakfast but it is displayed on their site that they do. I asked for breakfast and I was told there is not breakfast. Their rooms are very small compared to what is seen on the internet. The road leading to the place is terrible. Their number on the site does not work. They are very unprofessional.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was awesome. Cool place for hide out.
Cons: Luck of various food.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is quite away from any facilities so a taxy is always required, which the hotel can quickly arrange. If you like peace and quiet away from city life this is a fine place. There was a pool of adequate size and accompanying bar and large garden. Staff were polite and friendly Very fair price.
Cons: Location and surroundings
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff I met were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The access road could be improved.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff
Cons: The direction to the place
9.3 Excellent
