I'm a Pastor and I asked for a 1pm checkout due to a wedding ceremony I was performing in Huntington Beach at 4pm. Initially I was told no problem. I called on Saturday morning to confirm and my request was denied. Staff did not apologize, offer any solutions and I was very disappointed.
Likes: free parking, clean rooms, kind staff Internet did not work
I was a beautiful place to stay, clean and the staff was great. I would surely go back and stay longer for pleasure this time!!!!!
The staff are always friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is great. The beds are comfortable. The place is generally quite cozy, as well as clean. The USB outlets are a nice modern touch. Pretty much my only complaint is that the hotel is very close to the John Wayne Airport and you get woken up promptly at 7am by the first departing flights, which continue to make noise until around 11pm. Otherwise the hotel is nice and quiet.
Everything about the hotel was really really good. It is such a good value for the money. The beds were very comfortable the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again anytime.
liked the restaurant in the courtyard There were large bugs in our bathroom -- unacceptable
The room was very large and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and aesthetically pleasing, although I was unable to spend much time there due to a business conference I was attending. I read good things about the restaurant, however, was unable to check it out for the same reasons. I was given the opportunity to check-in before noon and to request additional towels, both of which I selected. However, upon arrival I was told that I was unable to check-in early AND that, even if possible, it would cost an additional $40. Furthermore, I did not receive additional towels. So, my question became, why even offer these things if you're not going to provide them upon request.
Reliable excellent service and accommodations! We are always impressed with our experience at Ayres!
I didn't like much. My experience was horrible here. We were lied to by the staff. Due to their lies, we ended up stranded at the event we were attending. We booked this hotel specifically for the free shuttle, and even made sure of times and venue location that it would all work out. Well, it didn't and the customer service desk did NOTHING to resolve. What an awful experience! I will never stay there again!
Excellent service. Staff were very helpful and friendly!
Nice area to behind the hotel to walk. Larger room size Service was somewhat lacking. I stayed 3 nights. My room was never serviced by the cleaning crew after I checked in. Mattress was very firm and not very comfortable. Hotel nickel and dimes for everything. Self parking was $22 a night. Hotel Concierge wanted to charge me an additional $20 a night when I (a solo traveller) requested a king bed upon arrival instead of two queens, even though the hotel was half empty and the published rates of the king rooms were $35 less a night than the nightly rate I had paid for my stay.
Loved that I was able to do early check in and was offered complimentary late check out. Enjoyed the elegant atmosphere. The heated pool was our favorite. Walking distance to dinner and to the mall to do some shopping. Parking was a bit expensive $27.00 to be exact.
Maids never knocked, great black out curtains Had a 5 night stay and everything was perfect Nothing Unless they wanted me to get a free stay ????
Love the incentive to forgo Housekeeping daily in exchange $5 voucher. Some aspects seemed a little dates (ie the elevator, room furniture).
We paid $158 per night plus taxes and $20 per night self parking. It was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Front door staff and housekeeping were helpful and friendly.
Just steps away from the Segerstrom Theatre and across the street from South Coast Plaza. Well kept, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The room was very comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the entire experience. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
It was clean, upper scale, and was treated well.
I love the Area and the building and its surroundings
Location. Starbucks inside hotel. Great bath amenities. There was one issue with the bedding upon arrival. Other than that, was a very nice experience.
The staff at Check in was not exactly accommodating to the people in line. The gentlemen behind the counter was having a conversation about non work related subjects with a guest, although claiming it to be hotel and check in related, while we stood in line for 15-20 minutes. For a 4 star hotel, the check in process was not that of a 4 star rating. The check in process is more of a 1 star.
The front door man Mike was excellent, always had the best smile and attitude each time we went in and out. Our bell hops to and from the hotel were also wonderful. Our server at the lounge was also excellent and attentive. This location is perfect since it has easy access to dining, shops and the freeway. We will definitely be back! No negatives
Convenient location, comfortable room, adequate parking, good value given prices of other hotels in the area. A metal clanking repeatedly from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., which woke me up multiple times the one night I was there, which I didn't hear the rest of my stay. It makes me think it was the result of cleaning or maintenance; if so, it's a poor choice at that time of day and inconsiderate.
TheDesk Was Very Nice...Checked To Make Sure Room Was good
I enjoyed the staff, welcoming and polite. Bathroom toilet light did not work. AC too loud. Stains on carpet.
The ac vent rattled and made noise as it was turned on . It was a loud enough noise that you would notice and if you could get passed that then you would have no problem sleeping . Room was nice and clean . Pool was nice
Property is just starting to show its use/worn. Staff was excellent. Door to room didn't work upon arrival and day 2. Staff fixed right away and comp'd me breakfast for the trouble. Room: carpet a tad worn. Some small maintenance items in the room, nothing major. Cap missing on toilet seat. Electrical conduit falling off wall. Couple spots on bed frame workout. Bathroom was awesome. Bed/ sheets super clean and incredibly comfortable. HVAC worked well/quiet fan.
Comfortable bed, clean room, nice shower, decent pool, really close to shopping and Maggianos. Toilet room had no ceiling vent to air out the stink after taking a #2 and I was not informed there would be a $10 charge for parking until I checked out.
Everything exceeded my expectations. Staff was VERY kind. Room was way more than I paid for. Everything was just perfect. I have absolutely no complaints what so ever. All around great!
Clean. Staff was kind and polite 1) room was very small 2) we arrived 20 min early and waited. And waited as if the only room in the huge hotel was the small Kayak rate room??
Good shower. Rain style shower head. Good restaurant and friendly staff. Lotion in the bathroom was already used. No refrigerator in room. Location of ice only on the first floor. Old furniture. 10 dollars a night for parking.
Location only The air conditioner wasn't working, was too hot, we open the window and a lot of noise
Comfort No room service Weird shower stall that is made so its hard to reach handles
Good hotel, excellent location. Clean and comfortable. The music in the lobby is a bit loud.
I liked the pool, room size, little market downstairs with reasonable prices, location to where I was going and the feel of the hotel. There is a mini refrigerator that you can fill up. I like the concept, instead of an overpriced minibar. The front desk was confused as to when breakfast ended. (We were told 8am which is ridiculous, but it was actually 9:30.) we missed a few days due to thinking we missed it. The carpet and little features could be updated, but for the most part it was clean. We would stay again.
I had a problem with another room being extremely loud and disruptive,, the front desk and security took care of the situation, quickly. Also, the GM comped my valet charges...still not what I expected from a hotel like this.
Loved the market place and the Dj at the bar in the evenings!
I stayed a long weekend here with my friend and the lovely people at hotel Irvine really made us feel like welcome guests! From the complimentary bikes, to the Friday night movie on the lawn, to the friendly and delightful staff, every minute here was relaxing and stress-free. My friend has severe food allergies which the staff graciously and professionally worked arround for her. It really meant a lot to be able to enjoy my mini-vacation knowing that everything we needed was being taken care of. Thank you so much!
Impressive, grand entry, airily quick check-in, comfortable beds, clean shower Music at the bar was so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. In addition the check-in attendant never told me details, such check-out time or that a continental breakfast was included ( I had to ask the next morning). They seemed rushed and ready for the next customer. Another issue was non-smoking on a designated non-smoking floor. I smelled smoke as I slept and saw butts on the carpet in the hallway. Lastly, breakfast was limited to toast, cold cereal, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs.
We loved our room with a view. Even though the hotel was busy with dance competition and softball teams, our room was quiet and service was great. We will definitely be back soon!
roomy, price and location Long wait for checking in and room availability; wifi did not work for our iPhones and computer. These devices worked in all hotels preceding this one.
Pool was great! Lots of space and fun games around the pool. Rooms were nice, good breakfast and fun bar/lounge
The hotel is centrally located and six minutes from the airport, making it a great choice if you've an early morning departure or late night arrival. Our room was very quiet. The Marketplace was great for snacks and provided a good selection of tasty foods. The staff was friendly and the bed comfortable. The parking fee of $22-24 per night seems excessive for a suburb like Irvine which is pretty much made of concrete, shopping malls and parking lots. The sink drain didn't work properly, one of my pet peeves in a hotel in any price category and unexpected in this type of hotel.
TOO LARGE THROUGHT IT WAS A BOUTIQU
I enjoyed how peaceful and quiete the stay was. No microwave available in room.
I would highly recommend this hotel. Great location near freeways, shops, beaches. Great facilities and staff. Would stay again.
The staff was helpful and business like. Kathleen and the cook were the most friendly people We've ever met. Even though we were the only ones there for dinner, we were treated like royalty. The room was spacious and clean.
I usually only stay at Best Westerns. But after my experience at the Newport Mesa Inn I never want to go again. Basically got kicked out of continental breakfast because we had a service dog, even though I let them know and asked questions when I checked in the night before. Couldn't even get one glass of juice without being stopped and asked to leave "the common area" because people complained. Really? A couple complaints within a minute? We walked in minding our own business and our dog was quiet in our own arms, beahving perfectly fine. And for those ignorant people's information, we purposely got a small, hypoallergenic nonshedding dog so it would be less inconvenient, especially for those with allergies. Maybe you can at least bother to ask us some questions before just asking us to leave. So we check to see if we can at least sit outside, but that area is occupied by people smoking. So they seriously want us to eat our breakfast outside in the smoking area? And we can't take it to our room either? It says, "The ADA mandates that the service dog and handler have access to all public places. This is the law." So is the hotel and their "common area" not a public place? "Businesses may not: Refuse admittance, isolate, segregate, or treat this person less favorably than other patrons." I'm so angry even as I'm typing this, because it just reminds me what annoying trouble we went through. I have never had this problem at hotels until today. I have half a mind of suing these people, or taking it up to corporate. We came to celebrate my fiancé's birthday and our anniversary, but we left feeling degraded, and our day in Newport was ruined. Thanks Best Western.
I liked the fact that it was so close to the OC Fair grounds. And also I like the serviceand attention the staff provided. n/a
Close to the venue we had to attend
Helpful and cheerful staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Few restaurants in walking distance.
they were always helpful. Convenient location. Complete breakfast. Big rooms. It should be a 4 * hotel
Clean, comfortable rooms. Laundry facilities if I wanted to do my own laundry. Cleaning service if I wanted that. Very professional Staff.
Big bedroom Location: literally on the highway. Breakfast not as good
It was located just across the OC Fairgrounds which very convenient ifuring the fair. It is also easily accessible near the H73 and H55. Also close to all the beaches (Huntington, Newport and Laguna) and shopping malls. Some rooms are too close to the backyard parking. Breakfast has no fruits !!!!!!!!!!
Location- however- think about driving a longer distance than staying close- The food was processed and bad- the hotel was old, bathrooms were dingy- floors dirty- sad the call it an ok hotel. The air didn't work- and the manager said it did- how about the customer is right???? It was just a place to set out heads! Nothing more- ohhhh and ice machine sucke as well-
Location was good Everything.
Location Room wasn't cleaned properly. Broken crackers on the floor and a beer left in the freezer. (Maybe the free beer wasn't so bad).
It was good service but food was ok
Beds are amazing!!
Great location, nice accommodations, excellent staff. Overall an excellent hotel but we will not be going back. The walls are paper thin and you could hear our neighbors talking all night! Then in the morning you could here the upstairs kids! We were there two nights and couldn't sleep either night.
Clean, quiet, comfortable, easy in and out, great location. Close enough to walk to many amenities, groceries, drug store, sit down dinner, fast food....ect. Slow internet, no towels at pool, had problems with room key cards, and they need to screen their employees Better !!!! almost lost a phone to an employee !! Won't be staying there again.
Great location and near lots of food/entertainment. It was quite loud with lots of people outside and hanging out throughout day/night.
Nothing Everything was horrible. We were locked out of our room for a couple hours because they had to reprogram the door lock. The lady at the front desk was not professional and the service was not satisfactory. Never going there again
Not much, the room was a good size and clean but the client list was not what you would want to be in the middle of. Rooms close to mine had people having late night parties, sex and drugs. Police and ambulance had to be called in because some one overdose on drugs. So from 2am until 6 am could not sleep because of the load nose in rooms around mine. No help from the front desk, wasted money, I was better to sleep in the car.
It is a very nice place to stay when doing business in OC. This is my second stay there, and I have no problem using there services again in the future. Not as clean as I would like, a bit on the older side as far as the facility itself, but it is a nice place.
The hotel was comfortable, safe & convenient. We were able to walk to "Triangle" for great restaurant options & tried Creamistry ice cream. So close to Newport Beach, that we didn't waste time driving to the beach. So close to John Wayne Airport that we didn't waste time driving to get to airport. The only thing missing was a free continental breakfast, but the hotel had a restaurant. However, with the quaint Side Street Cafe within walking distance, we had breakfast there.
The staff was friendly and helpful The air conditioner didn't work well enough to reach the bedroom in the back. The couch was pretty broken down and uncomfortable.
The rooms were large and comfortable as was the bed. After a long day of sightseeing, with very tired bodies, it was nice to get into bed and relax. Early on Sunday morning about 0830, the power went out. And it stayed out. We checked the internet for Southern Cal Edison, the power company, and it showed the outage and also said it was out til 2:00 pm. When we checked out, the front desk staff said they knew about the outage but it wasn't supposed to be as long as it ended up to be. A couple of issues here, one, they should have notified everyone staying there by letter in the room or give them notice that there was a scheduled outage and what time. Two, what would have happened if someone got hurt, say, they were in the shower that morning with no notice and the were in a pitch black bathroom because that's how dark the bathroom is with no lights. Other than that, nice hotel, but parking and valet were expensive ($25 overnight and $33 for valet).
Close to the mall. No clean rooms available upon arrival. It took 40min waiting in the lobby to get a room that was already reserved.
veronica was very helpful showing my wife and i the wayto the pool she went out of her way to help us when i booked breakfast buffet was included when i arrived and try to get our voucher for breakfast the desk said it was not included this added 100 more dollars to my stay so all in all it was not a great deal
The restaurant service was the worst service I have ever experienced in 35 years of travelling to the USA. The waiter at breakfast on both mornings was the worst I have had anywhere in the world.Despite complaining on the first morning the service was the same the next day
Nothing Wifi never worked although several attempts with staff to fix issue Executive lounge sub par Room sub par Parking charge per day too expensive
House cleaning didn't wake me up at 7 am which was nice Parking $25; tv didn't work; iron didn't work.
Close to Newport restaurants Found used silverware outside door at 4pm checkin. At 11:30pm silverware still there. Found used eyelashes on sink at checkin. No bathtub. Disappointed stay for the $220 nite rate
Great gym and pools. Very nice outdoor setting. Parking costs additional $35/ day. Rooms are clean but feel old and cheap. They add 20% tip to the bill for any service provided...food.
The water slide for kids was pretty cool and the food was good, although pricy. Self parking is really far from the rooms. Plus you have to walk up a steep hill to get from the parking to your room. They don't have ramps to some of the areas. Had to carry out stroller down to the pool with the slide. The walls in rooms are really thin. Our room was next to the maid service room so pretty much the whole nights we would hear door slamming, people talking and carts being moved around. On our last night we could hear a couple arguing in the next room for like an hour. We could literally hear every word. We had two small children with us so all the noise would wake them up. Pictures on the web look nice but in real life the hotel is not even close to it. The lobby is the only nice area in the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were very nice with lots of places to sit and enjoy them. They have concerts on Friday night and they are quite loud, we were not notified they would be going on. I think that guest should be advised when they make their resevations.
Nothing The towels were cheap, resort and valet fees were excessive. I felt like I was staying in the holiday inn. Will never go back.
Not much See above
Gorgeous landscape and places to relax. Kids at adult only pool!
Maybe decor needs updating
Pool area not cleaned up well....needs facelift badly! Bar Mitzvah at hotel was noisy at night. Expensive self-parking ($27 per day) and "resort fee" ($25 per day) adds significant cost to room.
The room was very nice and modern. Valet parking efficient. The resort fee was an unnecessary and unreasonable charge. The Friday night brunch is $50 apiece and worth under $20. They served dried our turkey breast at the carving station that had to be covered in gravey. The beef chunks were very tough. Don't eat there. Bring snacks and drinks. A bottle of beer is $4.50 the resort store. Poolside service is only during summer. This is Southern California. Summer is year around.
Very quiet and relaxing. The grounds are well kept, the room was very spacious. There are a lot of activities and the location of the hotel is great, you can drive to the beach in 5 minutes, fashion island is next door and Sherman's gardens are just down the road. Parking is expensive ($25/day) and the lot is a bit of a hike from the hotel depending on which room you have.
The staff are very helpful and cheerful. Bar area is limited and subject to a lot of noise from families passing through or as part of a large concert crowd that can dominate the whole area at weekends. The resort is more than walking distance to most other shopping or restaurant areas or the beach. No quiet area for a drink and conversation.
A little run down. The room smelled "wet" and mildewy. The pool was nice and quiet and we enjoyed the ping pong table, even though there was only one ball that was cracked.
Liked it there very much. The temp in the room was either freezing or warm.
I love the pool area, and a staff member even gave out free Popcycles to the kids! Staff also quickly brought us a crib all set up and ready to use. I like that there is a seperation between rooms. Rooms are on the small side, but suited our needs. It would be a tight squeeze with more than 2 kids.
Having to pay $24 a night for parking is ridiculous!
Hotel Staff were very nice. Pool area had Black Widow webs and eggs under chairs and tables. Notified the front desk.
Beach front location. Not worth it, deluxe king $536 was dated and noisy on the ground floor. Lots of extra charges - rest fee $25, valet $36, breakfast allowance $75, if two people take the buffet and have a coffee each that's already over the $75 allowance! Rude, defensive front desk. Very unimpressed.
The hotel was clean and location was fantastic. No parking. I was charged a 25$ fee per day as a "resort fee". I have never seen this in my entire life, and this fee was not included when I made the booking. I feel cheated by kayak. Complained to reception at checkout and they said all I can do is email kayak.
Probably the most excellent staff at any Hyatt, I have ever stayed. It was my daughter's 9th birthday and they made her feel like a million bucks. Send a card to the room signed my more staff members than I have family. The pools are great. The water slides are even better and the beach is clean and well-maintained. I will be coming back.
Loved the pools and access to so many things around the hotel The smoke detectors went off at 3:15 am in both the hallway and 1 of our 2 room suite! A neighbor then began yelling at someone else about having a cigarette. We even had to change from our original room due to the lingering smell of smoke from previous guests.
The staff was absolutely amazing. So friendly and accommodating. Really made the hotel something special. The shower/bathroom wasn't great, and the walls were paper thin. Also, the bed wasn't very comfortable.
Great location with everything you could ever want in a resort hotel.
The hotel was very accommodating and the staff was nice. They had all the amenities from beech crushers to surf boards. The kids had fun in the pools and roasting marshmallows. All around great time!!!! The long walk to the room from the lobby!
Service, food and property was good .Beach location was wonderful
Our hotel reeked of smoke even though it was considered a non-smoking room. I wouldn't have minded except that I have two young children and the hotel was at 100% capacity. Also, $38/night for parking is a little ridiculous.
The place is awesome and we really enjoyed it The place is 5stars but the service and the employees are 0 stare
Much better than the Ritz @ Laguna Nigel or Montage. Outstanding service
EVERYTHING was Amazing. The view, service, room service, amenities and the room was perferct We loved everything
Beautiful resort! Loved our room. Food was amazing! Love the boutique on site. Front desk was great. Had an early check in. Staff overall was very slow and not to experienced when it came to bellman and room service. Every time we called for something we sat on hold for a period of time. Then when we left the resort i couldn't see out of my car windows. I had hard water spots all over my beautiful clean mercedes. The sprinklers covered my car and when i asked the valet to help with windex they looked at me like I was crazy.
the views and the bungalow room was great food service (both in room and at the pool lunch) was slow, inaccurate and not as expected. although the food quality was very good.
The staff is VERY sweet and helpful. Great location. Valets were SO SWEET! Extremely clean. My ONLY problem was I reserved TWO DOUBLE BEDS. I brought my 15 year old daughter and her best friend For a one night getaway. I received an am txt that our room would be ready at 4pm.. So we went to fashion island for fun lunch at Lemonade And some shopping. When we went to check in.. At 4pm.. I was told That they had over sold and our room had one king bed. In my reservation I specified THREE PEOPLE! I feel like I got bumped cuz I reserved thru kayak... Paid less. They brought up a HUGE rollaway That took up half the room. We couldn't even make room for it.. So we all 3 slept in one bed. Not the end of the world.. But I would have appreciated better communication. Beautiful hotel and we had a lot of fun.
It was close to malls and movies. Not the best views in Newport
Visiting a family member in hospital. Your Marriott staff could not have been more accommodating. The Concierge lounge was perfect. I can not think of anything
The friendliness of the staff
The greeting by front desk @ 3:00AM after a horrendous flight from east coast was so very welcome. That attitude was evident during my entire four night stay. Marriott has never forgotten that hospitality is about the people, more than just a place to rest your body. This was an overall great experience. I do not have a single suggestion on improving anything I experienced
Marriott hotels have always been an enjoyable experience. The room, location and overall stay was very nice. The in room dining as well as pool service staff was beyond slow. The drinks by the pool had a 30 minute ticket time and I had to call in room dining 6 times before my what was supposed to be surprise order of champagne arrived. I'm in the industry as well and understand things get busy. The in room dining gave us some strawberries as an apology for the delay which was nice but th pool staff did nothing to appease everyone's clear annoyance with the slowness of service. It wouldn't deter me from returning necessarily but it does make me question the hiring process at this location. Not only was the pool staff slow, the gentleman had the personality of a shoe.
Fantastic location.Great value for money.Very clean.Great pool and jacuzzis.Will definitely be back!Even a Starbucks!And a great bar.Fire pits at night.Sunset was incredible to top off a great getaway.10/10.
Staff was amazing and nice. But under trained and need more knowledge on processes Messed up our room and what was going on and got charged for parking 2 types in1 day.
Spa was amazing! Pay for parking and taking extra money for deposit
We booked a single King. We got a tiny room with two double beds. Said they were out of Kings. Said they don't guarantee requests for online bookings. We were very disappointed. They did move us the second night but there was a constant banging noise in the vent so we couldn't sleep. We were treated like second class boarders. Parking is $32 a night with no option. The breakfast was not up to Fairmont standards. We will not stay there again.
Mattress was comfy. No self parking option. Valet $32 but half price for hybrid vehicles.
Got a great deal great location! Be prepared for the $30 parking fee.
The bathroom was great and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was just fair.
The rooms need to be updated.
The staff was very friendly and they surprised us a an anniversary treat!! The room was beautiful and the bed was super comfy! Valet is mandatory and quite expensive!
It was all very beautiful, nice comfortable bed. Everything seems nice, new, and fresh. Amazing internet speed. Seems very executive. No where nearby will have free or cheap parking. I paid $30 bucks for parking overnight and $20 for wifi. Room was decently priced, but it was so fancy i didn't want to take the complimentary soaps just incase they'd charge me for that too.
$32 for parking! My god.
$32/night mandatory valet parking is ridiculous. Other than that, nice place.
We were there for a Charity Gala. The patio is very pleasant for an evening event. The bed was comfortable, and I always enjoy Aveeda bathroom products. I found the policies for entertainment to be completely antiquated! The majority of the tv channels are still Low Def! We ordered a movie and fell asleep, only to be told by the front desk staff that the system is operated by a different company so rewatching meant PAYING AGAIN (in less than a 24 hr period). If I were traveling for business, this might have little impact on my rating. But when staying for pleasure, this is unacceptable in Orange County!
Valet, friendly staff, clean, nice lobby and pool area. Outdated hallway carpet and decor Expensive parking ($33/night) Double rooms include full size beds rather than queen size A little hard to spot from the street Building looks like a business Far from the beach (25-30 min with weekend traffic)
Below average service Room had a weird smell. Asked reception to change my room and they said that they couldnt. They told me that I would need to upgrade and pay the price difference. Cleaning service were cleaning empty rooms at 10 pm while we were trying to sleep. 32$ parking per night in an area where it should be free. Better options out there. Definitely not returning.
Very nice & comfortable rooms Wonderful staff. Very helpful & personable Nothing. All was good
I think the valet parking fee was too high. There wasn't any options provided to self parking. You had no choice but to pay $32 parking fee.
Hotel was beautiful, staff was courteous and friendly. $29/day for valet parking when no public parking was available. This added an additional 10% to the total cost of my stay. Ridiculous.
The location was perfect close to shops, restaurant with easy access. The hotel rooms were very comfortable & roomy. The staff was excellent, exceeded any expectations. My toilet had some trouble flushing but aside from that no problems. Please do not print that for public use.
Very relaxing, wonderful food and brilliant staff. Did not use Spa. Pool was good. We had to move rooms as there was building work on that side of the hotel. Very surprised that they even put guests in such rooms as work started as early as 5am and we did not sleep after that time.
The Hotel was truly five star, excellent staff and the rooms were great. Good location but you need a car to get anywhere in California. The Fashion Island shopping centre is next door and offers alternative dining options. This was our first visit to Newport Beach and the Hotel was a positive start to a great trip. As with most west coast hotels the parking costs do increase the cost of staying but overall this was a minor issue.
We come back regularly. The hotel is well appointed and the staff is very professional. Rooms are comfortable and view to ocean side over fashion island is super. Oak Grill Room on the deck for breakfast is a treat.
Great location - right across from Fashion Island shopping center. Easy access to restaurants, movies, shopping. Staff was very courteous and friendly. This was my second stay here. I would come back.
Excellent customer service. Everything was great!
The decor was awesome A little pricy
everything except the HOT, HOT, HOT weather. could not get hotel room cool enough in face of heat wave (25 degrees above expected temperature).
Nice hotel which is close to PIMCO and Pacific Life Insurance
Not the cleanest
Free breakfast was a definite perk. Traveled with 11 people (Young children included) Pool wad clean. Rooms were clean. Elevator smelled of urine and apparently people spit a lot on the ground there. Grounds could have used a little clean up.
Very good for the price. The carpets were a little dirty and it was by the interstate but with the a/c on you can barely here the interstate
I enjoyed this hotel, it's was pretty nice for our money's worth and I felt comfortable. The bathroom wasn't awesome.
I am having good experiences with most La Quinta s all over the state ... Usually very efficient, clean, simple but good looking, good vibe ... Good for traveling alone or with family ...
Everyone enjoyed their stay
Comfortable bed. Room was outdated, phone was out of order. Shuttle service to the airport operates after 10am.
Everything was great. Next time we are on vacation that's where I'm going
Price was low I understand that the price was pretty low, but the hotel was very dirty, inside and out, and the room must have formerly been a smoking room. Not a great value for what it was.
Freeway noise. Rooms clean. Grounds unkempt
its only a transit hotel to stay one night as its near to the airport The service is very bad. We stayed 3 days and we didnt utilise the breakfast as we found to much crowd in the resturants and its very small to accomodate all
Convenient to highway, restaurants, gas stations and shopping It was a little noisy on the Interstate side but I should have noticed that ahead of time.
We enjoyed the beds. We had a great night sleep.
Good location, since it's close to the airport. Facility is extremely outdated, room was tiny and noisy. Parking is an additional $22 per day, which is robbery. I suggest you stay at the Irivne Wyndam instead.
Staff, always professional always polite. Pool fantastic, Spa clean and warm. I loved the Bed, super cloud pillow topped, room clean. Bathroom luxury, from soaps to towels good size. 24/7 always staff on hand. Had starbucks in hotel foyer. Blackout curtains kept morning sun at bay. My 71 yr old mother did not enjoy the pillow top beds, suggested they smothered her. Could hear some trucks on highway braking in mornings and night. It is geared for business, so appeared everything has an additional cost per unit.
Newly remodeled and well kept up. Quiet, and a great view. Service at the cafe was awesome. The price I paid was a very good value.
Nice facility, friendly staff, comfortable large room. $28 for parking in a non-enclosed lots seemed kinda high, but what can you do. A 3.5-4 star hotel at this rate you really can't complain
The staff were great especially Mica
Parking should be more clear that it is charged.. I would have rather just ubered there
They charge $25 for parking and there are no other parking options.
Overall, the staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and the grounds were well kept. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked like it had good selections. We got a suite with water front view. I think the view was a joke as it looked like a semi-dried up marsh. If you went down a few blocks, it was beautiful. I was a little disappointed with the view as I paid extra for it. The bed was very uncomfortable, my husband and I tossed and turned all night.
Loved that the bedroom was separate from the family room, complimentary mini fridge, bath tub & stand up shower was a big plus, easy access to freeway, food & beach! Other than noise from remodeling, I love love love this location!
The large bathroom with a separate shower and bath was amazing. The bedrooms had doors separating it from the spacious living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were 2 TVs with a fairly good selection of channels. The hotel is located away from places to eat so ordering room service sounds great but it's extremely overpriced. Price of parking was ridiculous. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and the extra blankets were scratchy.
$28 for parking a night? Like just hide it in the fee or something because it's just ridiculous. I'd guess that 95% of guests arrive with at least one car.
The people who work here are wonderful. Everyone was friendly and professional. Location is great if you want to be in downtown Huntington Beach. I've stayed at other Kimpton Hotels and found them quirky and charming. This one is a boutique hotel without the charm of a boutique hotel. They also charge a daily resort fee of $25 (plus $3 tax). In no way is this a resort. There is no pool, no spa and if you get a courtyard view room, no view of anything but the courtyard. As someone else noted, the parking fee is hight but it's consistent with charges for all the parking garages in the area.
Hotel is 1 block from Main Street and view of the pier. Terrific stay.
We found this hotel on the IHG site since they had recently merged. Close to beach. Easy access to Pacific Highway. Staff at the hotel were friendly and genuinely happy with easygoing attitudes. It helped us relax and it made a difference. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and if we travel back to Huntington Beach this is where we will stay! Not consistent with the way the room was cleaned. However, a quick phone call remedied our towel situation. Fridge was fully stocked. Wish there would have been less items in the fridge so we could put our own drinks in. No biggie.
Clean hotel and friendly staff. Great location!
nice spacious balcony Was given a room on main floor almost directly off common area, but I suppose someone has to get that one... no ice machine on our floor. Balcony separated from neighbors' by a couple of floor planters--not very secure.
The hotel is so cute, refreshing and close to the beach! Walking distance to everything! Loved it!! Nothing!
Room did not have a couch/pullout bed like it was shown in the picture. Hotel did not want to work with me about switching rooms. Had to ask for blankets to build a bed on the floor.
We booked the hotel on a whim during our road trip and were very pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the quality and and vibe of the hotel. It was in a great location really close to the beach, food and shopping. Friendly staff. Would stay again! Having to sign up for a membership for the wifi was not ideal.
Close to beach, friendly staff. Was everything I was looking for in a beach side hotel. Wish I was able to stay for longer than one night. I was caught off guard with the $35 mandatory valet fee.
This is a great location in Huntington Beach, across the street from the beach and the pier. We loved the cool factor of the hotel and the modern design. The casual beach atmosphere and friendly staff was a treat. We loved the free use of the bicycles.
