Very good clean room with drinks facilities.Friendly helpful staff.Impressive breakfast. Noise. We only stayed one night not five as booked. Trains in particular made it very noisy despite claims of soundproofing - extra layer needed at least to be effective.
Noisy next to the train rail and busy road. Could not see the Adriatic.
Wonderful historic building beautifully maintained with very helpful owners. Don't be alarmed by the proximity of train tracks and street as the double glazed windows really cut the sound.
the building itself is beautiful, great location little too close to the noisy train tracks
The owners had clearly spent alot of time and effort to make the hotel look appealing and welcoming which was greatly appreciated. The location was very good though when we arrived we did npt realise that we were staying in a separate place to Pescara. In any event, we had a wonderful time and the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Check out time was a little early. A spare/separate room where guests can take a shower and get changed would be a good idea - even at extra cost.
The staff (one owner) is very nice and helpful. He went out of his way to accommodate us. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel itself is a piece of history. The restaurant on the -1 level is outstanding! It is not part of the hotel, but is connected and one of the best in Italy. Slow Food, delicious, affordable, and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Wifi did not reach the 2nd floor room. The breakfast in hotel was all packaged & processed foods (they need fresh fruit and fresh bread). The coffee was terrible. Small issue if you are not a breakfast person. Note: my parents liked the breakfast. However, the staff and hotel were amazing and we would stay there again.
Well appointed rooms, good location near the beach, clear signage to the hotel from the Autostrada. None
everything - the proximity to the beach, the simple beauty of the room. the hotel itself is lovely and the staff extremely helpful. NA
The staff was extremely friendly & helpful.
the setting, the staff,
The hotel is located on a hill with beautiful view. There is a nice spa.
absolutely everything, staff exceptional, gorgeous grounds, great food, beautiful location, want to go back soon!
The staff where terrific, nothing was too much trouble. The food and ambience where first class.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant and the next day used the spa facilities and had a massage. The spa was wonderful and both the hotel and spa staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was not as clean as it should have been and I found the decor of the room to be a bit too modern but that was probably the look that this hotel was going for.
We liked everything about Hotel Villa Maria. The staff all love their jobs and you get the best possible treatment. Everything is fresh, the pool is super, the food and drinks are perfect. And there is a very nice spa and wellness area. We had a nice room with a beautiful view over the Adriatic. We were booked for four nights, but decided to stay longer. So we had 8 nights in a total.
Freindly staff, great chef The entry from the town could be more appealing
The entire staff and the hotel manager were more than helpful. The hotel is lovely , set in beautiful park like surroundings with a view of mountains and ocean We had ants in our room from the balcony
The location of the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast each morning was on a veranda overlooking the Adriatic Sea. There is a wonderful pool with many places in the hotel to sit and relax. The room was warm, and we had to go to the front desk to ask for the air to turn be turned on. There we also numerous little flies in the room.
The staff were wonderful, helpful and very considerate and accomodating without being intrusive, a truly lovely experience. The location above Francavilla, overlooking the Adriatic and the truly romantic indoor/outdoor pool, swimming in the rain, fabulous Spa and staff removed all the stresses from my accident....Villa maria is the perfect tonic! n/a
Firstly, we received a really good deal on our room, approximately half price the normal rate. Secondly, it is only a 15min drive from Pescara airport and less than a 2 min walk to the heart of shopping and less than 5 min to the beach. It was very clean and the Cafe Plaza was also very nice and tasteful with an air conditioned outside extension. Although we arrived just after 2pm check-in time, our room was not ready. We had a drink in the Cafe, however I think it would have been nice to offer the drinks as complimentary. We also did not get our wake-up call at 4.15am, and the lift was not working when we were trying to leave thus causing a rush to the airport. It was not clearly indicated (in english at least) if there were stairs to take down which we were willing to do even though we were on the 5th floor, so we had to go back to the room to phone reception. They then told us there was a technical fault and we had to use the service elevator.
I most enjoyed the very central location of the hotel. The breakfast served by the hotel was especially good. The elevator had broken down and was under repair. This meant climbing stairs with luggage in tow.
Really good breakfast (both italian and international), great location (not far from a free beach and from several good shops), welcome biscuits and cleanliness of the room The park was full!!! (Not surprising as there are about 7 parks available for the whole hotel) even if it was included in the price. One receptionist was completely unhelpful and told me: "Sorry but you chose the bad day". Never heard that before, neither in a two stars hotel! More likely the hotel was bad! Room very small for a four stars hotel
Better qualety of food and juice
The room was beautiful: large, well designed, and with a great view over the square. The hotel was well-signed and easy to find. Breakfast was also very good.
Very private hotel, spotlessly clean, staff there if you needed them day or night.Close to airport, railway station, bus station & beach. Would have liked the main restaurant to be open.
The accomodation, and staff were exelent
the staff we polite and helpful 24 hours you need Wi FI for users who cannot use ethernet
The hotel was comfortable and in a good location. Lack of understanding of English language and lack of teamaking facility, no english tea or milk provided.
The way the staff addressed any of my questions and help me.
The location was great. If it was warmer we would've gone swimming because the beach is only within a few minutes walk. The hotel is nice and clean. Our room had a nice wrap-around terrace. Parking lot is a bit tight but free. WiFi is free but for us it only worked in the lobby.
The rooms were very nice and the hotel was very well situated. The price was outstanding as well. The food did not live up to our expectations so we only ate in one of the 2 nights we stayed in Pescara. The menu was slightly limited. We had picked this specific Hotel based on the online reviews that we read.
Very good location, close to train station, closed parking place,
We have stayed before and the hotel has definitely improved. Our room was excellent and even had a view of the sea. Restaurant menu was not diverse especially for vegetarians. Breakfast was basic and did not include fresh coffee.
not a log small rooms, set well back from the sea, had small balcony with sea view but only a single chair, very poor breakfast (nescaffee in Italy!!!), in a residential area with no beach front bars/cafes etc. long walk to restaurants. One staff spoke English.
The staff was friendly and spoke english. There was no carpet in the room and the ground didn't seem very clean. The breakfast was very poor.
Family and staff very friendly
Nice friendly staff Parking an issue
great location, decent breakfast, close to the beach, parking & internet
Excellent staff. Friendly, helpful, English speaking. Was listed as being in Pescara, was actually in Montesilvano. €1.30 bus ride to Pescara city center.
Near the sea, Clean and staff very open to make our trip comfortable breakfast is too much cheap, not enough choice except in biscuits, no fresh fruits and the room is very noisy. our family trip were in november and the hotel were empty.
Centrally located in Pescara with parking - a big plus.
The location, the style of the hotel and excellent staff service. All aspects of the hotel was perfect for us. The staff were friendly and the continental breakfast had plenty to choose from with fresh produce. None
The staff was so wonderful, even going as far as to assist us in making phone calls to long lost relatives and acting as translators when we found our relatives. The location is also wonderful and it was so nice to have a pc with internet it our room. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend it to fellow travelers, whether for business or holiday. We loved everything about this hotel!!
Loved the location. Staff could not be more helpful or knowledgeable with their recommendations. Only downside is the price of the hotel as similar locations can be found for half the price and are not half the quality.
The staff were extrememly helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The fact that this hotel provided car parking at no cst was very attractive also, as was the provision of internet services. The hotel was located in a fantastic position close to the riviera and right in the centre in the vicinity of the boutique shops.
Friendliness of staff, design of hotel
Location was excellent. Hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Of our 17 day trip through Europe, they were the best we came across. Good breakfast. Room was a little small, but the balcony made up for this.
The staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations of where to eat while we were staying in the area. Balcony quite small and shower a bit quirky, but nothing really bad to say.
The staff were very helpful, the location was great, central and close to the beach. The hotel has a nice, clean design. The bed was quite hard and we could hear everything from the hall/ room next to us. The breakfast could be more varied (although this was a typical breakfast in Italian hotels).
Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable and modern rooms. I will definately recommend this hotel.
We booked a quadruple room, and we got a 2-room (bedroom with double bed and guestroom with double sofa-bed) suite with big balcony. Staff was helpful, however could be a little bit better English speaking. Hotel is in 5 mins walking distance from the beach (hotel has private beach, however you will be charged a small (10-15 EUR/day) fee to use their facilities (beach chairs and umbrella).
Swimming pool was clean and view from the pool was nice. Pool is in sheltered place on the roof and sun is shining all day there so good place for sunbathing. Hotel is close to sea so there is easy access to beach. Breakfast was poor if you have used to european style hotel breakfasts. No decent bread and only limited amount of toppings.
we had a fantastic room and had the pool which is on the roof to ourselves. The family who are there are very friendly.
The staff made an effort to speak in English and check in/check out was available 24 hours a day The doors are locked during the night and you have to ring a bell to gain access, I was unaware of this when going out and as such had to wait 15 minutes on the doorstep in the rain, ringing the bell, hoping for somebody to open the door.
Cenrally located, easy to find, able to park outside, spacious, clean well decorated room and a reasonable breakfast.
Location Smell of drains in the bathroom
Close to the station and the centre of town
The atmosphere. Very relaxing and quiet.
Quiet location just off main pedestrian area, & perhaps 10 mins walk from seafront. Very convenient to Pescara train station and for bus to & from airport. Parking was unavailable in vicinity but cheapily available at station. Breakfast was provided for early departure.
Very good location - 3 min from bus and central train station, but in quite area and 5 min in walking distance from sea. Very helpfull stuff - we left hotel before breakfast time ( at 6.00 a.m.) but still have a breakfast and very tasty cappuccino. We spent very nice 3 days in Pescara. And you should see the interior of this hotel!!!
the comfort, the decor, the central location makes this hotel ideal for when i go to pescara I have been to this hotel for e few years now, it has gone through a major refurb during this time, but so have the prices.
The hotel is absolutely lovely, the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the breakfast excellent and the staff extremely kind and helpful.
The staff was fabulous. The service was good and rooms were nice. Of course the beach right there across the street was the best part.
very near the sea. Balcony with seaview showerhead was great but cabine should have been a touch bigger
Location to the seafront was excellent. Also good location in relation to Stadio Adriatico for football trip. Difficult to get to from airport. Taxi expensive. Journey from airport to hotel involves two bus journeys.
clean rooms, friendly & helpful staff
I found the staff to be extremely polite and helpful. The only thing that I found disappointing was that the hot water was never more than luke warm.
This was just an overnight stay after getting off a ferry from Croatia. Very clean and convenient. Good to have fast wireless internet access in the reception area - though it didn't work on all our gadgets. The night porter did not speak any language other than Italian - but was very friendly and helpful and we somehow understood each other.
sea view TV set was out of order
The staff were really helpful. the location about 3kms out of town, so its lovely and quiet. Having stayed in town last year i know how noisy pescara can be at night! our room had a lovely view.
Beautiful garden. A perfect retreat with clean, fresh air! it was virtually empty, and felt almost abandoned.
Friendly staff. ease of parking. access to beach. great balcony with great view. coffee machine. prefer fresh coffee in the morning.
clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, excellent choice for breakfast.
Family hotel very convenient to beach, shopping areas, bus and train station. The German lady in the hotel Patricia had very good english(which was very poor in all places we went to in Pescara). She gave us tremendous help in relation to eating out ,markets, bus routes etc.
Nice location and beautiful see view from the room; kind staff and good breakfast the wireless signal was poor in the room and no connection was possible in the room
We only stayed there as a stopover but location to the beach and restaurants was great.
Sun and bath in the sea, but we vere out of the season? The weather good! Nice food and Wine.Bycyckeles Roma tour with bus. Nice! Trafick near.
Location by the Beach and nice Breakfast Staff very unobliging as to extending our stay for the same price. One said yes but ask the Manager and the older man said no so we left. Hotel wasnt even full at the time. Also not a 4 star hotel as advertised.
The personnel of the hotel was extremely nice and polite, willing to meet any need, any inquiry of the guest. I was very pleased with the way they treat all the guest. The breakfasts are rich with food for all types of preferences. The rooms looking to the beach side are quite noisy (the auto-road and the bars with discoteques make a lot noise), but the Management of the Hotel gave me another room as soon as I asked about it. The hotel is actually something between 3 and 4 stars level, but the price was more than fair taking into account the location and that the beach chaiselong with umbrella are included to the price so I was satisfied and I would recommend it to my friends.
The people were most friendly and accomodating.
We loved the location and the balcony overlooking the beach
close to the beach, yet very quite no
The Staff were very helpful; the facilities very good, hotel in lovely setting, facilities are very contemporary and nice ambiance. Overall we loved our time there which was helped by the really friendly staff No menu in the restaurant, had to rely on head waiters recommendations which seemed to be the more expensive options, it appeared, and limited in choice, hence only had two meals there, but lovely setting. Holiday was out of season and the pool was not kept clean, which was a facility we were not able to use, though advertised as being available.
the location is very good for the beach which is just across the road. The receptionists tried hard to be informative and helpful the hotel has very little sound-proofing between rooms and corridors. It gets very noisy during early morning when the maids start work.
I had the impression from the site that the hotel overlooked the beach, that isn't the case.
Nice location not far from the sea side. Opportunity to have a nice walk close to the beach. Breakfast can be improved (no scrambled eggs and very limited choices of cheese, ham). The wellness center was under maintenance with a very strange message. It read "please stay tuned, information on re-opening the wellness center will come soon", which for somebody who does not plan to go there soon again sounds strange and somehow useless. No price reduction because of this service not available. Internet connection free of charge but extremely slow. No bathtuub in the bathroom and shower coming only from the top. In general I had the perception that "saving" money was one of the drivers in running this hotel
Clean, comfortable room, with very helpful staff. I was expecting beach front, or at least ocean view but that was not the case.
Really modern hotel, lovely pool and helpful staff
Very modern, nice and clean, excellent staff, great location for beach and views. As it was 1st weekend in October the beach was deserted we were the only ones to sunbathe and swim in the sea. Nice and quiet. Would go back but in season only. We went 1st of weekend of October it was still very warm 24 -27c, however the pool on the roof top was already shut, the sunbathing chairs were broken, the spa-sauna was shut for the season. Which was disappointing, plus everything else in the area was shut for the autumn, so to eat we had to travel by taxi to Pescara as nothing in the area was open. However still lvoely hotel
very nice hotel decor and rooms, good location loud music played till 12.00 meant we couldnt sleep. when asking the staff what they would do about about they said nothing. were moved off our sun lounger on the beach as told it was reserved for the hotel director!!
My wife took a terrible fall in this hotel because she was leaning on the back wall of the elevator and the elevator door opened from the opposite side. There was no sihn indicating elevator door opened from the rear once you left the lobby
Location & personnel Limited breakfast & parking
We used the hotel as a base while visiting family in Ari and it was ideal with a good location, friendly and helpful staff and very high standard of cleanliness. We were out all day so only used the hotel for sleep and breakfast. The bar and common areas looked small.
There was nice view to the sea from the balcony. The hotel is situated very close to the beach.
The hotel is comfortable, the decorating/interieur is fine, good bathroom, very fine linnen, food was good, nice employees. Most employees in the dining-area speak only Italian.
Our room was very nice as we had a small balcony that looked out towards the water, but it was partially blocked by the building across the street. The beach access was easy and there was an abundance of beach spots available for our use. You can easily catch the city bus (bus 1 or 2) into town/train station for only a euro and it doesn't take long. We ate a good dinner at the hotel one night for a fair price. The breakfast was good and they served fresh fruit which was a nice addition to the basic spread.
Helpful staff. Enjoyable meals. Quiet, comfortable rooms. The beach was just across the road. There could have been an english translation on the menu, and information on meal times and making calls, but the staff were very friendly whenever we asked for anything.
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is located at aprox. 5 min leisure walk to the designated beach strip. Beach area very well maintained. Resort town quieter than others. Room and bathroom clean. Would go back to the hotel.Would appreciate a verbal or written notice at time of check in regarding the extra cost for bigger beach umbrella. Found out at check out only small ones are included in room price. Hotel staff did work with us on that issue.
All of the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we were made to feel very welcome and appreciated. The hotel's location is very good being close to the beach and there was no charge for using the sunbeds and so on. The wireless internet worked fine and we also had Sky Digitale in our room which was handy for the World Cup.
Welcoming staff who were keen to help. Room was spotless and had a nice view out to sea. Like most Italian seaside hotels in July/August this was good , but overpriced!!
Staff friendly and helpful , spotless and clean rooms and public areas
seaside and hotel staff
I was there at the end of the season but everyone and everthing was good none
The hotel was in a convienent location, however breakfast could have been better there was no elevator and stairs to our room was steep.
right opposite the beach, but quite a way from all of the main shops/bars etc no lift
The bathroom was extremely small, barely bigger than a toilet cubicle. It also had a bidet in the shower cubicle aswell as an antiquated toilet cistern that did not fill up properly after use.
It's location directly across the street from the beach, and having a balcony overlooking same. Stairs up to second floor, no elevator.
location uncomfortable bed
it was much further than I expected from the station - it was a half hour walk when it looked like a 5 minute walk on the map
the staff was very kind and the room was very confortable.
location. Beds had very thin mattress
This was a perfect time of year to stay here (late September) as the crowds were not existent. We were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary light dinners and drink voucher. The room was immaculate. Although it is also a residence hotel with families and children present the hotel, in general, was very quiet.
Excellent quality of our double room. The resteraunt layout and the quality of the food. The highly efficient staff, even when our inability to speak even simple Italian, was taken into consideration. Nothing in terms of our usage - but if one was inferm then the large number of steps could be an issue. To be fair this was stated in the hotel's info prior to booking.
nice location some of the staff not very helpful, food menu was not all availble what was availble was not very good,in fact the lasgne was disgusting get better in Iceland
the location, facilities, staff and the atmosphere around the hotel no
Great pool and friendly staff. Good English spoken
Friendliness of staff. Beautiful view from the (spacious) room balcony. Only 1 towels set in a room for 2 (extra set had to be asked for). Very basic room setting. Hairdrier could not be switched in bathroom. A huge dog was walking around the restaurant tables at dinner. Very poor breakfast buffet.
