Pros: Perfect place
Cons: Nothing - all great
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and great breakfast. We didn’t mind having breakfast at the restaurant in another location because it was right on the Camino route so easy to head out after enjoyable breakfast.
Cons: We were a bit disappointed overall as we expected more with such a high rating and reviews. Someone commented that they received water and fruit in their room. We did not. In fact we didn’t even have plastic cups in the bathroom and the heat was not on so cold after rainy day. We waited until 7:30pm and finally went to reception to ask them to turn on heat. The staff are very helpful and we probably should have just asked sooner. The room we were in just off the pool area wasn’t as comfortable as we had hoped with no place to sit and bathroom had mold in shower and shower curtain. There was no hand soap. It’s the little things that you expect to have that Casona de Nene should work on. Again for such a high rated stay we expected more. In our 28 days on the Camino we have stayed in much better places with private rooms for equal or less money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the best welcome so far on our casino the madage had a lovely manner and took time out to explain all our needs ,thanks again Gerry

Pros: Breakfast selection was very good, and the location was ideal. Three minute walk to the Cathedral, but set apart from pedestrian traffic. I have completed two Caminos and this was where I have stayed for a much needed celebratory rest!
Cons: Service at the restaurants was lacking. Although the servers did their best, they were clearly understaffed, especially when large groups were present.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Of all the hotels I stayed at during my Camino, the San Francisco was the best. You are treated with so much hospitality that you feel like being part of a family!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old monastery 1 minute walk from the cathedral. Spacious room in good order with a comfortable bed, a reasonable shower and twin sinks. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Reasonable rate, all things considered. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: TV was a bit small given how far it was from the bed. Pricing was somewhat similar to the slightly more upmarket parador in the Cathedral square. But these are very minor points.

Pros: Was close to everything
Cons: Room smelt like stale musty water

Pros: Historical building with large, well equipped bedrooms, right next to the cathedral. Excellent breakfast selection.
Cons: Bedroom door(s) have gaps between the door and frame resulting in a rather loud environment at times. Staff at the restaurant, breakfast area and reception were generally unhelpful and at times appeared quite rude. Not what on would expect at a 5 star hotel,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, toiletries amenities superb, very comfortable.
Cons: The food was not as good as expected. Some food in the breakfast buffet that I would expect hot was cold. We had to return our dinner entrees because the pork was cool while the potatoes and greens were hot. I still have it a 10 because everything else was wonderful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice atmosphere, good food and very friendly and helpful staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful hotel surrounded by history. The Parador de Santiago de Compostela seems to be guarded by San Santiago. The renovated hotel is impeccable, its staff very professional, the rooms very comfortable. Is very large. It has several old courtyards, which can be seen from different points of the hotel. It has a lovely chapel and its bar and restaurants are excellent. It is located in the heart of the old town and from there, its famous cathedral is walking distance. It is very nice to see how the walkers of the Camino de Santiago route arrive. They arrive very tired, but if they stay at this Parador, they have a nice reward.

Pros: Beautiful old winery converted to lodgings in the Spanish style. Large grounds filled with fruit trees and vines. Just lovely! Plus a sumptuous breakfast spread with fresh-squeezed orange juice, jamon y queso, freshly fried egg, cake, fruit and yogurt, coffee&tea. Gracias Wilmer for a great stay!
Cons: Wish we had stayed longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is beautiful and marvellous, surrounded by nature and a very calm village. Perfect place to stay near Santiago de Compostela.
Cons: They gave us a room which was too close to the main staircase and hallway and the main wall of the room was of thin wood allowing it to pass all the sound and noise of the hallway making us impossible to sleep when people passed by at early morning and late night, but the rest was very pleasant and wonderful. If we were to go again we will ask for another room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A really beautiful place, with all comfort. The breakfast is a special moment!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Santiago was fully booked (after our Camino walk) so we had to go 7 to 8km out of town but what a blessing it was. The quietness and beautiful grounds. The hosts were just lovely. The rooms for us were perfect and spotless. Breakfast in the morning was divine (6 euros pp). Even though we couldn’t speak Spanish we were able to communicate just fine (thanks google translate and to our friend
Cons: It’s not so much what we didn’t like - just need to be aware they do not do dinners. We had to taxi everywhere so it was an extra cost to us to get dinner. If you have a car that’s no problem. We were recommended a fabulous local restaurant- that was 10/10. FYI taxi to Santiago cost anything from 12 to 18 euro depending if there was a surcharge.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Character of the house. Location Cleanliness
Cons: There was a bit of damp smell. Some radiators look like needed painting, rusty marks. There was need of tyding up a bit more garden area.

Pros: Manuel the proprietor was welcoming, attentive, amusing, speaks perfect English. Our room at the top of the house was huge, comfortable, with lovely views over the surrounding vineyards. The food was excellent, his wines too (we came away with a box of the bodega's speciality Albarino), and the whole place very good value.
Cons: Nothing to complain about!

Pros: The house is beautifully renovated. Great views. Very serene and peaceful. Nice breakfast!
Cons: The owner didn’t seem to be friendly. He came across as very suspicious and anxious. We had a feeling we were constantly being watched. Unfortunately it ruined an overall great impression of the mansion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house itself was beautiful and surrounded by vineyards all around. The rooms were huge and comfortable. Perfect temperature and although there’s no air con, there is no need. The breakfast included was a delicious spread and the night we ate there, the food was one of the best meals we had on our holiday. The man in charge gave us a personal tour and history lesson of the house and the wine he prepared for us was so good that we brought 3 bottles back home with us! Would definitely go back and this time stay more than just 2 nights.
Cons: Just to mention one thing, the WiFi is very slow but it’s so nice and peaceful and you spend so much time outside, that there is no need for any.

Pros: Very friendly owner who spoke excellent English. Peaceful location in the countryside. Very clean and one of the better continental breakfasts, incl. fresh fruit. Owner even teed up one of the local bars for us to watch the French Open Womens final.

Pros: The room had very large windows with lovely views and was within walking distance of good restaurants. The coffee in the morning was nice and the staff were friendly.
Cons: The room had a bath with a very large shower over it but it was very difficult to get into and could cause some travellers problems. The building and surrounding gardens were in need of some attention which was a shame because it has the potential of being a great retreat as it offered a well being area which seemed to be the owners main concern and the bed and breakfast a side line. The breakfast was simple, offering prepackaged foods.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, restaurant and facilities. Nice swimming pool and gardens
Cons: SOMES ISSUES WITH CLEANING.
5.0 Okay
Cons: Tries to present as a grand hotel. Doesn’t make it. Room was freezing and could not regulate from the room. Desk said they could set it between 24 and 28 C. The lower limit is over 75 F. I said you’re giving me a choice between roasting and freezing. Desk said there was nothing they could do, the system was in control. I went mildly berserk and the desk said they would check the computer. Problem was solved, but only after loudly vociferous complaining by me. There was mildew on the ceiling in our room. One of the electronic keys did not work, necessitating another trip to the desk. The towel warmer did not work—desk said none of them do. Toilet flushing mechanism had to be repaired. Hotel is a steep uphill hike 6/10 of a mile from the famous square. As pluses, the desk came to our room when our wake up call failed (our fault) and the breakfast buffet was good.

Pros: Our room was very, very nice, older with character and in good condition. The hotel is across the street from the market and while outside the oldest part of town, was only about a 10-minute walk from the cathedral. Staff were very pleasant and arranged for an early morning cab for us to catch the train.
Cons: No complaints

Pros: We LOVED the 3rd floor terrace off the library with the view of the River.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant five star hotel within walking distance of the Cathedral and historic centre. King sized beds and very comfortable rooms. Stayed here at the end of October for two days as a treat for finishing the Camino, with our grandchildren who loved the fitness room and pool (Yes the pool temperature is cool, but get swimming and you will soon warm up - couldn't get the kids out). Nice views over the gardens, and very quiet location at night.
Cons: Didn't have the breakfast at 16.5 Euro - plenty of cheaper options near-by. Had a few bar meals with drinks which for a five star hotel were reasonably priced (two glasses of red wine 6 Euro - large pizza 10).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and good facilities, massage was fantastic
Cons: Some areas were a little tired
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Calm atmospheric hotel conveniently situated for the centre of Santiago. Historic building carefully renovated with good facilities including indoor pool- although water could be warmer! Staff welcoming and helpful. Rooms well appointed. Located in a quiet corner of this beautiful town. No traffic or tourist noise just the occasional owl! There is a picturesque stream with a bridge and little chapel nearby.
Cons: Would appreciate tea/coffee making facilities in room.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good position; pool
Cons: The noise from the room above. The architect and builder messed up. The rooms should have been built larger instead of having the silly 'drawbridge' at the entrance and on both nights of our stay we heard the occupant of the room above moving around; I don't think they were being particularly noisy or clumsy but the soundproofing was inadequate and our sleep was disturbed.
